Hair Color -Garnier - Cristal Color permanent hair color
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 4:00:00 AM
Just used this color once, as I really wanted to try a color that seemed so appealing to me: Light Honey (#713). I am a previous user of Garnier Lumia so I thought to give it a try to Cristal too. Well, it works sooooo nice!!! The colour is true (a little bit darker since I applied to my light to medium chestnut hair) and made wonderful highlights on my white hair (yeap, got ones too, since I was a kid). It's very shiny - cristal - and the hair seems not to be bothered much, and didnt dry my skin either. Comes with an applicator but somehow I find it more easier to just use my old bowl and brush rather than the applicator. The balm included in the pack is quite lovely and made my hair shiny and smooth. What I loved about the balm is that it comes as double size, to be reapplied after two weeks - gives a shiny boost to the colour, so nice! I think I'm gonna stay with this color for a long time, it's a great product and worth well the money (by the way, it's not ridiculously expensive!).

Hair Color -Garnier - Lumia Permanent Haircolor [DISCONTINUED]

A wonderful hair colour: very close to the one on the package, doesnt dry out the hair, stays on with a good shine for quite a long time. I reapplied after 8 weeks but only because my hair grew way too long and not because it was fading. I also liked a lot the balm that comes within the pack. I am using it for about a year now and it's definitely one of the best I've tried. My shade is Light Chestnut.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Lip Glide Lip Gloss with sponge applicator [DISCONTINUED]
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:58:00 AM
As I see from other reviewers, it's quite a controversial product. However, I like it personally. I have the #3 Glistening Sand and goes very nice to achieve nude lips (I'm fan of those!). It has a high coverage for a lipgloss, which I like, but unfortunately it doesnt stay put more than others :-( I took a lippie off because the quantity in the tube is REALLY small (dunno about other who wrote here 0.06 oz but on my tube it clearly says... 0.04!!!) and because it is quite pricey for the brand and quantity.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Night time pore clarifying gel
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:58:00 AM
Quite a mediocre product for my combo sensitive skin. I used it every night for about a month and DID felt my skin smoother in the morning. Which I liked. But my blackheads werent loosened as they were supposed to. I doscontinued using it and now I contemplate it again... maybe I didnt give it enough time to work? I'll give it another try and will come back with the results.
PC's 2%BHA lotion is the answer to my blackheads, by the way.

A great cleanser, it's gentle, non-drying and quite efficient. I found it to be very suitable for my combo sensitive skin. Love the subtle smell, too :-)

Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - Blackhead/Blemish Extractor
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:56:00 AM
Oh YES YES YES!!! Call me a dork but til recently I wasnt a user of the metalic extractors b/cos I simply couldnt believe they would do a better job than... fingers wrapped in harsh cotton tissue (!) But reading all the reviews on MUA about the Tweezerman extractor, I thought to give it a try. Gosh, this thing works miracles! It's so easy to use (evern for a beginner dork like me), it doesnt leave scars and doesnt irritate excessively or leave red patches for days (well... only for like half a day!). It took off every little blackhead I had, even the very small ones on my nose that I've always hated and always had a big trouble getting them out. This thing is my new best friend ;-)

Wonderful tweezer that knows its job. It pulls even the very short hair, so I always look smooth since I've got the tweezerette. I'm lovin' it! Took a lippie off just because I would really like the arch to be more softer...

Moisturizers -Shiseido - Selfit Moisture Base - natural
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:55:00 AM
Wow! I am definitely loving this! Got one off eBay since it is nowhere to be found in Europe at least, and it works wonders to me. First, it is a very strong moisturizer, leaves me the feeling it is also nutritive for the skin and not only moisturizing, yet not at all oily (my combo skin would reject it in a minute!). It evens out the small imperfections before applying the foundation, as it is supposed to do, and I notice it improves how the foundation stays on my skin: it somehow "disappears" into the skin better and looks more natural. To conclude, this product does for me everything it claims to be doing, and definitely would go on with more once my tube is finished. The package is quite small (25 grams) but a little goes a looooong way.

Treatments -Maybelline - Ultra Strong Pastel Strengthener
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:54:00 AM
Well, I'll have to disagree with the previous reviewers as I am not so excited about this. As a strengthener, it does a so-and-so job: not awful but not anything to be enthusiastic for. The thing is... no matter how long I wait (even after 1 day) it doesnt seem to dry up completely or at least this is the feeling I get when touching my nails: it feels rubbery, caoutschouc-like! I always have to cover it with a layer of clear polish, to obtain the smooth strong finish. Better off with Sally Hansen's Diamond strenthener.

My oh my!!! To me that's like the sexiest men's fragrance of all! Mmmmm cant have enough of it, smelling it on my hb :-) It's so different from classical men fragrances, has no tabac smell in it. It's super pricey but oh worth every penny. It lasts morning to night and needs only tiny squirts. I'M LOVIN' IT! The Light version is all the regular one but improved since the smell is not so striking at the beginning. Secret: sometimes I wear it too! :-)

Moisturizers -Lancome - LCM Beautifying Skin Conditioner
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:52:00 AM
Wonderful! Just finished a bottle and repurchased. It's an excellent moisturizer, light in texture, slightly perfumed (personally I like it), acts as moisturizer and conditioner. Leaves my skin soft and radiant, I've never felt and looked like this after another moisturizer. Definitely a must. I use the one for combination skin.

Treatments (Eye) -RoC - Retinol vitamines A+C+E triple action eye contour
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:51:00 AM
Had hopes for this one, 2 years ago when I bought it but... haven't noticed one single thing from the 3 claims. My wrinkles were not even smoothed (and hey, I was only 26, I've got only some expression lines, not wrinkles actually), dark circles were right there as always and no change about them, as for bags I didn't have them int he first place. I've used this religiously 2 times per day but... nothing more than a light moisturizer. No other effects, nada!

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain Apres Soleil
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:50:00 AM
A wonderful shampoo for sun-exposed hair. It's moisturizing but doesnt make the hair go limpy, and it's also nutritive. Leaves my hair healthy and shining without the frizz and dryness that sun is responsible for. My hair used to bee like 6 months a year in strong sun and I really needed to use good protective and moisturising shampoo. This one is a buy for all summer long for me.

Nice perfume, fresh and spicy yet not heavy (if used decently!) but nothing too extraordinary that would justify the high price. I wear it sometimes but wouldnt buy it again, there are so many others that I'd like more.

Lips -Labello - Cherry Lipbalm
All_Work_No_Play 4/27/2006 3:49:00 AM
As a lipbalm, is ehh... okay, mediocre. I've seen better (the Nivea range for example, or the vitamin power from Labello). As a tinted lipbalm, then it's definitely awful! The colour is way too reddish-bluey-fuchsia and show up way too strong for a lipbalm. I cannot wear this at all, makes me look like a clown.
