Sunscreen -Shiseido - Extra Smooth Sun Protection Cream SPF 36 [DISCONTINUED]

I dislike coneful products, but this one doesn't bother me. It seems to actually help in making my pores look smaller during the day. It does the job, and I make sure to use a cleansing oil followed by a cream cleanser when I use this product since getting it off seems to be a big issue. The size is plane travel friendly which I appreciate. The one thing I really dislike about this product is the smell. It seems subtle and it's not a bad smell per say, but it really bothers me if I use it daily.

Moisturizers -Yes To Carrots - Day Cream

This definitely looks like and smells like baby lotion which I used to use during my prepubescent years. The consistency is real thick and it's cone free. I actually bought this when I was at work upon seeing the flakey mess my skin was in, hoping that it will do the trick. I don't find it moisturizing enough, and I tried using it at night to find out I had more blackheads than I went to bed with. I sometimes use this to slather on flakey spots on my chin but it's doesn't do a great job. Maybe I'll try using it on my legs!

Cleansers -Rachel Perry - Citrus-Aloe Cleanser

I guess I'm the lone hater here. This product did not remove all my makeup and it dried my skin pretty bad. I tried using a toner and a acidic cream cleanser to help balance the pH afterwards but definitely did not help the dryness. I might try using it again during the summer to see if it's better but I doubt it. Also, I am not a fan of the overly citrus smell. Smells like something you would clean furniture with.

Cleansers -Korres - Orange Blossom cleansing emulsion

This is an awesome product that I got from a swap (best swap ever!). I have irritated skin that breaks out easily and this does the job without breaking me out. Also, the first night after I used this product, I noticed that my pores were smaller and my skin looked so damn good. It doesn't do that anymore but good product overall. I noticed that I need a toner or something to balance the pH after using this product or else my skin feels pretty dry. Since I don't use a toner, I usually follow it up with a slightly acidic cream cleanser, and that seems to work well.

Moisturizers -Korres - Wild Rose 24-Hour Cream

I've tried this and liked it the first night despite tiny red bumps I got next to my mouth. It seemed like it was moisturizing well. Then the next two nights I tried it, I've noticed more bumps the next day and slight irritation. Plus my pores kind of looked large and my skin looked tired. This is what I get for being in denial of the fact that my skin and olive oil does not mix well. Oh well. I have a delux sample that's almost new and no one to give it to. bummers.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes

This product does not do anything for me. Doesn't seem to really moisturize or depuff or get rid of dark circles. It feels nice going on but if I use it for a couple of days in a row, I always get milia on my upper eyelid, which is the clearest place on my face.

I lose lots and lots of hair when I use this shampoo. Also, the smell is no good and my scalp gets itchy. Not a big fan of the scent either.

This is a cone free moisturizer with some natural ingredients. Not so organic all over like the name. I've been using this for about six months and my skin has been doing fine (not much of breaking out!). It moisturizes but does not make my skin overly greasy. It seems to somehow manage to balance the sebum of the skin. Following the directions on the tub (which isn't my favorite), I put some on the palm of my hand and warm it up a bit, then pat it on my face to prevent putting too much of it. I'm off to try something new now since I don't find it moisturizing enough for the winter especially with the use of retinoids twice a week, but I recommend for normal to combination skins. p.s. Forgot to add that I would take this over its pricier cousin juice beauty cream. Why? Because this one is jojoba free. It's really hard to find a good naturalish moisturizer without jojoba, which makes me break out in large quantities.

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Perfect Cover BB Cream
ujinyoon 11/21/2008 1:58:00 AM
Definitely favorite BB cream. All the others I've tried were way too pale, and made me look slightly awkward. This one comes in two colors and the darker one is perfect for me. Also, love that it has spf in it so that I won't have to put another layer stuff on my face. coverage is light to moderate. definitely need a concealer for acne marks but I don't bother most of the time.

Moisturizers -Ponds - Dry Skin Cream

My go-to product when nothing else seems to be working in the winter. I have pretty oily skin that always feel tight, and I use taz a few times a week so I need something moisturizing without being pore clogging or irritating. The trick for me is to rub a little bit on the palm of my hands and then pat it on my face. Also, this stuff is cone free. The only reason I don't use it as often as I want to is because of the smell. I loathe the way this smells. Oddly, my dog doesn't seem to mind because she can't stop licking me when I put this on.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Terressentials Pure Earth Hair Wash Organic Shampoo

Eh. I've been searching for detergent free shampoo/hair wash for a while but this isn't "the one." I got a fragrance free one from MUA swap and there are three other kinds that I haven't used. It's kind of cool since it's not really a lathering shampoo, but more like a hair mud mask. You work the clay into wet hair, wait a while and rinse it off. I find that I usually have to do it more than once. My hair, though felt nice, still smelt/felt like hair grease pretty quickly. Detox, shmetox. I never used any cones products or even cheap conditioner in my hair, but my hair still got pretty limp. My scalp never really felt clean and it was itchy and flakey all the time. The mud didn't really rinse off well either because I kind of smelt it after rinsing on several occasions and this in turn made my then long hair very static-ky. I also suspect that this clogged my drain for good. One absolute pro about this was that hair shedding decreased to about nil and I had a full headed hair in about two weeks. So far, I have not been able to acheive this with other natural hair solutions such as baking soda/ACV, shampoo bars and "natural" shampoos. But considering that the shipping fees pretty steep and there are other ways to make this at home (if I really wanted to that is), I won't be purchasing again.

There isn't any purging period with this thing, is there? Because, after three days of use, my chin/mouth area are full of little whiteheads and I look like I have a disease! Just like many other cone-ful products, broke me out big time.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Oil Cleansing Method OCM
ujinyoon 9/11/2008 12:08:00 AM
I'm one of those unlucky cases that ended up with lots of cystic acne after trying the OCM. My face just doesn't like most natural oils. I've tried some combo/ lone application of extra virgin olive, virgin olive, castor, jojoba and even shea butter. I definitely wiped the oils with a warm towel. When I did this, I was actually on antibiotics and taz for a month and was clearing up nicely and trying out new things my skin might like only to get more breakouts! fun! OCM is the reason I went on accutane, which actually turned out to be a good thing.

I love this product. It's not the kind of product that will take my make up off that's for sure, but I use a cleansing oil at night anyway so that's not a problem. I use this alone in the morning and honestly it has helped me keep my pores tiny and black head free.

Moisturizers -Ole Henriksen - Herbal Day Cream SPF 15
ujinyoon 6/30/2008 8:33:00 PM
Finally found a natural-esque product that won't break me out. (I think the key here is that it's jojoba free, so for those who don't react well to jojoba oil, I recommend) It is a bit heavy but I have oily skin and it's the summer months and so far the stuff hasn't really caused me to break out or anything. Also, I have noticed a changed in my giant pores decreasing and keeps black heads at bay. Hurrah. My only complain about this product is what's with the coloring in it? what use is that besides looking a bit orangey in a jar? EDIT: Got me some milia looking things. Also, looks like I'm way too greased up during the day. I'm gonna save this for the winter months, and till then I'm bumping it down to a three for now. :(
