Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power - Cream Wash
junkfood1991 11/21/2010 7:22:00 PM
I wonder if I'm using the same cleanser as others cus mine is very strong and effective. This cleanser helps get rid of my breakout in matter of 1-2 weeks and is probably the best SA cleanser I have used. I can definiately see a difference in the clarity of my skin in terms of little bumps and blackheads. However, if I use it too much, it makes my skin red and sensitive. I can't believe people say that this is like a gentle cleanser. The acid in this cleanser is strong.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Ego QV Face Moisturising Cream SPF30
junkfood1991 11/11/2010 6:38:00 PM
I have been using this qv spf 30+ lotion for ~ 1 month and I think this sunscreen is a good one for its price and quality. It did break me out a little bit at first probably because of the ZnO in the formula, but it is a really good gentle suncreen for my sensitive skin especially if you are on tretinoin / bha stuff. I used 2 be able 2 tolerate neutrogena spf45 with avobenzone, but since I used some other skincare items, it just became very sensitive. I'm now using this qv sunscreen instead of my staple spf45 and I think it offers alright daily protection without making my skin red and irritated. 4 lippies (minus 1 as it sorta broke me out a little bit). Edit: changing it to 3 lippies as it makes my skin too white when I have it on. IDK Y a 4% ZnO sunscreen can make my skin white. Sadly I won't repurchase.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Retin A
junkfood1991 8/27/2010 10:31:00 PM
This is my HD product. I have used tretinoin for >1 year and it never fails to deliver. At first it seems to make my skin red and sensitive, but after having used it for such a long time, I find it 'very calming' to my skin whenever I use acids on the same day. It just speeds up the healing and normalizes my skin taking away all the redness and flakiness. I will never go without my 0.1% tretinoin cream!!!

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 45 with Helioplex
junkfood1991 8/27/2010 9:30:00 PM
This is my go to suncreen (enough said). No, it's not perfect but it does what it should do as a suncreen and yes it's the only suncreen that DID NOT break me out. I have used tons of other brands of suncreens and they are either comedogenic or just sitting on skin making me look like a geisha for hours and hours. This suncreen does neither of those things, BUT there is one major thing that I have to complain about which is that it irritates my skin and makes it so red if I use it in conjunction with vitamin c serum (morning), glycolic acid at night. Therefore, if ur skin is sensitive / u hv done some kind of peels/ laser, please don't use this suncreen or u will be red like a gorilla's BUM BUM.

Toners -Simple - Soothing Skin Toner
junkfood1991 8/27/2010 9:23:00 PM
I wish there is an option of maybe buying this product again. This toner seems to have everything i want in a toner (alcohol free, got witch hazel and allatonin to calm the skin), but it doesn't seem to work out for me. I have personally used this toner for a year and it does its work very well like it cleans your skin very well, BUT maybe it cleans so well that it strips the natural oil on my skin which we all know will cause little bumps here and there. Plus this toner is NOT moisturising at all and in fact it feels sticky on skin like glycerol.. probably because of the sorbitol content.

Treatments -Cellex-C - High Potency Serum
junkfood1991 8/27/2010 9:18:00 PM
this product contains 10% L-ascorbic acid which is quite good 4 the vitamin c beginners like myself, BUT the serum was already quite yellowish when I received it. I just think that means the product is no longer effective and for the price that u pay, this serum is not worth it. Plus it stung a lot when i applied this (ok i also used glycolic, retinoid which might hv sensitized my skin). I'm sure there r better options out there with a more reasonable price tag. I hv decided to pour this serum down the sink as it's quite yellow.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel
junkfood1991 6/30/2010 9:13:00 PM
I use the aloe gel on my lips and then I apply classic vaseline on them. My lips hv never been so well moisturised. I love the combination of aloe and vaseline. I use them on my face if my face gets irritated from glycolic/salicylic. :) 5 stars 4 the moisturising properties. <3

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Age Shield Face SPF 70
junkfood1991 6/13/2010 9:27:00 PM
Absolute JUNK. I originally bought this ss as a replacement of my neutrogena healthy defense spf 45 and I have to say that I cannot possibly be more disappointed with this. This ss seems to be very liquidy, but it just NEVER blends in with my skin. It leaves MAJOR white cast on my face. It then dries up and the white streaks CANNOT be rubbed in cus doing that will just make it 1000X worse with 1000X more white streaks on my face. I tried to use the rest up on my arms and it even leaves white casts there. This ss is ABSOLUTELY USELESS. I cannot believe that I spent money on this crap. I thought it would be a nice step up from my HG healthy defense spf 45. I feel so stupid right now. I would NEVER ever ever ever ever ever use it on myself even if u paid me money to use it. COMPLETE CRAP isn't even a strong enough word 4 me 2 describe this disgusting ss. I would rather get sun-burnt instead if u forced me 2 use this!!!!!!!!!!!

