Primer/ Corrector -The Body Shop - Matt It Face & Lips
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:35:00 PM
This is my cheaper alternate to my favourite primer - by Arbonne. They have a similar silky smooth texture without feeling greasy. You only need a pea sized amount, spread around slightly on your hand, then smoothed over your face. Many people overdose on primer causing the oiliness which is sometimes a consequence of this! (But not always). For reference I have "normal" skin aside from occasional zits and dry spots. I would repurchase this next time I run out on my other, yes!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #129 Powder/Blush Brush
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:33:00 PM
Before purchasing this brush, I used whatever cheap blush brush I had on hand. I never expected there would be an actual difference! At first I did have some subtle shedding but nothing complaint worthy. The shape and size of the brush is perfect, and round, not flat so it fits nicely to your cheek contours. Blush applies much more naturally with this brush. I would recommend and repurchase if need be!

Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush in Pin Up
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:28:00 PM
What a beautiful colour.. I use this as a highlighter, for extra glow over top my MAC blush in Dainty. For reference I have NW15 skin, and I have a difficult time finding a highlighter that shows up on my skin in a flattering way. It gives awesome colour pay out - it's so pigmented! The colour is a dusty rose, slightly bronze but it's subtle and natural looking. It was around $8 or less at my local Walmart, so it's great value for your money. My only complaint is that the container broke so I had to tape it together, but opted to purchase a new one. I would repurchase and recommend for sure!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Dainty
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:26:00 PM
This is my daily blush - very flattering and natural on my NW15 skin! I expected it to show up too pink or glittery.. But the look is soft and natural. It have just the right amount of shimmer and sheen, and suits both natural and smoky eye looks. I often add a little Hard Candy in Pin Up on top for a bit more of a noticeable glow. Together they make the perfect combination! I would recommend it!

Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:23:00 PM
I did not like this primer at all unfortunately! I did not buy the tinted ones for reference. It has the texture of a cheap hand lotion, instead of the silky smooth texture of the majority of primers such as Arbonnes, or The Body Shops. Also has a scent that I am not too fond of - sort of like an old perfume. I would not recommend, and does not seem suitable for ladies with oily skin.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Wedge Eyeshadow
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:22:00 PM
A MAC make-up artist recommended this to me to use as a cheek contour. I have yet to experiment with eye looks using this shadow but I think it would make a nice crease color! On my NW15, fair skin it blends in quite nicely with a MAC 168 brush.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:20:00 PM
I purchased this at Walmart for quite cheap! I love it and use it daily. I prefer it over Benefit Erase Paste and all MAC concealers I have tried. Its a large tube, for the price and you only need a tiny amount for under eyes, around nose and a few blemishes! As long as I sent it with powder - (Studio Fix NW15) its lasting coverage. The packaging and name are also super cute!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #130 Short Duo Fibre Brush
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:17:00 PM
I love this brush - previously I was using the circular sponges from MAC for applying my Studio Fix Fluid but wanted to try a stippling brush. Once you get the technique down, it works great, and blends in correctly. It fits nicle around your nose, and under the eyes!I have not tried it with any powder or cream products though.

Nails -Sally Hansen - Crackle Overcoat in Fuchsia Shock
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:13:00 PM
I have tried a couple of the Sally Hansen versions of crackle and these are the worst for me of all the crackle polishes in my opinion! Though I followed directions, it did not really crackle for me and looked more like a scratched leftover polish on top of the undercoat of polish. A little disappointing considering it being a bit costly considering it's a drugstore nail polish. Also the formula is already becoming oily and odd after a month later.. I recommend O.P.I shatters or China Glaze.

Fragrances -Lacoste - Touch of Pink EDT
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:10:00 PM
I love the fresh and youthful scent of this! I use about three sprays of it before going out, more of a day perfume in my opinion. It's far more fruity then floral, and has a fairly dominant juicy orange note! Touch Of Pink is a fragrance that would be subtle enough for say, work or a job interview. Unfortunately I am disappointed in the staying power. I don't find it as noticeable as I'd like (I suppose that's better then TOO noticeable). Perhaps would buy again if it was an Eau De Parfum instead of Toilette that may be the issue. I would only recommend if you are looking for a light splash of fragrance. For that, I look to cheaper body mists.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Coconut Lip Butter
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:05:00 PM
It smells amazing of course, but I am not a fan of the container. It's sort of a mini version of the body butters. I don't like reaching into the little pot once you've used it up 1/4 of the way, it feels awkward. The formula is creamy, maybe a little too creamy. With a balm I like to apply it and be on my way. With this I have to check because it sometimes shows up white is you are not careful. I honestly fell out of love with this balm after a couple months. I don't have particularly dry lips, but I am in the habit of applying it daily whenever I am not wearing lipstick (as we all know how drying that can be). The price is decent, and it smells nice overall. But I am not blown away by this and therefore will not be repurchasing.

Lipstick -MAC - Twig-Twig
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:03:00 PM
I have bought two tubes of this lipstick so far. For me being as fair skinned as I am (NW15) its hard to find a red toned, yet natural lipstick! I wear this almost daily in my version of a toned down Pin Up look - with natural looking false lashes, slightly winged eyeliner etc. Its quite natural on my warm colouring and adds just the right amount of pop without looking too artificial or shocking! I like to miss it with either Viva Glam V or Patisserie for a shinier finish. I would recommend and will continue to repurchase!

Polishes -OPI - Black Shatter
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 7:01:00 PM
Out of all the different "crackle" polishes I have tried this is by far the best line (OPI) to get them from. The first few times I used this I didn't get a very attractive result. Not terrible, just not the look I envisioned. This is a fun way to refresh your manicure if it has chipped, or you're just plain bored of it! This is a polish that is best to experiment a fair amount with, before giving up on it. Different techniques, and amounts of polish make a huge different of how the crackle turns out! I would not repurchase solely because I don't use this polish enough to need to. I feel the trend is becoming over done.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase Paste in Fair
TimeAndBlame 11/10/2011 6:59:00 PM
I gave into the rave reviews I had been hearing about this product and unfortunately I was disappointed. Firstly, it has an odd smell - not exactly rancid but sort of like cheap, play makeup you get as a child. The packang is adorable, but the price is too steep. I also found it settled into lines (which should not be noticeable if you're 19 haha!) and looked cakey. I would not repurchase or recommend. However, for a fraction of the price check out Hard Candy Glamoflauge. It's amazing coverage and only around $7 at Walmart.
