Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Detoxifying Facial Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
kisshippie13 2/26/2010 9:12:00 AM

I bought this after I bought the cleanser of the same name...I needed an exfoliant. (HATE THE CLEANSER!!! see my other review) I used this along with the cleanser for about 3 weeks and my face was HORRIBLE!!! breakouts everywhere...so I went back to my purpose face wash for another 3 or 4 weeks and haven't seen any improvements...so I decided I give this scrub another chance on it's own. I have been using this day and night for about a week now and my face is clearing up pretty fast! I did make some other changes in my routine along with this. I was using burts bees herbal blemish stick as a spot treatment but it just wasn't working. So I went back to my acne free repair lotion (3.7% benzoyl peroxide) and still using the clean and clear dual action moisturizer. Ok...on with the product! The smell is nice. It's a light clean smell VERY similar to the neutrogena acne stress control line. The scrubbing beads are NOT sparse, and are gentle! Great for everyday use so you won't tear up your skin. It doesn't contain as many ingridients as the cleanser does (if I'm not using a natural product I like to use a product with as little chemicals as possible) it does contain sodium laureth sulfate which is a known irritant of acne. (so far I haven't had any bad reactions) Dries out my face a little but nothing too bad that moisturizer can't handle. It's making my blackheads on my nose a LITTLE smaller which is a plus. Overall, I'm liking this product as a daily cleanser and a scrub! Overview: pros: smells good, clears skin, makes blackheads smaller cons: can be drying *note* I gave it 4 lippies because I'm not sure if it's the scrub or the BP lotion that is clearing my skin.

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Rosemary Mint Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
kisshippie13 2/19/2010 11:45:00 AM

I love this shampoo! I wasn't too happy about it in te beginning because I thought it was drying my hair out, but it wasn't. I bought the smaller bottle for about 1.50 USD and I believe it's about 13 or 14oz of product. VERY CHEAP! So far I am LOVING this shampoo! I LOVE the smell...it's like an herbal mint smell (Rosemary and mint). It doesn't really tingle as much as I would have liked, but hey...for 1.50 who cares right? It doesn't make my hair dry, frizzy, or brittle after I use it...which is pretty good for me since I have curly hair! I use it everyother day with the Shea butter and almond conditioner and my hair looks FANTASTIC without any extra product in it! So here's my overview: PROS: smells heavenly, affordable, makes hair shiny and soft! CONS: it's made by suave...lol

Conditioner -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
rated 5 of 5
kisshippie13 2/19/2010 11:34:00 AM

I purchased this yesterday. Didn't plan on buying this but I saw it on the shelf and was extremely interested. I liked the biobasics line and the humectant line...so I figured "what the hell." so I bought it. I bought it with the Rosemary mint shampoo (which I will review as well). Ok...I HAVE ONLY USED THIS ONCE....so...things might change. It smells WONDERFUL!!! a mix between coconut and a sugar cookie...but not strong...very pleasant. The consistancy is nice...not too watery...not to thick...feels great in the hair. Rinses easily... But doesn't rinse out too fast...if you have curly hair..like me..you might want to leave in more than you think you would. As far as moisturizing...i'm not sure yet...but my hair is pretty frizzy...don't let this scare you away though...because it could be the shampoo making it frizzy, I could have rinsed too much of the conditioner out, or I could have rinsed it out too soon. So. These are my initial thoughts on the conditioner... -UPDATE- I LOVE THIS CONDITIONER!!!! It makes my curly hair shiny, soft, frizz free, and gorgeous!!! It smells great, awesome consistancy, leaves a shine, has made my hair a little frizzier, lightweight. I will update this review after a few weeks.. -UPDATE- (MARCH 1st 2010) i'm still using this conditioner. I'm on my second bottle, they have changed the formula just a little bit. It's now thicker in consistancy than it used to be. I still love it! And I love the changes they made. Go buy it. You have nothing to lose.

