Simply put: the best save-your-hair product that can be purchased OTC. My hair is colored with a level 9 blonde & I blowdry and iron daily, so I've got a fair amount of damage. Throw some summer sun & pool chlorine in, and the breakage happens. This stuff STOPPED the breakage, and made my hair feel soft and healthy again. I use it twice a month (since I color approx 1x per month, I always use this 2 days before color). Saturate your hair, cap it, I like to heat for 10 minutes or so but you don't need to, rinse and then coat your hair with a super-rich conditioner for 10 minutes or so. You can see and feel a big difference. For $12.99 @ CVS, this is a GREAT buy, since 1 salon protein treatment of comparable quality will run you $30-$40 and a small bottle of this lasts me about 4 treatments. I'll repurchase as long as they keep making it.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Couleur Experte -hair dye / highlight

I rarely post reviews, but I MUST add my experience to the others who say NEVER, NEVER let this garbage anywhere near your head. I used 9 light ash blonde; no novice am I so I COMPLETELY disregarded the ample warnings on this site (shame on me). I left the base color on exactly as precribed and when I rinsed, my base color is a horrible, red-gold nightmare (formerly very ashy blonde with about 2 inches of regrowth). My ends, which I left out until the last 5 minutes, are a completely AWFUL bluish-gray...I've never seen this color on hair before. I've been coloring at home for years and have certainly made some bad decisions from time to time, but I've never felt so EMBARRASSED to leave the house, which is why I'm inside on a beautiful summer day to let you know to PUT DOWN THE BOX, AND WALK AWAY!!!!!!!! And of course, the 800 # only operates m-f (today's Sunday). I'm off to Sally's (wearing a hat, of course) to buy some Excellence Cremelights to highlight/bleach out the purple streaks. If I could give this a zero, I would. EDIT: i called the toll-free on Monday and after detailing my experience and ASKING FOR MY DAMN MONEY BACK, the woman apologized and said, "wow...It's not supposed to do that"!! No kidding.

Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Mega Shine Top Coat

THIS STUFF IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I've tried fast-dry topcoats by every brand you can think of: this is the BEST, and it's a steal at 5 bucks. My manicures last perfectly about 1 week & can stretch to 2 weeks if I reapply after 1-2 days of first coat. I have pretty active hands (typing, dishes, household chores,playing with kids, etc) & this stuff is HG all the way.

Loose Powders -Sonia Kashuk - Barely There Loose Powder in Naked

I've LOVED this powder for years..sets makeup well, not cakey, color match, etc.... BUT, at $8.99 for .14 ounces it now costs over $60/ounce!!!! They shrunk the packaging & jacked up the price at the same time. This is more than lancome, estee, clinique, prescriptives, etc... I love the stuff, but come on...not a great value & I'd rather get a better product elsewhere (and for less $$!)
