OMG - Best Product EVER!!!! Sephora has outdone itself again, though I really don't understand how they keep managing to do it...Once I walk out of that store, after dropping about 50 bucks on the latest beauty stuff and I think I'm the coolest person walking around the local mall, they just seem to come out with something new that I have to collect... and believe me...this one is DEFINITELY a collector's item!!! With 62 eyeshadows, and 30 some odd lipglosses, 6 blushes, and 2 coverup powders, this kit is honestly al you will need for every single look you want to re-create. At 40 bucks this is a STEAL too!!! I ordered mine when they restocked on Dec. 15 for like 15 minutes, I just happened to be checking the site...I ordered only one because I wanted to make sure that the quality was good, and believe me, it's better than good... One of the reviews on here said that the colors on Sephora.com just don't do the colors in the palette justice and she's totally right - the colors are absolutley beautiful and while they do have a shimmery quality to them, they aren't all glittery and too flashy...honestly - this kit could last me a life time and keep me up to date with all the latest looks! I can't wait to buy 10 more (4 for me, and 6 for all the girls in my friends and family!) For a really good deal you can also do thier free gift wrap and get the 3 free samples that come with every purchase!!! For 40 bucks this is a total steal - the gift boxes these year are SO cute! Total upgrade from the gold drawstring bags they had one or two years ago that started to fray after 2 days of holding my bare mineral pots... All in All - GO BUY IT ASAP!!! But make sure you save some for me!!!! P.S. - if you want to find out when they are coming out again, you can sign up for an email update and sephora will email you when they re-stock...however, I ordered mine as I was doing my daily check of the website, and sephora sent me an email that they had it re-stocked about 2 hours after i ordered it...i went back to see if they had more and they were totally sold out - so I would suggest just keeping sephora.com on your homepage and hittin' refresh all day long... believe me...it's SO worth it!!!!!
SELL- OUT Just to let all you makeup mavens know, Sephora sent out a mass email this morning to all those who were on the BlockBuster Palette mailing list, that for some odd reason, they are choosing to discontinue the product!!!! I say we all send complaint emails! Maybe they'll bring it back!!! Why oh why Sephora?!?!??!! Anyway - just thought you all should know in case you are waiting to buy one... ~cg
Moisturizers -Johnson & Johnson - Purpose Dual Treatment Moisture Lotion
sweetcherrie14 10/17/2006 9:29:00 AM
This product is so absolutley amazing...I've cycled through the Philosophy Hope in a Jar moisturizer and Wet and Wild moisturizer, but this stuff is the greatest...It's oil-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance free and non-comedogenic so it won't clog pores, plus it's got SPF 15 with UVA and UVB sunscreen. This stuff is heaven in a bottle...I go to school in upstate ny and wehave really nasty water and really dry and cold conditions and this is the only stuff that make my face stop peeling and make it look really fresh and really dewy and soft... i also use to have really enlarged pores, and blackheads adn they're starting to go away! I'm so excited! This product is absolutley amazing... it was 7.99 at Harmon Discount DrugStores, which is really affordable when you try the moisturizer and see how good the quality is... it's got a squeeze pump too, but it's reallly easy to control how much you want on your fingers and you can twist the top back around to make sure that it doesn't leak...all in all a fabulous product for a fraction of the price of those other moisturizers who only dry out your skin more... highly recommended - will purchase again!!!!!!!!! p.s. - they also have one that reduces redness in your face...i haven't tried this one - it's a little more expensive but since i have red blotches on my cheeks i may just try it out!!!! especially if it's as good as this one!
Cleansers -Prescriptives - All Clean Gel Cleanser-Oily Skin
sweetcherrie14 9/10/2006 9:02:00 AM
Okay - so this might sound a little weird, but I found this in the bathroom of my college (since we all share a bathroom with each other) and I tried it out and at first it was overly drying, but after i put on my hope in a jar moisturizer, i love the way it feels...the water here is so gross, it's really got oil stuff in the water - it's nasty - but this stuff takes away all the added oil and gets rid of the oil on my face! I love it...I mean I'm just trying it a couple of times for the first time, but it's really good and so far I love the scent - it smells delicious... anyway - the price is a little steep - at around 28 dollars - but i mean - if it's clearing up my skin from this horrible water - then hey - i'm willing to shell out and work extra for having nice, not oily beautiful skin... yey for perscriptives!!!
