Tinted Moisturizer -Christian Dior - Hydraction Deep Hydration Skin Tint SPF 20 [DISCONTINUED]

One word...outstanding!i'm usually a 'full coverage powder foundation' kind of guy mainly because of my super uneven skin tone and the fact that on liquid/cream product seems to grab by skin(it comes off as i'm puttin it on!) so imagine my suprise wen this bad boy just smoothed on...and covered like a dream!don't get me wrong, its still a tm so if i want a fuller coverage i still dust a little powder foundation over the top but alone the finish is beautiful so anyone with less imperfections would need nothing else!i'm truely amazed!the texture is creamy but doesn't break out or grease up my oily/combo skin and even tho its spf20 it doesn't leave my skin all congested!obviously its not the cheapest thing in the world but seeing as i require no additional moisture i'm getting my day cream, foundation and the bonus of sun protection for a little over £20...so thats a bargain in my book(i've regularly paid over £60 for a combination of the 3 separately from much cheaper brands) love it love it...definatly repurchase!

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

I love this stuff!i had a compact in my makeup bag 4 weeks before i even tried it...i was scared of the breakouts everyone talks about but thankfully it hasn't happened!i apply on well moisturised skin with a big dense powder brush in a circular motion!i like a FULL coverage and i get it with only a tiny bit of product...and it only takes about 2-3 minutes!now i know that this won't b 4 everyone...its very dry so only for the oilier skins that like a nice matt finish, and it is high cover so if u like a 'fresh and natural' finish, look elsewhere!but personally i like total matt perfection that last all day so untill they invent a full face transplant i'll be sticking with studiofix! Update...a few months have past and still lovin my sf...and obviously no break outs!i've religiously used a brush to apply as per advice on here but the other day i was in a mega hurry n couldn't find my beloved powder brush so thought i'd risk the sponge just once(despite the fear of the 'cakey mess' horror stories) and it turns out i quite like it this way too...a much faster track to my desired coverage the a quick once over with a fluffy powder brush and i really can't see the difference from buffing it on...apart from the fact that it takes half the time and i don't have powder flying all over the place!been using it this way for a few weeks now(washing the sponge every few days) and i'm pretty sure i'll stick to it! I'm sure most people prefer brush but my advice is give the sponge a chance...it might surprise u!xxx update2...while this still holds a place in my heart i have had to put it to the bottom of my bag for a while, it was always a bit yellow looking on my summer skin but now the winter has come and i'm back to being a med/fair ool tone it just looks ridiculous! wen back to mac to sort the problem and guess wot...every shade looked too yellow!oh well, i've found a new love in diorskin forever and they make a good pinky tone so i'm happy either way!

Masks -Clarins - Pure and Radiant Mask with Pink Clay

I think i'm in agreement with everyone else...i got this mask as a present from a friend because they know i'm a clarins fan!its a lovely mask to use...feels nice, easy to rinse, smells nice...however,i don't really think it does a lot!my skin always looks and feels nice after but seeing as its meant to be 'purifying' i would expect a reduction in blocked pores etc but i don't :-( sadly i must say i prefer my boots no7 hydroquench sauna mask!just as easy, half the price with much more noticeable results!

Powder -Clarins - Express Compact Foundation Wet and Dry [DISCONTINUED]

Foundationboy 2/9/2008 5:59:00 PM

Right...i've just deleted my original review of this from when i used it alone as a foundation...basically i said it was amazing!i'm now using it as a powder over a mousse foundation so i figured i should change things on here!i apply my foundation (boots no7 intelligent balance mousse...also wicked!) then use a small blusher brush to buff the clarins on over it...basically this tickes smooth, matt, flawless skin to a whole new level!i suggested this to a friend and she now does the same thing over her dior forever foundation and it has the same amazing effect!if u have a foundation lying around that is almost perfect i bet this will give it that little push to perfection!

Crème -Lancome - Magique Mousse Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Foundationboy 1/29/2008 2:01:00 PM

Amazing foundation...thats all i can say!don't b fooled by dream matte mousse...mousse foundations really are amazing!all the bad reviews on here i think are because people aren't using it right!u need to buff it on for a medium to full coverage,or use a foundation brush for a very light cover!if u apply with fingers or sponge it will just move around and never settle!all this being said wen it came to gettin my second jar of this amazing product i discovered that boots no7 do an IDENTICAL product, the only difference being a 30g jar as opposed to lancome's 18g and on top of this its just under half the price!if u can get no7 do it...if not lancome's is still well worth the higher price tag!