Scrubs -Burt's Bees - Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub
rated 3 of 5
kisshippie13 2/8/2010 10:57:00 PM

First of all...I would like to say that if you are looking for a St.Ives apricot scrub replacement..THIS IS NOTHING LIKE IT!!! I really like burts bees products...and I love that they are natural. They are very easy to get a hold of...and are USUALLY at a reasonable price... I've been using the herbal blemish stick for about 4 months now (had 3 tubes) and I quite like it. Ive been looking at the Peach and Willowbark scrub for a while now but couldn't bring myself to pay 8 bucks for a 4oz tube!!! But I finally did. So far..it's an ok product...many people are complaining about the "waxy" feel...it goes away when you dry off your face and leaves your Face feeling moisturized. The texture didn't really bother me..but if you like that squeeky clean feeling...I wouldn't reccomend this product to you. The exfoliating beads (peach stone) are coarse..but don't irritate my skin...people have also been complaining about there not being enough beads for exfoliating..I beg to differ...if you have acne prone skin..exfoliating can be quite harsh and very irritating and cause you to break out! This product has enough beads in it to exfoliate without irritating your acne! Which is GREAT! Is this helping my acne? Havent noticed a huge difference..but I've only used the product once a week for 2 weeks..so far... It hasn't broken me out though either...which is a big plus :) st. Ives started to break me out..but I wasn't looking for a st. Ives dupe,.. To sum things up: good product...gentle on acne...moisturizing...doesn't clog pores...exfoliates well. Will update if anything changes. :)

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Sleek and Shine Weightless Anti-Frizz Serum
rated 3 of 5
kisshippie13 1/29/2010 4:18:00 PM

I have frizzy, curly hair and needed something to combat the frizz...and make it more soft looking. This product is pretty good. Not the best product, but not the worst either. It says it smooths and adds shine to frizzy, dry, unmanagable hair. It does do what it says, but not to the extent that I wish it did. The consistency is pretty runny, like that of olive oil. I usually put this on wet hair right after I get out of the shower. The amount I use differs...depends on how much I feel like using that day. The product smells just like any other garnier frutis product. Though it doesn't control my frizz completely, it helps some. It does add lots of shine!!! And it is healthy for your hair. This would probably work better on less curly hair...and wavy and straight hair types. Again, it's not a PERFECT solution for frizz, but it helps.

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Style - Smoothing Milk
rated 3 of 5
kisshippie13 1/29/2010 4:07:00 PM

This product isn't that great. I really want to like it because I love garnier frutis products..but this product just wasn't awesome. The packaging is nice...easy to use. The product has a nice consistency and isn't very sticky. It can go on wet or dry hair. And it smells like any garnier frutis product. I have curly hair, so I get a lot of frizzies and fly aways. This product just didn't do it for me! It gets rid of a very little amount of frizz (on wet or dry hair) and doesn't really "smooth" my hair. I haven't tried this yet with my blow dryer...but so far I'm not loving this product! I probably won't buy again, but I'll use what I have left.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
kisshippie13 1/28/2010 9:32:00 PM

Not sure if this is my HG moisturizer....but it comes VERY close. So far, this is the first moisturizer I've ever re-purchased. I really like it! It goes on smooth...not sticky...not oily...moisturizes well...fights and prevents acne. It really does what it says...but you can't use this product ALONE to fight acne..because .it's not strong enough. It doesn't break me out...and my pores are breathable after I put it on. Does make my face slightly shiny...but in a healthy way...no ones face is matte naturally! It also has a nice refreshing feel to it...because if the menthol in it. The smell is alright...not over powering and does not irritate the skin. The 4oz bottle lasts FOREVER! I recently re-purchase another bottle today...my other bottle is running low but not OUT. I've had that bottle for nearly a year...so..a little goes a VERY LONG way. I'm quite happy with this moisturizer...and will re-purchase...but i will continue to look for my HG moisturizer.

