Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - pretty n' pink
Christinaann5 10/1/2010 12:58:00 AM
Like the review before me said, theyre not overly dramatic. But at times i need a toned down look or a crease to brow highlight blending color and these 4 colors are great. I own all of these quads and not one has disappointed me. If i have money id buy them again but i have a wide range of shadows rite now that need used up. Like i said this is a great pink shadow quad so if your in need of pinks this will be perfect. It goes from a white with slight shimmer to a light baby pink with slight shimmer to a tiny bit darker pink/purple a bit matte and then to a midtone pink more matte. I like all these and find a way to use them all. worth way more than $1 i believe. Elf is the best cosmetic company, they carry a full range of great priced cruelty free and great products. Better than more expensive products i end up regretting i bought bc i have a $1 product that works the same if not better. Try em out!

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Smokey palette (six shades)
Christinaann5 9/26/2010 1:28:00 PM
I love this palette. I am a more neutral lover but with this palette i love the colors since theyre not to dramatic they are all unique and i dont have colors like these. The neutral palette is great too. And the packaging is great too. It has windows to see what color they are and its a sturdy palette. Its not flimsy and shiny black. And for $3 its a steal. Get em bc i dont know if they always carry em.

Eye Shadow -New York Color - Color Wheel Mosaic Eye Powder - Brown Eyed Girl
Christinaann5 9/26/2010 1:07:00 PM
I love these little guys.. They are beautiful colors. I think they are not powdery more buttery and apply to skin great and blend great. I use this one alot because the colors look great on my pale skin. The highlight color is great and taupey brown color is my fav. Two of the sections are matte and are great crease or lid color. I have two more of these. I wish they made more bc id own em all. I wish they make one with taupes and black shades. I use these alot and i have alot of eyeshadows. I paid 3.99 each but wait until theres a bogo deal and id def pay $2 for these. Id keep buying these as long as they make em. They are beautiful. I dont mind the packaging since i dont carry makeup around. Its just like theyre blush/powder wheels the lid just pushes on but i can see some others not liking it. There is about 4 or 5 diff color wheels to pick from so im sure everyone can find one theyll enjoy and goes with skintone. I love these. Def worth a try.

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
Christinaann5 9/22/2010 3:05:00 PM
I really like this concealer esp for blemishes and red areas. I use it around my nose and lips and for when i got blemishes. Its ok for undereye area if u use a very thin layer but id use a liquid concealer for that. But when im in a pinch i can use it wherever needed. Its a mousse consistency obviously and spreads or blends like butter. I use my concealer brush to dab dots onto areas needed then use my finger to blend out i find its easier to blend out and warms it up a bit and helps mix into skin. I have it in lightest shade available and its perfect for my very pale skin. It doesnt oxidize nor have i found that it disappears while at work. I find it works great. I would rebuy if or when i need to bc since a thicker or more condensed formula i only need a teeny bit so this smaller jar will last a long time. Im just worried how with time if the consistency will change/dry out? I duno. Its lasted me for months and barely made a dent so i will update (in a year it seems haha) how it is when or if i reach the bottom. Its a great concealer! Recommend to those that use concealer regulary. I got it at rite aid on a bogo 50% off sale normally around $7 but i noticed at walmart or target it was way cheaper even without a sale. So if ur purchasing id def pick it up at walmart or target to save some money even if its a dollar. Rem.. You only need a tiny bit for whole face areas otherwise it will look cakey and thick and i did that at first and didnt like it but then i learned how to use it right and love it! Update 10/10/11- love on my undereye area. Critcal that u apply a Thin layer. I tap so litely and 'pat and roll' to blend out. I find its not cakey. It makes my eye area look 'normal' and brighter. Also, i found that this 4 me with maybe drier skin, a great eye primer. It evens out the whole area and provides smooth surface 4 cream base. Ill test out more. Please respond if u know about using it as an eye primer

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - Crease
Christinaann5 9/21/2010 5:43:00 PM
I love these brushes! I purchased for $8 or 9 and had to make a trip to a cvs since there isnt one aroumd me for bout 30 mins which sucks im so glad i did. I use them both almost everyday. The bigger one is great for placing crease color and placement and shape and the smaller one is great for precise outer v work, placing shadows on lower lash line or smudging liners or shadows. Its alot like mac 219 or at least i think so. Theyre great to have wouldnt want to be without them. My only grips are they can be a teeny bit scratchy but hopefully conditioning helps with that and they shed a bit. Im use to my elf brushes which never shed so maybe thats why its bothersome only sometimes. I tell u everyone should own these definetly! The price is great. Def worth the price..

