Moisturizers -MyChelle - Supreme Polypeptide Cream

I have to say......I am 34 yrs. old and have tried it all. La Mer, Clinique, Chanel, Lancome, Philosophy, Jurlique, Origins, Phytobiodermie, Kate Somerville, Decleor, Dr. Haushka, Peter Thomas Roth, Pevonia, Neutragena, etc........ NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, has worked nearly as well as Mychelle. I have not had a cyctic pimple in almost 3 months (and yes, that means three cycles--I am always guaranteed at least one doozie around that time of the month) and nothing! My skin is balanced, clear, even toned, hydrated and the best part is that the products are so good for my skin--I'm pumping peptides, Vitamin C, and other fantastic antioxidants into my skin....and the results have been amazing. I can't necessarily pinpoint one MUST HAVE product--I think it's all working so well in tandem--I use both the Cranberry Cleanser and Fruit Cleanser, the Vitamin C serum, Pumpkin Exfoliant, Enzyme Exfoliant, Pumkin Renew Cream and now the Super Polypeptide Cream--for added moisture and anti-aging benefits. Oh--and the Clear skin serum is great--if my skin acts up the least but, put a dab on, and end of story. My brother has acne rosacea on his nose and I just bought him the Capillary serum, so we'll see how that works..... **Update**--my skin is not loving this anymore--dry patches, blackheads, breakout. Discontinuing. Can't say enough about this miracle line.

Treatments -MyChelle - The Perfect C Serum

I don't want to jinx myself, so I've been holding off on reviewing these products...but so far, I am thrilled with this entire line. I feel great about this company and the natural ingredients used in these products and more important, the ingredients NOT in the products. My skin looks fantastic! Its clear, soft, non-reactive, well hydrated but not oily or greasy, well balanced and healthy looking. It really has a glow too it! I have suffered with cystic acne on and off all through my life since my early 20's--and before I started using this line my skin was really dehydrated and dull with quite a few red marks/scars. I had been using Pevonia which I've heard great things about, but it was awful for my skin and I just decided to go back to basics and stop wasting money on products that were doing nothing for my skin. I went to Whole Foods--never hearing of this line before and reluctantly asked a salesperson for a recommendation. I figured they'd recommend Dr. H, which I don't have any use for and was pleasantly surprised when she said that she didn't really care for that line either. She said that MyChelle was her favorite line and was really helpful in pushing me in the right direction. The sample packs were great, too!! Great idea and I think I've gone back and purchased almost everything I've tried, thus far. I have been using the Cranberry cleanser, the Fruit cleanser (alternating), the Fruit Mist (not sure what this really does, but it's supposed to be an impt. step in hydrating and balancing ph), Pumpkin Peel (every other day for exfoliation), Perfect C Serum--amazing stuff, Pumpkin Renewal Cream, and the Fabulous Eye Cream. So far, so good--I am hooked!!!

Powder -Chanel - Double Perfection Compact Teint Poudre Mat Eclat [DISCONTINUED]
sydneysue 6/5/2007 11:06:00 PM
Granted I just purchased this product, but I am very impressed thus far! Coverage is perfect, color seems to match (although we'll see as the summer progresses), skin feels soft and comfortable, product stays on throughout the day, contains SPF, and the reviews are dead on--it sinks in and blends beautifully after about 20 minutes of wear! Expensive, but so far I think it's worth it!

Treatments -Kate Somerville - Quench

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me at all. My skin really didn't feel hydrated deep down and it broke me out horribly. Seems to be a favorite among many, so maybe it just didn't react well with my skin.

Masks -Natura Bisse - Glicoline glico peeling plus 50%

BE CAREFUL--this product was awful for my skin. I admit, maybe I overused it...but it was b/c I wasn't seeing any results. It did nothing in terms of improving my skin. What it did do was completely dry out my skin. It has taken almost 3 mos. to feel like my skin is hydrated again rather than permanently parched. I am using all natural products now and my skin has never looked better--and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg! When all else fails, go back to the basics and I can't tell you enough how sold I am on all natural organic product--they have done wonders for my skin. I get them from Violet Skin Boutique in Boston. Why did I pay $150 to burn my skin off with some crazy chemicals?!?!

