Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HIP Pure Pigment Shadow Stick
Nekura 7/28/2007 1:12:00 AM
I got this as a freebie in a swap. I took the product out of the case and didn't know what to do with it. There's plastic over the pigment stick you need to peel to get to the rest of the pigment... I got this in Dazzling which is a silver. The product is impossible to use dry... it just risks it to crumble and break with little result. I broke a bit off when I first tried using it dry. I tried it wet after reading reviews and it actually looks applies really nice! I just wish it was packaged better without having the whole pigment revealed and merely protected by one later of plastic which isn't easy to remove. It's kind of hard to control too since it's stubby. HiP recommends sharpening this but you waste so much product that way. When used wet too much it damages the product a bit too like water damage on eyeshadows so you need to scrap a bit og that off. I originally wanted to try these myself but I'm glad this was a freebie and I didn't waste $9.99 purchasing this. I give this a 3 because after all the fussing and trying to figure out how to use this, when wet the payoff is really nice. It makes me wonder what the other colors are like since I recieved a silver. However HiP needs a long page of instructions on how to use this properly and warning that you'll waste more product than the amount you'll use. I generally like most of the HiP products so far, this one is disappointing. They should put this pigment stick in a pencil for ease of use. Sharpening pure pigment in a sharpener is really risky.

Blush -NYX - Nutmeg
Nekura 7/28/2007 1:01:00 AM
This was my first NYX blush and one of my daily blushes. A dusty peach with a bit of grey undertones but nothing too overpowering (it looks more brown in the pot). Highly pigmented so use with a light hand, otherwise this makes a good contour color too. It's a matte finish. The packaging is cute (reminds me of Too Faced) however it is the same shape as NYX single shadows just bigger so even though it's cute, it's kind of hard to store if you own a lot.

Blush -NYX - Mosaic Powder
Nekura 7/28/2007 12:56:00 AM
I use the highlighter mpb01 as a daily product. At first I actually didn't know how great this was until I started swatching highlighters from other companies and realize the price + quality I got from the NYX ones. These cost me I believe... $5 at a beauty supply store which is discounted from the retail price. I'd pay $7 for it if I had to especially for the highlighter. I know I'll have to repurchase this soon because of frequent use! I'm indifferent with the other ones the pigment seems to vary with each color. Though regardless, the lasting power for this is great so I'm willing to buy a different color just because of that. This is great as a highlighter for the eyes and cheeks and it stays on even during hot disgusting summer days. Edit 03/08/2008: I've hit the pan with my mosaic highlight and am ready to buy another one like I'd assume with my initial review. After trying other highlights and even investing in MAC Lightscapade MSF, I still love using NYX highlight the most because I can use it for many purposes. It's so far the only highlight I've found that lives absolutely no glitter but a true sheen. I've also picked up Rosey Mosaic which is a nice neutral/cool pink blush. Though some mosaic powders are not as pigmented as their normal blushers in a square case.. they're all very fool proof, multi purpose and natural with a very glowy sheen rather than the standard shimmer/glittery mess which can often make many people look "greasy" depending on skin type and weather. They also last all day... I love this normal NYX blushes but I really love these too! The fact they fit into MAC blusher palettes is a plus.

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Lip Injection- Techno kiss
Nekura 7/28/2007 12:44:00 AM
I change my rating for this from a 3 to a 4. It smells like Strawberry Lipsmackers or some Hard Candy lipglosses in strawberry. It's not a bad scent but it is a bit strong... I didn't like it at first but I got used to it. I overall like the color of this a pale pink with multicolor shimmer but the plumping burning sensation bothered me a lot. I picked this up recently again and it doesn't hurt as much as it used to... for whatever reason but due to this, now I can actually use this gloss instead of having it roll around in my train case. I give it a 4 just for the beautiful color, everything else about it is okay. The plumping effect still burns a bit but it's nothing too bad like when I first tried these... but now I also realize this plumps as much for me like ELF lip plumpers which are $1 and don't burn period.

Eye Shadow -Iman - Luxury Eye Shadow - African Violet
Nekura 7/25/2007 12:58:00 AM
This is a deep purple near black with a slight metallic sheen. The glitter doesn't appear plus it looks quite chunky in the pot that I don't really want it to show up. I bought this on a whim seeing it in a DR pharmacy and never again have I seen IMAN products again unfortunately. Overall the quality and texture is nice, it's interesting used wet too. Takes some work to get the color out of the pot, but after that it applies nicely. The price is alright. I wasn't expecting to see this brand in a drugstore really so I didn't mind paying $9 for it. Due to the metallic sheen, this eyeshadow looks really interesting when wet too.

Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipstick in Tawny Dew
Nekura 7/23/2007 1:46:00 AM
Avoid this line if you find the ones in the silver packaging... it's such a gamble! sometimes they're great, sometimes it's really gritty. Revlon totally did something horrible with this formula...They normally have some really great lip products but it's like playing with fire if you bought these in the old bulky packages. This is really gritty to the point where I can't use it to even state the color on me :\

Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipcolor - Conditioning Shimmer
Nekura 7/23/2007 1:44:00 AM
It has a decent shimmer but it feels less conditioning than the lipsticks however if this was bought in the 2 packs, there isn't much to complain. It's workable but not the best for what it's suppose to do. It's a bit dry compared to the lipsticks strangely enough....

Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipcolor in Wine Splash
Nekura 7/23/2007 1:42:00 AM
This is one of the few moisturous lipcolors I bought that works well without feeling odd. It's a nice cool mauve/red with a glossy shine however Revlon makes other lip products that are better and less risky to invest in so I generally stay away from these...

Lipstick -Revlon - moisturous lipstick-apricot mist
Nekura 7/23/2007 1:40:00 AM
The tube I got feels like a stick of sand, it seems to be an issue with some of the products in this line depending on your luck! (I wasn't so lucky with a few of them but I bought them during a sale). I wouldn't buy it again.. its a bit too coral and reminds me of colors people used back in the 80's-90's. I guess it would be nice if you had a smooth tube and like orangey lipcolors on average.

Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipcolor- Sweetwater Pink
Nekura 7/23/2007 1:38:00 AM
Don't buy these in the old packaging, the big silver ones... They're a hit/miss.... either smooth or like sand paper. This is a really frosty pink and slightly gritty but bearable. Revlon makes other great lip products I don't know what's with these.

Lipstick -Revlon - Moisturous Lipcolor in Mauve so Moist
Nekura 7/23/2007 1:34:00 AM
i like the color but they smell funny and every tube is a winner/loser type of ordeal. either you get a great one that is smooth and moisturous or you end up with one that feels like sand paper... just don't bother honestly unless it's on sale... i have the old ones in the nice silver but bulky tubes. i wanted to like this but i have a bad one so I won't bother! out of all the moisturous lipcolors I like 50% of them.

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Goldie lipgloss in Snowfox
Nekura 7/23/2007 12:49:00 AM
This is my first Goldie product which I bought from someone online. So far it's one of my favorite lipglosses because of its unique color. I own nothing like this at all or have come across anything similar. At first I thought it was just going to be a typical clear gloss with a shimmer but it turns out to be a light gold shimmery color that gives a very nice effect. The smell suits the color, a creamy vanilla scent. It's one of those sticky lipglosses but I don't mind since it doesn't feel too different than MAC lipglasses. Eventually I got used to the feeling but I can't get over the color. It's so lovely and is wonderful on top of lipsticks too. I don't shop at Bath & Body usually but this l/g definitely makes me want to try other Goldie products.

Blush -Jordana - Blush- Touch of Pink
Nekura 7/22/2007 8:51:00 PM
A matte peachy pink that is very versatile for all times of the year. A touch of pink is a great blush for anyone who wants a flushed appearance any time of the year. Particularly nice for the colder seasons.

Eye Shadow -Jordana - Eye Shadow- Beige
Nekura 7/22/2007 8:34:00 PM
I don't believe anyone has mentioned this.. but Jordana "Beige" is a very close dupe to MAC's popular shade" Phloof!". To color, subtle shimmer, and texture they're nearly identical. It's definitely something I'll be using often without hurting my wallet :) It's a color that's very good for highlight and neutral looks! I've been looking at Jordana products more due to MUA reviews and so far I've yet to be disappointed. Well worth the dollar spent. They can also be depotted into MAC palettes which is a great plus!
A pic for reference:
Also, I heard this is supposedly a dupe for MAC Shroom? Shroom and Phloof! are a both similar highlight colors but I only own Phloof! I'm ivory/warmtone/yellow complexion. Either way it's too close of a look that I'm a bit angry I own phloof! Why? because the amount I paid for it could have purchase almost all Jordana shadows...

Lipstick -Rimmel - Sweet Stuff Lipstick
Nekura 7/17/2007 6:33:00 PM
I bought one of these on a whim due to the display for the new Rimmel Underground line. "Lip Service #700" for about $9 which is quite expensive for Rimmel. Cute sleek packaging with an emblem on it. Most of the colors I saw were nude/pinks. Lip Service is a sheer light brown with a lot of shimmer, it's not really lipstick, it's more of solid lipgloss. It's a nice color really but the smell is a really strong chemical-fruity scent... I wouldn't be so hard on this product if it didn't also leave an odd/sweet chemical aftertaste. That scent just never goes away, it's so strong you can taste it. I hear great things about Rimmel products a lot, but this particular line of lipstick I won't try again especially for $9. I rather use that money and buy 2 regular Rimmel lipsticks...
