Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
wllow 7/31/2008 2:04:00 PM
this is a great idea to try, after all, it doesn't cost much money! unfortunately for me, it wasn't quite as effective as it has been for others. I have extremely problematic skin(lots of cystic acne/whiteheads/blackheads/etc). after a few days, the aspirin mask had cleared up some of my skin, but I still got acne, just not as extreme as before. I think for me, the aspirin mask has reached a plateau. I've tried different amounts of tablets, adding other things to it, and its effectiveness does not change. for some people, the aspirin mask just might not be it, but I still recommend trying it if you never have.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tempting (LUSTRE)
wllow 7/27/2008 9:31:00 PM
I really chose this one on a whim - and boy, am I good at choosing colors or what? on MAC's website, when I ordered Honeylust it mentioned that Tempting was also usually bought with it. it looked dark enough to use as an everyday crease shadow with Honeylust, so I thought why not? when it arrived I was a little disappointed. in the pan it looks like a greenish, golder version of Honeylust. on the lid is a completely different story. that dark brown that you see inside the gold really came out on my skin tone, and the gold just faintly complimented it and made it blend in better. I highly recommend this one!

Eye Shadow -MAC - parfait amour shadow
wllow 7/27/2008 9:22:00 PM
I love this unique shade. in the pan it looks very, very purple, but on my lids it comes off more like a color between violet and indigo. the pigment isn't as saturated as I would have liked, so I usually apply it wet. this really brightens up the color and makes for a fantastic smudgy liner. I wear a neutral eye for day, and if I'm going to a party that night I'll just line my eyes with Parfait Amour wet. it's a beautiful and unexpected color, and a welcome addition to my palette.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Honey Lust (Lustre)
wllow 7/27/2008 9:16:00 PM
despite its ugly price, I absolutely love Honeylust. it is my HD shadow color; it makes my blue eyes really pop without it seeming like I'm wearing hardly anything(and this can be difficult for me, since I'm so pale). my search for this exact shade is finally over and I'm so glad I forked over the cash. the shadow itself goes on and stays on very well without any sort of primer. I would recommend this to anyone, but especially NW15/NW20 with blue eyes.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Motif eyeshadow
wllow 7/11/2008 5:35:00 AM
Motif is a yellowy-beige shade with an iridescent pink sheen to it. reading the description online, and seeing the compact on the shelf by the MAC counter, it seemed just like what I was looking for. first of all, it's a little TOO yellow for me. don't get me wrong, yellow is my favorite color and with red hair and blue eyes, I pull it off fairly well. but being so pale and neutral, this type of yellow just doesn't seem as perfect as it could have been. also, it was not as opaque as I would have expected for its price. the clear plastic section of the container's lid popped off, which was also disappointing for the price. the eyeshadow stays put well and blends nicely with other colors/brands. because of its light, bright, and iridescent hue, I mostly use it as a funky highlighting shade, i.e. on the inner corners of my eyes. it is a fun little shadow, but nothing so remarkable and well-made that I must buy again. having the container break with no trauma to it at all was a very negative experience.

Lips -Everyday Minerals - Girl's Day Lip Gloss
wllow 7/3/2008 9:34:00 PM
this is a very cute, flattering shade that I might have to buy in the blush as well. it is a warm brick shade that is very moisturizing and goes on smoothly. EM categorizes it as a gloss, although their glosses seem more like lipsticks/tinted balms to me, but nonetheless I enjoy this product.

Lips -Everyday Minerals - Siesta (Formerly Peach)
wllow 7/3/2008 3:52:00 PM
first of all, I'm not sure why EM calls this a gloss. it comes packaged in a chapstick/balm tube, and applies/smells like a lipstick. the color itself is a very light golden peach. because it is slightly opaque I can see how this would definitely not work on a lot of skin tones, but it seems to fare well with me(I am very pale, red hair/blue eyes). it has a nice glow to it without being sparkly. the only problem with it is it will magnify any dry spots, etc. if your lips aren't perfectly smooth. so if I wanted to use this in the winter, I'd have to have a scrub on hand.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Infallible Lip Colour Duo
wllow 7/1/2008 10:47:00 PM
this is a great, long-lasting lipstick/gloss combo...just not for me! I have a habit of biting my lips and rubbing them together, and when I wore this product it would clump up, and because it was long-lasting, it was near impossible to remove the clumps! lol I tried Azalea, a bright, light pink color that didn't quite match the color of the outside of the tube. it was easy to appy evenly and the glossy stick that is applied afterward kept my lips moisturized and soft. my only problems were that it was a little too sparkly, and like said before, my weird nervous habits caused ugly clumping, which is not necessarily the product's fault!

Lipstick -Fusion Beauty - Lipfusion Plump + Replump Liquid Lipstick (Bunny)
wllow 7/1/2008 10:35:00 PM
it's too bad the reviewer before me didn't like this product. I agree that the packaging could be improved, but I have had no problem with leakage from leaving the tube on its side/upside down/etc. Bunny is a perfect pinky-nude that looks great for anytime use. it lasts on my lips considerably longer than the original LipFusion plumper, is more opaque, and plumps and moisturizes my lips just as well as the gloss. in these ways I think it is better than the original gloss. I did not experience any tacky scent or uncomfortable tingle. I did get a minty sort of sensation, though, similar to what you might feel after applying a mint lipbalm. I really like this product and the next time I feel like spending this much money on a lip product, I'll probably try out some of the other colors.

Polishes -Christian Dior - Golden Nugget
wllow 6/29/2008 6:54:00 PM
as much as I love this polish, I doubt I would have ever gotten it if not for a gift card. it's just so much money, even though in a lot of ways it is worth it. the color is perfect for Summer and I can see it easily transitioning into Fall. the polish stays on for a long time so you don't have to bother with touchups every other day.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
wllow 6/29/2008 6:51:00 PM
I am addicted to this stuff. being pale, dark circles and red blemishes really show up and it can be difficult to cover them up without ending up cakey, yellow, or any other number of horrendous makeup outcomes. the Intensive formula works great, its Fair Neutral shade blends in perfectly to my skin tone(which has never happened before), and I need very little to cover up imperfections. I highly recommend.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Insolence
wllow 6/29/2008 6:49:00 PM
Insolence is now one of my signature perfumes! I love the cute asymmetrical bottle, as well as the scent, which seems like a combination of clean, fruity, and sweet, without any overkill. I get compliments every single time I wear it.
