Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy

I also used this product for the 1st time today. Usually I don't like to review something until I've used it a while but I had amazing results this morning. I have fine, slightly wavy and VERY frizz prone hair. Ugh. I blow my hair straight and then use a flat iron. I live in Georgia where its humid and although my hair is straight when I leave the house by the time I walk into work its frizzy. Well, today this didn't happen. My hair feels soft and sleek and although it did puff just a little it tooks fuller - not frizzy. Definitely use a tiny bit and keep it away from your roots. When I was finished I applied another tiny spec to my palms and ran it through my hair and my hair looks great. I will probably start using a clarifying shampoo once a week to ward off dulling build-up but if this products continues to work this well then I've found my HG.

Lip Gloss -Sugar Cosmetics - Pump Em Up
cvasbinder 8/9/2005 11:59:00 AM
I just bought this lip plumper from Sephora and it is the only plumper I ever tried that noticably works. It really stings (more than DuWop) but I like the feeling. Love the smell. I've had trouble getting the roll on to work sometimes - you have to really keep it upside down to get the product out. And like a previous review said, DON'T get it outside your lip line or you'll have a pinkish line all around your lips. All in all I really like this product.

Blush -Shu Uemura - Water Blusher in Pink
cvasbinder 7/25/2005 11:56:00 AM
This is probably one of the nicest blushes I've ever worn. It feels so cool and refreshing going on. I was leery of the color at first - looked like a pale chalky pink but the color is wonderful on. Its a pale pink with subtle shimmer, very blendable and very natural looking. Now the downside. The packaging is horrible. Like a reviewer below I ended up gouging the blush trying to get the cap off. Its a roll-up type blush in a tube but the cap is so small that I'm practially guaranteed to dig my fingernails in it every time I open it. I was shocked by the size. I paid $28.00 for this and it was the size of a generous sample. If by some miracle it ends up lasting a long time I will re-purchase because I love the blush but if it runs out as fast as I think its going to then its not worth the price.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Automatic Liquid Eyeliner
cvasbinder 7/21/2005 4:06:00 PM
I love this eyeliner. The little brush is stiff enough that its easy to draw a very straight line. I don't like to wear it alone though. I top it with Chanel Charcoal shadow applied to the base of my lashes to be sure there's no space between my liner and my lashes. Used this way the liner lasts all day long and looks great. The liner comes in a pen-like tube and you twist one end to add product to the brush. One click per eye and you're done. I want to get one in brown too.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Straight Works
cvasbinder 6/28/2005 3:01:00 PM
This is the best straightening gel I've ever used and I've tried them all. Its a clear gel of medium consistancy. It smooths on easily. My fine hair is extremely frizz prone and I (try) to dry it straight every morning. I get great results with this gel, my hair feels soft and sleek. If its extra humid outside I'll also rub a small amount onto my hands and run it through my hair to discourage "late onset frizz". Now that I've started using Kerestase Chromo Reflect shine enhancer I use it in tandem with the Paul Mitchell Straight Works gel. Together, they're my HG of styling products!

Lotions/ Creams -I Coloniali - Mirra Mirra Aromatic Body Lotion
cvasbinder 6/20/2005 3:18:00 PM
This is one of the best smelling and best skin smoothing lotions I've ever used. I absolutely love the scent. The lotion comes in a good sized silver tube and has a nice, easy to spread consistancy. It makes my skins feel ultra smooth (like when I rub my fingers together it feels like I have no fingerprints). The lotion is very moisturizing without feeling oily - it seems to sink right in. Its pricey but I'm okay with that because I love how soft my skin has become and I just can't get enough of the scent. Laying on the perfume just makes it that much better.

Fragrances -I Coloniali - Mirra and Mirra
cvasbinder 6/20/2005 3:09:00 PM
I am crazy about this scent. I received a sample of the body lotion and had to buy the perfume too. To me it smells slightly spicey and very warm - maybe a tiny bit of vanilla. I do wish it would last a little longer but layered with the body lotion makes it last a bit more.

Skincare - Body -I Coloniali - Thailandese Shower Cream with Hibiscus
cvasbinder 6/14/2005 2:35:00 PM
I bought this shower cream based on the reviews here and also because I love the I Coloniali fragrances. This product is wonderful. I won't try to define the scent - I think others did that here very well. But it is truely delicious. I will certainly buy this again. I would love it if they came out with a matching scented body lotion or even a perfume. Its that good.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
cvasbinder 5/25/2005 3:54:00 PM
Well I am one week into using the Pro Activ skincare system and it has actually worked. I'm 50 and I've tried every product I could get my hands on to try to clear up my skin. Acid peels, high and low end brands, antibiotics, you name it. I had very low expectations for this product BUT for the first time in 4 years I actually have not one break-out, healing or otherwise, on my skin. I really still can't believe it. I started out using this twice a day but had to limit it to once a day due to dryness. I use it at night followed by Suki Naturals willow bark skin serum and I use Suki Naturals skin care in the morning. My skin is more even toned, smooth, and the redness is barely noticible. I'll update this review in a few weeks because I don't expect it to last! I don't much like the perfumy fragrace of the products but that's a small price to pay for clear skin. Update: I'm a month into using this system now. I use it every evening and I've not had one single breakout while I've been using it. I never thought anything topical could ever help me. I'm totally happy with ProActiv System. Update: 3 months into using this product now and my skin is still completely clear. For me, a miracle product.

Conditioner -Terax - Crema
cvasbinder 5/9/2005 3:17:00 PM
I agree with the previous reviewers who did not find this product to be anything special. I too have fine and frizzy hair (I agree, its the WORST!) and had high hopes for this conditioner after reading all the hype. Oh well, another product to pass down to my daughters so I don't have to waste it.

Hair -Donna Karan - Cashmere Mist shampoo & conditioner
cvasbinder 5/5/2005 4:06:00 PM
If you want your hair to smell as good as Cashmere Mist perfume then this is for you. The conditioner makes my hair sleek and shiney looking and feels incredible. The only thing I don't like is that it becomes very difficult to get the conditioning product out of the tube after you are about half way through the tube. The shampoo is nothing spectacular but has that great scent.

I love this perfume. It is very strong so I use it in small doses which is still enough to last all day. Its flowery and earthy at the same time. One of my favorites perfumes of all time. Well, so far..

Tinted Moisturizer -Joey New York - Pure Pores Tinted Moisturizer
cvasbinder 5/5/2005 3:34:00 PM
This is my first foray into tinted moisturizers and I like this product. It only comes in 3 shades, light, medium, and dark. I chose light which is still just a little dark for me. On the days of the month when my skin is clear this products offers sheer, even, natural, and pretty coverage. It comes in a tube with a flip-top which I don't much like as the product accumulates around the cap and dries up. If I could get my skin to cooperate and stay clear I would probably buy this product again. As it is, I can only use it for a week every month so its going to last a long, long time.

Styling Products -Kerastase - Nutri-Liss creme
cvasbinder 4/12/2005 3:48:00 PM
I used to love this product - it was the best smoothing balm I've ever used. I ordered this online for some time and then I was told the name changed to Nutri-Sculpt. I was told the product was the exact same thing but it is not! Nutri-Sculpt makes my hair feel like straw. UPDATE: I started using this again and for some reason I don't have the same issues with this product. I've been getting good results lately with my hair. I pushed it up to only 3 lippies because I'm still on the fence about this product.
