Stick -Shiseido - The makeup Stick Foundation

Nothing else makes my skin look this good! It smoothes on so easily and blends to look like real skin. It has a dewy finish that looks good even on my oily skin. It looks incredibly natural and the shade is great for my pale yellowy skin. I do wear concealer on my blemishes, since the foundation is pretty sheer. It doesn't make my acne-prone skin break out at all- in fact, it seems to improve when I use it. It does make my skin oily, hence the lippy taken off... but I'll gladly blot a couple extra times a day to look like I have natural good skin! I love the slick packaging too. It's great to throw in your bag or travel with. When I was wearing it, my sister said that I looked way better without makeup. Little did she know... For exercising or really sweaty days, I usually use a foundation meant for long last, but on normal days, this is amazing stuff!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Stay Natural Makeup

Sigh* I can't believe they discontinued this. It was my HG foundation by far. It lasted through everything, looked natural, and never made me break out. It controlled oil better than any foundation I've tried, even the expensive ones. Too bad!

Liquid -L'Oreal - infallible never fail makeup
psmitty 5/26/2006 11:27:00 AM
Infallible? I don't think so. After just a few hours, the foundation was wearing off my face! Not only that, but my skin was incredibly oily. It was a waste of money for me! The only things I liked were the range of shades and the pump bottle. Revlon Colorstay and Lancome Teinte Idole are much better. Even my Shiseido fluid foundation lasted hours longer than this stuff! Very disappointing.

Powder -Shiseido - The Makeup Powdery Foundation SPF 15
psmitty 5/24/2006 3:27:00 PM
This is an excellent powder foundation. It goes on easily, and once its set, has a perfect semi-matte finish. It's light coverage, but with a little concealer, my acne-scarred skin looks great. I can't stand Studio Fix because it changes color on me and wears off in a few hours. This stuff stays color-true and uniform- it doesn't cake or wear off in patches. Oil control is slightly better than most foundations- nothing that my trusty MAC blot powder can't fix. I find that it looks and lasts better with the Shiseido pre-makeup primer underneath. No breakouts! The color is a perfect match for my extremely pale yellow skin. Definitely my HG powder foundation!

Liquid -Shiseido - Fluid Foundation

After dozens of disappointments with expensive foundations, I gave this one a try. I have combination/very oily t-zone/sensitive/acne-prone skin, so it's a tough search This foundation is light and looks incredibly natural. It spreads easily and feels great on. Granted, the coverage isn't great, but with a little concealer the look is flawless and real-looking. Just make sure you moisturize, since it sticks to dry patches. Very light ivory matches my very pale olive skin perfectly (that never happens!) I use the primer underneath and set it with MAC blotting powder since I'm oily. I love it so far. My skin looks great! My only complaint is that application is awkward with the bottle..it needs a pump. I haven't tested it in the rain or while exercising for its lasting power. Will update! UPDATE: lasts pretty well with the pre-makeup cream while exercising

Pressed Powders -Shiseido - Pureness Mattifying Compact oilfree spf 16
psmitty 5/20/2006 11:17:00 AM
Can't say I'm too impressed with this powder. It matches my neck/arms perfectly, but turns a weird orangey shade with the oil my face. It doesn't come in many shades and the refill falls out of the compact. I love Shiseido products usually. I'm attributing this lack of satisfaction to the limited number of shades. There isn't much for really pale olivey people like me. Any MUA member suggestions for a great oil-controlling powder foundation would be appreciated!

Lipstick -Shiseido - Sheer Gloss Lipstick in Honey Tea [DISCONTINUED]
psmitty 5/20/2006 10:15:00 AM
I bought this because of so many positive MUA reviews. I haven't been disappointed! The product looks scary and bright in the tube, but goes on an amazingly flattering sheer product. One slick gives a great natural-but-better look and more looks beautiful and polished. It feels moisturizing but not slimy or sticky on and lasts fairly well. I have really pale skin and dark hair and this lipstick looks AMAZING. It is more subtle and workable than Clinique Black Honey on me. The tube is classy. It's expensive for me, but well worth it. This is going to be a staple!

