Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Face Lotion with SPF 15
thefineprint3 2/16/2009 5:16:00 PM
This product slightly strings upon application when I use a cleansing product that contains alcohol but other than that I love it. It's a very lightweight simple daily moisturizer with SPF 15. Keeps my dry face moisturized and soft throughout the day. As to the reviewer below me - I have dark skin and have never noticed a white cast being left behind....perhaps it's the mixture of products you are using?

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Facial Lotion
thefineprint3 2/16/2009 5:11:00 PM
This lotion has been like a godsend. I have used it's sister product too with the SPF 15 and I love both. I've noticed that it stings after I use it after cleansing products that contain alcohol but natural products like Alba and Aubrey Organics don't offer that problem. It's light but hydrates my dry skin all day long. I will continue to repurchase unless I find a better simple daily moisturizer.

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Very Emollient body lotion Unscented

I love this lotion. It's creamy and make my skin extremely soft. To get rid of the odd smell I simply add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil and my lotion smells great.

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - very emollient body lotion - daily shade formula
thefineprint3 2/16/2009 8:19:00 AM
Super moisturizing and isn't greasy at all. I mix in 1 drop of jojoba oil with each palm full of lotion to seal in the moisture. This thick and creamy lotion goes on smooth and keeps my skin soft all day. I love the natural ingredients too! Definitely an HG body lotion.

Smells great and keeps my lips moisturized. Won't provide any color tint but is a wonderful lip balm.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Sculpt [DISCONTINUED]
thefineprint3 2/12/2009 7:10:00 PM
Soooo creamy! Didn't provoke any breakouts (unlike the creamy Bobbi Brown concealer that had me covered in little red zits within 3 hours). Glides on so smooth and the color match is perfect for my skin tone. Can pack on for medium or full coverage. I set with a powder which maximizes lasting time. Apply to well moisturized skin to avoid dry patches. I love it!

Moisturizers -Olay - Age Defying Intensive Nourishing Night Cream
thefineprint3 2/12/2009 7:07:00 PM
Excellent night cream! It's not overly greasy or thick some other night creams that I've tried. It keeps your face moisturized all night and leaves skin feeling soft. Didn't provoke any pimples...in face my redness seemed to have faded the next morning. I would highly recommend this product.

Powder -Make Up For Ever - Duo Mat Powder foundation
thefineprint3 2/10/2009 6:13:00 PM
Great coverage when used alone over a primer and well moisturized face. Unfortunately I won't buy again because even if you only use a little everyday, it doesn't seem to last very long. For the price there should be more product.

Crème -MAC - Studio Tech
thefineprint3 2/10/2009 6:10:00 PM
I would give this a 3.5 if I could... Pro's: -beautiful flawless coverage if applied correctly to properly moisturized skin -great coverage -long lasting if used w/ a primer and set well w/ powder -convenient packaging -looks good in pictures Con's: - oxidized to orange on my caramel-toned skin after a few hours - too thick and heavy to be a daily foundation (i only use for special occasions) - inevitably broke me out but then again...all MAC foundations do so take that with a grain of salt Overall: excellent foundation for me to wear for special occasions or when I want to look extra special

Concealers -Revlon - ColorStay Under Eye Concealer
thefineprint3 2/8/2009 12:16:00 PM
This concealer blends well in my under-eye area and really brightens the area up. The consistency is great and the applicator is convenient. Set this with a powder and it should last all day. My only qualm is how it dries kind of matte instead of looking moisturized...but maybe that is just my skin's reaction to it. I will repurchase unless I find something better that is just as affordable.

Concealers -Revlon - ColorStay Under Eye Concealer
thefineprint3 2/8/2009 12:13:00 PM
This product was just ok for me. I prefer a creamy consistency for concealer and not so watered down. Dark was too dark for my skin and medium-deep gave each spot an ashy color even after I applied tinted moisturizer over it. I blended and blended but to no avail and eventually had to reapply because the coverage was gone. In all, this is an ok drugstore concealer for me but I'm better off sticking with my bobbi brown. I'm happy that others have enjoyed this product though. ETA: Despite my trouble with the blemish concealer, I've had much more success with the under-eye concealer

Liquid -Vincent Longo - Liquid Canvas Healthy Fluid Foundation
thefineprint3 2/7/2009 4:32:00 PM
(Disclaimer- I'm not sure how this would work or oily skin) I got this bad boy on sale at Sephora for $12 (originally priced $50). The sales assistant mentioned that this line may be going to Target or somewhere more affordable. I'm assuming that means the formula will be changed to make it cheaper. Anyhow, it offers nice sheer and soft coverage. I can't speak for it alone because I mix it with my moisturizer to create a tinted moisturizer. I love this product but probably won't repurchase due to the high price. If it becomes cheaper then I may check it out. I do recommend it if you have the $$ though. Didn't break me out and really offered hydration to my dry winter skin.

Blush -MAC - Sweet as Cocoa

Definite must have for women of color. Offers a great brown/plum look without over the top shimmer. Reminds me of Love Joy with less shimmer.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Concealer
thefineprint3 2/5/2009 8:34:00 PM
My goal for this concealer was to apply to blemishes and dark spots. The color match was right on, and much less noticeable than all MAC concealers I've tried. Must apply to very moisturized skin - probably isn't a great product for very very dry skinned folks. Dries flakey and accencuates patches if applied to dark skin. Looks amazing if you top it off with sheer finish loose powder. Nice and creamy texture that leaves a matte, but not caked on look.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - dr bronners assorted scented castille soaps
thefineprint3 2/1/2009 5:51:00 PM
Let me start off by saying my hair is locked, so I am always looking for hair products that don't leave a lot of residue behind. Dr. Bronner's is pretty much revered in the dreadlock world for it's awesome cleansing power but without leaving your hair feeling stripped. I love the lavender and peppermint scents. I use them to shampoo my hair, wash dishes, wash tables, etc. It's multipurpose and completely wonderful. Even if I don't follow up with a moisturizing conditioner, my hair always dries soft and fluffy. The trick for me is to DILUTE it, because it's true form is very very potent.
