Treatments -Fusion Beauty - LiftFusion Micro-Injected M-Tox Transdermal Face Lift
rated 3 of 5

I bought this after trying it at Sephora, rather skeptically. I'm 37, and have one moderately deep frown line between the brows, as well as those evil marionette lines around my mouth, and little tiny lines around my eyes. When the face is clean and the stuff is patted on (just on the parts you want "frozen" "plumped" or whatever) the stuff actually works. I've read other reviews here, and maybe there is some chemistry differences so it only works for some people but not others. But here is how well it worked for me, the first time - I used it at Sephora , and then went into a restaurant about 10 minutes later to meet my husand and stepson. They asked what i was doing in Sephora and i said i tried this really goofy serum that was supposed to get rid of the 'angry' line between my brows. My stepson looked at me and then said "what line?" and my husband said "well -it worked, i can't see it anymore." After me saying "no way" enough times to annoy them, i finally went into the ladies room and looked. yup -gone. **all-the-way gone** my little laugh lines were also completely gone, and my evil marionette lines were fainter (though oddly, one side seemed to respond much better than the other-weird) sooo. i went back and bought it. and the next morning we tried a "scientific experiment" - we put it on my husband's giant frown line and some forehead lines on *half* of his face. the frown line just laughed at the serum -no change. but the forehead lines on the half with the fusion *definitely* dissapeared, you could almost watch them fading out (at which point, we obviously put it on the other half of his forehead so he wouldn't look odd) so - in sum, it works for me-at least on parts of my face, quite well. it works for my husband on parts of his face too. it doesn't work on deep frown lines (like my husband's), or alas, my mouth lines very well. it works intermittently on the lines around the mouth -and -alas it never seems to work longer than about 4 hours (that whole 'cumulative effect' is, i think, a big fat lie). in sum -its waaaaay too pricey and quite short acting. BUT -if you have a big date, or a party, or a high school reunion coming up, it might well do the trick for you. then again, given the other reviews here, it might not -so definitely try a sample first . indeed, given the teeny amounts you use each time, just on the lines, i think this bottle will last at least a year, making it less of a huge pricetag. p.s. i don't wear makeup, but i moisturize like a fiend at night. so maybe thats why it worked on my husband and me, our skin was moisture rich , and also we didn't put anything on top of it like foundation, that might smear it out of the lines? i don't know. what i do know is that lipfusion also works for me - not necessarily for bigger lips, but definitely for enough fullness to get rid of any vertical lines on my lips. maybe its a body chemistry thing? if lip fusion didn't work for you, this probably won't work either. but if it did-and you have expression lines, it might make sense to try a sample, wait 10-15 minutes, and then look and see if it worked.

Scrubs -Aveeno - Skin Brightening Daily Scrub
rated 4 of 5
wendi6716 4/7/2006 12:50:00 AM

First off - don't think of this as a scrub -it is misnamed - think of it as a daily cleanser (unles your skin is very sensitive) I use Origins microdermabrasian for "scrubbing" -my every week or every two weeks 'serious exfoliation' - but as a once a day cleanser (too harsh for twice a day, i think)- this is pretty good. Its especially effective when used wuith the new Aveeno serum - i've used both as a combo for three weeks, and holy moses, it faded some sun damage! pretty cheap for getting actual results - but then again - i started the serum and the cleanser at the same time -so maybe its jsut the serum that altered my sun damage regardless-its a nice relatively gentle but effective cleanser that leaves your skin clean and smooth but not tight - and its not too pricey

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Violet Ink Long-Wear Gel Liner
rated 5 of 5

this stuff is great- it looks frighteningly purple in the pot, but on the face its actually lovely and it lasts until you take it off! AND a little goes a long way, so even if you flinch at first when you spend that much on a tiny pot of eye liner - it lasts forever. i love the gel eyeliner so much i just bought another one in sienna ink

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum
rated 4 of 5

i got the free sample in the mail and tried it wow - after 10 days i went out and bought the big one. to put this in perspective, i have used and loved La Mer serum. i have used and NOT loved Origins white tea serum. although the jury will obviously still be out until i have used the Olay longer -so far its looking much more like La Mer results than Origins - and its cheaper than both! in fact, 10 days in and my crows feet actually *went away* - i'm only 35, so they weren't that deep to begin with - but i strongly prefer "nonexistent" to "not that deep" - don't you? only potential flaw is i did break out right after starting this, but then it cleared up-so we'll see if it was just a fluke

Primer/ Corrector -Chanel - Precision Purite Ideale T-Mat Shine Control
rated 4 of 5

T-Mat does just what it promises, it mattifies all day long without caking or streaking. Although they say you can put this on over makeup - i've never tried that. But under makeup it worked wonders (I wore it for my wedding, and it kept away the oilies for a whole long day). Pricey, and the packaging could be more user friendly (its a tube right now - i'd prefer a pump)

Lotions/ Creams -Origins - A Perfect World Body Lotion
rated 3 of 5
wendi6716 2/6/2003 1:28:00 PM

Given i'm not a fan of A Perfect World for the face, i never would have bought this. But i got it as a gift, and i'm glad. Its a very nice body lotion, lightly scented and absorbs easily. I wish it came in a pump rather than a squeeze bottle, but oh well. . .its not the holy grail of body lotions, but its nice.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. It smells nice, and it makes your skin soft - but thats it. Seriously, buy Origins Grin from Year to Year serum and you'll actually see your skin improve in the long run. This stuff? The softening effects seem only temporary, and it did nothing for my skin tone. I'm going back to Grin from Year to Year - they don't push it as hard at the Origins counter as they push A Perfect World, but my guess is thats because they don't have to :)

Treatments -Origins - Grin from Year to Year

Let me say at the outset that nothing is better than La Mer face serum for sun damaged skin. So if you can afford it -get La Mer. That said, this comes pretty darn close to La Mer's effects for like 1/8 the price. This is subtitled "brightening tightening serum" and yup - thats what it does. After a month of using this twice a day - my skin was definitely smoother and more evenly toned. Oh, and no breakouts. Comes in a pump bottle that is prefect for delivering just the right amount. GREAT stuff all around - especially at this price.

Treatments (Eye) -Origins - Eye Doctor
rated 3 of 5

Nothing spectacular, but it'll do as an eye cream. I expectedmore from Origins, given their other products. . . this is pretty mediocre.

Moisturizers -Origins - Matte Scientist [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5

Yuck! Mattified a little, but gummed up alot. And it does NOT dry clear - you can see little whitish green streaks if you aren't really careful. NOT a winner. (and i love origins products)

Cleansers -Origins - Checks and Balances
rated 5 of 5

My new holy grail of cleansers. As i moved into my 30s my beloved mint wash became too harsh. But i missed the bubbly refeshment until they came out wiht Check and Balances. A little foams a TON and cleans everyhitng but does not dry out your face. love love love this. 6 lipsticks!

Gels/Soaps -Woods of Windsor - Wild rose soap

Great smell and soft lather. All around wonderful feminine soap - though a bit pricey (priced the same as caswell massey and crabtree and evelyn). if yu love the smell - woods of windsor also has bath gel, lotion, and even drawer liners.

Nice applicator, nice product at a good price. I bought it in rum radiance -and its a gorgeous brick red/brown color. deep but still natural looking. i love the applicator. and its cheap! lost a star because i hate the smell - kind of a combo of creamsicle and nail polish remover, luckily it fades.

this is an uber-feminine scent, with honey, violets and rose. starts off very sweet and powdery, but then warms to a lovely elegant and unique floral. very nice. but sample first, with the combinationof honey, roses, and violets - it can be a bit sweet for some tastes
