Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder
wonderblue 2/18/2011 6:10:00 PM
It's not bad, but it's not brilliant either. It leaves a matte finish and is pretty much translucent, but it isn't milled that finely in my opinion. I used to love this when I was younger and use it all the time, but I've since discovered better products.

Nails -Unlisted Brand - Quickies nail varnish remover pads
wonderblue 2/18/2011 5:53:00 PM
Great for removing nail varnish especially if you're lazy like me and buying a bottle of NV remover and cotton wool sounds like a hastle. The only problem lies in glittery nail polish. The glitter (by glitter I don't mean sparkle I mean actual chunks of glitter) ends up tearing the pad slightly and some of the fibres end up sticking to your nails.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Aloe Vera Gel 100% pure gel
wonderblue 2/18/2011 5:34:00 PM
This is for Holland and Barret 99.9% Aloe Vera Gel. I use this when my skin is feeling inflamed and aggrevated because it is so soothing and also when my regular moisturiser isn't to hand. I use this on my face and on my body, it's great for calming down rashes, itchy skin and acne. It is possible to wear under makeup but you have to wait a while for it to full absord into the skin. It's not greasy, it's just feels a little tacky and your skin can feel a slightly tight. It's not drying so is good for dry skin, and it doesn't make you look oily either. It's such a good price as well, I love it!

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
wonderblue 2/18/2011 2:46:00 AM
Keeps my lips soft, smooth and moisturised. It smells of peppermint and it makes your lips tingle slightly. Due to that I don't think I would purchase this particular lip balm from them again, but would definately try out others in the range.

Concealers -Revlon - ColorStay Under Eye Concealer
wonderblue 2/14/2011 10:07:00 PM
I've just realised from looking at the picture of the packaging on here that this is the concealer I was using for ages until I discovered L'oreal touche magique. (TM was my HG concealer until I discovered L'oreal tested on animals so now I'm in the concealer market again). This isn't the best concealer for covering blemishes, there are better ones on the market. You're still left with the redness and basically it just doesn't cover them. I don't know how this would work under eyes as I never used it there myself. I also found the colour selection to be quite poor. This is nowhere near as good as the Colourstay foundation.

Lip Gloss -Barry M - Lip Gloss Wands
wonderblue 2/14/2011 3:09:00 PM
I have these in Toffee and Strawberry Milkshake and they are pretty good. I love the smell of the Toffee one, but not the Strawberry Milkshake, the smell doesn't last long though. Both are very pretty colours, Toffee is a lovely neutral tone and Strawberry Milkshake is a medium pink, they aren't drying and I would repurchase.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Authentic African Black Soap-Product of West Africa
wonderblue 2/14/2011 2:50:00 PM
This lathers up really well, when I wash it off it feels as though there is some residue on my face (there isn't I've wiped it with cotton wool - it just feels that way) but when my face has dried my skin feels soft and isn't stripped!! Is this a miracle acne cure? Well honestly I haven't found it to be, but it leaves my skin clean, smooth and soft so I still like it. I cut my bar into small chunks to use and it lasts for ages - seriously one bar is going to last me for many many months. Will definately repurchase, it's a excellant and simple cleanser :)

Mascara -Givenchy - Phenomen'eyes Mascara
wonderblue 2/14/2011 1:57:00 PM
This is very volumising on my lashes and they don't end up clumped together, but they do look somewhat spidery so I have to be very careful when applying this. However I don't find this thickens my lashes at all. It doesn't dry out on my lashes, they are still moveable. It's one of the better mascaras I've tried but whether or not I would repurchase is 50/50. I like the wand as it makes it easier to get into the corners, but obviously different people like different styles of wand, and it will depend on your eyeshape as well. To give some comparison, I like it better than Lancome Hypnose.

Lipstick -Barry M - 101 Marshmallow
wonderblue 1/26/2011 10:53:00 AM
I love Barry M in general but this is a terrible colour. It is far too pale - and I say this as someone who is ghostly white. It has no pink tone it's just like a concealer stick. Love the other Barry M lipsticks but stay away from this one. Your lips should not be about 5 shades lighter than your face.

