Moisturizers -Eucerin - Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme

I just erased my original review. when I first reviewed this, I had just begun on my skin care journey and was inexperienced - I didn't know about ingredients at all really & had not tried many things. anyway, this cream is pretty average, and I have tried a lot I liked more...it did not break me out, so that is a big plus! I do not think it particularly clogged pores, so again, a big plus! But I couldn't stand the smell...it is very strange. and it is absolutely FULL of parabens, good heavens - 5?! plus other preservatives?
Oh, please listen to the reviewer a few reviews down that advises baking soda should not be used on skin!! I tried this as an exfoliator, and it dried my skin out totally (I'm flaking!), and half of my face so SO red and irritated. It made my nose MORE oil though, increasing my black heads. I think this happened because my skin was so dried out my oil glands overcompensate by producing too much oil. Basically, it's totally thrown my skin out of whack, and I'm now trying to get it back to normal :-( But baking soda DOES work to keep teeth white!! just NOT for skin!
Sometimes these pore strips get a lot of gunk out of my pores, but sometimes they do nothing at all! I'd say 30 to 40% of the time they work. While they are NOT the greastest thing, I keep using them because I can't find any other pore strips that work either. Maybe it's just not a concept that works...
Moisturizers -Alba Botanica - Jasmine and Vitamin E Moisture Cream

While it seems this moisturizer works for a lot of MUA reviewers, sadly it has not worked for me :-( I'm breaking out, and I never break out. I think it has just clogged my pores because my blackheads also seem bigger. It's just too heavy, I guess. I think I'll keep using it on my neck and I really like it as a hand cream, but not for my face.
Hair Styling Tools -Sedu - Ionic Ceramic Professional Flat Iron (Original)

The BEST straightening iron I've ever used. Even better than CHI. It somehow infuses my hair with lots of shine and does not make it dry at all. It also straightens a lot quicker than others I have tried. I love that I can adjust teh temperature too. If it breaks, I'll definitely buy another one.
Treatments -The Body Shop - Illuminating Face Treatment with Kinetin

I guess this is OK, but nothing special. I bought it for a night cream (recommended by the sales girl at the Body Shop), but it is not moisturizing enough for a winter night cream. Honestly, in the past 3 months I've seen no improvement in my skin whatsoever, definitely not the "illuminating" and revitalizing/ tone evening they claim. I'll keep searching for the perfect moisturizer...
I use this with the Be Curly shampoo, so I can't say how this conditioner would be on its own. the shampoo and conditioner together work WONDERS for my hair. My hair was falling out, was frazzled and dry. I tried so many products and the more I tried the worse my hair was getting. (too many chemicals?) Then I started using and sticking to this shampoo and conditioner and my hair is TWICE as thick as it was, and I lose barely any. My hair is moisturized and shiny and healthy! what more can I say? Miracle product.
Blush -Aveda - Petal Essence Face Accents - Peach Lights

for fair skin (like mine) this gives a warm, natural glow. it's a very pretty blush, and I plan to repurchase. It's one of the best colors I've used - usually blushes turn up too orangey or red on me, but this one blends very naturally. I do wish it had some shimmer - it doesn't have any at all, but then again, it is supposed to be a natural look. the down side is you have to buy a separate compact to keep it in, but once you do that you won't have to ever buy one again because it is refillable.
This was my first time to purchase MAC eye shadow, and I have really liked the texture and quality of this product. It stays on really well, too. The color of Amber Lights is more bronze than gold. it is a pretty color - but if you are looking for gold you may want something lighter. I have very fair skin, so that is maybe why it turns up bronze on me. I dust it over a taupe eyeshadow, and it then is a pretty gold color. This shadow looks beautiful with black eyeliner - a very sophisticated classy look. I also combine it with a light green shadow in the crease sometimes for a look that makes green eyes pop :-)
This is the product I've been looking for! I have fine curly hair, which works well with the Aveda Be Curly cream when it is short. But now that it is long, I have more waves and fuzz than curls, and the Be Curly cream is just not helping hold the waves in place. I need something stronger for my long fine hair. Ta da, the Confixor seems to be it! I've worn it several days now and been really pleased - it defines my waves and curls and keeps the poofy fuzz at bay. It also does not give that "cruncy" curl look I hate - it is soft curls that are defined- perfect! It also makes my hair feel much thicker and gives some volume. I still use a little bit of the Be Curly cream, and a little more of the Confixor. If you put too much, your hair may be sticky.
I've never understood why so many people like this mascara, or even how they use it. I've tried it a couple of times, once years ago, and once more recently, and both times I threw it away. It is soooo clumpy!! definitely not lengthening, not volumizing, not curling, NOTHING but a mess.
definitely not a very good product. It looks OK on for an every day mascara, but nothing special. It doesn't add much length but does give sufficient volume. However, it smudges and flakes off terribly!! If I even rub my eye I have a big black smudge, and after a long day it starts flaking too. I'm not buying it again, and have had better luck with L'Oreal or Max Factor mascaras for half the price. Also the top of my tube cracked for some unknown reason so they definitely cheaped out on the packaging!
I've worn this foundation every day for the past 2 years. In between I've tried many others (mineral powder foundations, Origins, etc) but I ALWAYS end up back with this Clinique foundation. Nothing gives as smooth a coverage or is as easy to apply. The bottle makes it really easy to apply, and it is creamy, not runny, so it never makes a mess. It gives medium coverage, and looks natural. Most importantly, it stays on all day without getting greasy. the only downside is that it doesn't smooth over my pores perfectly like some other foundations I have tried; but, it does not cake up or accentuate my pores either. It also has never ever irritated my skin. Looks like it's in my make up drawer to stay! p.s. I wore it for my wedding and it photographed beautifully! p.s. 2 - I looked at the ingredient list on the box in Sephora, and it is paraben free :)
Styling Products -Aveda - Hang Straight [DISCONTINUED]
ashleydutta 2/13/2009 2:46:00 AM
I usually love Aveda products, and their hair products are especially great quality...except for this one! I really wasted my money. I have fine, fuzzy, curly hair, and it made it even worse. When I used it my hair was: sticky unusually dry a fuzzy mess I do better to put NO product on my hair!
UPDATE: changed my mind about this product, as it tends to build up in the hair quite a bit after using frequently. hair becomes dulll. OLD REVIEW: After months, even years, of trying products for curly hair, this is the winner. It gives me shiny (unusually shiny), bouncy curls, and controls frizz better than any other product I've used. A little bit goes a long way, so a bottle lasts a while, too!
