Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
3110hello 12/16/2009 7:32:00 PM
This clear nail top coat and sealer is a good buy. I have used many "fast drying" top coats and this is up there with the best. It seems to last a little longer that some others I have used, dries my nails quickly and doesn't get so thick in its consistency that half way through the bottle I have to pitch it. (many do) I do my nails about every other night and so I can't really comment on the chipping nature of it - for me it has been great.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Black Out Mascara
3110hello 12/8/2009 8:41:00 PM
Expected sooo much more. Every review I had read was flattering and I splurged and spent the (way too much) money for this. The wand / brush is too large and I didn't see any difference between it and any other mascara I had tried in the last several months in my search for a great mascara. High end/low end ... I just can't figure out the best...but I would shoot (so far) for Lancome deficils on the high end and L'oreal Voluminous on the lower. I think Dior products are great but way overpriced for what you get. Guess if you got lots of $$$ - ?

Blush -Revlon - Matte Powder Blush in Rose Rapture
3110hello 12/7/2009 9:02:00 PM
This blush is a very good product for a Revlon drugstore buy! Although it takes a little layering to get good color payoff - this applies nicely over a little cream blush and will then stay on all day. I think the colors (all of them) are pretty but it is this Rose Rapture color that works best on me. I use products that are all price ranges and I like this as well or better than some of the high priced ones!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Ricepaper Eyeshadow
3110hello 12/7/2009 8:19:00 PM
This shadow has a lot more color pay off than you would think looking at it in the store. I swatched it before I purchased it but was very pleasantly surprised when I got it home and started to use it. It works as a highlighter and if layered, works over a good base on my lid if I want a very light or natural look. Great basic staple for your eyeshadow collection.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Glossing Cream with Olive Oil
3110hello 12/6/2009 4:34:00 PM
I have naturally curly hair that is colored and porous and I often straighten it. When I use a hot iron on it and the blow dryer I find I need something to help it not be so frizzy - especially in the back. This product does the trick. I apply just a dab to the end of a finger and then rub my hands together, then make sure some of it gets into whatever piece of hair I am working with. The glossing cream smooths the hair down and leaves it frizz-free and shiny. It is expensive but the tube is large and I have had mine quite some time. There are other products that work well for this but right now the Fekkai cream is my fave.

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
3110hello 12/6/2009 4:27:00 PM
I have the driest skin - runs in the family. The only product I have for years consistently used in the winter is vaseline with some cocoa butter dissolved into it. When I slather this on at night and then throw on some PJs I wake up with wonderfully smooth legs and arms. Is it messy? Without a doubt! Is it worth it? For sure! Take two or three sticks on pure cocoa butter and melt them in the microwave - take the vaseline out of the container, mix in the butter and voila! you have a great heavy duty moisturizer for your skin. I only do this at night because it is slow to absorb! One of the great timeless beauty products out there.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner in BlackBrown
3110hello 12/5/2009 10:32:00 PM
I have used expensive liners and cheap ones. This is by far the best - regardless of the price and where you buy it. It does not irritate my eyes at all, even when I line my water line with it. The color is there until you take it off (although you could reapply on the water line after four or five hours for it to be as vivid as it was in the a.m.) It is smooth and easy to apply but not too heavy. I highly recommend this liner - I have it in several colors but the black/brown suits me.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
3110hello 12/5/2009 10:11:00 PM
I don't like this product. I bought it in the "sin" version and I don't think it is anywhere near as effective on my lids as a MAC paint pot or paint. I like the way that MAC products color the skin of my lids so that they are not discolored and my shadow goes on true to color and stays on forever. At first I thought it would be fine but I must confess that this is a time I would veer someone away from the primer and over to the pots/paints. It could be my age - at 55 my lids are definitely discolored more than when I was younger but well - this product is just not for me.

I have been using this moisturizer every night for over a month and I think it has been very effective in hydrating my face. I am 54 and this product leaves my face feeling refreshed and soft - I can see a visable difference in my complexion. Recommend this.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Maira's Mood (Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection)

Very disappointing for a MAC eyeshadow. No pigmentation, one of the worst eyeshadows I have ever purchased from them. Do not waste your time or money.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Plumage - Matte e/s

This color is so rich and works both in the crease and on the lid. It is intense and very pigmented and is great with my brown eyes. Highly recommend it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Gilt by Association
3110hello 12/4/2009 12:52:00 AM
This is absolutely the most gorgeous eyeshadow I have ever purchased. I had watched a tutorial on you tube where the make up artist used this and I knew I just had to have it. I have brown eyes and applied to the lid over NYX's "rust" jumbo it is just beautiful! The color stayed on all day and was vivid and until I removed it. I had to buy it on ebay because it is out of stock and hard to find but even though I had to pay more for it I would do it again. Buy it if you can get it and don't let the black aspect scare you - it is fantastic!! P.S. This is in my top five MU finds for 2009!

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
3110hello 12/2/2009 12:55:00 AM
Used this product for years with my fine, porous curly hair .... it was my original oil product and although I have used others I still think it is the HG of anit frizz products for curly and/or damaged hair. There is no doubt that it weighs hair down if too much is used but if appropriately applied to needy hair it is a godsend. Rather pricey - the big drawback - but worth it!

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin
3110hello 12/1/2009 11:04:00 PM
I like this foundation primer. It is not my favorite, that would be Clarins Instant Smoothing Primer, however, for a lightweight primer to use when in a hurry, I think it does the trick. The packaging is great - the product is easy to use and applies well - a little goes a long way. I like the consistency on my face and find that it does help the application of my make up - perhaps more help with that than making my foundation last a long time. Not perfect, but I do like it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl

I think I am the only one who does not find this shadow easy to work with and/or flattering. I don't think it is easy to blend and seems too overwhelming for my eyes. Perhaps it is just not as good with my complexion as it is with others but I would not purchase this again. And I am a MAC addict...