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
rated 2 of 5
Foundationboy 1/24/2008 5:46:00 PM

This is just my initial review as i've only been on it for a week but so far i'm impressed!i was startin to feel that my face was never really clean and many of my friends told me that the path to a truely clean skin is clinique, which i have always avoided for fear that my rosy, reactive Skin would b burnt to a bright red crisp!well seein as the stuffs dirt cheap compared to what i usually use i figured i'd try the face wash and clarifying lotion in extra strength and 3!well let me tell u...the stuff is like an industrial jet wash 4 ur face...u'll never feel more refreshed!but listen to the SA when they tell u to get dramatically different...you need this as well as a normal moisturizer...i learnt this the hard way!but now its all under control i'm loving it,my skin is clean, fresh with much less oil and if anything my redness is fading rather than getting worse!i'll update soon as i've heard that the real benefits start after about a month so it might just get better! Update...as promised,i've been using this for about 5 weeks now,and i love it even more!i did go thru a bit of a rocky week during which my skin was really greasy,i got a few blemishes and my pores looked huge!but i battled on and since then my skin has been amazing!no sign of a spot for weeks when i used to get a couple a week!and obviously my face is smooth and always looks fresh and clean!now i don't know about these stories of thinning skin and causing aging but certainly for now i will b sticking with my 3 step!give it a go! Update...just gettin to the end of my face wash and clarifying lotion and i've had a bit of a change of heart, seems this is the same as most cheap products with cheap ingredients...good immediate effect but i'm starting to see the damage its doing my skin already!i've just given myself a good old clarins facial and my face already looks and feels better!i might give the 3 step another go sometime, but for now i think i'll leave it! *update* after my initial raving about my 3step a friend has just bought me a top up of the wash and clarifying lotion as a present(not realising that i've changed my mind on them) and as i have no receipt i had to swap for other clinique products which i wasn't too happy about, but seein as i'll never use the strong stuff i took a chance on the anti-redness cleanser and mild clarifying lotion hoping it will keep my blemishes away as well as the no3 without burning my face off!just used it for the first time and it feels nice...but we'll see!lol!

Moisturizers -Clarins - Extra Firming Night Cream
rated 4 of 5
Foundationboy 1/24/2008 5:28:00 PM

Well, seeing as i've just turned 24 i felt it time i got this aging thing under control!(ridiculous i know but my plan is to stay a teenager forever!) this cream is a pleasure to use, soft, quick to absorb and makes skin feel and smell beautiful!although it seems rich i don't find it too heavy for my oily skin,i simply use my clinique 3 step and after my dd gel i apply this and bang...perfect smooth skin that feels so good the next morning its almost a shame to put make ur on!bit pricey at 44pounds but hey...if u can't treat urself whats the point?!

Liquid -MAC - Select SPF 15 Foundation
rated 2 of 5
Foundationboy 12/18/2007 3:22:00 AM

I wanted to try a good mac foundation cos i've heard some great things,i asked the MA for good coverage and a matte finish, and this is what i got!well i tried it and i've gotta say its neither heavy or matte, that bein said it does leave a lovely finish and with a little extra concealing work i can get the coverage i'm after!so i used it for a few weeks...got bored and went back to my clarins powder compact(which i love) then a few days ago thought i'd re-try my mac and i'm not happy!the finish and wear etc is the same as ever but this time my skin didn't like it at all, when i took it off parts of my face were actually burning, and now i have 4 huge spots, considering i didn't have a single blemish for over 3 months while using my clarins this is a pretty extreme reaction...and i only had it on for 5 hrs!

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
rated 3 of 5
Foundationboy 12/7/2007 2:39:00 AM

Love these,i still have some kickin around somewhere!i will agree that they do the trick...get rid of oil without moving makeup, but one day a friend of mine felt one and observed a huge similarity to a cigarette paper(the one's used for roll ups) seemed silly to me but i'll try anything once!and guess wot...no difference!still picks ur all the oil, still leaves my makeup where it should b,and there's no coating that can harm my skin...and i've gotta say that a pack of 50 for 22p is a definate plus...all hail the skincare benefits of rizla!trust me just try it!