Blush -Shiseido - Accentuating Color Stick - S2 Peach Flush

Yet another excellent product I bought because of MUA reviews. It looks so peachy in the tube, yet spreads on the cheeks with a lovely pinky color. Easy to use, easy to apply, great packaging to throw in your bag, and great look. I love it!

Mascara -Clinique - Gentle waterproof mascara
psmitty 5/19/2006 12:55:00 PM
This is my staple! A very dependable product. It washes off easily, doesn't smudge by the end of the day, and really thickens my lashes. It doesn't bother my eyes and my lashes aren't ever crusty. My definite favorite. UPDATE: Smudge-free in winter, fall, & spring...but not summer! It's the first time I've worn it in 85 degree + weather, and it definitely smudges. Maybelline Unstoppable mascara is way better...it may not make lashes look as full, but it holds up in the heat and washes off easily

Pressed Powders -Clinique - Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder
psmitty 5/19/2006 11:03:00 AM
An okay product. It didn't control shine for very long and tended to look a bit heavy. It seemed to change colour on me throughout the day and gathered into lines when I sweated. Lancome Matte powder works much better for me and comes in nicer shades, and MAC blotting powder controls oil much more effectively. Like usual, had high hopes for a Clinique product and was disappointed.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium
psmitty 5/19/2006 10:59:00 AM
Love it! Thanks again, MUA. I bought this after reading reviews from other oily girls. It really makes a difference. It's light, easy to apply, and natural-looking. Not only does it set my foundation perfectly, it doesn't look powdery or fake and really helps keep my oil at bay. I'm very pale, but the medium is perfect on me. Great product!

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
psmitty 5/19/2006 10:37:00 AM
I've bought this foundation 3 times, all in different shades. It always looks like a perfect match in the store, but changes colours like crazy as soon as I get oily. I wanted to like this foundation with all the hype... but I just don't get it. It wears off very quickly, turns my face into an oil slick, and changes colour throughout the day. It starts looking terrible a few hours after application. Not dependable! Not only that, I get minor breakouts when I use it. Maybelline Purestay powder is better and it's a fraction of the price. I'm going to try Shiseido Pureness Mattifying Compact instead due to MUA reviews... will update.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Ultra Mat
psmitty 5/19/2006 10:31:00 AM
This foundation looks natural but does not control oil! It required constant powder touch-ups throughout the day and deteriorated in oilier areas. For the price, I expected better. Hopefully I can return it. Back to my trusty Teinte Idole.

Cleansers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam
psmitty 5/18/2006 7:45:00 PM
This product turned my clear skin into a breakout zone! I tried it to get rid of tiny white bumps you could barely see. Instead, it dried out my skin so badly, I had crusty patches even with moisturizer. It irritated my skin so much that it caused acne that took months to calm down. This product is not for sensitive skin!!

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]
psmitty 5/18/2006 7:39:00 PM
This is a good, dependable product for those bad days. I always come back to it when I need more coverage. It goes on smoothly, looks fairly natural, and lasts all day. It's also transfer resistant, which is a major plus. It can stick to dry skin, so moisturize beforehand..then it looks great. It doesn't control oil, so I usually use Cover FX powder over top which usually does the job. It never makes me break out! It has a great range of shades, which I appreciate since I'm really fair with yellow undertones. It costs quite a bit for a student, but it lasts a long time. The bottle is a great shape/size and the pump distributes the perfect amount. My friend said I had "flawless ivory skin" when I wore it... little did she know it was blotchy with blemishes underneath! Bottom Line: a little too heavy for good days, a lifesaver for bad days Tips: Moisturize really well beforehand... and for oily girls, try powder over top! Then it is absolutely excellent
