Treatments (Eye) -BeneFit Cosmetics - It's Potent!
freyasfeathers 11/22/2011 10:16:00 PM
For $32 for only a half an ounce I expect more. This is just a basic rich eye cream. I gave it 3 weeks of daily/nightly use to be fair (and try to at least get some of my moneys worth) I can't use it during the day because its too greasy and makeup doesn't want to adhere. Can't use at night because I wake up with very puffy eyes (vaseline does the same thing). A little does go a long way.......to nowhere. If you have super dry flaky eyes then this may be your ticket. For me I'm not that desperate. No effect at all for dark circles but added bags. I love the cute jar but its all looks no substance. Also Parabens is way up the list of ingredients. Not an issue for me per se but is a deal breaker for many. I added the ingredients to the link but in case it didn't work...here it is...(a lot of fluff for something ineffective...less is more Benefit!) Water (Aqua), Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Squalane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Steareth-21, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, Hexyldecanol, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Steareth-2, Glyceryl Hydroxystearate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Methylparaben, Alcohol, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Chlorphenesin, Dimethicone, Propylene Carbonate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Steareth-20, Tromethamine, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Protein, Propylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Tetrasodium Edta, Propylparaben, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Protein, Isobutylparaben, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Sanguisorba Officinalis Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Caprylic/Capric/Succinic Triglyceride, Dipeptide-2, Potassium Sorbate, Eriobotrya Japonica Leaf Extract, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Plankton Extract. Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Anti dark circle roller
freyasfeathers 10/16/2011 8:46:00 PM
I stopped wearing concealer about 2 years ago because I could not for the life of me find one that didn't age me more. I just left my poor little dark eye bags alone to collect dust above my cheeks bones all this time. Then I read the reviews here and said in my head...ok ONE last time to waste money on yet another concealer/revealer. I am please to say that this time it wasnt a waste of money! This stuff actually works when its on! Its very thin and blends well...I just dab a few dots from the rollerball and then tap with my finger to blend. Its a tad bit light at first then drys to the perfect finish..no need to powder after which I'm grateful for cause powder ages me as well. I've been using about a month now. It's only useful for its concealing properties. I put an eye serum on before applying because it does nothing to moisturize..Also once you wash your face all the magic is gone...no long term benefits...but I still really like!!! Yay and thank you all!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express The Falsies Flared
freyasfeathers 10/16/2011 8:28:00 PM
This mascara is horrid. I've always hear about spider leg lashes but I've never actually seen anyone in real life have those type of lashes except for Tammie Faye Baker....but I'm talking about real life here. Well I did on wednesday morning at around 5:30 am. I saw this lady with the most fugded up lashes ever!...and she was staring right at me...in the mirror.

Blush -La Femme - Glow-On Rouge-Golden Dew Amber
freyasfeathers 10/16/2011 8:19:00 PM
This is the strangest product I've bought in a long time. The package looks like the cheap makeup they use to have at Woolworths back in the 70"s-you know the kind your mom use to let you buy to play with because it was only $1?-Yet I love the whole retro thing! The smell is soooo old school I swear someone stuff noxema up my nose...yet I love it! The color...oh boy..looks like dried clay in the pan..I literally opened it and said eww. Then I tried it and fell in love! It has the most natural flush I've ever seen in a blush. No shimmer, doesn"t settle into fine lines and lasts all day.Looks like I took a brisk walk-completly natural. Dirt cheap too!

Tinted Moisturizer -Aveeno - positively radiant
freyasfeathers 10/16/2011 8:05:00 PM
The Good: Protects from the sun well and smells pleasant-though a little strong. I like the pump dispenser The UGLY: Medium tint is really a light tint. Has this weird kind of shimmer to it that makes my skin look dull and dusty and alien like. Hard to describe but it looks like crap on. I tried perking it up with a fun bright blusher but to no avail it still looked despressed.

Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
freyasfeathers 3/17/2010 5:01:00 PM
I've used this jojoba oil daily for over a year now and just started my 2nd bottle, so yes I will and have repurchased. I get mine at Trader Joes for about $8-well worth the price. FOR THE BODY: I use everyday by adding just a couple drops to my hand with my regular lotion, then rub the two together and apply. It gives the regular lotion a little more "umph" and seems to make the moisturization last a little longer. The jojoba oil is unscented so it never changes the scent of the lotion I am using. In the summer time, I sometimes just use the jojoba oil instead because it sinks it rather matte and doesn't leave me greasy. FOR THE EYES: Its a nice eye makeup remover and gets off even waterprof mascara (as does any oil I'm sure) This oil doesn't give me the hazy eye effect tho and I like the fact I can see after. I also use just a very thin layer under my eyes before bed and I dont wake up with puffy eyes like many commercial under eye creams give me. It just the right amount of moisture to do no harm. FOR THE HAIR; I didn't like it, left my hair dull, but could be my application method is wrong. I'm still playing around with this concept. FOR THE FACE: Oh boy! Totally wrong for me! I used for two weeks at night- just a thin layer, and my shin was amazing! Nice flushed color and smooth! I was very happy!...then week 3 came along and pop! pop! pop! 7 gigantic pimples all over my cheeks, jaw and forehead. Big red fiery eraser size pimples! OMG! I'm 41 and have NEVER had pimples like that even as a teenager. I never thought it was possible, I have skin that can tolerate everything even petroleum jelly! Dang I can put foot lotion on my face and still not break out -not that I have done that mind you. My husband came home and was shocked! He had never saw a blemish on my face before(not that I'm bragging I have melasma another form of torture). He thought I was having an allergic reaction. I immediately stopped using the jojoba oil (it was the only thing new to my regime) and within 3 days all was right with the world again. The moral to my story? Just because its gentle, organic and pure, doesn't mean it's wimpy. This oil beat the tar out of my tough skin. OVERALL: I really like and respect this little bottle of amber juice, I know its limits now and I back away with my face..(but on my eyes its ok-weird)

Lotions/ Creams -Suave - Skin Therapy Advanced Therapy Moisturizer with Multi-vitamins and Glycerin
freyasfeathers 12/8/2009 10:01:00 PM
I've been through probably 5-6 bottles of this over the last few years. I only use it on my hands though. I use the Suave or Vaseline unscented for my body so it doesnt clash with any perfume I may be wearing. This product is great for my hands because it sinks right in and doesnt make them slippery after. I dont have the luxury of time to wait for a hand lotion to absorb. I need them washed, lotioned and away I go! I love this for the smoothness it makes my hands feel. I have to shake hands quite often in my business and I get alot of compliments on the softness of my hands..I quite frequently get " Nice to meet you (shake shake)-pause- Oh my God you have the softest hands!! (as they then cup my hands in both their hands)" Men and Women! Great for business by the way....hence why I wash and lotion all the time...touching peoples hands is a germ waiting to happen! This suave lotion is the only one that does it with no tackyness after. This is also the ONLY lotion my husband will use on his construction working, snag all my sweaters when he touches me 'cause his skin is like hard grit sandpaper hands. He will only use this because there is no "lotion" feel after. The only thing about it is I'm getting burned out on is the scent. It smells fine, but I'm just getting tired of it. Thats the only reason for the 1 lippie off. Wish they would just make it in unscented.

Concealers -Revlon - Beyond Natural Concealer and Highlighters [DISCONTINUED]
freyasfeathers 12/8/2009 9:15:00 PM
For reference I'm a NC25. I bought this in Light-Medium. The color match is ok...its a little lighter than my skin tone which is fine, but I really like that is have a more peach undertone. It does a better job of hiding the discoloration. I only use it in the outer corners of my eyes where I have some darker areas. It worthless for under the eyes..doesnt really cover and settles into the lines. Its nice and creamy and yet it doesnt blend well if that makes sense. I cant seem to find any concealer that actually make my undereyes look better- it always winds up looking worse than going natural..so I gave up on the hunt alltogether...the highlighter side is worthless unless you want to add some pearl to your lipgloss.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
freyasfeathers 12/8/2009 9:03:00 PM
I have this in Light Medium/Medium. I'm an NC25 for reference. This color is weird. It's the right depth, but the tone is kinda of ashey. I have warmth to my natural skintone, and I understand the concept of having cool tone foundation to neutralize the warmth, but my Gawd...I look like I'm casket modeling in this. Very thick, impossible to blend. Coverage is so excellent that I dont even look alive! Makes every wrinkle/crinkle stand up and salute!