Treatments -Clarins - Truly Matte Pore Minimizing Serum
rated 5 of 5
Foundationboy 12/2/2007 6:13:00 PM

Bit confused bout all the low reviews...but this product has been reformulated recently so some of u could have the old one?i have the new one and it does something that no other pore refiner does...it refines my pores!i've tried just about everything and they've either done nothing at all,or they're nothing more than a mattifying base that fills pores in under ur make up,this one however is a really light fluid that u don't even know is there, instantly absorbed leaving a nice matt finish, and obviously the most important thing is that after a few weeks i could see a real difference in my skin!smoother texture, smaller pores, less blackheads and it even seems to calm down the few breakouts i sometimes get on my chin!all this and its only £18.50 a bottle, and one bottle lasts me about 6 months using a good amount twice a day...amazing investment in my book!

Powder -Chanel - Mat Lumiere Luminous Matte Powder Makeup SPF 10
rated 1 of 5
Foundationboy 12/2/2007 12:02:00 PM

This takes all the guess work out of make up!i know That no matter how much time and effort i put it...no matter what tools i use to apply...i'm gonna look like crap!haha!now i'm a make up artist so i know the difference between a Powder foundation and a pressed powder...and this is certainly the latter!the coverage is almost non-existant,and if u really heap the stuff on untill it makes any remote difference its so dry that u look like ur made of dust!i agree with the previous review...over a foundation i'm sure it performs sensibly...but lets be honest, this stuff is made and marketed as a foundation and in this role it isn't worth the ridiculous 30pound price tag!if u want a power foundation avoid chanel like the plague and if u want a setting powder use chanels normal pressed powder, its cheaper and so much better!

Cleansers -Clarins - Cleansing Milk for oily to normal
rated 4 of 5
Foundationboy 12/2/2007 2:12:00 AM

My only everyday cleanser!i love it!its so nice to find a cleansing lotion for oily skin...usually u have to make do with some horrid sticky gel or a Wash, which are nice but a bit of a pain to use and lack the pampering feeling!the main thing with this product is how u use it...another reviewer mentioned the suction method, and as silly as i felt doin it the first time,i gotta say it really works!also note this is a facial cleanser...NOT designed to remove eye and lip colour and MUST be used with the toner every time...there are 'one step' products available for speed but this is not one of then!if u want lovely clean, fresh skin and a good excuse to feel a bit pampered everyday this is a winner! ...

Moisturizers -Clarins - Multi Active Jour Protection Plus
rated 5 of 5
Foundationboy 12/1/2007 1:26:00 PM

I've recently decided this in my ultimate day lotion!i was foolish enough to try another in an attempt to find summat better but realised i couldn't so i'm back and couldn't b happier!I have quite oily skin but still want summat that will give me some moisture, have an spf,and smell nice!this does all of these!i was reluctant at first because when u first put this on it feels pretty greasy(mainly because of the spf)but very quickly sinks into the skin leaving it smooth and perfectly prepared for make up(i love this under my powder foundation because it gives enough 'stick' to apply my foundation easily without making me oily) the long term effects are the winner though,i use both the day and night lotions and i've really noticed a difference in my skin, obviously i don't know if its preventing the aging process but i know my skin looks good!even if i'm havin a hectic time with not enough sleep it doesn't show on my face,it keeps me lookin well rested even when i'm far from it!a real winner in my book...expensive but so worth it!

Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup

Foundationboy 11/27/2007 7:09:00 PM

Well wot a shame!as u will see from my review...i seriously love my clarins powder foundation, but in the irrational need to try new things i wanted to try this based mainly on the good reviews i read on here!wot was even better,a friend of mine had a near unused compact that was my perfect colour,so she handed it over to me!must be my lucky day, great new makeup and its free!well i got home and put it on and things weren't great from the start, while the powder was a lovely soft golden shade in the pan it was more of a muddy beige on my face, but knowing what i know about powder foundations,i gave it some time knowing that sometimes even my beloved claims needs a few minutes to settle to a perfect finish,so i went about my evening n checked a few hours later, not only had it not improved...it had gotten so much worse,my nose was so oily it looked like it was made of glass...my usually smooth cheeks looked all powdery and caked...and as for the colour it was still a horrid beige but now it wasn't even an all over beige,it looked like i had about 10 different shades of dirty mud in patches all over my face!i know make up is a very personal thing and this won't happen to everyone but i will definately say, don't buy without trying a sample at home or at least checking the return policy just in case!i'm just thankfull i didn't shell out 21.50 on something that made me look so awful!