Lotions/ Creams -Kate Somerville - Goats Milk Cream
sydneysue 4/4/2007 12:32:00 AM
So far, I am really impressed. Have tried a bunch of the KS samples and this by far is my favorite. Pros-NO scent, nice texture, sinks right in, isn't greasy/filmy, leaves my skin incredibly SOFT and HYDRATED. My skin tone looks more even but I'm not sure if that's the cream or something else I've been using. When my skin is dehydrated my forehead can start to look crepe-ey......since I've been using the cream it looks smooth and hydrated--can't say enought about this! Will be purchasing once sample is gone.

Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - Teint Eclat De Soie- Radiance Smoothing Foundation
sydneysue 3/8/2007 11:07:00 PM
This was diappointing. Not impressed--the brush is USELESS, the finish is oily after a few hours and the coverage is average. Much better results with brands half the price. Skin felt gross wearing this makeup.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Dream Cream
sydneysue 12/29/2006 1:45:00 AM
Every day I like this more and more. Doesn't make sense to me that it would get better but for some reason it really seems to. I've used it 6 or so times now immediately after shower/bath and it does a great job. Hard to explain though--it seems to make my skin really soft and well hydrated but doesn't leave a sheen or oily finish. And on the other hand, it doesn't leave that matte pasty residue that Neutragena norwegian leaves--the feeling that you need to wash it off for skin to feel soft. Very odd, but PERFCT. It really just sinks in and WORKS. Works amazing on feet and again doesn't leave that heavy oily residue. Feet feel baby soft immediately. None of this slathering rich heavy cream on my feet before i go to bed and waiting for the soft results in the morning. DC works instantly and the softness lasts.

Scrubs -LUSH - Buffy the Backside Slayer

Ew, Ew, Ew............YUCK! I was so disappointed in this product. The SA raved about this product and said it was one of their most popular. I told her I was looking for a product that would give me soft silky skin...and this is what she recommended. First of all, it's way too harsh (jagged, uneven grains will tear your skin, leaving it red and irritated). Also, I really disliked the layer of oil it left on my skin and it turned my tub into a slip 'n slide. Nasty. But back to the results...after getting out of the shower, my skin felt oily...like I rubbed a thin layer of Crisco on it. It didn't really sink in either. Bottom line it probably does moisturize but my skin never felt silky--just greasy. Not at all what I was looking for.

Polishes -OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark
sydneysue 11/21/2006 11:48:00 PM
Great fall/winter 2006-7 color! Personally, I like it better than Chanel's Black Satin and it doesn't cost $50--the listed price on ebay!! I like that it's not a flat black--and although some reviewers are saying it's a purple color I don't see it. I'd say closer to deep dark eggplant (with red undertones rather than blue). Great color and has a bit more character than Essie's Lady Godiva.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Cosmedix Defy
sydneysue 9/14/2006 11:18:00 PM
This is a fantastic line that I haven't heard much about. My aestetician is from France and she was raving about these products. My face is finally clear, smooth and definetley has a glow. The Defy is a cream I use at night that makes my skin soooo soft and has really helped exfoliate and expose new healthy skin. I've been using the line for about two months now and my acne has totally cleared. I am using the Purity toner, Pure Enzymes Cranberry mask and Defy lotion mixed with the Clarity lotion. A co-worker is using the same line (some different products though) and has also had positive results.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Visibly Even Foaming Cleanser
sydneysue 9/12/2006 11:36:00 PM
Nice. I would recommend it. One of the best drugstore cleansers I have used. It's effective--cleans all of the makeup off my face, leaves my skin clean and soft, no breakouts, no offensive smell, exfoliates to a degree. The top can get goopy but I think most people can deal with the minor inconvenience.

Polishes -Essie - Waltz
sydneysue 8/4/2006 5:54:00 PM
As far as neutrals goe, this one of my all time favorites. Looks fantastic on pale-medium skin tones. I know there's a lot of new pales shades, but this always looks clean and classic. Like Linen is too yellow with my skin tone and Ballet Slippers to to opaque and pink. If I want a bit more pink I usually head towards Mademoiselle or Limoscene.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
sydneysue 7/14/2006 12:14:00 AM
I was really disappointed with this one. Maybe my expectations were too high (thank you Oprah). Disliked the texture and even worse was the smell!! It lingered and got worse as time went on. It almost smelled like it was starting to spoil--citrusy smell gone rancid. Anyway....it drove me crazy and to be honest the cream did nothing for me. Very unimpressive. I am usually not sensitive or bothered by smells but this was over the top. I didn't like this at all.