I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! I have the worst dry skin on my thighs and the back of my thighs - and it gets irratated every time I shave - i get all these gross little red bumps...okay - i'll save you the gory details... just know that this stuff is a miracle worker!!! When I went into Lush to buy it, the woman told me that in order to not use it up so much, you should rub a little bit on your thighs and then use that bit to smooth all over the rest of your body - there should be enough that came off from the bar to use for your entire body - that way you're getting what you pay for... anyway - this stuff is a complete life saver - i have totally dry skin and even though this stuff is an exfoliator - it's also a totaly awesome moisturizer. The woman also said to just rinse the stuff off in the shower, don't rub it off when you're rinsing it off in the shower, and then just pat with a towel, and don't rub and the smell will stay on and you'll get the ultimate moisturization that it promises. all in all a great buy, just use it sparingly~ took off one lippy for the price - cuz it's still really expensive! Enjoy! ~cristin
Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!! I normally don't trust Wet n Wild's stuff - sometimes I like thier colored eyeliners when I'm looking for a cheap beauty thrill in the drugstore...well, needless to say I was in that same predicament three weeks ago - looking for a nice oil free moisturizer with SPF that wouldn't dry my face out... I was AMAZED at what this moisturizer did! Cleared up my skin, didn't dry my skin out and left it really soft in the morning! and it's SO cheap! Like four dollars!!!! Way to go Wet n Wild!!!! If you're looking for a moisturizer...read the reviews here - they're a 100 percent all the way so far - you gotta try this stuff...it's so nice... i mix it with that jergens face moisturizer that gives you that subtle glow thing, and it works out perfectly!!!! I get a tan without the harsh effects of the sun and my skin still feels moisturized! Love it love it love it... go out and get it now!
So - this is actually my roomates perfume - but everytime she puts it on, I love it!!! She went home this weekend and when I was going out on Saturday night i put some on and i lOOOOOOOOOved it!!!! Great scent - very floral, but light, and just girly and pretty and fun!!! I love the pink bottle, pink is my favorite color so it's awesome for me!!! I don't know - the scent stayed on all night for me- but i wasn't really doing anything except for hanging around with friends, so maybe it wears off faster if you're going out dancing or partying or something... um- i guess perfumes are pretty expensive - but i don't know the price of this one...i gave it 5 lippies because i got to try this stuff free!!!!!! i think i might go buy some myself!!!
Masks -Borghese - Fango Active Mud for Face and Body
sweetcherrie14 1/7/2006 11:42:00 AM
I stole this stuff from my mom last night, when she went on vacation... Basically, you take a gob of this stuff on your fingers and smear it all over your face and you wait about 5 - 7 minutes (the jar says 2 to 5 - but i think leaving it on a little more lets it really get into my pores...) - and then you wash it off in warm-cool water... This stuff is awesome...I used it once yesterday morning and by the end of the night i definitely noticed a reduction in the size of the pores in my t-zone. I also have blackheads in my T-zone and it definitely helped to clean them out as well... I don't know how often you're supposed to use face masks like this but i'm gonna try and use it again tonight and hopefully clean out all my blackheads... my favorite part of this stuff? watching it harden and seeing it sink into the pores on my nose and cheeks...you definitely know it's working then... it may sting a little at first, but that just means it's working... no unpleasant smells...at least i don't think so... highly recommended for those with oily skin and blackhead t-zone...that's me!
Alright - so i've only had this for three days - but so far - i LOVE the results...i'm not thin either - but i'm not big - i have curves (and i love them) and i wanted to just tone up my thighs stomach and rear... i don't know - so far - i'm hugely impressed with this product... maybe it's just the fact that it's moisturizing my skin or something - or maybe it actually works! but i love using this stuff because i dont find it sticky - as long as you don't gob it on and you rub it in really well (the back does say rub it in until it's fully absorbed)...the smell is perfect - not to overwhelming - but just like dove - it's fresh and clean... i'm really impressed with thier campaign for real beauty...it's amazing - and totally inspiring...but anway - i'll update later - but for six bucks - this stuff is definitely worth a try - and if nothing else - it's an awesome smelling, really moisturizing lotion!
