Lipstick -MAC - Roleplay
maggierose4 2/7/2007 6:49:00 PM
Roleplay quickly has become my everyday lipstick. It's a perfect MLBB shade that can be worn with everything. The sheer shade can be put on as easily as a lip balm. Love it so much I bought two backups. I don't want to be without it.

Misc Beauty Tools -beautyblender - the sponge
maggierose4 1/8/2007 12:58:00 AM
I'd heard raves about this new foam make-up applicator and blender. After trying it myself, I know why people love this "pink egg". Not only is it the cutest beauty tool I own, it works wonderfully also. Unlike other foam make-up sponges, the Beauty Blender's egg shape makes it perfect for the whole face. The pointed end gets into small spaces such as under the eyes and around the nose. The sides and bottom of the Beauty Blender work on the larger areas of the face. You can use this with any type of make-up product from liquid foundations to powdered products. It blends foundations perfectly and seamlessly as well as applying blushes and concealers. Used wet or dry the Beauty Blender just needs a gentle bouncing or twist across your face and features to work. It also doesn't soak up lots of precious make-up in the process. See http://www.beautyblender.net/ for more info.

Lipstick -Guerlain - Kiss Kiss maxi shine chocolate shine
maggierose4 11/24/2006 11:02:00 PM
Gorgeous, sheer and shimmery lip color. Chocolate Shine isn't brown as the name suggests. It's more of a cool plum brown shade that goes on very natural looking but better. This can be worn with many looks, from casual to glam (just add some lip liner underneath). Feels great on the lips too. Kiss Kiss Maxi Shines have more shine and shimmer than Clinique Butter Shines.

Blush -Milani - Shimmer Stripes in Miami Glow 02
maggierose4 10/15/2006 10:27:00 PM
This product totally surprized me. I bought it on a whim. It looked pretty and there was a $2 coupon right next to it. The display was almost empty so I guessed this was a hot item. Indeed it is! The shades in Miami Glow range from a vanilla opal to a rosey brown. When brushed on together they give a beautiful glow to the face, as if a soft light was hitting it. The powder is super fine so it doesn't look glittery. Really excellent product.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Eye Shadow - Woodrose
maggierose4 9/8/2006 5:54:00 PM
Great basic neutral shade. Perfect for daytime use to gently enhance the eyes or to use as a base shade. It's a color I can wear to work or on casual days without people pointing out that I have make-up on. The formula is very fine and blends well. Since the color is pale it's probably best for PPP's or LLL's.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Color Riche Star Secret Aishwarya Beige
maggierose4 9/5/2006 3:50:00 PM
Aishwarya's Beige is a beautiful, soft pink nude color with a touch of pearl. I had to search a few stores before finding this popular color. On me (NW25, pigmented lips) it shows up as a flattering MLBB shade. The only place this lipstick gets deductions is from that awful L'Oreal scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused Honey Dream Hand Cream
maggierose4 8/19/2006 12:06:00 AM
When a guy gives you the unsolicted comment "your hands are so soft" that's when you know a hand cream is working well. That's exactly what happened to me after using B&I's Honey Dream Hand Cream for just a few days.
I've used many different hand creams before. Working in a lab, my hands can become dry and irritated from the gloves and hand washing. In Winter .. forget it! My hands are usually so dry the skin cracks like a desert bed. That's until I tried this hand cream.
Honey Dream Hand Cream is the best softening hand cream I have used among retail and e-tail brands. It's got a thick, creamy texture that absorbs well leaving no greasy residue behind. It's also non-irritatiing if your skin is cracked. A small amount about the size of an peanut does the trick. I use this every night before bed and during the day if my hands are especially dry.
Honey Dream Hand Cream comes in three scents: Fresh Squeezed (a light orange), Spun Honey (honey, floral and fruit) and unscented which is perfect for everyone. I've already finished one tube of Spun Honey and am rapidly finishing a tube of Fresh Squeezed. The cream is packed in a Malibu style tube for easy dispensing. A larger pump style container is suppose to be available soon.
Honey Dream Hand Cream is a HG for me and I never want to be without it. It's great ingredients work extremely well. Just ask the guys in your life .. :-D
Ingredients: distilled water, cocoa butter, mango butter, apricot kernal oil, grapeseed oil, honey, emulsifying wax, stearic acid, beeswax, vitamin E, propylene glycol, diazolidinyl urea (synthesized from carbon dioxide and ammonia), methylparaben, propylparaben, fragrance

Eyeliner -MAC - Penned fluidline
maggierose4 7/30/2006 1:39:00 PM
My first Fluidline but not my last. Penned is a beautiful deep teal color in the jar. On my skin (NW25) is appears more blue grey in tone. The shade really does wonders for my brown eyes. Even just a simple line of this and nothing else can make your eyes stand out (ala Angela Jolie). The formula is smooth, applies evenly, stays put and is easy to remove at the end of the day.

