Skincare - Body -La Mer - the hand treatment
rated 4 of 5

the only reason i would not purchase is due to the hefty price tag...otherwise, this is a wonderful handcream. it is rich and thick and seriously moisturizing. it has a pleasant green tea/verbena scent. it takes a few minutes to sink in but leaves the hands smooth. also, i do not have age spots (yet) but this is said to lighten them. overall, a lovely product but for the hefty pricetag, it is no better nor worse than other handcreams on the market.

Scrubs -Origins - Pomengranate Polish
rated 1 of 5

this stuff is the WORST!!! first of all, it has so much red dye, whether it's from the actual fruit or it's a synthetic...i do not know, but it turned everything in my white bathroom "red". it looks like the shower scene from the movie "psycho". also, it's very difficult to rinse off (kind of like removing the sand stuck on your legs from suntan lotion after a long day at the beach). lastly, after all that work (removing it from my body, cleaning it from the shower stall) it doesn't do much in the way of moisturizing. not only would i NOT purchase this again, i actually threw it out rather than swap it to some unsuspecting swapper.

Lip Gloss -Becca - Glossy Lip Tint
rated 3 of 5

the glossy lip tint in pink, is a perfect shear natural lips but better, pink. unfortunatly, with the hefty price tag ($18) and the fact that the gloss had virtually no staying power (lasted about 45 minutes), i would not repurchase. it's a nice enough product but there are far better quality glosses on the market. save your $$.

Mascara -Becca - water resistant mascara
rated 3 of 5

although i am very loyal to my lancome mascaras in black, i tried this based on the color alone. the brown is a perfect shade for natural light. it is a deep chocolate brown without red or black in it. the color is the first brown i ever thought looked totally natural. the mascara lasts well with no flaking. my only complaint is the mascara brush. with lancome, one or two swipes leaves me with long perfect lashes. with the becca, i had to swipe four or five times to get the same effect. it's a good product overall but i doubt i'll repurchase this.

Highlighters -Becca - Gypsy Pressed Shimmer Powder
rated 3 of 5

i think this powder is a wonderful alternative for ladies who can't wear nars orgasm blush because it's so orange-y. this is a rosey pink pressed powder with shimmer. it is just lovely as a blush. it wears well and the packaging is great. i'd like to see the price lower but there is a generous amount of product in the container.

Skincare - Body -Simplyscents - rise and shine body spray
rated 5 of 5
dinahad 4/6/2002 8:53:00 AM

rise and shine is a delightful melange of pinapple, apple, peach, strawberry and orange with pinapple being the predominant note. the scent is fabulous (bright, fruity and crisp with the perfect marraige of tart and sweet). the body spray is a lovely way to layer rise and shine for a longer lasting scent. the spray is true to the lotion/soap scent and contains aloe vera as a softening agent. at first spray, the scent is concentrated but after about 20 minutes, it blends to a nice mild version of the scent. it is priced competitively and i look forward to trying more scents in the simplyscents body sprays.

Gels/Soaps -Child Perfume - child perfumed bath gel
rated 5 of 5
dinahad 4/6/2002 8:45:00 AM

other than the average packaging, i have nothing but raves for this product. the scent is true to the child oil and the lather is rich and luxurious. when rinsed off, the gel leaves a sheen to the skin that is moisturizing enough that you do not have to apply additional moisturizer. also, the gel leaves a nice lighter version of the child oil scent on the skin so that it is ideal for layering, but can also be worn alone (especially nice in warmer weather). the $40 price tag appears a bit high but in reality, a tiny bit of gel goes a long way. overall a superior bath gel with a fabulous scent and wonderful moisturizing properties.

Lip Treatments -Prada - Tinted Shielding Balm spf 15
rated 5 of 5
dinahad 4/6/2002 8:39:00 AM

i was in love with the original prada balm so the tinted balms were an added bonus. i have thinner lips and it's difficult to find products that don't slide off. these balms stay put!! the smell is terrific (citrus-y) and the SPF is a much needed plus. i have tried #2, #3 and #5 so far. the #2 has barely any color and is very nude on me. #3 has a bit more color and appears to be a neutral peach/tan on me. #5 is fabulous. although it is described as a chocolate brown, on me it has a brownish berry stain, it is fairly heavily pigmented too. the packaging is cute and the price (although it seems high at first) is fair. $38 will get you 10 doses. each dose lasts 1 to 2 weeks on me with fairly regular use. i would definitely order this product again and hope to keep these stocked as a staple.
