Lipstick -Christian Dior - Ultra-Shine Sheer Lipcolor 680- Shiniest Mauve
Jenny 10/7/2004 10:55:00 PM
Okay, this has an obnoxious pervasive plastic floral scent. But I'm willing to tolerate it for this color. A shimmery and shiny, but not frosty, mauve shade. Goes well with my GA LSF 5, black hair, brown eyes coloring. I also tried Shiniest Beige, Shiniest Coral and Shiniest Rose. Shiniest Mauve was my favorite out of the four.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Dior Addict Ultra-Shine Sheer Lipcolor in 222- Shiniest Beige
Jenny 10/7/2004 10:47:00 PM
Like the name implies, it is shiny. Shimmery but not overly frosty. On me, this is a beigish pink and it did not go well with my coloring (GA LSF 5, black hair, brown eyes). It has this strong plastic floral scent that I can barely tolerate. Feels thick and slick on the lips. I got a sample of this and have no plans to purchase it. However, as another reviewer did, I purchased Shiniest Mauve.

Concealers -Stephane Marais - Concealer
Jenny 6/14/2004 4:41:00 PM

CONS: thick, cakey, artificial looking; COMMENTS: a Bendel's MA used this on me (recommending that I pat this on) and while she tried to convince me that it hid my undereye circles nicely, it just didn't blend well (even after I decided that a little rubbing might be necessary). Needless to say, despite the hard sell, I didn't buy this.

Liquid -Stephane Marais - Fluid Foundation
Jenny 6/10/2004 9:59:00 AM
PROS: very lightweight, lots of slip, decent color range; CONS: I had a difficult time putting this on because I couldn't tell where I had put this and if I had used enough product, there is very little coverage; COMMENTS: comes in a tube, I don't plan to repurchase, I think this has lighter coverage than Px Traceless

Sunscreen -Kanebo - Sundestressor for Face SPF 30 (Firming Formula)
Jenny 5/2/2004 9:19:00 PM
PROS: matte finish, spreads easily; pleasant peach scent; CONS: despite claims, there is a slight whitish cast; COMMENTS: $50 for 75 mL (not as expensive as LaMer but still pricey); I didn't detect any firming effect (but then I really don't need a firming effect at my age); lotion form comes in a tube; active sunscreen ingredients include: zinc oxide, coated titanium oxide; also contains mineral oil as well as alcohol (one of the last listed ingredients)

Cleansers -Kanebo - Cleansing Oil
Jenny 5/2/2004 9:02:00 PM
PROS: pump dispenser, melts makeup off (no surprise since one of the main ingredients is mineral oil); CONS: Expensive, $40 for 150 mL; COMMENTS: I think there are other cleansing oils out there that are just as effective and for less money.

Liquid -Kanebo - Kanebo Liquid Finish
Jenny 4/25/2004 10:08:00 PM
PROS: has slip, blends easily, feels good on, light-medium coverage; CONS: makes pores more prominent as day wears on, didn't last as long as I would have like; COMMENTS: I had a sample, and I do not plan to purchase this.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Mini Brush Set (in hard cylindrical case)
Jenny 9/24/2003 10:16:00 AM
PROS: portable, hard case so brushes won't be crushed, BB quality brushes; CONS: limited brushes (blush, eyeshadow, liner); COMMENTS: faux leather mini cylindrical roll has snap closures. Inside, the roll is divided into two sections. One section has elastic bands to hold the brushes. The other section contains a small mirror and can be used to house a very tiny amount of makeup or other mini brushes. Limited edition item sells for $50.

Treatments -Prescriptives - Dermapolish System
Jenny 6/11/2003 5:01:00 PM
PROS: left skin feeling soft, unique packaging for moisturizer (a pump driven jar that reduces contamination); CONS: Expensive ($125), timer is unnecessary; COMMENTS: Three step system includes a physical exfoliator, a soothing mist and a moisturizer. Each step contains about 1 oz of product. The exfoliator seems more abrasive than Remede Sweep. I have mixed feelings about repurchasing.

Concealers -Kevyn Aucoin - The Sensual Skin Enhancer
Jenny 1/31/2003 9:51:00 PM
PROS: Feels very light on; a nice finish that is slightly powdery; COMMENTS: I have mixed feelings about repurchasing. It is rather expensive at $42 for about 2/3 of an ounce pot, but a little does go a long way. I agree with the others who recommend this as a concealer rather than a foundation. It is VERY pigmented...a pin-head would cover both undereye regions. I'd consider a thick, dry cream. You should moisturize before putting this on, as it dries quickly (thus you need to blend quickly). Without moisturizer, it will collect in creases and emphasize pores and flakes. As a foundation, you have to be careful with the amount you use, or it will look mask-like. I wear can wear Bobbi Brown Sand and the sx06 in KA worked fine. The sx06 had a lot of yellow in it.

Highlighters -NARS - Body Glow
Jenny 1/27/2003 4:32:00 PM
COMMENTS: tiare scented body oil with sheer chocolate shimmer; tendancy to solidify during cold weather; a little too sheer for my taste and overpriced

Other -Caboodles - Makeup Cases
Jenny 1/27/2003 4:29:00 PM
PROS: reasonably priced; COMMENTS: these are good for teens (that's when I had mine) as many have bright colors. Durable plastic. The model I had had a built-in mirror, accordion style shelves, and compartments for lipsticks. It was great when I could fit my makeup in a shoebox. That time has long since passed.

Liquid -Lancome - Photogenic [DISCONTINUED]
Jenny 1/27/2003 4:24:00 PM
COMMENTS: I have mixed feelings about this foundation. It gives a pretty luminous finish with medium coverage, but feels heavier than I would like. I have combination skin prone to oiliness in the T-zone; I quickly had oil breakthrough on the nose.