Concealers -L'Oreal - Touche Magique
wonderblue 1/23/2011 3:57:00 AM
I loved this, it was my HG concealer for so long!!! I applied it with a concealer brush and it concealed my red acne scars really well. It can crease a little under the eyes but I didn't buy it as an undereye concealer, I bought it for blemishes. Recently though I found out L'Oreal test on animals, this wasn't something I'd ever considered before when buying cosmetics (which sounds silly I know, you'd have thought it would cross my mind at some point) and now I'm really unsure about repurchasing this. It's making me totally revaluate what I buy. Guess that's a subject that everyone has different views on though.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Oilatum Natural Face Repair Cream
wonderblue 1/22/2011 8:27:00 PM
<3 <3 <3 This saved my skin from the horrendously drying effects of benzoyl peroxide. I've never had dry skin like that before, my chin was flaking and felt so tight. This didn't sting unlike the moisturiser I had been using, this soothed wonderfully. I was applying a lot of this stuff because of the state of my skin and there was a slight oily shiny film - but when I say "a lot" I do mean a lot, I was just slathering this stuff on so a film was to be expected. If you just applied a normal amount I imagine this would be absolutely fine. It wasn't perfumed, it didn't feel heavy and is just my skins saviour. It didn't break me out, although even if it had I don't think I would have cared (yes that is how dry my skin was - I couldn't have cared if I broke out) my skin was just falling off. Downside is the price you pay for the amount you get - not pleased about that - that's why it's getting 4 lippies, the price and the amount, otherwise it would get 5.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Quinoderm
wonderblue 1/21/2011 7:19:00 AM
I'm rewriting my review of this because my view of this product has changed since I first wrote this. To start with DO NOT buy the 10% I still stand by that - get the 5% because when I used the 10% for the first 1 and a half weeks my face was a mess. After using this for 4 days I'd developed dry skin all around my chin - sort of like where a beard would be on a man. I was using a good moisturiser to try and counteract this but to no avail. It was blotchy and really red and even though it never went anywhere near my eyes, I woke up with these lines around them that weren't there before. I had to slather on one of my mums expensive eye creams to try and relieve the dehydration. Then to top it off I washed my hair and have dandruff around my hairline!!! I have NEVER had dandruff in my entire life and using quinoderm was the only thing I'd done differently. It felt for the first 2 (ish) weeks like my skin was burning when I applied it. Totally unpleasant and quite painful. I was sorely tempted to throw this away because it was awful. It took 3 weeks before my skin really cleared up. By the second week I could see an improvement but I was still getting new spots. I'm on week 4 now and I only have one spot (prays I'm not jinxing it) which is a lot smaller than the ones I normally get and quite frankly only one spot is a miracle for my skin - in fact my skin hasn't been this clear in months. Overall I am really suprised about the results I've had because the beginning was so unpleasant. If you are thinking of using this you are going to need a rich moisturiser that isn't going to irritate your skin - I stated using Oilatum (and still am) and that is something I would normally avoid because of the fear it was going to to make me look like an oil slick but it was what I needed to help with the dryness. Aloe Vera gel also was very helpful for me because it helped take out the redness and mattified the Oilatum. I'm giving this 3 lippies because despite it working now the awful effects in the beginning would probably deter people. Personally I wouldn't advise you to go near this if you have sensitive or dry skin.

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Perfect Cover BB Cream
wonderblue 1/18/2011 3:10:00 PM
I thought this was worth trying but I didn't have high expectations, I was expecting an over glorified tinted moisturiser and in the past I have just hated tinted moisturisers because they are way too dark for my skin and they provide terribly poor coverage. Boy was I suprised by this! I got it in shade 13 and I have never had a product come so close to my skintone ever! I love how easy it is to apply, because it has to texture of a cream it is so easy to spread. The coverage is buildable and unlike some foundations when you try to build up coverage this doesn't go cakey. I apply a generous layer all over my face and then take a little on my finger and dab it over imperfections and the coverage is suprisingly very good. I would describe it as medium coverage - but I do put quite a lot on. This lasts all day, I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up with it still in place. Now for those of us with spots I guess you will want to know if you need a concealer? If you want to totally hide them then yes you will, but if you apply it like I said above ^^ then you should be able to get away without it - depends how bad they are. As it is winter right now I don't use this everyday - I use this when I'm in a rush in the morning and haven't got time to apply foundation and concealer and at weekends when I just want something lighter that will let my skin breath. In the summer however I suspect that this will be my go to makeup. I will probably buy shade 21 and mix it with the 13 to darken it a little bit just to stop me from looking like some sort of ghost. Overall I'm pleasantly suprised by this, it's not a miracle product, but it is suprisingly good. A downside to this though is I can't find shade 13 in the larger size :( Edit: I'm currently going through an awful bout of dry skin, and this is not the product to use at all. It emphasises the dry patches and as much as I love my bb cream this is going to have to sit on the shelf for while until my dry skin has cleared up.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Anti-Acne Moisturizer
wonderblue 1/18/2011 2:48:00 PM
Well this moisturised my skin really well in the warmer months but now in the winter it is just not cutting it. This doesn't break me out and make my acne worse which is a huge plus, however whilst it doesn't cause acne it also does nothing to help treat the areas of my face that have breakouts but I have never had that expectation from moisturisers. It absorbs pretty quickly and is an good base for makeup. There is a slight tingly sensations when applying it which some people might not like, but I didn't mind it. Won't be repurchasing this in winter but if the one I've switched to now proves too heavy for summer then I would go back to using this.

Treatments (Eye) -Simple - Radiance Brightening Eye Cream
wonderblue 1/16/2011 2:58:00 PM
Well this wasn't particularly moisturising, in fact I didn't think it was doing anything for my eye area so I stopped using it. The thing is that after a couple of weeks of not using it, I started to notice these dark circles forming. So as a brightening cream I think this might work, but that is all it does.