Concealers -Rimmel - Recover Concealer
Christinaann5 9/20/2010 1:33:00 PM
I love this concealer.. Its perfect in everyway.. I have very pale skin and the shade ivory is perfect and it blends like butter. Its so smooth and creamy and the shade is finally light enough for my undereye circles and blemishes. What i found that it works great as an eye primer too. Thats what i found out one day when i put on lids and 4got primer. I did use a cream base on top and my lids arent oily.. But i will be rebuying when i run out but i use it every other day (i alsn have elf studio concealer and highlighter duo and its great too) and its lasting awhile. So its a great buy so glad i found it. I bought it at walmart and hope they never discontinue it.. Its around $4 and had a $1 coupon. P.s. Rimmel put out new version of their shadow quads and trios. I liked them b4 and now i really love em.. Try em k!

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Cream Eyeliner - Coffee
Christinaann5 9/20/2010 11:32:00 AM
I love love love this cream liner. I was sad at first bc they were out of black for quite some time so i finally gave in and ordered this one in coffee and a few other new colors. I tried finding reviews but theyre sparse. But im so glad i just bought them bc they rock. This is so creamy and create a natural Line for daytime since black sometimes is too much.. It glides doesnt tug and stays put after that. Its def worth $3 and so much more. I have other cream liners and at times they can be bit drier and harder to put on just like i like but theyre good but this is better.. I love all the colors i own would love to rebuy if i need to but see it lasting awhile. I also have used these as bases. This coffee provides a darker base and looks beautiful with a greener shadow on top. It dont budge or crease (i dont have oily lids though) ive been using these every day and love it. I wish more people would review them bc i really

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
Christinaann5 9/19/2010 11:40:00 PM
I love this stuff it is amazing. I wish id known about this years ago.. Or my whole life. I had a friend purchase this for me bc she has a hair liscence and the store where its available u need one : ( it was around $30 for the bigger bottle 3.4 fl oz or 100ml which i was weary bout forkin out that much for the bottle but its worth every penny. Believe me i hate spendin that much $ on anything and i was thinkin it would last 2 weeks but all u need is dime size amount in palm and rub into hands to cnat then run and comb thru washed hair with fingers. Focusing on dryer areas too.. Thats how i mainly use it well every time i wash my hair. I also add a teeny bit to hair dye to help with breakage. Its amazing.. Ive had this for 5 monthr and not even half way thru. U can also use on dry hair to help frizz or flyaways.. BEST EVER for my dry damaged dyed blonde brittle hair. Ive tried used everything so my hair wouldnt look damaged for many years and at last this makes my hair look and feel soft.. Ahhh! Im tellin u b4 id shampoo then normal conditioner then deep treatment and leave in for whole shower then rinse and then a glob of deep conditioner combed thru and leave in (and hot oil treatment few times weekly) so with that id then have to use leave in conditioner and detangling spray every time just to brush out hair so it didnt look that bad and now i shampoo wash condition maybe deep condition and 1x weekly hot oil treat and rinse then when done with shower use this esp at ends and dryer spots combed thru with fingers and wait for it to absorb then spray a leave in (dont really have to?) And combin is so easy and air dry my hair feels and looks incredible! My bf even noticed.. A rare first he loves touchin my hair now.. I dont shed that much anymore. Whats great is i dont think u could use to much. It dont look oily its great.. Try it u wont be disappointed at least im not i wont ever go without this again my head/hair will hate me if i do! Only little bother is that its a glass bottle with twist cap sn be careful!

