Lotions/ Creams -Cerave - Moisturizing Cream
MakeMeUp14326 3/15/2011 7:22:00 PM
Oh dear. I think I might be allergic to this. I bought it yesterday, and immediately after I put it on the first time, two little pink bumps appeared on my cheek. Hoping that the bumps were just a coincidence, I used the cream last night before bed. When I woke up, some of my skin looked better and some of my skin looked worse. I applied the cream again this morning just for kicks, and my face started stinging afterwards and it is still stinging. But it's soft, too. Ha. It's a good cream. It has a nice texture, and it works well under makeup. It isn't too greasy, but it definitely provides moisture. If you don't have sensitive skin, lucky you, you can buy any moisturizer you want, but you should give this a try just for fun. If you have sensitive skin, get it, but keep the receipt, because just because it markets to sensitive skin doesn't make it fool-proof. As for me, I don't know what I'll do. I'll probably give it a second chance tonight, meanwhile fishing around in my car for my receipt so that if it doesn't prove itself to me by tomorrow, I can return it to Walmart in the morning. *sigh* Edit: Yeah, my skin was not a fan of this. I returned it and I'm just using Cetaphil moisturizing cream now. Much better.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences- Hydralicious Reconditioning shampoo
MakeMeUp14326 11/9/2010 7:43:00 AM
This shampoo is currently my favorite shampoo. I have dry-ish hair that tends to get oily if I use a moisturizing shampoo too often, but super dry and frizzy otherwise. This shampoo makes my hair feel clean as well as soft. I like it a lot. There are only a few downsides for me: 1) the shampoo is so thick, i accidentally use too much, and so I go through the bottle very quickly, 2) it also can leave residue in the bathtub because it is so thick, 3) some of my hair falls out when i use it (but that's totally ok, because my hair is crazy thick) and 4) OK. I HATE THE SMELL. It just smells fake to me. Like some odd kind of Jello. The smell is terribly strong in the shower...thank God it fades away after awhile. Altogether, though, this is a really good shampoo and I will repurchase.

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Almond & Shea Butter
MakeMeUp14326 8/18/2010 4:45:00 PM
this is good for normal hair. beware if you have dry hair; though it advertises itself as a moisturizing shampoo, i don't feel that it really moisturizes that much. it cleans well, though it leaves my hair a little bit on the dry side. don't that let that scare you, though. as long as you use conditioner, you'll be fine. as for the smell...i'm not a fan, but whatever floats your boat. it's not too bad. and come on, this shampoo is super cheap. so it's definitely worth a chance.

Cleansers -Garden of Wisdom - Jen's Green Tea/Shea Cleanser
MakeMeUp14326 8/15/2010 10:39:00 PM
boo hiss. i wasted my money. i figured, "since this cleanser is rather pricey and all-natural, it's gotta be like, the coolest thing ever, right?" no indeed. this did NOT rock my world. the consistency is oddly sticky, and the smell isn't pleasant. not to mention the shelf life is really short since the ingredients are all-natural. it did literally nothing for me: it didn't hurt my skin, but it didn't help it either. if your skin is ridiculously sensitive, i guess it's worth a try, but i won't be using it again.

Powder -New York Color - Smooth Skin Pressed Powder
MakeMeUp14326 7/24/2010 2:39:00 AM
powder isn't really my thing. but, every once in a while, there is an occasion where i feel the need to whip out some powder. and this is the powder i will use. it works well and it is super cheap (not to mention, it's one of the only powders that actually matches my skin tone...). the sponge it comes with is a piece of crap, but we can't have everything, can we? so yes...i will continue to use this every time i am in the mood to wear powder.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal Waterproof
MakeMeUp14326 7/19/2010 5:37:00 PM
my sister bought this when she needed waterproof mascara, so i decided to follow in her footsteps and buy it, too. well. i used it a grand total of twice. it did not cover my eyelashes evenly, yet at the same time, it made my eyelashes look obnoxiously dramatic. i felt like i was wearing stage makeup. only...not good stage makeup. i have moved on to bigger and better mascaras, and i will never look back.

