This is the best floral I've ever smelled! I realized that I'm not the floral type of gal but I am liking this one! I can dress up or down with this one and feel elegant. This is more of a "good girl" perfume that can be worn to work or to the meeting with the in-laws, but probably not to a club where you dance the night away. I sprayed this on a paper strip and left it on my shelves for days. Everytimes I went pass the shelves I noticed this inviting, soft, warm floral scent. I couldn't stop sniffling the paper strip so today I gave it a try on my wrist. Interestingly enough, it smells rather fresh and cool. Although I prefer the richer scent on the paper strip, I think I'm gonna pick up a roll-on for $13 at Sephora soon. Perhaps this will smell a bit differently if I apply at other spots. **Update: This smells plastic and synthetic on me after retrying it several times. =( one lippy off now...

Fragrances -Valentino - Valentino V Absolu
rated 5 of 5
Bigcolour 11/10/2006 12:26:00 AM

On me, this smells very similar to Burberry Classic (former Burberry London) to my nose! Burberry Classic is probably more fruity as it has a distinct blackcurrant topnote which I find very refreshing and tones down the sweetness of vanilla. However, after the blackcurrant disappears, Burberry Classic smells just like V Absolu except the latter one has better staying power. I'd say that V Absolu is more suitable for the cooler seasons and the nights out on the town as this fragrance is not light at all and it sure will make a statement.

This review is for the EAU PARFUMEE SANS ALCOOL version. I actually really enjoy the powdery note because I think that's what makes this fragrance soft and delicate. It's sweet without being foody or cloying at all and I haven't found anything smelling similar to this yet. I'd urge everyone to sample it cuz I've received many compliments when wearing this. I will most likely buy this again after running out.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Acqua di Gio (for women)
rated 4 of 5
Bigcolour 11/5/2006 12:59:00 AM

I am surprised that this fragrance (EDT) lasts longer than many of my EDPs! It is a beautiful floral with the dominant scent of jasmine mixing with aquatic notes. It can be heady at first if not using a light hand. It is suitable all year round but works its best in the summer IMO. I have to admit though that I like the men's version a lot more. I'm not sure if I will repurchase because I like to explore new stuff on the market. Nevertheless, this is a high quality fragrance that I would highly recommend to any floral fans.

I gave this a try because of the good reviews about its sexy woody scent. WRONG! On me it just smelled like hair spray... old lady hair spray. It was so strong that I just went straight home and tried to wash it off. It's more like a "grandma in a bottle" to me.

Fragrances -Cartier - eau de Cartier
rated 5 of 5
Bigcolour 10/30/2006 12:55:00 AM

I bought this unsniffled based on the good reviews here, and I have to say that I'm not disappointed at all! Light, clean, and refreshing! It smells citrusy and leafy initially and dries down to a just-out-of-shower kinda scent. Although it is classified as unisex, I still feel feminine while wearing it. I would've given it 5 lippies if it could last longer... I need to apply much more generously and frequently with this one. Right now I am using the 5 ml sample and notice about 1/6 is already gone after using it for 3 days or so. However, I still ordered a 15 ml bottle because of the scent and great packaging! **UPDATE: OH BOY AM I HOOKED!!! I'm giving it 5 lippies now. I've had many people telling me how good I smell whenever I wear this and it's so effortless! Definitely not one of those generic unisex fragrances. This one is minimal but signals CLASS.

Fragrances -Stella McCartney - Stella- Eau de Parfum
rated 3 of 5
Bigcolour 10/4/2006 1:08:00 AM

Stella is a beautiful and sophisticated rose scent. I'm not too crazy about its opening because it's rather sharp and somehow citrusy on me. What I love is its drydown, which takes about an hour to develop on my skin, and it's just an uncomplicated, soft rosey scent that lingers for hours. I like wearing it to bed and waking up with a hint of rose. It'd be more suitable in the cooler weather. I have the 30ml bottle; it's small enough to carry but the packaging isn't as attractive as the larger bottles IMO. I just started my fragrance journey and right now am in a perfume sampling phase. I probably won't repurchase it again because I don't find myself reaching for Stella that often. Nonetheless, I would recommend this to ladies who want a truly rosey scent.

Fragrances -Lacoste - Lacoste Pour Femme

Bigcolour 10/2/2006 3:51:00 AM

I wanted to like this perfume because the initial spray smelled sooooo clean and soft, with a hint of unoffensive powdery scent! However, after a few minutes, that beautiful light floral disappeared. Instead, I got this plastic scent that at worst smelled like bathroom cleaning products... I guess my body chemistry really doesn't agree with this perfume as I've tried it twice and there was no luck at all. I do know someone who wears this well though. Too bad I'm not that person. :*(

Fragrances -Lancaster - Lovely Liquid Satin by Sarah Jessica Parker
rated 5 of 5
Bigcolour 9/30/2006 1:29:00 AM