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush - Pink Passion
Christinaann5 9/19/2010 8:29:00 PM
Love love love this blush (as i do with all of the elf studio and reg line blushes, studio line rocks my world) this looks like a really bright pink in pan (looks exactly like nars packaging except with a front small window and mirror inside great stuff im telling u) im very pale with slight pink undertones and at first i was nervous that it be too bright and goddy but its so pretty and perfect that id wear it every day if i wasnt obsessed with buying every blush i can get to. It makes me look like i laughed for hours if u can understand. Its just wonderful. I apply with elf studio complexion or blush brush and swipe onto cheeks and bam! Im good to go. I get so many compliments when i wear this. I will be rebuying and gettin an extra just in case which means alot bc i rarely do that with blush. I love elf. I wish theyd open up their own stores like mac bc id live there. CRUELTY FREE i hope elf sticks around 4ever. I cant live without em.. Hehe *update This blush is still my favorite but i have to say i must have opened my back up at some point mistakenly & i realized it was bc i had thought it was a diff color bc somehow the color had faded in the pan somehow which was weird so i kinda rubbed the blush to see if the color became the same after the top layer & it is slowly becoming one true color but i thought it was really weird. i dont keep my makeup in the sun- i am not sure if maybe the cold or heat did it- either way its getting better but its alot lighter pink like a baby pink on top of the pan then the further down to bottom is the Pink Passion shade- it was so weird since that has never happened to me before not sure if it came like that & i never noticed it? either way i have two opened now & i use either one- and its my favorite go to blush esp when i want a fresh young look. if i got slightly darker eyes- i wll use this blush lightly & it gives mea youthful glow! i love it! this blush will def be great on fair skintones since its so light but it may be great on all skintones! i love it & reach for it all the time which is crazy considering all the blushes i own!

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel
Christinaann5 9/18/2010 10:36:00 PM
I love this primer! I know its not its purpose but kinda. Its not for what everyone thinks its for. Its for people whos thighs rub together or whose skins 'chaf' so its a skin protectant. Its a brillant idea. So for all those weary dont be. This works wonders for my foundation routine. It makes my face look flawless or airbrushed since it provides a smooth canvas for my cream/liquid foundation. I clean, tone, moisturize face let sit. Then squeeze 1/4 pea size amount from tube onto finger and dab onto face onto four spots: each cheek forehead and chin. I work from in to out. Blends like a dream. Rem ur lids bc it helps there to. I have normal to dry skin and have had no probs. Doesnt cause breakouts for me. Its awesome glad i paid round $6 for this compared to $35 so im greatly satisfied and will continue to use daily bc it covers pores and provides seamless canvas for skin and foundation doesnt budge all day! (Lanacane also makes an anti chafing gel which i think is exactly the same maybe blends a tiny bit better and i think $1 cheaper so ive been alternating to see which one ill stick with) go to walmart in girly section and pick up this (purple box) or the lanacane version (yellow box) and i wish more would give it a chance bc it works miracles! *update- i still use this.. i actually went thru one tube then bought my 2nd & im working on the 2nd tube now.. but ive found that the Lanacane AntiChafing Gel is a bit more creamy then more silicone based.. now they are both silicones but Lanacane, which is a $1 or so cheaper than Monistat, is a bit more creamy than gel like. its hard to explain. but if u like Monistat u may want to try the Lanacane.. i really love it but i also like Monistat.. either one is silicone based & smooth over the skin to provide a nice buttery smooth surface for your foundations to sit on. i def notice a difference if i try to skip primer now i just cant go without. i really enjoy dotting this all over then dotting my Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer all over & together they make my perfect little primer. so im still a big fan of this & thank God for whoever started using this as a primer & shared this tip & trick with us all..

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Blending Brush
Christinaann5 9/18/2010 9:48:00 PM
I love this brush! Its amazing! I just love elf brushes. I bought online from them and i have actually bought 3 of these. Since with most elf $1 brushes each one is very slightly different and i use this for so many things. Uses- applying highlight to cheek cupid bow bridge of nose and brow bone. Contouring sides of nose, placing lid color brow color blending out outer v or crease color, applying color between crease and highlight, etc. It has so many uses for me. I wash and condition these and keep em soft and i dont rem any shedding at all ever?! I wish it was a tad more tapered and smaller so i could define outer v or crease but i have another brush for that otherwise i could do a whole look with just this $1 brush. CRUELTY FREE cheap great quality. Take care of them and it will take care of u.. Hehe.. A tip: i ordered another one bc i seen a video where u could squeeze the ferrule (or base its aluminum or something) carefully horizontally a centimeter or less so its head is a little bit flatter to imitate a mac 217 a bit more. This has made it great for defining outer v and packing on color bc the bristles are a little flatter. Its a great idea. If i can get my pics to upload ill attach a photo of the difference so u can see if u dont understand This is an amazing brush as is ill keep and use em forever and suggest u buy and try it if u havent already!

