Fragrances -Christian Dior - Pure Poison

I have always been one tought chic when trying to find a perfume. Especially lately when my Boucheron started to smell like bandaids on me and my brand new bottle of 360 is heading for ebay. I almost completely gave up on scents, until Pure Poison came out. I kept visiting the Dior counter and spritzing and I loved it. It lasted, and made me feel very feminine. After many visits to the Dior counter, I finally bought the combo with the lotion and the very pretty and useful purse spray. It's still just as wonderful after two months, and I don't care what anyone else thinks - I love this for what it smells like to me. The lotion, however, I am disappointed with. I would like to see a cream - that would be wonderful. Scents are so personal and react with hormones and stresses so any recommendation really is not very valid. The best thing is go to the counter and try it. BTW, I cannot wear anything by Dior except for this one.

Lip Gloss -Estee Lauder - Go Pout lip glaze-Starlight

So I am heading to work, just showered and used my brand new perfume. And I smell something sickeningly sweet. I am sick. I think my perfume already turned on me! I get to work. I still smell that horrible smell. I reapply my lipstick and there it is again. I suffer all day and get a headache from the smell. I come home, ready to shower and loofa off the perfume, when on a bizzare whim, I smell my lipstick. YUCK! That's what smelled! That and the vinyl pots together. Not my type of smell. I like some things by EL, but I never could remember that even when I got a GWP I would give away the lipsticks. Now I remember. Also because I really never found a colour I enjoyed. Oh well. If you hate this smell, try Christian Dior - much better smell.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shadestick - Mangomix
rated 2 of 5

I love MAC for the choice of colours and price primarily for lipsticks, but the saleslady suggested the Shadestick and of course got another one to concur exuberantly. So I bought it. And I don't like it. It stays it you let it dry, true enough, but it caused my lids to flake and itch terribly. I could be sensitive to something in it I suppose. Otherwise, I also did not like the lack of manipulation for this product, and I couldn't match a highlighter up to the colour. When I put it on the crease of my lid, it travelled up a little and looked somewhat, well, ugly. Even on the lid, it just kind of sat there and looked very rough. Not a happy camper especially now that my rosacea in my eye has acted up, so back to return it I go.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 5 of 5

LOVE this mascara. By far the most volumizing, profound mascara I have ever used. Black is really black. One coat is definitely enough. Hint - use something like Dior's Ultimeyes or Lancome's Definicils for one or two coats and be sure your lashes are well separated and defined. THEN use Diorshow on the tips. POW! It'll also last forever that way.

Treatments (Eye) -Guinot - Longue vie yeux

I loved this cream when I bought it. It didn't affect my rosacea, and it deflated puffiness and evened out the dark circles. It immediately absorbed into the skin so I could apply my makeup right after. There is no discernable scent that I could detect. But with that all being said, it stopped working after I got through about half of the cream. I stopped using it to see if it will renew its effect later. I also do not like dipping my fingers into the cream or using the stupid paddle that I have to clean all the time. I prefer a pump - it's cleaner and keeps the product fresher. The price is not so bad given the quality.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Bioperformance Super Eye Contour
rated 5 of 5

Wow! This is the best eye cream. I have rosacea and it is in one of my eyes as well. So many things irritate it, and I have to be very careful with what kind of cream I use on my eyes. With that being said, I am not a spring chicken anymore and I can't get away with using nothing! I tried a sample and I am in love with this cream. It's light, slippery, luxurious...but I usually only use it at night and a gel in the morning. I understand it does wrinkle correction and dark circle lightening AND puffiness reduction, but I've heard that that's impossible. But maybe it's true, although I found that it seemed to work best on the wrinkles and the dark circles. I did have a little puffiness in the AM which I normally don't have, but it is the holiday season...will wait for the GWP before purchasing it or until my eye bothers me so much I give up and shell out the $$!

Treatments -Chanel - Solution Destressante Calming Emulsion [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
luluhalabaloo 12/28/2004 12:22:00 AM

This is a great product. I have rosacea, and when winter strikes, my cheeks really hurt. I put it on over makeup, under makeup, after washing, it doesn't matter when, it instantly cools my skin. I was in New York recently and my skin reacted painfully to the pollution. I used Solution Destressante and I was a new woman. The bottle will last forever.

Treatments -Chanel - Eclat Originel - Radiance Revealing Serum

How this product can be compared with Estee Lauder's Idealist is beyond me. I still have half of it sitting in my cupboard. I tried using it again recently when I ran out of my sample of Idealist and it...did...nothing. It never did anything, actually, except maybe make me a bit redder. Anyone want the rest?

Treatments -Chanel - Age Delay Rejuvenation Serum [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
luluhalabaloo 12/28/2004 12:17:00 AM

I was a die-hard Chanel fan for years. I love to try new things, and when Age Delay came out, I bought it. It did nothing, absolutely nothing. I couldn't figure out why I bought it, and why I had to waste an extra moment applying it. I used it up, but it did nothing.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist
rated 5 of 5
luluhalabaloo 12/28/2004 12:13:00 AM

I used up my sample Idealist (15ml) recently. I found that my skin flaked considerably at the beginning, but after the second week, the flakiness subsided. I also noticed that that oil slick on my forehead no longer needed constant powdering throughout the day. Ultimately, what convinced me to purchase the big bottle was my boss inadvertantly touching my cheek, a very well-kept male friend commenting for the first time on how young I seemed to appear, and my batty old relatives not recognizing me at a recent wedding and then commenting on how wonderful my complexion looked. Any product that can get these kinds of results is worth gold!
