Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
rated 4 of 5

i've been wanting to try this forever but i read a lot of review saying that it is very easy to break out from this due to it being waterproof which made me hesitant. i decided to take the plunge and get it anyway after being fed up with all of my other foundations looking too obvious on my skin. this makeup is nearly invisible. i mean that in the best way possible because it evens everything out but there is no trace of makeup and it doesn't feel heavy at all. it makes your skin look very healthy and leaves a dewy finish. the bottle is also huge and will probably last me my entire life. only thing i have an issue with is that the color seems a tad too dark for my nw15 skin. this is probably something only i notice though. it lasts nicely on my combo skin too. usually after an 8 hour shift of moving around and most likely touching my face my makeup is nearly all worn off but face and body seems to last. as for removing it, i wash my face twice. once with a makeup removing cleanser and another time with a salicylic acid cleanser and my clarisonic. i already have an issue with clogged pores but i don't think this foundation has caused too many. i say give it a go and if you don't like it, just return it.

Polishes -OPI - Road House Blues

beautiful deep navy with a hint of purple to it. creme formula. no shimmer what-so-ever which i love. to me, it is russian navy without the shimmer. i don't mind wearing dark polish in spring/summer so i think this color can be worn for all seasons. this lasts a very long time and the formula is very glossy even without topcoat. i definitely agree with another review which said that if black is too harsh for you, try this.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
rated 4 of 5
stephanieee 3/8/2012 9:17:00 PM

this is the only bb cream i've tried so i can't compare it to any other ones but i do really like it! it's really nice for those days where you want to just throw something on quickly but still look nearly flawless. i'd say it's medium coverage and it's somewhere between dewy and satin finish. the color does come out gray at first, but it adjusts easily and i had no problem with it not matching. i woudn't recommend this for oily skin as it's already a very slick product but my skin is dry/normal so it doesn't bother me. i do find that after about 6 hours of wear it starts to fade and feel a bit uncomfortable on me. to be fair, i have that problem with a lot of foundations though. i'm not sure if this is clogging on me or not. i really only wear this on days where i'm not doing anything particularly important. i do really like it though and you get a ton of product for the money! i ordered this off of skin79's website since i didn't trust amazon and i think i paid 28? not sure. you don't even need a full pump to cover your face so it will last you quite some time.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
rated 1 of 5
stephanieee 3/4/2012 12:06:00 PM

i always heard good things about this mascara but i never tried it until recently. sad to say, but i was let down. it did absolutely nothing for my med. length lashes. it made them look sparse and maybe a tad darker. the brush was also very harsh on my lashes. i've never had a brush actually hurt me before. i'm hoping that maybe i had an old tube because it felt like there was very little product in this very expensive mascara. to me, this is just as terrible as great lash.

Powder -Pur Minerals - Pressed Powder Foundation
rated 4 of 5
stephanieee 3/1/2012 5:10:00 PM

i've always had a problem finding a powder that wouldn't give me that powdery cakey look. i actually received this in my birchbox and i wasn't too thrilled at first. i need a little bit of coverage when it comes to foundation since my face has a lot of redness. this powder on it's own is nothing special to me. however, i recently started using it as a setting powder. i love it. it sets my makeup so it doesn't slide off, yet it still leaves me looking fresh and not cakey. it makes my skin feel very silky too. i use it with a flat top brush and i love the finish it gives. i'm hoping that in the summer i'll be able to get away with just wearing this. it doesn't last al day on me, but hardly anything does. the packaging doesn't really bother me. it would be nice if it had a mirror but i can manage without. the price seems pretty steep though. $25 for less than an ounce? oy vey. i'm hoping this continues to work well for me since it's been an arduous journey trying to find a decent setting powder for my combo skin.

Lipstick -NARS - Schiap
rated 4 of 5
stephanieee 3/1/2012 2:32:00 AM

if you're looking for a statement lip color, look no further. schiap is the color equivalent of an exclamation point to me. it's bright neon pink with no shimmer but not completely matte either. it is drying on me so i have to really exfoliate and moisturize to get it to look nice. i like wearing this with very minimal makeup just because it is such a shocking color.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Sexy Peel Soap
rated 5 of 5
stephanieee 3/1/2012 2:16:00 AM

this is my favorite lush soap. i love anything citrus smelling so this is literally perfection. i like how it has orange peel in it too because of the exfoliating factor (if you don't like that part, try the bohemian. more lemon scent than orange but it smells awesome) even my boyfriend likes this soap. it gets you nice and clean and wakes you up in the morning. i will always keep this soap on hand.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Miranda Soap
rated 5 of 5
stephanieee 3/1/2012 2:11:00 AM

i received this as a sample and i plan on buying a good sized chunk asap. the soap is very creamy but it has kiwi seeds which help exfoliate. it gets you clean without drying you out and without leaving a strange residue on your skin. the smell is amazing. very fruity but not artificially sweet or overpowering. very refreshing and makes using it so enjoyable. it doesn't melt down too quick either. my sample is going on 2 weeks. can't wait to get a big bar of it. edit: so i got a good sized chunk of this soap and it smells like garbage. i'm thinking maybe it was an old bar and could have expired? usually lush will put a sell by stamp on their products but this soap didn't have one so it could very well be old. it honestly smells nothing like the sample i had. more money wasted....

