Fragrances -Chanel - Bois des Iles
tabloid 8/25/2005 2:51:00 PM
I tried this today in a Chanel boutique and my reaction is - what a gorgeous fragrance! When I first put it on, I found it overwhelmingly woodsy (the name, Bois des Iles, translates literally to '"Woods of the Islands") but after a few minutes, the floral and spicy elements began to emerge. The end result is a very warm, soft and sophisticated fragrance. It faded after only a few hours but I think this is because I tried the EDT. The parfum probably has more staying power.

Polishes -OPI - Hey Vito Is My Car Red-y?
tabloid 8/23/2005 6:21:00 PM
I first wore this at the beginning of summer, before I got a tan, and wasn't sure I liked it: I found it a bit too bright, a bit too orangey. I just tried it again, now that I have a tan (part sunshine, part self-tanner) and the color looks perfect.

Polishes -OPI - Nailpolish in Far East Fuschia [DISCONTINUED]
tabloid 8/23/2005 6:17:00 PM
This is one of my favorite colors for summer. It's a true fuchsia (hot pink with blue undertones) and looks fabulous with a tan.

Polishes -OPI - Hopelessly in Love

I bought this thinking it would be a sheer pale pink, but I find it too milky and opaque (and that's with just one coat).

Eye Makeup Remover -Klorane - Soothing Eye Makeup Remover with Cornflower Sensitive Eyes
tabloid 8/17/2005 12:00:00 PM
I love this! I have very sensitive eyes and have had allergic reactions to eye make-up removers in the past, so I'm thrilled to find something which not only does a great job (removes my eye make-up quickly and easily) but also does not sting or irritate my eyes. Up to now, I've used Biotherm gel for sensitive eyes, but this is better and cheaper. By the way, this review is for the eye make-up remover in the bottle, not the wipes which I didn't like.

Eye Makeup Remover -Klorane - Eye Makeup Removal Wipes with Cornflower
tabloid 8/12/2005 10:51:00 AM
These disposable wipes are supposed to take off eye makeup but they do are a terrible job with mascara (and no, I'm not wearing the waterproof kind). I had to rub and rub and rub for about five minutes to get the mascara off. At least it didn't irritate my eyes but I think it's back to the drawing board for this product.

Shampoo -Matrix - Biolage - Ultra Hydrating Shampoo
tabloid 8/12/2005 10:46:00 AM
My husband swears by this shampoo (which is actually the improved version of the original Biolage Hydrating Shampoo) and will not use anything else. I was reluctant to use it since the bottle says it's for coarse hair and mine is fine and colored. Well, I gave it a try and I love it. Unlike many shampoos made for processed hair, it does not dry it out but instead leaves it soft, shiny and full (then again, my hair was looking somewhat damaged after a summer of extreme heat, sunshine, chlorine, etc.). Will definitely continue to repurchase, not only for hubby but myself as well.

Beautiful shimmering mix of deep cranberry and burgundy. It is really is a fall and winter color and would be too deep for spring or summer.

Mascara -Almay - Almay intense i-color brown topaz
tabloid 8/3/2005 9:44:00 AM
This is a great color, a dark brown which is intense but still softer than black or brown-black. I'm wearing it in August and it looks wonderful with my tan. The mascara itself is fine, too, it doesn't clump or smear. While I usually prefer a more volumizing mascara, this is fine.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Powder Blush in Desert Rose
tabloid 7/13/2005 12:58:00 PM
I'm surprised by other reviewers' comments that they find this brown-based; it's a cool pink with no hint of brown, peach or any other warm tones. The texture is fine, but the cool color just accentuates my rosacea; from now on, I'll stick to pinks with a brown undertone.

Sunscreen -Lancome - Soleil Ultra SPF 40 Ultra protection face and body lotion
tabloid 7/4/2005 4:10:00 PM
I really like this product, not only because of its high SPF but also because it does not irritate my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin at all. I've worn it to go boating in July and it does a great job of protecting my skin from the sun. It does go on shiny, but I just dust some loose powder over my face and the result is quite matte. It is fairly pricey, but then I just use it on my face; I don't have the same problems with sensitivity when it comes to my body, for which I'll happily use a less-expensive, drugstore sunscreen.

Sunscreen -Ombrelle - SPF 30 Lotion
tabloid 7/4/2005 4:04:00 PM
This sunscreen irritated my face and made my rosacea worse. I later found out why - this product contains Parsol 1789, which is a very effective chemical sun block, but not recommended for sensitive skin, which it tends to irritate.

Eye Makeup Remover -Biotherm - Biocils Eye Makeup Remover Gel
tabloid 6/28/2005 4:17:00 PM
I bought the formula for sensitive eyes and I love it. I've had bad allergic reactions in the past with other eye make-up removers (including those made by Clinique and Lancome) so this has become my HG. It does a very good job of removing my eye make-up, too (I don't wear waterproof mascara or other waterproof eye make-up, so I don't know how effective this would be).

Polishes -OPI - Rosy Future
tabloid 6/28/2005 12:12:00 PM
Love this shade, especially in the summer when I have a tan. It's sheer pink with a lilac iridescence, quite a change from the sheer pink or beiges I usually wear.

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Fleurs des Caraibes
tabloid 6/28/2005 12:03:00 PM
I received a sample of this - I would never buy it on my own. It's overly sweet, cloying and heavy - like a mixture of over-ripe fruit and strong florals. I couldn't wait to wash it off.