Tinted Moisturizer -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer spf15
freyasfeathers 12/8/2009 8:45:00 PM
I bought this in light (looks darker in the tube). I'm an NC25 for reference and this was just too light. It darkens a little after putting on powder. But that's not really the problem actually. It just looks really fake. Its very thick, almost like a foundation as others have said and thats ok too...the problem is it just sits there....on top of your skin... like its waiting for something...all day long. It's also sooo NOT moisturizing. I have to use a heavy duty moisturizer underneath...but yet it still just sits there anyway. Like a stalker. It's creepy looking.

Tinted Moisturizer -Jane - nearly foundation SPF 30
freyasfeathers 12/8/2009 8:26:00 PM
I bought this in Fair, I'm an NC25 for reference. This works totally different in the summer than it does in the winter. SUMMER: Too moisturizing. Made me a grease slick in 2 hours. I wore over regular sunscreen that has more stabilized SPF protection, and smashbox primer. The color of this was too orange and a shade too dark. Maybe the other sunscreen or primer caused it to turn color and darker? Looked great the first hour then it went south after that. WINTER: Great moisture! Wear over regular sunscreen but no primer. Primer in the winter dries me out. Also the color is now a shade too light, but close enough with powder, even tho I have no tan. Strange. Anyway...Great in the winter sucks in the summer. Almost done with the tube but will not be repurchasing. Oh the package is ugly but useful and doesn't really have a scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Canus Goat's Milk Moisturizing Lotion
freyasfeathers 12/8/2009 6:51:00 PM
My mom gave me this in the original lotion and the body butter. I liked the lotion better. Goes on smooth, had nice moisture and doesnt feel greasy. My hand stayed very smooth and soft for hours after. The body butter is difficult to work with because its too thick you can actually cut it with a knife. Both have the same strong clean scent..hard to describe, kinda deodorant soap kind of smell. Its not bad though a little addicting actually. The body butter made me itch for a second. This travel pack she gave also came with a lip balm which went straight into the trash-no good

Gels/Soaps -Johnson & Johnson - Johnson's Softwash 2-in-1 Shower and Shave
freyasfeathers 12/8/2009 6:31:00 PM
This is the softwash in the blue bottle and cap. Wow! This stuff is thick! I almost had a hernia trying to squeeze the product out. Then its this big gooey globey mucus like snot wad on my bath puff. It doesn't spread and the glob falls off and gets stuck in my shower drain-eww. You actually have to rub it together in your hands to disperse it enough to shave with, in the meantime your trying not to upchuck in the shower thinking your shaving with snot. Good luck with that. The good news is it does make a fine shaving snot...but hair conditioner will do the trick too. The scent is generic and doesnt stay. My skin didnt feel bad coming out of my adventure shower. Overall absolutely horrid...but the color of the bottle matched my trash can ok.

Lip Treatments -Revlon - Beyond Natural Liptint SPF 15 ] [DISCONTINUED]
freyasfeathers 5/17/2009 8:51:00 PM
These are great! I have Neutral Pink, Rosy and Deep Berry. Neutral Pink is the same color as my lips, just makes them more even. Rosy gives a flushed tint (very natural) and Deep Berry gives them a nice "pop". All of them are classic looking and none of them are obvious looking. They are very smooth and moisturizing. Not really a gloss at all. After about an hour what you have left is a nice "stain" on your lips, like they are flushed-very pretty and natural. Unfortunately, I like they are discontinuing these, because I'm starting to see them on the clearance tables. So I plan on stocking up.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Beyond Natural Cream Lipgloss, all colors [DISCONTINUED]
freyasfeathers 5/17/2009 8:39:00 PM
I like this. It's a bit gooey, but has decent staying power. I have this in Plumberry and Rosy. Plumberry looks like a dark mud plum in the tube, but goes on much lighter when on. It actually is just a few sheer shades darker than my lips. It doesnt make them "pop" per se, but gives a very natural color that is believable. The Rosy color I thought I would like more, but the color matches my own lips perfectly, so it winds up looking like I just have a clear gloss on, only with a little more eveness. Both of these are great for a no-makeup look but with a little more warmth for the face. No glitter, no shimmer, no "I'm a 40 year old tryng to pass for a teenager wearing gloss". It just more professional and classic. Just wish the texture was a little different or at least the packging. It's a little difficult to spread with the slant tube.
