OMG... its SHEER... WTH? I got this for my birthday and only just got around to trying it... I'm really displeased. I despise sheer polish and I wasn't expecting it with this one.

Polishes -NARS - Candy Darling

Engh... Well here we are, candy darling. If you picture this colo in your head, you probably think of a pale pink. Cd is actually a very pale ivory and EXTREMELY SHEER. not sheer like a top coat, but like you can count the bristles in the brushstrokes sheer. It needs 3+ coats to look nice. Thing is, when you get enough coats with a billion hours of drying time in between, the color is amaaaaaaaaaaazeing. Like everyone else said YNBB. like you wish your nails were this nice lol. So this is mad expensive. I got mine off eBay buy they retail for about $15. Ew. I need to find a good dupe of this.

Polishes -Maybelline - Express Finish - Iced Mauve #250
rated 4 of 5

There is not one thing about this polish that is mauve. Not even freaking close. Mauve is a dusty pinky, purple, this is a peachy, sandy nude closer to iced adobe if anything. That being said, its a very nice color, my favorite nude! It does go on a bit sheer, so you have to use about three coats. It DOES dry rather quickly. Throw on a coat of SV and you're good to go.

Polishes -China Glaze - Crackle Glaze - Black Mesh
rated 5 of 5

So this is the black of the Crackle Glaze collection. Its pure awesome. I wasn't able to get ahold of OPI's Shatter, but frankly, with the china Glaze collection more readily available and in more colors, who the hell cares about Shatter? Honestly, I've seen some people with Shatter on and instead of a cool crackle design it was more...spotty and looked like gross mildew. Black Mesh is my favorite of the CG collection. So far, I've bought that, Crushed Candy, Broken Hearted, and Cracked Concrete (Lightning Bolt and Fault Line are still unobtainable at this point :() TIPS: You have to apply it medium-thick. Too thick and it gets all gross stripes, too thin and it barely cracks. Practice makes perfect. A lot of people claim this gets goopy, but I haven't had that problem and I've had Cracked Concrete since February and I used it like, 10 times.

Tools -Unlisted Brand - Ruby Stone Crystal Nail File
rated 3 of 5
zombiekitten87 4/19/2011 11:41:00 PM

I got this to keep in my purse because my A.S.P. file was too big/fragile. Its cool because it has a little plastic cover, but its kind of not a great cover. Its a little too thick to be practical for short nails like mine. I also would have liked a rougher grit on one side, since the whole thing is fine grit. It was cheap, but not awesome.

Polishes -OPI - Designer Series - DS Mystery
rated 4 of 5
zombiekitten87 4/18/2011 1:02:00 PM

This polish is an enormous 'Meh' for me. I really haven't had an awesome experience with OPI DS so far... This polish looks black with gold sparkle in the bottle, but paints on more of a brownish plum. Its surprisingly sheer at first, so it takes a few coats. Its ok.... eh...Idunno. I'm bored with it after one wear.

Polishes -OPI - Designer Series - DS Glamour [DISCONTINUED]

Well, back when I was naive about nail polish (and boy, did I miss out on a lot of amazing nail polishes) I found this polish and was amazed. I had nearly the entire collection of Sally Hansen's Nail Prisms and I didn't know anyone else had ever made a holographic polish (Chanel, Gosh, China Glaze, Nubar... ugh... I missed out T_T) so I was thrilled to death to pick this one up and pay near $12 friggen dollars for it. Its a navy blue holo polish and, while it looks cool, its JUST a navy blue holo polish. Trust me, if I could figure out how to get a hold of the micro glitter alone, I'd dump it in every polish I could get my hands on, but for $12, this should have been a little more spectacular, like SH Magicals minus the ungodly chipping. The silver is wearing off the cap, and the black is showing through underneath and it looks disgusting, like mold. I know that has really nothing to do with the polish, but it looks gross anyway.

Polishes -China Glaze - Secret Peri-Wink-le
rated 4 of 5
zombiekitten87 4/18/2011 12:48:00 PM

I picked up this polish in Sally's and for some reason, I couldn't put it down. Periwinkle is really not my favorite color, but I had to have this one. The very top of the bottle is showing signs of separating already, which bothers me, but I think I'm only keeping this one around to either use with a stamp or to mix with something else. On a different note, if you add 2 coats of a white shimmer like Rimmel's Star Studded, it looks like Cinderella's dress lol. My 3 year old niece appreciated that.

Polishes -China Glaze - fairy dust

This polish is very pretty in the bottle, looking like very densely packed holographic glitter, but it comes out a lot more sparse than that. I have a bottle of CG City Lights that has gone thick and needs to be thinned out, but in comparison, the CG had better payoff. Of course, glitter polish is the world's biggest PITA to remove, and this is no exception.

Tools -Unlisted Brand - Glass - aka crystal - nail file
rated 4 of 5
zombiekitten87 4/13/2011 2:16:00 PM

I got an A.S.P. brand crystal file. Its pink in the middle, fading out to white on the edges. The shape is odd... Its a flat rectangle with edges that are wider than the middle, almost like a stretched out hourglass. I grabbed this one because it was three dollars cheaper than the more traditionally-shaped file. Its larger size makes it easier to handle and if you hold it correctly, its easy to use. If I ever break it, I'll definitely buy another. *EDIT* OK, try another brand than A.S.P. if you're in the market for a crystal file. I'm recanting my praise of this brand. There's a lot I do like about it, however, I was just filing my nail and a chunk of the grit FELL OFF... I thought it was ground glass, but its actually just a thin coating! It wore down like any cardboard file, rendering the entire edge of it useless.

Polishes -China Glaze - Frostbite
rated 4 of 5
zombiekitten87 4/11/2011 7:38:00 PM

The name is a little misleading. While its definitely a frosted blue, its also a rich royal blue... When I think of frostbite, it think of ice blue, silver, or white. The color does separate over time, with a whiteish cloud towards the bottom that's really hard to remix, which is why I gave it an overall score of 4. Frostbite has a nice payoff, and a nice shine. I like it better than OPI Blue My Mind.

This color is a nice, gunmetal metallic grey. A little sheer, so it needs several coats, but its really nice when finished.

Polishes -China Glaze - Purple Panic
rated 4 of 5
zombiekitten87 4/11/2011 7:18:00 PM

beautiful bright magenta. I wouldn't call it purple at all, but there is something magically 80s about this color. Covers well in two coats, but its dull without a topcoat because of its neon quality. Interestingly, I bought this twice because the color separated really badly and turned into a whiteish dull pink over time.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Sula - Paint & Peel
rated 3 of 5
zombiekitten87 4/6/2011 12:29:00 AM

well i saw this in Big Lots for $2.50 and I immediately thought of the clear little mermaid peel off polish I had when I was two and I just had to get it. Its streaky, splotchy, lumpy, and dries a completely different color, smells like finger paint, and apparently costs almost $10, but its fun as heck to peel off. I have this in Tango, the blood red color. Its a nice shade of red, but there's no way in hell I would ever spend $10 on this.

Teal, gold, silver, and pink glitter in clear polish. Payoff is weak but it is with pretty much ever glitter polish. Takes forever to remove, also expected. Nothing too exciting, honestly