Shampoo -TRESemme - Vitamin C Deep Cleansing Shampoo
MakeMeUp14326 7/12/2010 12:51:00 PM
This is good if you have oily hair or if you need to use a clarifying shampoo once in a while. It cleans well and I love the smell....it's also super cheap. If I use it too much, though, I get dandruff. So be warned that this is not for people who have dry scalp.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Fusion
MakeMeUp14326 7/12/2010 12:40:00 PM
i read the reviews on here, and it sounded like a dream come true. so of course, i went out and bought it as soon as i could. well, i have one word to describe lash blast fusion: meh. i returned it, because i own gazillions of mascaras that are just as good. i would say that if you're content with your mascara and you're just curious about lash blast fusion, just don't bother. it's really not that amazing.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush

Aw man. This is my baby. I use it to apply my foundation and whatever suits my fancy, and it works wonders. It's cheap, but don't let the price fool you. It's a fantastic brush. It's so soft I often brush it across my face simply because it feels good . I went on a trip and I lost this brush on the way...I was distraught. I promptly bought another one online and I was giddy when I received it in the mail. Get this brush. It will make all of your wildest dreams come true.

Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Naturale Mineral Concealer
MakeMeUp14326 7/7/2010 5:48:00 PM
I always thought that mineral makeup wouldn't work for me since I have dry skin. But I tried this concealer anyway. Fellas, I should have listened to my heart, because this just did not work for me. It looked powdery and cakey. Not to mention the powder flew everywhere whenever I opened the lid. Boo.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
MakeMeUp14326 7/7/2010 11:20:00 AM
This is mediocrity at its most mediocre. It looks...good-ish when I put it on. i like the coverage, IT'S MY SKIN TONE (which is super hard to find because i'm paler than most people's definition of pale) and it's easy to apply evenly with my handy dandy e.l.f. makeup brush. However, a few hours after I apply it, I find that the it's no longer hiding my imperfections, and to make matters worse, it has settled into my pores. It just looks bad. Now, I'm not sure if I don't know the right way to use it or if it's just a bad formula, so I may repurchase it and give it another go. One more thing: the bottle is CRAP. If you're planning on traveling with this foundation, don't. The cap doesn't screw on tightly, and with the smallest nudge, the cap unscrews and the foundation goes everywhere. It's a nasty mess. So, if you're daring, try it. But keep the receipt, you might need to return this bottle of meh.

Shampoo -Suave - Tropical Coconut Shampoo
MakeMeUp14326 5/18/2010 10:48:00 PM
Well, for a ridiculously cheap shampoo, this is good. It smells good, it cleans well, etc. It's good. Except for one thing: it makes me shed like nobody's business. If I ever run my fingers through my hair after a shower, a whole clump of hair is pulled out of my head. My thoughts are that this shampoo cannot be healthy for my hair if I lose chunks of hair every time I use it. So I don't think I'll repurchase. I may or may not use up the bottle I have, depending on how much hair I have left. EDIT: After using it for quite a bit, I realized how straw-like it left my hair and how chemical-ish it left my scalp. Gross. It's a cheap shampoo and you definitely get what you pay for.

Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup
MakeMeUp14326 5/12/2010 5:51:00 PM
This is a good foundation for oily skin. It has a nice finish and covers my blemishes well. I haven't used it long enough to see if it helps my acne, but it doesn't seem to be making my sensitive skin worse. I have only one (kinda major) problem with it: it makes me look like an oompa loompa. Yes indeed. I am white and Almay is orange. I KNEW it would be the wrong shade, yet I ignored my instincts and bought it anyway. I really like the foundation itself, but the color fails to match my skin, and so I must sadly return it and continue my search for foundation.

Eyeliner -Jordana - Fabu Liner Liquid Eyeliner Pen
MakeMeUp14326 5/12/2010 10:24:00 AM
This is my favorite eyeliner...although, I must admit, I'm not an eyeliner expert. Still, this is really good. I love the fact that it's a liquid eyeliner in a pen form. It's incredibly easy to apply. My only problem with it is that it dries out fairly quickly. Other than that, it's great for the price and I will repurchase it forevermore.
