Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eyeslicks Gel Eye Color--Pewter
poneegryl 10/30/2005 1:32:00 AM
i just got my 5th eyeslick, this time in PEWTER. it is a beautiful metallic bronzy tan color in a chubby pencil. i am loving the creamy metallic eyeslicks, NOT the shimmery ones (which are too dry IMO) and pewter is no exception. it goes on smooth and stays put. great subtle color w/my MMM skintone. the pencil application is a breeze and totally portable.

Lipstick -Max Factor - Colour Perfection in Chocolate 969
poneegryl 10/30/2005 1:20:00 AM
I have this in Chocolate-- number 310(?) It's a warm brownish/mauvy red which goes so well w/my olivy MMM skin. It stays on when i eat/drink and doesn't get patchy. instead, it wears down layer by layer evenly across the lips until you are left with just a slight stain of color. looks very soft and natural. feels moisturising. i never have to reapply unless im going out in the evening. i can't believe how much i like this shade and the gel formula. i reach for this almost every day. definitely feels like a high-end lippie. my only gripe is that the tube is a bit unwieldy.

Mascara -Max Factor - Lash Lift Mascara
poneegryl 10/30/2005 1:04:00 AM
this is what a mascara should be! i did a side by side comparison with MF 2000 Calorie and i like LASHLIFT better, here's why: Lashlift is THE blackest black, it has a nice teddy-bear brush, dries quickly, lengthens, thickens, and catches/separates each and every lash so well--- it looks like i've got a row of falsies on! best of all, it never flakes or runs. it's almost like a sharpie marker-- permanent until I take it off. and when i do, it sorta just melts or dissolves right off without pulling all my lashes out or irritating my contacts. for $5 at walmart, this rocks my lash-world. edited 1/13/06: i am taking off two lippies because this is irritating my eyes big time! it's like i've developed some allergy to it or something(?)weird. and all the rubbing of my eyes is causing the lashes to fall out. yuck.

Mascara -Max Factor - 2000 Calorie Mascara
poneegryl 10/30/2005 12:56:00 AM
i like MF mascaras. but i like Lashlift better than 2000 cal. here's why: 2000 Calorie in black gives a nice deep shiny finish, decent thickening and lengthening, great teddy-bear brush, good staying power. however, it tends to flake later on, can get a bit spidery, and doesn't fill out any gaps in my lashes. (also shed more lashes w/this than Lashlift). overall okay, but not really impressive... see separate review on MF Lashlift.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Blackest Black
poneegryl 10/30/2005 12:47:00 AM
This mascara totally sux. i really don't get the hype. it's dirt cheap, yeah, but you really get what you pay for here: a skimpy brush, a slimy formula, and raccoon eyes by noon. Not to mention it doesn't plump or elongate at all! the worst was how it made my lashes stick together and FALL OUT. simply terrible. i prefer l'oreal for mascara.

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
poneegryl 10/30/2005 12:41:00 AM
this is a lovely peachy-gold blush. gives a great after-glow effect! my only complaint is that it is so small/soft/crumbly and the lid is tough to pry off. I would definitely de-pot this into another container if i wasn't so scared of breaking it. other than that, great blush, great price at Target. If you see one, grab it up because they are ALWAYS sold out! i get my best blush compliments when i wear this one. edited: took off a lippie bc it finally crumbled and made a huge mess. decided i didn't like the glitter settling in my pores either.

Eye Shadow -New York Color - Scene Stealers- Taxi
poneegryl 7/14/2005 4:19:00 AM
i wanted a cheap "benefit lemon-aide" effect to calm the reddness on morning-after days... well this sorta does it. it's a chalky golden yellow color than goes on pearly and neutralizes my eyelids. the texture is cheapy and the packaging is crappy cardboard. got a great deal @ biglots-- 75 cents. not bad.

got this in a clear flip top palette. don't care for the plain deep brown color but it's ok for brows or lining. soft texture, average pigmentation.

Blush -Burt's Bees - Blushing Creme
poneegryl 4/9/2005 9:53:00 PM
i have this from ebay in "clarity," a great peachy shade w/a dewy finish (and no shimmer). gives me a that *certain* glow! the skin-safe ingredients make me happy:) my only deduction was for that junky aluminum packaging. otherwise, this is my HG creme blush. edited 3/15/06: this is still HG for me. i reach for it everyday, warm it up with a few fingertip swirls, swipe and smooth it across my cheek bones. i hit pan this week and will definitely repurchase. it's not sticky or greasy. i am also going to try the plum shade.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - matte collection quad in classic basics
poneegryl 4/9/2005 9:48:00 PM
great quad for a classic or professional look. a white for highlighting, a flesh-tone for the lid, and a dove grey for the crease. there is also a taupe for lining or brows. these are SUPER soft and last all day. has sponge applicator and little mirror. excellent quality and beautiful colors. i tried many quads before happily choosing this one. I'm on my second one of these. HG.

Primer/ Corrector -Maybelline - Maybelline Coverstick Corrector Concealer
poneegryl 4/9/2005 9:11:00 PM
this looks like a flesh-toned lipstick. i got it because the ingredients are all skin friendly and it was great at first but it dried out fast and it doesn't roll down into the tube all the way so i end up catching the product on the cap when im in a rush. im mmm but i needed "dark beige" to match my skintone. if applied with a brush and set with powder, this does give good coverage, but now i prefer a similar product by cg smoothers.

Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer in Light to Medium
poneegryl 4/9/2005 9:06:00 PM
HG! im on my second tube of this spf 15, sheer tinted moisturizer. it's creamy not runny and blends very well. the finish is totally natural and evens out my skintone w/o looking obvious. "my skin but better!!!" NO harmful ingredients= no irritation. hygienic squeeze tube. great for my dry skin, but you *must* have a separate concealor. i like to set this with powder.
