I received the starter kit as a gift from a friend, and I haven't used any other makeup since. It really does make my skin look flawless and natural. The Well-Rested eye product is a lifesaver and one of my favorites, along with the Mineral Veil. I love the eyeshadows and the blush too. I highly recommend this brand, but it's not for everyone. The powders can be messy, especially if you tip them over. The Warmth is a terrible shade, and in my opinion looks like orange mud on the skin. Also, the application technique is hard to get used to, but the DVD helps. And finally, sometimes the products make my skin itch. I'm not surprised though, because no matter what any company claims, it is impossible to manufacture a product that is non-irritating to the skin of every person on Earth. As long as you're aware of the drawbacks of the products, I think they're worth trying for the even-toned, smooth complexion they give.
Out of the drugstore brands, this is the best long-wearing lipstick I've tried. I have four of them, including a sheer version in Sheer Bronze, and they are all comfortable on my lips, have good color saturation, and last through a meal. I highly recommend this, especially because you can find it at a buy one get one free sale. The only drawback is the cheap packaging.
This is an outstanding fragrance when you keep in mind that it is a Revlon/drugstore product. The price is a little high, but the quality makes up for it. Spray lightly because it is a little strong, but it's a longlasting and very pleasant scent, and unlikely to be offensive to anyone. I wouldn't recommend this fragrance to teenagers or young adult women, but if you're a little older, I think you'll love it. FYI, Walgreen's gives out free samples of it.
I love this scent, but I couldn't give it high marks because it lasts for about 10 minutes. When I layer the fragrance with the lotion, then it last for about 11 minutes. I'm really disappointed because it smells beautiful and I like that it's natural. I'm glad I got the set on clearance for only 10 bucks, so I don't feel like I wasted a ton of money. If I had paid more for it I would have returned it.
Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Bronze Gelee in medium deep
Peaches1027 4/26/2007 10:23:00 PM
I used this product last summer and the summer before, and it's outstanding. I have been using L'Oreal Sublime Glow on my body and Jergens Natural Glow on my face this spring, and both of them have caused me to itch. I have a skin condition, so I have to be careful with products. I am going back to the Gelee because I have used it on my body and my face without any breakouts, rash, or itching. Sometimes I get streaks with the Gelee, which is why I switched products, so I will purchase some correcting pads when I purchase the Gelee again.
This stuff stinks so much that I can hardly stand it, but I love the color, the little bit of sparkle, and the easy application. It dries in about four minutes for me, and it only took two applications to get a nice dark color on my olive skin. If you can stomach the odor, this is a great self-tanner. I don't recommend using it on your face, though. I have sensitive skin, and sometimes this product makes me itch. I use a different self tanner on my face. UPDATE: After a couple of weeks the smell got to me and I threw this stuff away. Dont waste your money.
Powder -Neutrogena - mineral sheers mineral powder foundation-fair to light
Peaches1027 2/16/2007 11:52:00 PM
This was the worst ten dollars I've ever spent. This stuff is gross. It didn't even out my skin tone at all, and it went on so thick that I felt like I was coated with flour.
I wear this mascara in black. It really does make my lashes look dark and thick and beautiful, but it clumps easily, especially as it gets older, so I have to throw it away sooner than I would another brand. It works so well, though, that I forgive its clumpiness and keep right on buying it. I haven't found another mascara that makes my lushes as full.
Lips -Cover Girl - Smoothwear Liptint - Peachy Sheen
Peaches1027 2/16/2007 11:46:00 PM
I generally dislike drugstore brands, Cover Girl in particular, so when I say this is a great lipgloss, you can trust me. I hardly ever run out of anything because I throw it away first, but this product is one that I always use up and then repurchased. It has a smooth consistency, the color is subtle and flattering, and it feels very moisturizing. An all-around great buy.
This blush is really expensive, so I'm embarrassed to say I own four of them, but they are my favorite blushes. I have Rose Fresque, Miel Glace, Shimmer Coral Sunset and Shimmer Pink Pool. I have olive skin, and the colors work well for me, and they last all day. I love the packaging, too. I feel very glamorous using these blushes. After reading the other reviews, I'm going to pick up a few more colors. If you can stomach the price, this is a great product. The only reason this product got four lippies instead of five is because of the price.
I received this mascara as a free gift with purchase last year, but I just started using it recently. It is the perfect mascara for everyday use. It doesn't clump, it's not too thick, and it nicely defines my eyelashes. This is definitely worth purchasing time and time again. I'm so glad I discovered this product. UPDATE: 8/7/07 This mascara started irritating my eyes after about a week and made them burn and itch like crazy. I thought I had an eye infection or needed new contact lenses, but I switched back to Maybelline mascara and haven't had a problem since. Be careful!
Polishes -Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color
Peaches1027 12/31/2006 11:49:00 PM
I can't believe how good this polish is. I am on a keyboard all day five days a week, and this stuff really doesn't chip. It's a miracle to me. It wears off ever so slightly on the nail tips, which is expected, and all I have to do is touch it up every day or two. A great find!
I can understand why some people hate this fragrance. I think it's one of those that you will either love or hate. I like the soapy/floral aspect of it, and it lasts a long time, which is a major factor in whether I will keep a fragrance or exchange it. My best advice is to try it before buying it. EDIT: 8-7-07 I can't wear this anymore, and the bottle is only 1/4 gone. It makes me sick. Now we use it as room spray. I don't recommend it. Glade is cheaper.