Conditioner -Pantene - Beautiful Lengths
rated 3 of 5
kisshippie13 1/28/2010 9:17:00 PM

For my fine, curly hair...this product is OKAY. not great... It's like a basic conditioner..nothing to frett over. It has a very nice THICK consistency, which I LOVE...and it moisturizes alright...And doesn't leave my hair excessively frizzy. It does make my hair shiny though...which is good..and I like the smell. I'm about halfway through with the bottle..when I finish it..I think I'm going back to garnier frutis triple nutrition. Not the best product out there...but not the worst either...give it a try...it might be right for you...just didn't work with my hair type.

I have fine, curly hair. This shampoo is just NOT for me. It has a nice thick consistency...bubbles a lot...washes out easily. Afterwards, my hair feels dry and stick like before I put the conditioner in...not something I desire in a shampoo. I just don't really like this shampoo. It cleans the hair nicely though...

Moisturizers -Cerave - Moisturizing Lotion
rated 1 of 5
kisshippie13 1/22/2010 12:00:00 PM

Thought this would be a good moisturizer for my sort of oily and moderate acne prone skin. Boy was I wrong!!! The CeraVe moisturizing lotion is terrible!!! When you put it on it soaks in fairly quickly, but leaves a sticky feeling and makes my face a little shiny. The bottle says it's non-comeogenic, but no where on the bottle does it say "oil-free". This lotion was just awful...made be break out with white heads EVERYWHERE especially in the chin and jaw area...and the forehead. The lotion also feels like it coats my skin and it can't breathe. I would definately NOT reccomend this product to anyone!!! I'm going back to Clean and Clears Dual Action moisturizer. Th packaging is ok...would have much prefered a pump. Fairly cheap for it's size (10 bucks for a 12 oz bottle) OVERVIEW: Sticky on face, left a "coat" on my face, pores didn't feel breathable, made me break out terribly, didn't control oil very well. -EDIT- I went back to Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer and almost immediately (withing two hours) my breakouts calmed significantly!!! All of the little pimples around my mouth and chin were nearly gone!!! (there were about 15 or 20 of them) so, I'm thinking I may have had an allergic reaction to the CeraVe. Just would like to note that the CeraVe did NOT sting or burn while I was using it.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Herbal Blemish Stick
rated 4 of 5
kisshippie13 1/8/2010 12:34:00 PM

Overview: Pros: works well, doesn't make skin oily or shiny, inexpensive Cons: smells horrible, roller ball Is not effective for travel, small amount of product Ok..on with the full review I bought this along with Purpose cleanser. I was on a "back to basics" kick because I felt I was using too much anti acne stuff and it was causing more acne..so I decided to get a natural spot treatment...and I got this product. I really like it! When i first used it, it kind of stung on some pimples...but hey..what doesn't right? The smell is pretty awful, but you get used to it...it's not so bad that it makes you want to throw up.. The smell is like licorice and lemon...btw the roller ball applicater is kind of cool...and convienant...but for travel it's not so great...I recommend letting the bottle stand up right on a counter for a few minutes before you use it, otherwise the liquids will get trapped in the roller ball causing it A LOT more product to come out than you want. It's works pretty well...it reduces the size of pimples and keeps them from becoming white heads (if you treat them soon enough) it doesn't really reduce redness...like I would have liked... It doesn't dry out my skin...but i do follow with moisturizer because I like to...(I use clean and clear dual action for now) as for oil control, it's a SPOT treatment...not for your whole face...so it doesn't reduce oil... Not very good for the prevention of acne..only on spots you already have... It also works best on cystic acne (big, painful ones) rather than whiteheads... HOWEVER!!!!! It also works WONDERS ON BLACKHEADS!!!! The product runs out pretty quickly (about a month) compared to others I have used. But it's worth it because it's natural and make me feel like I'm doing something better for my skin. Overall...I love this product and will continue to use it.