Treatments -Bath and Body Works - Pure Simplicity Burdock Root Skin Mattifier [DISCONTINUED]
maggierose4 6/22/2006 5:58:00 PM
This was a surprize find at the Annual Sale. With the warm weather I get very oily. I found this mattifier at 75% off so it was worth a try. This stuff is amazing! It really does stop the shine for hours, even without powder over it. I just apply a small amount to my t-zone areas, let it dry and that's it. I've heard this has been d/c'ed which would be such a shame. If you can find it, buy it!

Lipstick -Clinique - Butter shine Lipstick - Adore U
maggierose4 6/12/2006 6:38:00 PM
After looking over all the new Summer shades I selected Adore U, since I wanted a neutral color. Adore U is a beautiful nude shade in the container. It goes on sheer and gives my lips a lovely shimmer and finish. This actually looks best a minute or two after I apply it. Perfect, polished nude/peach tone. As with all Butter Shine's this feels great on the lips too.

Bronzers -Guerlain - Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder-Blondes 01
maggierose4 6/7/2006 5:36:00 PM

During a recent makeover by a Guerlain National makeup artist this product was used instead of regular blush. A light sweep of this gives me a beautiful, natural looking sunkissed glow. The product itself has a gorgeous mosaic pattern and just enough golden shimmer to accent but not make you look like a disco queen. Perfect bronzer for a casual look. I'm FFF, NW 23-25, br/br for reference.

Lip Gloss -Flirt - zippy ginger
maggierose4 4/29/2006 8:20:00 PM
This Flirt Super Shiny lipgloss is just that .. super shiny! Zippy Ginger is a great shade with shine and shimmer. This gloss feels good on, not sticky. Tastes nice too. It comes in a squeeze tube container with a slanted tip applicator. A small amount gives great color to your lips. Perfect for a Summer face when you have a sunny glow to your skin.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - The Savannah Bee Co - 100 percent Natural Tupelo Honey Beeswax Lip Balm
maggierose4 3/26/2006 7:30:00 PM
I'm always searching for good tasting, moisturizing lip balms. If they are natural, so much the better. The Savannah Bee Company Tupelo Honey Lip Balm is one that fits the bill. This balm in stick form smells and tastes like fresh lemon and honey, an unusual and tasty version. The balm goes on smoothly and moisturizs with natural oils and shea butter. There are no silicones or artificial ingredients in it. This has no sunscreen in it but you can always top it with a SPF lipstick if you want color &/or sun protection. Savannah Bee Company lip balms can be purchased directly from their website or at BBW stores and on-line. Retail price is $4 per stick.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Vinyl Lip - Snog
maggierose4 3/22/2006 5:50:00 PM
After reading many good reviews on Rimmel Snog I gave it a try. It turned out to be a beautiful gloss on me. It's a good MLBB color with lots of shine. It has a nice grapefruit taste too, surprizing and different. Snog is a great color for a casual look and can also be used over a lip liner or lipstick for more impact. Can't beat the BOGO offer I got at Walgreens either.

Blush -L'Oreal - Blush Delice - Front-Page Peach
maggierose4 3/3/2006 6:37:00 PM
After all the reviews and posts about this blush I had to give it a try. My CVS store had two left on display, so I grabbed one (not to be greedy). The color looks bright and orangey in the pan. It's one blush I would have surely passed by if I hadn't read any reviews. The powder is very fine and has a subtle shimmer to it when applied to the skin. Colorwise, it looks like a peachy pink on my face (NW23). Very flattering and natural in tone. It lasts too, a big surprize. Love the packaging, size of the products and "film" print to the blush itself. For less than $9 retail this is a great buy. Snap this LE blush up while it's still available.
