Blush -Bobbi Brown - Powder Blush in Pale Pink
rated 4 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/7/2012 10:47:00 PM

Beautiful blush! Don't let the name "pale pink" fool you..I almost did and was going to buy "peony" due to its rave reviews when the Bobbi Brown mua suggested I try pale pink. I'd never have thought to try this colour as it looks so shocking, Barbie doll pink in the pan...more MAC than BB. The name pale pink does it no justice. However when she tried it on me the colour was amazing. It gave my cheeks a "just been pinched" natural flush of colour, but definately not pale...And it is easy to build up the colour. However, I probably won't repurchase because I like experimenting with different blush colours

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Serum De Rouge
rated 3 of 5

I bought this lipstick in 760 which is violet with a subtle shimmer. Although I LOVE the color which makes my blue eyes pop, I don't like how it hardly lasts on my lips. Within half an hour, even without eating or drinking it has all but dissapeared from my lips. I guess it's difficult to create a moisturizing lipstick as this increases the risk of sliding. I don't know about the anti aging properties of this lipstick and quite frankly my dear I do not care! I am 19. This should not even be classed as a lipstick more as a gloss? Hmmm. Won't be re purchasing. If you want a moisturizing lipstick, I find Chanel rouge coco lipsticks have great lasting power with moisturizing properties.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Diorific Long-Wearing True Color Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/7/2012 4:49:00 AM

The perfect lipstick DOES exist! Diorific is definately a whole hearted lipstick...true, hyperpigmented matte colour, no glosses or shimmers in this lippy. The texture is not drying unlike a lot of matte/long lasting lipsticks...but don't get fooled it is not moisturizing. It does not bleed even without using lip liner first and lasts and lasts on your lips. Mine only needed one touch up at lunch time and it stays put on your lips until 6 in the evening. I am a dior addict, so my dior mua gave me 013 for free...which is like a rasberry red...suited me well...(kind of like chanels rouge coco in taffetas rose but without the shimmer and less magenta-ey!) I loved it so much I had to try it in 014...which is a true blood red...I looked like a screen siren with it on... Honestly, it is expensive but definately worth it for elegant, chic ladies. Packaging is beautiful, classic...You can picture Liz Taylor or Grace Kelly applying this..... Must buy!

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Rouge Dior 999 Celebrity Red
rated 3 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/7/2012 4:40:00 AM

This is an okay red lipstick. The colour is great, perfect for my yellow undertones, but slightly fair skin (NC20). It is a true red, meaning that it does not veer toward pink/rasberry territory. Therefore, its definately a going out/nighttime lipstick. I use this after I have outlined and filled in my lips with dior natural beige lipliner. Its texture is nice and creamy. However, I found that its staying power is not long, maybe 3 hours if you are lucky...It does tend to bleed a little even with lipliner and often leaves the dreaded red ring around the lips after drinking/eating which looks atrocious. The packaging is elegant...what do you expect? It's Dior! However, for the aforesaid reasons I won't be repurchasing... I prefer the texture and hyper pigmented red found in Diorific lipsticks (and the red shade is glorious-try 014 for a true fire red or play it safe with a more rasberry red, in 013...I have both and am in love with the textures of diorific)

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Sun & Moon
rated 4 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/7/2012 4:25:00 AM

I used this two years ago when it first came out and lost track of where it was (I eventually found it a few weeks ago in an old handbag). I re tried it and fall in love again with this gem. Firstly, the color is a-maze-ing! A light peachy bronze with subtle shimmer in the pan that translates to a healthy sheen on contact with the skin. Secondly, the texture is beautiful, finely milled that feels ever so silky on the skin. Thirdly, I found that this lasted all day. It is highly pigmented so you definately do not need to layer! There is heaps of product and it hardly looks used even though I have been using this everyday! It also is super duper pretty in the pan...a swirling mix of bronze and peach with shimmer:) On the downside I hate the packaging! It definately is not handbag-proof... The plastic lid covering the blush pan can become disjointed from the pan and fall in to the blush (and is impossible to rejoin!) Therefore, leaving the blush open to the elements so to speak. I won't rebuy again as I suit pink blush better, but this is a great bronze-blush for my skin tone (2 in 1!). By the way I am NC20-25

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Cream Eyeshadow in Ballet Pink
rated 4 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/5/2012 9:32:00 PM

This is a cream eyeshadow with a tinge of pink...fleshy, beige pale pink color with a hint of subtle glimmer...not much and not at all obvious. This didn't crease and I use it as a base for my dior powder eyeshadow in lifting rose palette. I gave it a four rather than a five because its tricky to apply...but oh well!

