Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment-Shimmertime
MacAtFirstSight 10/9/2010 6:52:00 PM
It's a pigment form of naked lunch, which is my all time favorite eyeshadow color. The only difference that i can tell is that shimmertime actually seems a bit less shimmery than naked lunch, not as pigmented. however i love using it for highlighting my face as well as a simple all over the lid wash. very easy to use and versatile. got this in a set with blacktrack fluidline for $29 at cco so i think the price was actually expensive. blacktrack is normally $16 i think, and pigments usually run for $19.50 and i can get pigments that are 7.5g size for $14 at CCO, so i actually consider the set not really worth the money. but i needed a new gel liner and wanted the pigment so whatevers. the mascara, mini brush and the pouch that came with the set is really useless for me. i don't like mac mascaras and i already have the brush.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
MacAtFirstSight 9/7/2010 7:27:00 PM
I bought this during a sale, so i got 2 for $5. First off, the formula is really wet, but i like that because it allows me to apply multiple coats before becoming flaky like other mascaras. Second, this is not a fiber mascara. I initially thought it was because i read somewhere, but it's just like any other mascara. it has not fibers to lengthen. However, it does lengthen your lashes as well as give them volume, which is why I like it so much. I also like the design of the wand. It's a curved shape that allows me to get my outer corner lashes that are always left uncoated and uncurled for whatever reason. This mascara gives my lashes a very wispy look, which I really like, because it opens up my eyes. I experienced with many other masacaras as well that the mascara gets better with age. After initial application, you find this mascara to be too wet, don't use it for about a week-2 weeks and use it again. i assure you it'll apply better. there's no science to prove this, but in my experience, it's worked.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
MacAtFirstSight 7/18/2010 2:36:00 AM
I was excited to try this because of all the good reviews this mascara had. I have to say that I really do like this mascara. I actually like the bristles on this more than any other mascara, because it separates my lashes and doesn't put too much product on my lashes like some other mascaras do. I think the bristles actually are the reason that not a lot of product is distributed on the lashes. Anyway, I love this mascara for a natural look like many of the reviewers say, because it doesn't create much volume, but gives plenty of definition and separation. I like to use this as base for another volume mascara. Holds the curl really well for me, and I will buy this again.

Palettes -MAC - Royal Assets 6 Cool Eyes Holiday 2007
MacAtFirstSight 7/18/2010 2:25:00 AM
I love this palette. this was my first ever mac eyeshadow that I bought and is still the only "palette" i own besides the singles. I love everything about this palette and seriously love every single e/s that comes with it. However, my favorite shadow has to be Queen's jewel. It's the most unique purple shadow I've seen. on pan, it looks similar to deep truth, but it is definitely not blue when it's on the lid. It's a bright royal purple that really flatters my eyes and skintone. I think it will look good on everyone. I love the fact that this palette has all the pinks and purples I will ever need because I don't normally wear a lot of color. But if I ever want to wear color, this is my go to palette. The great thing about this palette is that I got it at the CCO for a lot less than retail. 30% off retail, so I consider the price point of this palette to be quite affordable. The only thing about this palette that some people might not like is that it doesn't come with a useable brow bone highlight color. But seriously, I don't go to this palette for anything other than just plain beautiful color. I've had this palette for 2 years now and it's still as good as new. Quality of the shadows are still good

Eye Shadow -New York Color - Color Wheel Mosaic Eye Powder - Brown Sugar
MacAtFirstSight 6/1/2010 11:30:00 AM
I got this at CVS for $0.25 after a $1 off coupon and 75% off sale... so it was seriously dirt cheap. I got this in "brown sugar" and am really happy with the quality of the product. I initially swatched it on my hand with fingers and q-tip and was so underwhelmed with the pigmentation of the product. but since the reviews were good, i decided to wear it today. it makes a huge different when used with brush! the product is easy to pack on and blend. it's a lot more pigmented when used with a brush. i wouldn't even recommend using a sponge tip applicator [it wouldn't pick up much product]. the colors are a lot more cooler than the "brown eyed girl" mosaic powder. i chose this one because the colors were more gold and neutral. i'd definitely recommend you to check out cvs and pick this up :)

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Lilac Pastelle 200
MacAtFirstSight 5/21/2010 11:54:00 PM
I am absolutely loving this lip gloss. i normally do not wear lip products because i hate the sticky feeling. but this lip gloss is not sticky at all. it has a gel consistency that's really soft and smooth on the lips. it's also pretty pigmented, which i love!!! it's also moisturizing for my lips, and i have very dry lips w/o lip conditioner. definitely will repurchase.