I have already reviewed this product ..but i thought i'd let you guys know that Makeupalley.com was featured in the weekly New York Times Magazine today...basically it was an article on Nars Orgasm blush and how the hype would have been changed if it didn't posess such an "ambiguous" name - personally i think the product is great...but yeah - it even quoted one of the reviewers on here - if your review said something along the lines of "it's popular" but all the popularity is based upon the name - i'm pretty sure you were quoted...anyway - yeah -it was interesting~ thought some of you might like to know...
This is definitely my holy grail TM/foundation - well...actually - it's between this and my Bare Escentuals stuff...I walked into Sephora and asked one of the staff there to recommend a tinted moisturizer and she brought me to this...it looks way dark when you first see the color - but don't get discouraged because after blending, it looks superb, really dewy and fresh without being greasy and i find that it really stays on during the day with just a few runs to the bathroom to blot my oily skin with blotting papers, which i don't mind doing anyway..apply this with a makeup brush and it looks superb..and the 20 dollar price is awesome for such a great product and it lasts forever- at least for me - i got mine in february and i still have about half the product left in july...and i use it almost every day~ a definite repurchase - the colors are amazing - i love it~
Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
sweetcherrie14 8/22/2004 11:07:00 AM
Ehh...i have mixed feelings about this product. First of all it cost me about 25 dollars to get. Then I found out that it's not just a pen-style eyeliner, but it comes in a tub. So then you have to go buy a separate eyeliner brush. And since the brush at the bobbi brown counter was about 17 dollars, i went next door to sephora and bought one for eight. So in all this product, when used for the first time is extremley expensive. It lasts a long time though...in the tub. When you actually put the stuff on, it doesn't really last that long and i still ended up with my eyeliner down around my dark under eye circles within two hours. In my opinion, this stuff is too hard to use, takes up too much time and is too expensive for the quality and the finished product that it gives. Don't waste your money.
Conditioner -John Frieda - Brilliant Brunette Light Reflecting Conditioner
sweetcherrie14 8/22/2004 11:03:00 AM
Love this stuff - paired with the shampoo - this stuff really makes your hair feel soft and full and it really moisturizes it - i have to layer this stuff on though because of my thick curly hair, but that's probaby just me...anyway it really gives you the bang for the buck and it smells amazing...i think it's an accquired smell - seeing as how some people on this board like it and some people can't stand it. If you can stand the smell, give it a try! It's good stuff!
Shampoo -John Frieda - Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo
sweetcherrie14 8/22/2004 11:01:00 AM
LOVe Love this stuff. I bought it on a whim because i have brunette hair, and after waiting for John Frieda to realize there were more than just blondes in this world that needed special shampoos, i bought it. It's about 5 or 6 dollars - not bad at all for me and i love the coconut smell. Though i didn't have high hopes for this product (i thought brilliant brunette was more of just a marketing ploy that targeted desperate brown haired girls), it proved me wrong, making my hair smell amazing, feel shiny and soft and give it back moisture that was lost when i blow dry my hair. Awesome product- definitly will be repurchasing.
This product was okay - it comes in a small little compact and it does the job of covering you up - just make sure you apply tons of moisturizer cuz this could really dry you out by the end of the day. You have to keep reapplying the stuff though which kind of sucks - but like most powders it hides the shine in your skin if that's a problem for you. I haven't repurchased it yet, not sure if i'm going to. I'm kind of sticking with tinted moisturizer for the summer. It's a good price compared with other powders - about 8 dollars.
Clean and Clear has done it again - i just bought this product the other day and i swear it is blasting my blackheads away with those tiny little exfoliating scrubbie things. This stuff rocks as does the continuous control acne wash by clean and clear, is awesomley priced at about 6 dollars, and comes in an easy to use squeeze tube! Excellent product - will definitely be repurchasing.