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/5/2012 9:24:00 PM

I like this foundation, I have horrible acne and acne scars and this provides full coverage on one/two layers of application. It lasts all day and I don't need to apply concealor after as I find this a two-in-one product (foundation and concealor). I use this in NC20 or NC25 depending on the season and top it with Napoleon powder camera finish foundation. Price is a little bit more expensive than a drugstore brand (about $50 australian dollars),but cheaper than dior etc. It didn't break me out and I have super sensitive skin. I gave the packaging a three because it is a pour bottle rather than pump so you can pour too much product out. I won't buy this foundation again because I prefer my Napoleon Perdis stick foundation as it is easier to apply...but if that ever discontinues I will definately come back to this one

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
rated 5 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/5/2012 9:11:00 PM

I do like this concealor, I use it in NW15 to cover my blemishes and dark circles. I have acne scars and very few concealors cover them, but this does. It lasts all day on my skin with powder without need for touch ups. Packaging is good, in a nice squeeze tube...hygenic so you don't have to dip your fingers into a pot unlike the MAC studio sculpt concealor. I won't buy this concealor again just because I hate applying foundation then concealor...I found a foundation that does both in one step perfectly (Napoleon Perdis cover stick)...but if that ever discontinued I'd definately use this again with my dior sculpt foundation

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
rated 4 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/5/2012 9:02:00 PM

I like this foundation, its coverage is light-medium but buildable. I don't like to use it on my face as it breaks me out...not sure what ingredient in it does because I am fine with all other MAC foundations. I use it on my body for photographs as I like to look a shade paler than my natural coloring and cover minor scars and blemishes on my legs. Price is expensive but mine lasted 2 years with continual use over 2 summers. I don't use it in winter. I will definately repurchase

Loose Powders -MAC - Iridescent Powder - Silver Dusk
rated 3 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/5/2012 8:53:00 PM

WHOA, glitter ball alert! I do like this product but in very small doses and in particular places...Definately not an all over face powder. It is a very obvious highlighter, so I prefer to use it as an eyeshadow for nights out, not as a highlighter as it is too obvious! I also mix it in with my body moisturiser to get a glimmer effect on my skin for evenings out... Price is expensive but worth it, as it lasts for ages! I have had mine for 2 years and still have heaps left! Packaging is horrid. Too many holes

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Orchidee 17
rated 5 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/5/2012 5:50:00 AM

This is an absolutely charming lipstick shade...It suits my NC20-25 skintone perfectly, giving it a kiss of colour with a lot of depth without being too bright but not too washed out. The colour is beautiful and in my opinion un-dupeable...It is a shimmery, pink, rosebud red colour veering toward red, but neutral enough so that you can wear dramatic smokey eyes. It is also a day safe bright, meaning you can wear it without being nervous you look like a call girl (as red lips often do during the day). I love this lipstick and will definately repurchase. I had taffetas rose and that was gorgeous too, but more violet/fuschia red with a metallic finish.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Perle 02
rated 3 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/4/2012 12:26:00 AM

I love most Chanel rouge coco lipstick shades, but this one made me look washed out. Perle is a neutral beige-pink, veering towards beige. I am NC20-25 and it looked great on at the store but under normal lights it did not show at all...:( It might suit uber pale girls, but not me! The lasting power is great though that's why I gave it a three.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Taffetas Rose #16
rated 5 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/4/2012 12:22:00 AM

I adore this lipstick. Firstly, it is the most beautiful colour..a magenta with hints of violet, a subtle shimmer (very subtle)...veering towards red, but not quite. It is bright but suitable for day and night...I found mine lasted on my lips for about 4-5hours with only a little bit of fading. It is moisturising, and I think it is a colour that will flatter most skin tones... I am NC20-25 and it suits me just as well as my mom and sisters who are darker and around NC35-40. These really are such elegant lipsticks...I'm a huge Dior fan...I use their powders, foundations, blush, mascara etc, but somehow they can't compete with Coco Chanel's lipsticks... :( Definately will repurchase!

Brows -Smashbox - Brow tech
rated 2 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/1/2012 10:00:00 PM

I like the concept of this. The wax is great but the powder is expensive considering how much product you get! I found a dupe in Bobbi Brown’s eyeshadow in Sable which does the exact same job as brow tech in brunette! Now, I buy the wax pot separately and use Bobbi Browns eyeshadow in sable to fill in my brows! So won’t repurchase

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Eye Shadow- Sable
rated 5 of 5
sabrinarose1990 4/1/2012 9:56:00 PM

I love this. It is such a versatile product. Mine has lasted 4 years and still is nowhere near to finishing. I use this as an eyeshadow and eyebrow powder. As an eyeshadow I use it in my crease or as a middle color underneath my crease. It is a truly neutral brown…not too dark and not too light. It makes my blue eyes pop. I use an angled eyebrow pencil and use this to fill in my brows. I have black hair and this is natural looking but can be built up darker. I used to use the smashbox brow tech powder in brunette for my brows but you get way less product for about the same price, so Bobbi Brown’s is worth every penny. Love it