Eye Primer -Unlisted Brand - Claudia Stevens - Eye Prep Lid Primer
Christinaann5 9/18/2010 7:47:00 PM
I love this primer. I have a few eye primers and this one i use often. Im not sure if the people who have said that its shimmery white have got an old formula but the tube i got is clear black writing has felt top with 4 holes where the product comes out when squeezed. The formula is a darker skintone color like a biege. I was worried at first since im very pale but it blends out evenly and un noticable. I squeeze a teeny amount onto pointer finger and apply and spread out. I think that it helps warm up base and allows it to spread evenly and helps avoid caking or lines. (I dont think the doe foot applicator is bad but i see it spreading unevenly and wasting product) the tube is clear so i can see how much is left and will be easy to get to all of the primer unlike the hard tubes with a wand and having to cut it in half. Whats great is that my shadows look great and stay put all day (like 12 hrs) with no creasing. Keep in mind i have normal lids but i work in a kitchen so this actually works thru all the heat and doing dishes etc.. I think that my lids look a little better with just this on its own.. Id even apply this and liner and be happy if i had to. Its available at sallys beauty supply store and it was on sale 2 for $8 when i bought it. So for $4 its the one of the best primers i own.. Try it out i love it.. The product i own is called eye prep lid primer.. Im not sure which one the others are talking about but i seen that there also by claudia stevens was an eye and lip primer made together in a two part wand.. Maybe thats it i duno.. But the lid primer is great! Def will be repurchasing when i run out but with how little i have to use and decent amount (11gr or .39oz) i see it lasting a bit.. But id rebuy it definetly!

Eye Shadow -L.A. Colors - 12 palette e/s in traditional
Christinaann5 9/18/2010 11:45:00 AM
i still have to say that I love my LA Colors. I think its my favorite drugstore or affordable makeup company. I use to love Elf but they have been raising their prices on all their $1 makeup (which isnt that why people ordered to begin with) so they have now moved up to top spot! And this oldie but Goodie is still one of my must haves! ~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The LA Colors 12 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in "Traditional" comes in two different types. The oldest one has 3 rows of 4 shadows and the other one in 2 rows of 6 shadows. Both are well priced at $1-$1.50 at most. I can find these at my local Dollar Trees, Family Dollar, Dollar General. The older one (with 3 rows of 4) have been being taken away so if you like it & can still find it, def pick it up. I love the older style one but the other one is good too! I am glad my Family Dollar has updated their LA Colors makeup collection, it looks great in the stores. ~~~~~~~~ SHADE - FORMULA - PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ I will try to review both w/out blabbing. First ill start off with the older version (in the photos above) TRADITIONAL is a great collection of neutral browns & beiges in both palettes. These palettes offer day to night looks. Great for all year round. I love neutrals so these are reached for often. The colors are somewhat of a satin finish in older palette but the updated version has mattes, satins & some shimmer shades so its nice to add dimension & texture w/ different finishes. These are pigmented enough for me. Esp if you wear an eye primer & a base. They can be a tad chalky but nothing too bad. The shadows are very similar to other drugstore brands like NYC, Covergirl etc. I think they can apply good & blend nicely. Just dont blend too much or they will blend away. Im a drugstore only girl so i know how to make a cheap shadow work. The Traditional palettes offer those a great choice of day time looks & some dark to smoke out the look for night time. Add some liquid or gel liner to complete. I think these shadows are great to add to other shadows. To help transition or blend with other shadows. These work great w/ any shadow. I always have either one of these palettes with me on the go. They are great to take w/ you since it has 12 different shadows for so many looks. I love them. I wish i wouldve stocked up a few more while i could get the older version but thats ok. LA Colors has some amazing shadows.. These are good!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The LA Colors Traditional palettes come in two different packages. The older version- comes in a standard hard plastic compact w/ a see through lid w/ LA Colors logo on lid & Traditional shade name on sticker on bottom of compact. Inside is 3 rows w/ 4 shadows across. There is also a double ended foam tip applicator included. The updated version- comes in the standard hard plastic compact w/ a see through lid w/ LA Colors logo and Tradtional shade name located on the bottom. Inside is 2 rows with 6 shadows across. Included is a double ended foam tip applicator. These are the best packaging but ive had no problems with either. Compact & slim enough to pack along or place in makeup collection. Great for on the go traveling or whatever your needs may be. I think the product inside is what counts the most but these havent cracked or broke on me yet so ive had them forever. You get a decent amount of each shadow. About a dime size or bigger pans. Overall, i think these Traditional palettes are great for anyone to try out. Esp those on a budget like myself & those that need some basics. You get 12 great shadows from white, beige, browns, taupes, graiges... I love em all!!

