Skincare - Body -Kiss My Face - Lavender and Shea Butter Ultra Moisturizer
rated 3 of 5

This is a thick shea butter lotion which has an aromatherapeutic lavender scent. This is scented with actual essential oils, not a synthetic fake lavender, so that's a plus. It's nice to use in the evening, after a bath. This lotion sinks in nicely as well. The thing that I don't like about it, however, is it isn't very moisturizing.

Styling Products -Dove - Flexible Hold Non-aerosol Hairspray
rated 4 of 5

This is a nice, light, flexible hold hairspray. It provides a touch of hold while adding a bit of texture to the hair as well. The smell is very strong, perfumey, which some people may like, but for me it's a bit strong. Overall, a good product.

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Sleek and Shine Weightless Anti-Frizz Serum
rated 3 of 5

Hmmm..I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to the PM Super Skinny serum, and this is not it. My hair was still a little dry & fly-away after using it, and it doesn't smell that good (citrus-y). It's light, and it may work for me during less humid months, but in this heat & humidity it just didn't cut it for me. Dissappointing, average. (my hair is fine, slightly dry)

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
renia22 8/19/2006 4:49:00 PM

My hair is fine, brown, slightly dry, and has a tendency to frizz. The only hair color that I use is henna, so my hair is not damaged from coloring. I thought I'd try this new hello hydration formula since the clarifying shampoo that I have been using over the summer has been drying out my hair. This is a thick conditoner which smells heavily of coconut, the smell being a bit much for my taste. It works well, though & made my hair smooth as silk, even though I probably only used a tiny, dime sized amount. Since my hair is so fine, I'll probably save this to use once in a rare while, but I'll bet this would work really well on someone who has more damage or thicker hair than me. Overall, a great product for only $3,

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo
rated 4 of 5

My hair is fine, brown, shoulder length, and it has a tendency to frizz or to get spilt ends. I don't color it, except when I use a mixture of neutral & brown henna every few months, which washes out. The trick for me is to find products which will not further dry out my hair, but that won't make it flat either, since it is pretty fine. This shampoo does a pretty good job of moisturizing. It has a creamy, silky texture, lathers well, and smells nice, if not a bit overwhelming. It may be a bit too heavy for my hair, but I think I'll try alternating it with something else to see if that helps. This would probably work well for someone who has dry hair, but lots of it (which I don't). Overall, it's a decent product.

Conditioner -Sunsilk - Hydra TLC conditioner
rated 3 of 5
renia22 8/16/2006 9:29:00 AM

This actually worked great on my hair. I tend to skip conditioner since my hair is so fine, but I tried this after getting some samples from my sister. It made my shoulder length, fine brown hair (which tends to frizz) smooth, shiny, soft and sweet smelling, without weighing it down. edit 12/11/06- after a while this product started building up on my hair & leaving a film. The smell is also starting to get to me. I will probably not purchase again since the new Herbal essences line is much, much better & doesn't build up.

My fine, shoulder length, slightly frizzy - prone hair responded really well to this shampoo. It didn't weigh it down, either. My hair ended up soft, shiny and sweet smelling after I used this. Nice!! edit 12/11/06- after a while this product started building up on my hair & leaving a film. The smell is also starting to get to me. I will probably not purchase again since the new Herbal essences line is much, much better & doesn't build up.

Styling Products -Sunsilk - Hydra TLC 24-7 Creme
rated 3 of 5

My sister gave me a sample of this, and I really like how it made my hair look and feel. My hair is brown, shoulder length, & on the fine side, and it has a tendency to get frizzy and to get spilt ends. However, with the right product, it can look pretty healthy & shiny. With the wrong products, it can look either flat & lifeless or dry & frizzy. Well this seemed to do a pretty good job of making it shiny & healthy looking, without weighing it down. I'm planning on going out today & buying a full sized one, as well as the shampoo & conditioner to match (which also worked well for me). edit 12/11/06- after a while this product started building up on my hair & leaving a film. The smell is also starting to get to me. I will probably not purchase again since the new Herbal essences line is much, much better & doesn't build up.

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime GLOW
rated 5 of 5
renia22 6/3/2006 12:42:00 PM

This is my new favorite gradual self-tanner. I bought this in medium, and it gave me a nice, warm, bronze glow in a couple of days. It has a shimmer to it, which you can see when it's sunny out. To me it has a slight perfumey smell; much, much better than that rancid jergens. I'm very pleased & will be using this for the rest of the summer.

Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep
rated 4 of 5

My hair is fine, shoulder length and medium brown in color. Though it is fine, the ends do tend to get dry so it's tricky finding products that don't either weigh it down or dry it out or both. Recently I dicovered the Aussie Dual Personality Volumizer Plus Leave-In Conditioner & have been using one pump of that after shampooing, just prior to blow-drying. However, I do find that I still like to use a conditioner every once in a while to help keep it healthy. I found this for less than $3 at Wal-Mart and thought I'd give it a shot. I used this before shampooing, leaving it in my hair while I showered & shaved my legs, etc. Then I rinsed it our & shampooed. My hair was nice & soft and shiny afterwards. The smell is just okay. The squeeze bottle is cool. Overall, a good product.

Concealers -New York Color - Cover Stick in Medium
rated 4 of 5
renia22 4/29/2006 12:22:00 PM

First a bought the NYC cover stick in light, but the color was deceptive & ended up being much too light for my skin. I ended up putting that one away for winter. The medium seems to be a pretty good match for my skin. My hair is medium brown in color, my eyes are brown, but my skin is on the light side. It does tan, and I have pink undertones. This concealer is a neutral, light beige color and seems to cover blemshes well without having that fake 'make-up' look. It's creamy and goes on smoothly, but so far I have not noticed any break-outs or problems from it. It was very inexpensive, too.

Skincare - Body -Burt's Bees - Baby Bee Dusting Powder Drum
rated 4 of 5
renia22 4/27/2006 4:26:00 PM

This is a nice, sweet apricot scented baby powder with quality, natural ingredients. Normaly I buy Johnson's for economy's sake, but every one in a while I'll splurge on this. It comes in a small container so in my house it doesn't last very long, but I do like it and would buy it again.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 2 of 5
renia22 4/27/2006 4:19:00 PM

This has a thick, waxy texture that in my experience did not moisturize very well. It just sort of sat on my lips. The smell is minty, which I did not mind, I just didn't like it because it didn't seem to do anything for my lips. I prefer Avon Lip Dew or even plain vaseline to this. The Trader Joe's mint lip balm also works quite well for a very reasonable price.

Shampoo -Yves Rocher - Phyto Reflet-Henna Shampoo for Auburn Hair
rated 5 of 5

Wow, I'm shocked at the bad reviews. I've tried this shampoo many times & love it. My hair is medium brown in color & fine in texture, and this shampoo not only brings out the natural red highlights in my hair, but it also makes it shiny and full. No residue that I can tell. And you can get it for really cheap when they have it on sale. I also love the scent. I'd definitely buy it again.
