Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Sensual Sage
Splee 5/2/2004 3:17:00 PM
Once again Wet 'n' Wild gets my vote for "Most Improved Cosmetic Brand." The colour selection of their eye shadow pots is limited, but Sensual Sage is great! It’s a sage-y green with a hint of gold and just a touch of yellow. It is soft, pigmented, and best of all cheap! I hope they come out with some more colours.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Trax
Splee 4/25/2004 6:37:00 PM
I was not impressed with this when I first put it on a few days ago, but then again I had to go to work so I used a light hand. With a lighter application this shadow looks very brown with a hint of purple and copper sparkles. The next day I layered it on thick and it looked amazing! It became a deep eggplant-y purple with copper sparkles, which reminds me of a colour you'd see in Moroccan decorating design themes (I've been watching Changing Rooms too much again.) I love how it looks first thing in the morning, but by midday it fades to more of a brown so I have to touch it up to maintain the purple-ness. I don't really like spending $12.50 on a shadow that needs touch-ups, but I do really enjoy the colour so I'll put up with it. I wish that MAC would reformulate their shadows so that they could be used wet or dry (they tend to develop a hard crusty top layer when you use them wet.)

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing in Goldie Looks
Splee 4/22/2004 7:28:00 PM
This is the best gold eye shadow I have ever seen. It is a medium gold with a bronze-gold shimmer that looks spectacular with Magical Mushroom and Twilight Zone. I’m kicking myself for not discovering this one sooner!

Eye Shadow -MAC - All-Girl Pigment
Splee 4/17/2004 5:02:00 PM
This is my first Pigment. All Girl is a very sparkly pink lilac colour that is the epitome of versatility! This shade looks great as a lip gloss, eye shadow, highlighter, and blush. Used dry it is sheer enough to give eyes and cheeks extra sparkle, and used wet this colour is really vibrant and beautiful! I love this blended with greens and purples on my eyes. On lips it is gorgeous too, the versatility of this Pigment makes it well worth the money.

Lipstick -Jane - Lipkick- Dramatic
Splee 4/15/2004 5:07:00 PM
I think Lipkicks just might make me a believer in wearing lipsticks more often (85% of the time I exclusively wear lip gloss.) Dramatic is a light bronze brown with bronze coloured shimmer. The pigmentation and staying power of this lipstick is great and the silver packaging is beautiful. I love this colour a lot more than I thought I would, it complements my auburn hair and green eyes nicely. I really have nothing bad to say about Lipkicks!

Lipstick -Jane - Lipkick- Romantic Rose
Splee 4/15/2004 5:06:00 PM
I love these new lipsticks! Romantic Rose is a vibrant dark berry with a hint of pink/rose and a slight shimmer. The pigmentation is fantastic, and it lasts for hours. I think that these lipsticks are less drying than the Lip Huggers are. Lipkicks are a tiny bit dry, but this is not meant to be a "glossy" lipstick (i.e. must be reapplied every 5 minutes.) Huge massive raves for the packaging; it is a sophisticated-looking sleek silver tube that clicks shut. No complaints here!

Blush -L'Oreal - Blush Delice in Raspberry Sorbet ] [DISCONTINUED]
Splee 4/10/2004 1:02:00 PM
This rivals my beloved Jane Petal as my favorite blush. It is a lovely shimmery raspberry colour that is not at all loud or obnoxious on the cheeks, in fact it applies very sheer and gives you a healthy "I just got some lovin'" flush. The compact is small and adorable, though I wish it was a little easier to open. I really like the brush it comes with and there is even a little mirror in the compact. It is a bit spendy for a drugstore blush, but I'd definitely buy this again.

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing in Mythology
Splee 4/8/2004 4:46:00 PM
I love this one! Mythology looks a rather bland beige in the pan, but add water to a brush and swipe this across your eyelids, and you will have millions of beautiful tiny light beige/gold shimmer particles lighting up your lids. I love to wear this with dark liquid liners. The versatility of this shade is great; I think it has even surpassed my beloved Sungloss and my favorite neutral Eye Zing!

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing in Shrinking Violet
Splee 4/3/2004 4:24:00 PM
This is one of the few Eye Zings I have not liked. Shrinking Violet is a light lilacy lavender shade that has zero pigmentation, even used wet and having applied three layers. It is not even pigmented enough to use as a highlighting shade and the slight shimmer in the pan is pretty much nonexistent on skin. Jane has pleanty of other purple shades worth checking out.

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Juicy Jewels - Garnet Glam
Splee 3/30/2004 4:22:00 PM
Garnet Glam is a dual ended lip gloss that has a sponge doe foot applicator on one end and a brush on the other. The liquid lip stick end is a gorgeous golden bronzed red/rose colour and the lip gloss side is a bright tropical pink. Both colours, despite their intensity in the tube, are very wearable and look great on their own or together. I love the smell! It is just like Hawaiian Punch. Both shades last a decent amount of time (4 hours or so.) I picked this up on clearance for five bucks at Gadzooks.

Eye Shadow -Jane - Eye Zing in Enchantmint
Splee 3/27/2004 4:10:00 PM
This is not one of the most pigmented Eye Zings in the world, but I prefer it that way because this is a wonderful light minty green highlighting shade. Enchantmint looks great paired with darker greens like Deeply Green and Twilight Zone. Has a smooth texture and blends nicely. This is the perfect addition to my ever growing collection of green eye shadows.

Eye Shadow -Jane - eye zing in FAIRY DUST
Splee 3/27/2004 3:11:00 PM
Fairy Dust is a light sky blue that is somewhat similar to Blue Heaven. Both are blues with hints of grey, but Fairy dust is more blue and "springy" in colour. This is one of the less pigmented Zings, so if you're looking for more pigmentation, I would skip this shade. I make it work by using it as a highlighter and to tone down the darkness of some of the other blue Zing shades like Blue Jeans or Surfer Girl. This also makes for a nice light blue wash of colour on the eyelids for those lazy spring days.

Eye Shadow -MAC - "Sprout" eye shadow
Splee 1/10/2004 5:11:00 PM
I must have lucked out with the one I purchased, because the pigmentation and texture is just fine. I love this shade! I am a green eye shadow junkie, and this is different from all the greens I have. Very grassy/lime with a frost finish. While it has the element of disco funkiness, it is also surprisingly every-day wearable in moderation and with the use of a light hand. I tend to like funky, so today I wetted down my brush and blended it with Jane Clubbing and Fuchsia Fusion Radiation. *gorgeous* This shade would also look great blended with gold and bronze colours, as well as other greens. I will enjoy experimenting with Sprout!

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Special Eyes Mono Eye Shadow #151 "Romance"
Splee 7/7/2003 8:45:00 PM
I was looking for a cheapy neutral beige to use as a base for darker eyeshadow. This suited my desire perfectly! I detected a slight shimmer in the pan, but on lids it looks matte. I do wish that the lid had a hinge instead of just "snapping on." Applied very smoothly and lasted for a decent amount of time (six hours or so.)