Highlighters -E.L.F. - Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal
Christinaann5 9/18/2010 10:38:00 AM
I Love these little gems! I understand some of the low ratings but im telling u now if ur disappointed its one of two things 1. You are using to much or 2 you got a bad one that wasnt mixed properly at the factory. I have experience both problems and have feel in love with these whips that i have all colors and backups for all. ~~~~~~~~~~PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Elf Shimmering Facial Whips are available of course on the eyeslipsface website as well as varying shades at various Target, KMart, Sears Grand stores. There are 8 different shades to pick from. The price, is unreal! These little tubes only cost $1!! yes one of the items that perform way past their price! So def affordable! dirt cheap! ~~~~~~~~ SHADE/FORMULA/PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~ The Elf Shimmering Facial Whips are a cream liquid highlighting product. They do have almost of a whipped feel to them. The consistency can differ between each tube/shade but if you do get a bad one- it will be separated. But these should feel like a thicker cream whip. These all have an iridescent sheen to them. These make perfect liquid/cream highlighters. These can be applied on all areas of your face, lips &eyes. I think these are too drying on the lips & too frosty for my liking but could def work. These also can be used as a primer/base for eyeshadows. Lilac Petal is one of my favorite colors. Its a soft pastel silver lilac but more pinky pastel color but it will blend out to an iridescent sheen. Its beautiful on all skin tones/shades. I love this one for highlighting my face. Not an unnatural shade like a few. These are easy to apply. Less is more in this case. Only need less than a kernel size amount to use on the whole face since I typically use these on my cheekbones, cupids bow, brow bone & bridge of nose. Lilac Petal is creamy & easy to blend. I have normal to dry skin & i havent had any problems with these clinging to dry spots or being hard to apply. They work great with your fingers or brushes. I think my fingers help to blend in with the skin. I suggests using these after liquid/cream products & def BEFORE powder products otherwise they will cake up. & setting these with a dusting of powder will ensure this will stay put for hours. I notice these are still illuminating after 7 hrs. Great performers & beautiful color!! I love these. Also as a cream base, i suggests using the THINNEST layer possible over eye primer. And make sure to blend out for an even layer. These give somewhat of a stickier base for the powder shadows to cling to. Its great for loose or mineral eyeshadows. Lilac Petal, Citrus, Spotlight remind me of other highlighters that are 20x the cost like Benefit High Beam, Smashbox Luminizing Lotion. These work just as great. Ive swatched High Beam in the store & the Whips are a tad more thicker which i prefer. ~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Elf Shimmering Facial Whips come in a clear see through plastic squeeze tube. The tube is small, fits in the palm of my hand. These contain 0.34 oz of product. Which may not seem like alot but they are very concentrated & only a tiny bit is needed so these tubes will last forever. Ive had a few of these for over a year & still barely through it. They havent changed or dried up any. There is Elf logo & product name located on front in silver writing & a very tiny sticker with shade name located on the twist on tip. The squeezable point/spout allows you to squeeze out as much as needed easily. The only problem is that the tip can break off, ive had that happen to me (i ended up transferring it to a jar which worked as well.) I like how small & compact these are. Def can be thrown into any bag. I brought this on my vacation recently & it came in handy!!! Overall, these are an amazing $1 gem! I have reached for this over & over in my daily makeup routine. I love that something that cost $1 (which not much does anymore) can be so great! Its a gorgeous highlighter. a great alternative to Benefit HighBeam for those like myself that cannot afford makeup at that cost! Its gorgeous & beautiful. & highlighting really made my makeup game change. It makes my skin look glowy in a good way! i always get compliments that i look good!

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Custom Eyes - Dusk #2509
Christinaann5 9/17/2010 11:19:00 PM
Love this black shadow! I own almost all elf eye element shadows and in two of my compact quads i have dusk in each one bc i use it so much.. Black slight shimmer (not glittery), butter smooth, loosely packed but still great, blends great. I always use primer so not sure how is w-out but its great for adding definition to outer v and blending out and looks great. Im pale and its not to much. Will def. Rebuy when i run out. Def worth at least 5x much (and im broke and dont spend alot on each purchase) i get compliments on looks when i use this color as well as with all elf shadows i love the element shadows and compact is great. This color is great for smoky eye, definin outer v, lining top lash line alone or to top liners and addin to lower lash line. I love it. I dont find it too shimmery either perfect actually. Just be careful of fallout since its black. I get that with any color or brand. It will help if u initially 'pat' shade on then blend which im sure u all know..