Foundations -Stila - one step makeup [DISCONTINUED]
MacAtFirstSight 5/17/2010 11:33:00 AM
I am really liking this product. Got it as a sample and am wearing it today. It feels very light on the skin but covers decently. I got it in medium and it matches my NC25-30, Nars SG Punjab, MUFE HD 120-123 skin perfectly. I was afraid this foundation was going to go on greasy like the illuminating liquid fdnt, but it doesn't. It almost dries to a powder finish, disguising my pores and rosacea. However, I do find that this foundation is on the expensive side, along with MUFE and Nars. It's $44! I'm not sure I'll be buying it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Naked Lunch
MacAtFirstSight 5/14/2010 2:26:00 PM
I really like Naked Lunch, although I think that it's not the most pigmented shadow. I have to pack on the color to get that gorgeous brightening affect of my lids. What I do like about this shadow is that it goes with any color. I wear Naked lunch all over the lid with almost anything on the crease to make it look really natural and shimmery. I'm wearing this today with mulch and romp. It looks gorgeous and great for the day time. I would definitely buy this shadow again. Also, putting this on my lower lashline makes my eyes so much brighter. edit: I've been using this constantly ever since I got it. It's quickly become my HG e/s and am bumping the rating from 4 starts to 5. I find it more pigmented than I originally found it to be. Maybe it was the new layer breaking through when I first used it, because whenever I use this now I find it very pigmented and really pretty and for those of you who find stila's kitten too frosty, you'll love naked lunch. it's what i wanted stila kitten to be. :D

Eye Shadow -MAC - Honey Lust (Lustre)
MacAtFirstSight 5/10/2010 3:46:00 PM
i really like honey lust. it looks like gold mode pigment on my lid. I've avoided buying this shadow because i've heard so much crap about lustre shadows. But I really think that lustre is not as bad as many people make it out to be. i experienced no fall out. i like the fact that it's so shimmery. it's like pigment in pressed form. it looks pretty with alot of different shadows. today, i wore this all over the lid with memorabilia on the crease and outer v. looks really good with purples, browns, oranges... you name it. definitely a universally flattering shadow.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Bronzer Brush
MacAtFirstSight 5/3/2010 2:29:00 AM
I love this brush. Personally, I find this brush to be the best brush that EcoTools came out with. Most people like the blush brush, but this bronzer brush is far better and should be the #1 must buy product from the line. I love the bamboo handle because it feels really sturdy and also eco-friendly. the brush is really dense and soft that it's a pleasure to use it. the only down side to this brush is that it takes longer for it to dry compared to other brushes. you really don't need another bronzer brush from different more HE line, since this brush is really good quality and you'll definitely love it.

Blush -NARS - Exhibit A
MacAtFirstSight 2/15/2010 2:21:00 PM
I have finally found my HG blush. I've been wearing this every single day since I've got it. I'm NC25-30, and this blush is the perfect out of the cold, flushed, glowy blush that makes me just glow and look very awake. It's extremely pigmented, so i use the MAC 168 and dab very slightly for one cheek. It looks like a tomato red color on the pan, and applies so very well. it also blends really easily, so it's easy to use. The blush is matte, but something about the color gives your skin a more glowy look. i always thought that the blush has to be shimmery to give a glowy look, but it is not the case with this blush. if you are contemplating, i suggest you just buy it. it is beautiful!!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #165 Contouring Brush [DISCONTINUED]
MacAtFirstSight 2/1/2010 12:32:00 AM
I love this brush. What I love most about it is that it's a very versatile brush that can do many different things. You can use it for foundation [cream or liquid] You can use it for blush, contour, highlight and this brush doesn't shed like 109. and it's also the softest brush, similar to 138 [which is by far the softest mac brush i have tried] i use this brush mainly for blush, and it's perfect because it can deposit the right amount of color on the spot that i want, and blend. i used to have both 116 and 129 and was not satisfied with either of them. 165 is the best i've used for blush, and i rec anyone interested to go out and get it. :D

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mulch eyeshadow
MacAtFirstSight 1/29/2010 2:55:00 AM
This eyeshadow is HG for an everyday or a brown smokey eye look. I can do a look with just this one eyeshadow and it'll still look fabulous. no other shadow can bring out my eyes, and i love mulch for that. I also like the fact that this shadow is not too warm, because I really hate red browns like sable. instead, it's a gorgeous chocolate brown with gold flecks in it which makes this shadow look almost duo-tone when you have it on your lids. i'm nc25-30 with brown eyes and brown hair for reference, and this eyeshadow is my favorite brown from mac. i love it even more than satin taupe!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Lively #308
MacAtFirstSight 1/13/2010 9:52:00 PM
I really like this duo. it's my very first hip duo, and was dissappointed at first, but learned to like it. The matte medium brown side is a great dupe of MAC's seedling. Works really well as a gradiation color for my nc25-30 skin. The green side is a great dupe of MAC's humid. You can also use it with mixing medium and use it as a liner. I find that I reach for this duo quite often and have to say that I got my money's worth since I paid 75% off of the retail at CVS