Treatments -Dr. Denese - Firming Facial Resurfacing Peel
junkfood1991 5/26/2010 4:52:00 AM
Alright I have only used this product once, but it does seem to make my skin clearer. Although I can't say that it makes my skin radiant and perfect, it's definitely a good start. One thing though is that it did sting quite a bit with the 1st application and made my skin like tomato red, but all that irritation went away within 15 minutes and everything was back 2 normal. I plan 2 use this everyday as I hv blackheads and some blemishes that r still present despite the use of glycolic gel, tretinoin and azelaic acid. (yes, my skin is that oily and thick) *cry* I hope with consistent use this mask will be the missing element to my goal of having crystal clear skin. I'll update with my progress on this product. :) 04/06/2010 update: this mask seems to firm the skin but it still doesn't seem to work on my blackheads on my nose despite daily use. still highly recommend this. <3

Treatments -SkinMedica - Vitamin C Complex
junkfood1991 5/20/2010 1:17:00 AM
I initially bought this product as I wanted to add an antioxidant to my current regimen and the price is reasonable for a vitamin c serum. I have used it for around 2 weeks, but unfortunately this serum just doesn't seem to do anything and my skin isn't clearer or brighter. I think this just suits people with mature dry skin more than someone like me who is young and oily. The silicone in this serum always kinda makes ss harder to apply and I always feel like it's gonna ball up. I really wish it could be more watery and readily absorbed rather than just sitting on yop of my skin. I think this is a good start for vitamin c serum, but sadly I won't repurchase as I haven't seen any results that you should get from a good vitamin c serum. I hv just order Cellex-C high potency serum whihc I think is better b/c of lower pH and I'm keeping my finger crossed (cus it's so freaky expensive, OUCH).

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Calmurid Dry Skin Cream
junkfood1991 5/12/2010 1:28:00 AM
I use calmurid as a facial cleanser (day, after work and night) and it works better than cetaphil and aveeno in terms of the moisturising properties. This cream has helped calm down the ezcema and slightly exfoliate the dead skin. I also use calmurid as a facial mask when I take a shower and it hasn't clogged my pores at all (mind you my skin is VERY acne prone). This cream just serves multi-purpose. I even use this at night on my hands. I'm so happy that I discovered this cream. Absolutely HG! Although this is a bit more expensive than nutra-plus and it really smells weird (due to lactic acid?), I still love it. You can't beat the price for what you get.

Treatments -Neostrata - 15% AHA Gel Plus
junkfood1991 4/28/2010 12:53:00 AM
I have just got my hand on this product and just used it today. I think this product can be a bit strong for people with sensitive skin since even with my eternally oily skin this gel stinks my skin a bit and makes it red for 5 minutes. (maybe it's b/c I'm using retin-a, salicylic acid, azelaic acid everyday?) I used to use the neutrogena healthy skin lotion, but that was just too oily for me and I was hoping that this gel is the answer to my prayer for a good AHA product. So far so good. Nothing bad is happening. I will definitely update. UPDATE: This product is so amazing. omg. After having used this for 3 weeks or more, my skin is used to this and this gel just sinks in my skin and exfoliates my skin. This also allows me to stop using harsh harsh harsh salicylic acid neutrogena spot tx. HG. 100% repurchasing. bumping this to 5 lippies =)

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
junkfood1991 3/31/2010 8:38:00 PM
Would i buy cetaphil gentle cleanser again?? Hell YEAH. This is the only cleanser that I always come back to when I used something that irritated my skin. A lot of people complained that it doesn't remove make-up and it doesn't clear up their skin, but the truth is that a cleanser is not supposed to do all that stuff. Its main job is to clean your skin without stripping off all the natural good stuff on your skin. For people who are acne-prone, you need to use actives to bring down the pimples and cetaphil alone can't clear you up. I admit that I am a product whore and it is impossible for me to stick to 1 cleanser. I have tried aveeno cream cleanser, neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser, dermasoft cleanser and none of them are as gentle as cetaphil gentle cleanser. Sorry, cetaphil I was once unfaithful to you and my skin got burned. I swear that I will never try any cleanser except you. I LOVE YOU, cetaphil. (btw, I'm not a psycho bitch).

Cleansers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
junkfood1991 3/21/2010 9:56:00 PM
I like this product so far and I have used it for about a week. I was previously using aqueous cream as cleanser as other cleansers were way too drying for me. However, after having used aqueous cream for a while, I got a couple of clogged pores from it, so I decided to try out the aveeno cream cleanser. One thing that I really like about this cleanser is that it doesn't leave a film on my skin after washing and it doesn't strip off any natural skin oil from my face, keeping it really clam. I have also tried their foaming version which I also liked, but if you are using some strong creams like aha, bha, retin-a, the foaming cleanser just doesn't cut it. This cream cleanser does its job nicely, but don't expect miracles as it is only a cleanser afterall. One thing about the price, it is actually quite expensive (it costed me 19 nz dollars) for amount that you get in the tube. To be honest, I don't believe for a second that feverfew will help me with my redness as the concentration is way too low for it to be effective. Overall, it is a nice non-pore clogging cleanser which I will repurchase until I find a better one. UPDATE: I have stopped using this product cus this is just too expensive for the amount of product you get. 1 tube only lasts me for a month. I'm back to my HG cetaphil gentle cleanser. I won't repurchase this.