Moisturizers -Liz Earle - Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser - Normal-Combination
rated 4 of 5
stephanieee 2/19/2012 6:28:00 PM

i just started using the whole liz earle line and i'm pretty pleased with it. my skin feels a lot smoother and i noticed a lot of the clogged pores on my chin are slowly diminishing. first off, i love the way this moisturizer smells. it's very thick and i was afraid it would make me greasy. i use less than a dime size amount for my whole face and neck so that right there goes to show that this will last me a while. it does make my face somewhat greasy but i have dry skin so i need that sometimes. i'm not really a fan of the tub design but i can get past it. i have a major issue with flaky skin no matter what time of year and i have absolutely no flakes right now. i do get a few pimples here and there but i don't think this moisturizer is the cause. overall, i really like it and i have no desire to try anything else which says a lot for me. i think the key is to use very little of this since it does spread and go a long way.

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry Shampoo - Blush Scent
rated 5 of 5
stephanieee 2/12/2012 8:14:00 PM

best dry shampoo ever. this seriously lets me get another 2-3 days without washing my hair. my hair feels light and fluffy after using this and never gets stiff feeling. i do have dark hair but as long as you brush it out good you shouldn't have an issue with a gray cast. how i use it is i'll section my hair off and spray the roots only, wait a few minutes until it gets a bit powdery and then brush it out. the smell is okay, it's better than the original scent. i usually order these in bulk on amazon which is a lot cheaper than paying $6-7 at sallys for one can. i find a can will usually last me a little over a month and i probably use it about 4x a week. i think that's pretty good since most dry shampoos seem to just disappear (my rockstar lasted about 2 weeks and it's twice the size of batiste).

Lipstick -MAC - Sweet Sunrise (Naturally Collection 2012)
rated 5 of 5

the color is perfect! very nice milky pinky peach nude with a slight glossy finish. it's also somewhat moisturizing. this would be my favorite nude if it was a little more long lasting. hopefully they re-release this in another collection.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
rated 5 of 5
stephanieee 2/2/2012 6:22:00 PM

i've had this blush forever and i used to use it all the time. then, for reasons unknown, i stopped using it for probably 3 years. the other day i was cleaning out old makeup and found this bad boy. i tried it out again it's perfectttt! i'm an nw/nc 15-20 so wearing blush is extra tricky and often results in looking sunburnt. dandelion is perfect for my skintone and i'm so happy i've rekindled the flame. i would say it's between a light pink and a peach with very subtle shimmer. it blends out very nicely and doesn't look fake on my alabaster skin. i've heard darker skintones will use dandelion as a highlighter and i'm sure it's very pretty like that also. i kind of love and hate benefit because their packaging is so cute but so impractical. i believe they've started making the blush containers a bit different though so hopefully they're more sturdy. i believe i paid $28 for this when i got it which seems like a lot, but i still have a ton of product left. overall great blush for us super pale ladies.

Polishes -Revlon - Smoky Canvas
rated 5 of 5
stephanieee 1/9/2012 8:38:00 PM

picked this up randomly when i was just browsing revlon stuff looking for the gita dupe. (no luck finding the dupe but boyfriend was smart enough to get me the real deal for xmas) ANYWAY! this polish is so pretty! it's a really nice light taupey gray. reminds me a lot of rimmel's steel gray just a lighter version. one coat is opaque and very shiny which is nice in case you're doing your nails in a rush. it doesn't look too impressive when it's in the bottle but i'm glad my curiosity got the best of me because i don't have anything like this color in my collection.

Blush -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural
rated 5 of 5
stephanieee 12/21/2011 3:25:00 PM

let me just say i am not a blush person. i have a lot of redness in my face and most blushes just enhance that. this blush, however, is subtle enough that it just gives my face a nice boost? i really don't know. maybe it's the sheerness, or how it's slightly shimmery but it really works well for me. i don't really think it does anything for your mood but like other reviewers have said, if you actually stick your face next to the pan and sniff it smells somewhat like violet. i hate the packaging. i hate the brush, i hate the stupid mirror that flips up and i hate the lid. my lid actually just broke off which is very frustrating. but i like the color enough to put up with the waste of plastic packaging.

Bath Treatments -LUSH - Mrs. Whippy Bath Bomb
rated 5 of 5
stephanieee 12/21/2011 3:16:00 PM

favorite bath bomb of all time!!! i love absolutely everything about it. the way it smells, the way it looks, and how insanely moisturizing it is. i picked up two the other day and a SA at lush was like "wow, most people don't like that one" my jaw dropped. i then gushed about how much a love it and told him if he ever heard word of them discontinuing it to inform me ASAP. i remember i took a bath with this before i went on a date and he kept telling me i smelled amazing and how soft i felt. i give these as gifts a lot too and everyone loves them! i've actually turned quite a few friends into lush addicts haha.
