Blush -NARS - Zen
tararae 12/30/2008 8:38:00 PM
NARS Zen is a great nude blush. In the pan it looks like it would be kind of muddy, but it's absolutely not. I'm PPP and this blush gives me a hint of color that brightens my face right up. My Sephora didn't have this shade so I never would have heard of it without the help of MUA.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
tararae 12/30/2008 8:34:00 PM
This is my absolute HG lip balm. I buy it over and over again! DH just bought me a 4 pack for Christmas because I told him I was low. I keep one in my nightstand and in my purse at all times. It's very moisturizing and healing. My lips stay hydrated and smooth because of the frequent use of this product.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Secret Concealer
tararae 12/30/2008 7:59:00 PM
This product gets a lot of love on the makeup board so I decided to give it a try. I originally bough the undercover pot but only ended up using the secret concealer side so when it was time to repurchase I just bought it. I use shade #2 and it's a great match. It's not too thick, nor too thin. It's gives me just enough under eye coverage so I don't feel like I look dead after lack of sleep. Setting with brightening powder is a good thing too. I advocate for everyone to use an eye cream before any concealer to help it look better. I'm still looking for HG eye cream, but I've found my HG concealer. I rarely repurchase EXACT items, but this concealer works that well for me.

Lips -Bobbi Brown - tinted lip balm in pink popsicle
tararae 12/30/2008 7:55:00 PM
Pink popsicle is a great color. I like the lip balm formula because I can throw it on without a mirror to freshen up my midday look. I liked it better in the summer because in the winter I need Burt's Bees or something more moisturizing, but I would buy again. I'd like to try some other colors as well.

Lip Gloss -Stila - Lip Glaze Stick in Brown Sugar
tararae 12/30/2008 7:51:00 PM
I feel generally the same as the poster talora. I LOVE the color of brown sugar glaze, it suits me well. However, I can't deal with the chunks of glitter in the lip glaze stick. Every time I try it again I'm reminded why I don't reach for it. The tip breaks off easily so I've lost a lot of stick to sharpening. I wish I could find this color in another brand because I don't enjoy the stickiness of Stila's lip glazes either.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - longwear gel liner in black mauve
tararae 12/30/2008 7:50:00 PM
I'm a fan of BB's gel liners compared to MACs. I have violet, Bronze shimmer, and this one. I don't often wear black liner because I have dark brows and lashes and it can be "too much." Black Mauve is not harsh on me though. It is a deep plumish color that looks great with every shadow I've paired it with-including BBs stonewashed nudes palette. It has great staying power, in fact my eye makeup remover usually leaves a bit of this behind. Overall, great product and great color.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - High Impact Eyeshadow Quad - Spicy
tararae 12/30/2008 7:46:00 PM
I'm surprised by some other's comments on this quad because I got ZERO color payoff. The colors were very chalky, didn't blend, and hardly showed up. I rarely return makeup, but this got returned to Dillards. I'm a sucker for GWP.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Noir
tararae 12/30/2008 7:38:00 PM
I generally dislike vanilla scents, but this one is great! It's perfumey with a hint of vanilla. I enjoy layering the scents with shower gel, lotion, and EDT. I'm not sure if this is LE or not, but I like it much more than Warm Vanilla Sugar so I hope Noir stays around.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
tararae 12/30/2008 7:36:00 PM
I absolutely adore this mascara. I read about the hype on the boards here for over a year before taking the plunge on the quite expensive mascara. I have long, dark lashes to begin with, but feel like a good mascara helps me look put together. This mascara has replaced my Dior Show because it's not as clumpy. I will definitely repurchase.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Luminous Moisturizing Foundation
tararae 12/30/2008 7:33:00 PM
I have been using this foundation in Warm Beige for about a week and my dry winter skin LOVES it. I feel like my skin looks better without makeup on because it's getting so hydrated from this foundation. It leaves my skin with a dewy look before I add finishing powder. This foundation will be too much for my skin in the summer, but it's HG for these cold, dry winter months.

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Beach Honey
tararae 8/1/2008 9:55:00 PM
I really like Bobbi's cream shadows. They make a great base for buildable color or work alone for a quick all over color. I don't have any creasing with my Beach Honey so I wear it almost daily. It adds a hint of shimmer to whatever shadow I put on top.

Powder -Prescriptives - All Skins Mineral Foundation spf 15
tararae 7/31/2008 6:59:00 PM
I really wanted to love this mineral makeup. It looked pretty good after the SA applied it on me, but when I stepped out in the heat my pores looked huge. When I applied it at home this makeup brought highlighted EVERY imperfection on my face. I don't have horrible skin but it looked like I did. I tried for 3 weeks to make this work, but returned it today. I'm going to try Anywear now.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Power
tararae 4/2/2008 8:39:00 PM
I did not care for this mascara at all. I was looking for a mascara that would come off better/differently than my other Clinique mascaras. The SA (who I know) warned me that people either like it or hate it. I was the on the hate end of the spectrum. I have fairly long lashes to begin with, but this product didn't extend or curl them. I REALLY had to coat, coat, coat to get any impact. I had issues with it coming off with the warm water at night. The chunks got in my eyes and on my contacts. When I took my contacts out first it still got in them. I actually returned this mascara. I like the mascara with the comb on one end much better.

Moisturizers -Bliss Labs - The youth as we know it
tararae 4/14/2007 10:05:00 AM
I am in love with this moisturizer!!!!! My skin has been awful lately with dry patches, bumps, and no radiance. I was very hesitant to buy The Youth as We Know it because of the price tag-$80. I was so in need of help that I caved and bought it......I'm so glad I did. It has cleared up my skin and my face looks great. I got a compliment yesterday on how nice my skin looked. I will repurchase even though it's such a pricey product. It's worth it. : )

Foundations -Philosophy - the supernatural airbrush canvas
tararae 4/1/2007 10:14:00 PM
I am so disappointed in this Philosophy product. $35 was pretty pricey, but I thought I'd try it since it's from Philosophy. What a bummer. No coverage and the foam spongey thing sucks. I often took it off to apply with a brush. Did not conceal any undereye circles or redness on my cheeks. I really tried to like it, but it was no use. : (