Shampoo -Garnier - Triple Nutrition
rated 5 of 5
kisshippie13 8/30/2009 3:01:00 PM

i was walking down the shampoo isle at walmart and i notice a DARK green bottle of garnier frutis!! i was like wtf is this...i was excited. so i got it and can't be happier!!! this is my HG shampoo and conditioner. i have really curly hair that's usually frizzy, this shampoo and conditioner makes my hair shiny, soft, and defines my curls beautifully!!! the shampoo doesnt feel like it dries my hair out after i rinse it. usually with other shampoos my hair feels brittle when i rinse it, with this it feels conditioned. the conditioner is wonderful as well. it has the same garnier frutis scent, no suprises there. i've been using it for about 3 weeks now (every day) and i keep getting the SAME wonderful results after every use!!! i love this stuff!!!

Shampoo -Suave - Biobasics Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
kisshippie13 5/3/2009 2:26:00 PM

Well..I'm on my third day of usage..so far I really like it. I have curly hair past shoulders and is medium thickness. We will start with packaging.. Has the basic suave packaging..fits nice in hands.. The only thing I don't like is I could only find the 32oz bottles.. I usually get the 13oz bottle of shampoo and the 32oz for conditioner..because I use more conditioner than shampoo. It's not really a big deal though..I'll just buy more conditioner when I run out..and will still have plenty of shampoo. The product smells really good! It smells like something a hairdresser would use..so that's good..it can be a little strong though..it kind of has a gingery coconut smell to it..it's very nice.. The shampoo and conditioner have a very nice consistency..the conditioner stays in your hand...actually the consistency is much like the garnier frutis products! When you rinse the shampoo out it doesn't leave your hair feeling dried out and stickish..it leaves it soft.. The conditioner is great...you don't need a whole lot of it...it rinses nicely. When my hair has dried..it doesn't feel weighed down or greasy..feels very clean, soft, and very shiny.. It doesn't make my hair frizzier than it already is.. Overall I really like the biobasics line..I really wish they made a frizz serum of the same line.. I would purchase and recommend again

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power - Cream Wash
rated 4 of 5
kisshippie13 8/12/2008 10:11:00 PM

so far ive only been using this for about a week now.. i have seen results though. it has decreased the breakouts on my skin..and is clearing up the acne that wouldnt go away around the edges of my mouth. yay! i like the wash..the first time i used it..when i was rinsing it off...i was like ..wtf?? why didnt it wash the oil off my face. so i used a scrub to get the oil off..........well bad idea..i broke out worse and then decided to just use it again and see how it does AFTER you get out of the shower. so i did...and the oil wasnt from my skin..it was just residue from the cleanser ( i dont like the residue..but you cant feel it after you get out of the shower and dry your face.) it doesnt over dry your face (so far) and its pretty good at controlling oil too. it seemed to make my pores smaller in the beginning ..now they are back to the way they were...... :( but overall its a good product. i would recommend it.......... if your stuck and havent tried it.........and you still have pimples..try it..what have you got to lose..... ps-->i bought it at walmart for 7.00 and i use the hydrating treatment (the one that goes with the line) and clearisil vanishing spot treatment.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Cleansing Bar - Acne-Prone Skin Formula
rated 3 of 5
kisshippie13 7/26/2008 2:18:00 PM

This is a good product. Works better than most for me. Before this I was using biore blemish clearing ice cleanser it worked good for a while..but I was running out so I decided to try something new. I was kind of scared to b/c the biore worked REALLY well at making the redness calm. But it wasn't really working too good for my acne after a while. I decided to buy this just because it was cheap and I had never used an acne bar and my friend loves neutrogena products and her face is really clear. Its really good. I've used it for about a month and it really cleared up my existing acne and has prevented most new ones. I'm using this with st. Ives apricot scrub for acne and oily skin....I never used a scrub really and I wanted to see what it would do for me. I wash with the neutrogena bar in the mornings and I scrub with st ives at night. I don't really have to use any spot treatments or moisturizer, unless I have really stubborn pimples. In that case I use clean and clear acne clearing moisturizer and clearsil acne vanishing cream (10% bp). This isn't a mircle system. But it works for now...and its a nice change from my other routine. I'm going to keep doing this untill both run out. But if my skin doesn't clear up I'm trying something new.
