Treatments -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair (Serum)
rated 5 of 5

I've used this product ever since it first came out. I apply it under my nighttime moisturizer. It seems to add moisture to my skin and help my moisturizer work better. It doesn't irritate my very dry and sensitive skin. I find that it is more readily absorbed if I keep my skin exfoliated. If not, I need to apply it several times before it feels like it's been absorbed. UPDATE: 6/21/09 - This product was discontinued and replaced with Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex. The new formulation has a thinner texture and isn't as moisturizing.

Moisturizers -Earth Science - Apricot Intensive Night Creme
rated 1 of 5
georgia21 10/3/2008 1:29:00 PM

My skin is very dry and sensitive. I tried this as a day cream, but even after two applications, my skin didn't feel sufficiently moisturized. It might work for someone whose skin is isn't as dry as mine. It's paraben-free, hypo-allergenic, and contains no animal ingredients. It's not tested on animals. It has a small amount of fragrance.

Cleansers -Earth Science - A-D-E Creamy Cleanser
rated 3 of 5

This natural fruit oil cleanser works O.K. on my very dry and sensitive skin - it doesn't cause dryness or irritation. It's a thick, non-foaming lotion in a plastic container with a dispenser top. It left my skin feeling soft and moisturized. The product is not tested on animals. In addition to being paraben free, this cleanser is also hypo-allergenic and has no animal ingredients. I find the lotion to be too thick so I won't repurchase.

Cleansers -Physicians Formula - Gentle Cleansing Lotion
rated 1 of 5

This cleanser feels soothing on my dry and sensitive skin. It's a medium-textured lotion that requires a damp washcloth for removal. ( I use a separate makeup remover.) The lotion is a little too thick for me, so I no longer use it.

Skincare - Face -La Roche Posay - Thermal Spring Water
rated 1 of 5
georgia21 5/27/2008 1:27:00 PM

I used the mist only once. It felt good on my skin, but I developed a some itchiness a short while later. I have concerns as to the safety of propellant-type products. Paula Begoun says in her book, "Don't go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me, 7th edition," that "the nitrogen used as a propellant to create a mist of water can generate free-radical damage and cause cell death." She cites three sources for her comment. I then tried Crystal Geyser Alpine Spring Water in a spray container. That irritated my skin, especially my neck, so it must be the minerals in both products that caused the problem.

Cleansers -La Roche Posay - Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser
rated 1 of 5

The Toleriane line is for "intolerant skin," which is another word for sensitive. This cleanser contains only seven ingredients, plus water, which is the first ingredient. While this cleanser may work for sensitive normal skin, it left my sensitive and dry skin feeling even more dry.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 2 of 5

I used Cetaphil for several years, but now that my skin is very dry, it's not moisturizing enough. I like that it 's inexpensive and has only a few ingredients, but dislike that it contains three parabens.

I use this conditioner together with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Shampoo. I like it because it it lightly conditions and balances the conditioners in the Neutrogena Shampoo.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - free and clear conditioner
rated 5 of 5
georgia21 5/10/2008 3:18:00 PM

This conditioner is designed for those with sensitive and oily scalps, so it's not a moisturizing conditioner. It doesn't contain dyes, lanolin, fragrance, masking fragrance, protein, parabens, formaldehyde, or silicones. My scalp is sensitive and my hair and scalp are dry. I use this conditioner after washing with a moisturizing shampoo and for co-washing. It leaves my hair full of body and shine.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Free & Clear Liquid Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
georgia21 5/10/2008 3:12:00 PM

The cleanser is too strong for my facial and body skin, which is dry and sensitive. I tried diluting it half and half with distilled water and using it as a body and hand wash, and it was OK for this purpose.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Free and Clear Hair Styling Gel
rated 5 of 5

This gel provides a strong hold. I use a small amount on my medium textured, slightly dry, somewhat curly hair. It leaves my hair with shine and fullness and holds my curl.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Free and Clear Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
georgia21 5/10/2008 2:50:00 PM

This shampoo is designed for sensitive oily scalp. It doesn't contain conditioners, dyes, lanolin, fragrance, masking fragrance, protein, parabens, or formaldehyde. My scalp is sensitive and both my scalp and hair are dry, and my scalp itches. Also, my hair is color-treated. This shampoo doesn't irritate my scalp, but it makes my scalp and hair very dry because of its lack of conditioners. However, if I follow with a moisturizing conditioner, such as Neutrogena Triple Moisture, I'm able to use it.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
rated 5 of 5
georgia21 5/9/2008 1:40:00 PM

Aquaphor is the best night cream I've found for my very dry and very sensitive skin. The main ingredient in Aquaphor is petrolatum, which is the only ingredient in Vaseline. Aquaphor also contains mineral oil, ceresin, lanolin alcohol, panthenol, glycerin, and bisabolol. It's these ingredients that help to make Aquaphor a healing product. It doesn't contain any preservatives. Preservatives are only necessary for products that contain water. After cleansing, I spray on Crystal Geyser Alpine Spring Water. While my skin is still damp, I put on the Aquaphor This method adds water to my skin and the Aquaphor seals it in.

Treatments -Eucerin - Redness Relief Anti-Aging Serum [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
georgia21 5/7/2008 4:58:00 PM

I used the serum with the cream on top. For the first few days, the slight redness on my cheeks lessened. However, after a week, the redness seemed to have gotten worse, so I returned both serum and cream. I'm using Aquaphor to heal my cheek area, and that seems to be working well..

I used the serum with the night cream on top. For the first week, the redness on my cheeks lessened. Then, the redness seemed to get worse, so I stopped using both products and returned them. I'm using Aquaphor to heal my cheek area, and that seems to be working well.