This is the first time I gave in for a full-sized bottle. (Well, there are only the $39 4.4 ml rollerball pen and the $89 100ml bottle to choose from.) I remember I didn't like the original Lovely, but I fell in love with this one right away. It is much softer and closer to the skin. The beautiful drydown settles in rather quickly and stays for a couple of hours. (If I spray it before sleep I can still smell it the next morning when I wake up.) The rosewood note is the most prominent on me, and that's why I love this fragrance so much as I'm more drawn to woody than floral scent. The only thing that I don't like so far is the price tag. However, by the time I finish this bottle, the price might have gone down a bit. I will probably be able to find some good deals online... I'm expecting this scent to grow on me, so for now I'm gonna say yes to repurchase. UPDATE: I'm lovin' it! I'm adding one more lippy cuz I feel feminine and oh-so-chic everytime I wear it.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Strip Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
Bigcolour 9/11/2006 12:15:00 AM

This is my all-time favourite eyeshadow! It appears grey-ish silver with a hint of blue on me. (I have fair to medium Asian skin.) The pigment is very dense and with just a little dab the colour goes on smoothly. I find it compliments my brown eyes and makes them pop even without eyeliner. It's perfect for creating smokey eyes as well! I sure will repurchase when I run out!

Fragrances -Issey Miyake - Le Feu d'Issey Light
rated 5 of 5
Bigcolour 9/10/2006 11:55:00 PM

This is in my Top 3!! A very unusual scent: woody, spicy, ambery but soft. I totally agree with aileendq and jessied007. This perfume is sexy with an edge. I'm glad that I don't smell it on many people. This is not my day-to-day fragrance but it goes with almost everything in my wardrobe...from distressed jeans to a classy little black dress. It's more suitable for evenings or in the cooler weather. This is a somewhat mature scent in my opinion. I'm now 25 and have been wearing this for 3 years. My first bottle was actually a refill. There were two refill bottles in a pack. My friend and I wanted to try new fragrance so we split the cost and each of us owned one. That came down to approx. $25 CAD per refill bottle. I hope it's not and won't be discontinued because I plan on repurchasing and repurchasing!

Fragrances -Bulgari - BLV Notte
rated 5 of 5
Bigcolour 9/10/2006 10:46:00 PM

I LOVE this scent! It's sensual, sexy, mysterious, and intimate. I'd classify it as oriental because of its powdery musky incensery aroma. The drydown is beautifully soft and very close to the skin. I can't detect the notes of vodka or chocolate though but perhaps it's just my inexperienced nose. The last power is amazing. I lightly spritzed both upper arms at 9am today and I can still smell it at 10:30pm! At first it feels quite strong so apply with moderation. I like the look of the bottle, classy and simple. However, the lid on my bottle doesn't click tightly... but I'll live with it. I just started wearing this fragrance but am already getting compliments! ;) It makes me feel sexy and mysterious. This will make a perfect fall-winter fragrance and I'm glad that I'm ready for the cold weather!...hmmm, but maybe not the heavy snow and bitter wind.

Fragrances -Burberry - Burberry Classic EDP
rated 5 of 5
Bigcolour 8/21/2006 5:14:00 PM

I think I just found my new favourite! I have been looking for a new fragrance that is different and unique. I wouldn't have noticed Burberry London Original (now called Burberry Classic) if the sales lady didn't suggest it because the bottle simply didn't catch my attention. The first smell was very interesting and I quite liked it to be honest! I'm not good at picking out notes but I definitely got the mixture of green apple, peach and vanilla. YUMMM!!! It smells sweet without being overwhelming and I think it's the cedar that balances it out. The scent is comforting, uplifting and sophisticated at the same time. I can't stop sniffling myself or the bottle!!! It's got a little "kick" so it's probably better for the fall/winter season although I think I'll be able to wear it all-year round. I love its drydown. My only complaint is the lasting power... I have to re-apply several times during the day to keep the wonderful scent with me. One lippy off for that. Next time I should try layering it with the lotion that comes with the package. Update: Despite the weak lasting power, I will repurchase again because I really love how it smells on me. But perhaps I will buy it on ebay. **UPDATE: I'm giving it 5 lippies. I don't care if I need to re-apply. I luuuuuuurve the smell of it!

Liquid -Clarins - Colour Tint [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Bigcolour 4/21/2005 11:00:00 PM

After seeing the great reviews of this product here, I decided to give it a try. I have to say, it is the most natural-looking foundation I've ever used. The colour (02) matches perfectly with my skin, and it provids enough coverage while giving a healthy glow. However, so far I've only used it twice because after each time I used it, there were many little bumps on my face that took at least a week to clear. I really want to love and use this colour tint, but I'm just not sure if I should risk my skin again... :( ***UPDATE: I gave it another try without applying powder afterwards, and I didn't get allergic reaction!! This is such a joyful discovery!!! However, I now don't like the scent which is overpowering and collides with my perfume. I probably will not repurchase.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Facial Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
Bigcolour 3/30/2005 4:56:00 AM

I bought this cleanser out of curiosity, and I wanted to try something new. It worked wonderfully at first, but after using it for several weeks, I started to find it too drying. Somehow I don't feel it cleanses that well, and I've noticed my skin does breakout more often (but maybe it's because of the changing weather). I like the packaging, but I won't buy it again. I think I'll go back to Nivea Oil-Control cleanser (the one with green gel and scrubby beads).
