Booo. I wanted so much to like this fragrance, but unfortunately it's waaaaay too strong. I don't recommend this for young people, I associate the smell with older women...at least when I wear it i think I smell like a grandma. When the sales associate sprayed this for my mom and I, it was light and powdery..delicious. However, when actually sprayed on the skin, it's so strong it's almost nauseating. The bottle is beautiful and I love the color of the perfume, just not what's inside. Oh well...will not repurchase. Anyone want a almost full bottle!?
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion
brandyalexander 4/28/2009 11:38:00 AM
YUMMMMMM! I LOVE this lotion! I try and stock up around x-mas so I'll have enough to last all year. This smells SO delicious and sweet, like cookies, but is not overwhelming at all. I get so many compliments on this scent, even even I only use it on my hands. The scent lasts a long time, and the consistency of the lotion is silky smooth. I will definitely repurchase, too bad I have to wait so long!
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Fresh Pineapple Body Cream
brandyalexander 4/28/2009 11:34:00 AM
I got this as a gift from a co-worker. I usually don'tpick out fruity scents for myself, but since it was a gift, I figured I'd give it a try. It is delicious and summery smelling, but something about the smell reminds me of Flintstones vitamins. Weird, I know. The packaging is simple and fun, and the consistency of the cream is always thick and moisturizing. Good stuff, but I will probably not repurchase this particular scent.
Eye Shadow -Too Faced - Eyeshadow duo-Steel Magnolias
brandyalexander 4/27/2009 3:37:00 PM
Super fun and super cute. These colors are great fr summer. They go on smooth, last all day, andwork well together or alone. I've had this for awhile now and rarely used it, I guess I didn't realize how fun it is. This will last me forever, eyeshadow always does. I will definitely repurchase, but in a different duo.
Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
brandyalexander 4/24/2009 11:07:00 AM
This is a perfect amount of moisturization for my combination skin, especially now that it's getting warmer! I tend to shy away from products which contain mineral oil, such as the Dramitically Different Moisturizing Lotion because it clogs my pores, but this gel is fabulous. It sinks in completely and leaves my skin soft and ready for makeup. I don't mind that this doesn't contain an SPF because I use Clinique's Tinted Moisturizer daily which has SPF 15. Super stuff, comes in a small tube for $12 and change so you don't have to invest a lot of money right off the bat.
Accessories -Bath and Body Works - Wallflowers Wall Plug Home Fragrance
brandyalexander 4/24/2009 10:21:00 AM
I just bought two of these when they were on sale for $6 at BBW. I put "fresh bamboo" in the living room and "creamy nutmeg" in the bedroom. The bamboo fragrance was really strong at first, but its been only 2 days and now I can barely smell it. It was good while it lasted I guess. The creamy nutmeg, however, is fantastic. I get a nice whiff every time I walk into the bedroom. I will repurchase, but most likely different scents. Also, these make great gifts. More often than not, I have no idea what to get for aunts/co-workers/friends, etc. These are cheap and who doesn't like a yummy smelling room!?
Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Luscious Curls
brandyalexander 4/24/2009 10:15:00 AM
I've been wanting to try this product for a long time now, and I finally bought a tube...for $20! I think that is fairly expensive for the amount you get, but whatever, I already bought it. I'll start by saying that this by no means works miracles. My hair is very thick and wavy with out of control poof/frizz if i don't maintain it. As far as curling ability, this product works much better than others I've tried. It actually makes my hair look like I curled it with a curling iron. The smell is fantastic...to me anyways. The only downside of this product is the price. Since my hair is only shoulder length now, I don't need a ton of product. If my hair were longer, I'd need more cream and it would not be worth it. At this point, I'm saying I will repurchase...when I have an extra $20 hanging around.
In general, I love H&M clothing. I do, however, find it to be a bit cheap from time to time. The coat I bought there this winter lost a button within 2 weeks, and I've had shirts get holes in random places after only a couple wears. Kudos to them, though, for always attaching an extra button inside the shirts/coats. The prices are usually very reasonable-cheap, so when I shop there, I tend to buy a lot at once. However, you get what you pay for and that could explain lost buttons and surprise holes in my clothes. I will continue to shop there though. Overall, all of my experiences have been pleasant, it's affordable, and the clothes are constantly changing. I can keep up with the layest styles for less.
Fragrances -The Body Shop - Amorito Eau de Toilette [DISCONTINUED]
brandyalexander 4/21/2009 11:31:00 AM
This is my fave scent from the IYS collection frol TBS, and since it has been discontinued, I'd better make it last! It smells delicious, like chocolate, vanilla, and a hint of something floral. I love it, but I can't wear it everyday. I have to be in a "sweet" mood. It doesn't last partucularly long either, but it's great at first. I would buy again...if it weren't discontinued :(
This is my FAVORITE YC scent ever, why was it discontinued!? Better than Clean Cotton, warmer and with a floral hint. I LOVE it. I'm on my last large jar candle, which I am barely burning so I don't lose this scent forever! If you find this scent anywhere, buy it all up because it's fantastically clean and delicious smelling.
Disappointingly generic. This smells like every other cheap floral perfume out there. The floral scents fade quickly, and then the smell is just boring. I do agree that this has a very chemically/alcohol smell. The bottle is adorable, that's what made me try this out at Sephora the last time I was there. Definitely try before you buy to avoid disappointment. I have not and will not purchase.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
brandyalexander 4/20/2009 9:00:00 AM
This works like a charm! My eyelids are beyond oily, so eye shadows and I don't really get along...until now! This primer potion keeps my eye shadow looking fresh and vibrant ALL day long. I apply the primer and then wait a minute, just to make sure it's completely dry, and then apply the shadow. The shadow goes on smooth and 8 hours later, it still looks great! The only downside iof this product is the packaging. I would prefer it to be in a squeezy tube as opposed to a hard tube with a wand. It's a cute bottle, but there's always wasted product in places the wand can't get to. Aside from that, this is wonderful and worth the $17 i paid for it. I will repurchase.
My mom bought this, but didn't like the smell..so I inherited it! I actually like it. My skin is very fair, and I do not tan well AT ALL! This gives me a nice, natural looking color all over. I do caution to be careful when applying arounf the ankle/foot area. I used this last night for the first time this season, and already I can see the tops of my feet are darker. If the smell bothers you, the best thing I can suggest is applying this at night and showering in the morning. That way the product has time to work overnight, and you won't have to worry about washing anything away but the smell!
Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Moisture Cream
brandyalexander 4/14/2009 4:39:00 PM
This is a pretty good moisturizer for my combination skin. I usually prefer gel moisturizers, but in the winter they just don't cut it, so I use the Vitamin E. I love the smell! It's a creamy moisturizer, but sinks in all the way and doesn't leave me shiny. Makes my thirsty skin smooth, and doesn't clog my pores. Now that the warm weather is coming, I'll switch back to a gel, but I'll for sure repurchase when the cold weather comes around again.
Mascara -The Body Shop - Divide and Multiply Mascara
brandyalexander 4/14/2009 4:34:00 PM
I got this product in a GWP around the hilidays. I love mascaras with this kind of brush, but this formula of mascara leaves a lot to be desired. I didn't notice that my lashes looked fuller at all. What I did notice was that this mascara stayed tacky ALL day long. Also, rather than chipping, it melts down under my eyes and makes big dark circles. I'm glad I didn't actually spend money on this product. Try Sephora's Atomic Volume mascara instead. Same price, MUCH better.
