Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula
rated 1 of 5

This is another one of those you get what you pay for companies. The minerals are ok, but I sure wouldn't pay more then I did. I got the free samples plus the cost of shipping. Overall the texture is smooth but the coverage is non existent and the shine (I got semi matte) is as much as BE, maybe more. I am glad I didn't try the glow formula ick. This brand is cheap and the quality is cheap. That's all there is to it. With all the mineral companies out there and considering how long minerals last, I can't see settling for this product. I know this works for some people, and I am sure people new to minerals think this is a fabulous product, but there are so many better options out there.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - lip gloss

I loved BE's gloss several years ago, but since then they seem to have reformulated and went from a lovely soft gloss to a sticky icky gloss. I hate sticky gloss and was so upset to discover the change. Maybe this makes it last longer, I don't know, I have to sipe it off within minutes of putting it on cause the sticky glue feeling is just too much for me. If they brought back the formula they had a couple years ago, this would be my favorite gloss in the world.

Lip Treatments -Bare Escentuals - Buzz Latte lipbalm

I bought this and liked it at first but after a month it got so dry and waxy feeling I can't even apply it! I prefer the soy mocha. Much softer and creamier.

Treatments -Bare Escentuals - Rare Minerals
rated 1 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 4:24:00 PM

I was so excited about this product after hearing all the miraculous sounding reviews. I have been using this for over a month. and am not seeing ANY results. I mean NONE. Not only is it not diminishing fine line, redness or breakouts, but when I apply it at night the sponge seems to "lift" dry skin so when I am done my forhead and cheeks look like they are peeling! eww! Makes me want to wash very vigourously with a washcloth to remove the flakes. Also it has a weird smell. not bad but "salty". And if I accidently over puff it and inhale a bit of dust it tastes salty and weird. Makes me wonder if they couldn't take that jurassic soil and make a mud mask instead of adding all that cornstarch to it. I tried to mix it a bit to make a mask but it just didn't work. Oh well, guess this is not for me.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer in Drama
rated 1 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 4:18:00 PM

I tried and tried to make this work for me, but it is one of those glimmers that as you work with it turns into a muddy smudge of gray on the lid. As if the color and glimmer disappear and just leave that murky smear. and that smear really sticks! makes it hard to blend and remove. Bummer. It looks so pretty in the pot.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer in Nude Beach
rated 4 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 4:11:00 PM

I love this glimmer. The color is lovely finish is soft. BUT I think the sparkles are a bit too big. I tend to get sparkles everywhere no matter how much I swirl it into my brush. I do love the color so much though and am thrilled to have found one in another brand that is exactly what I wish BE's was. I got a sample of Lauress Breathless and it is very similar in color and is sparkly and beautiful just like Nude Beach, but the sparkles seem smaller and don't end up all on my cheeks! So as much as I love Nude Beach, Breathless is going to be my upgrade!

I really like this lipstick. Lasts a long time and doesn't feel dry or heavy. It also isn't sticky. I really like the range of colors offered and am happy with how they look on. I will buy these again, and the samples are great!

Primer/ Corrector -Garden Botanika - Skin Perfecting Foundation Primer - Dry Skin
rated 3 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 3:51:00 PM

I have tried tons of primers like this one and this was just average. It felt too heavy to me, and it balled up on my skin! I may have used too much or maybe I messed with it too much, but it was like rolling little balls of rubber cement on my cheeks after a few minutes. Weird to me. I prefer others to this one. Like Velvet veil.

Eye Shadow -Aromaleigh - Rocks Sonic Eyes [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 3:41:00 PM

I got samples of several of these. I thought they would be fun and just brighter more glimmery versions of the regular shimmer shadows. When I got the baggies out of the package I was shocked to see the chunks of color. I ordered a brown color and there were huge chunks mashed against the side of the abg of peach. it wasn't blended at all! The other ones were the same way! a dark blue was filled with chunks of vibrant pink. I don't think this was intentional just not mixed well. If it was intentional then that makes it even worse because the streaks of color were awful on the skin. the glitter separated from the main color and the base looked gritty! overall, YUCK! I will stick to the regular mineral shadows from now on. If I feel the need to get brighter colros I will go with a company experienced in this type of traditional makeup, like Urban Decay.

Eye Shadow -Aromaleigh - Pure Hue [DISCONTINUED]

I know these are great pigments and the price is actually cheap. but I have since learned that these are the exact same colors as the other mineral companies make their colors out of. These are identical to the pigments you can by from a soap wholesaler and you get an ounce for the same price rather then a piddly little pot full. I loved these until I found out they didn't involve any creativity or mixing by the company, then I felt ripped off.

Blush -Aromaleigh - Rosewood Pure Blush [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 3:23:00 PM

This is a lovely color in the jar. But no matter how much I apply it disappears. I thought this would become my favorite mineral blush when I first bought it. But it is too sheer, WAY too sheer. By the time I can see the color on my cheeks it is too chalky and powdery looking.

Foundations -Aromaleigh - Pure Powder [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 3:18:00 PM

I know thisis not offered anymore, but considering the shelf life of mineral makeup and the swapping availability I thought my review might help someone. I found this to be sheer, powdery and dry. Not the worst Mineral makeup I have tried, but definitely an example of you get what you pay for. It is cheapetr then the higher quality minerals and it shows. This may be fine for someone who is sick of liquid and looking for a cheap mineral product but definitely not good enough for someone looking for a great mineral product.

Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 2 of 5
sparkleplenty156 6/9/2006 3:08:00 PM

I thought this product would be great. It sounds great. but no it isn't great. I did find a decent match which is extremely rare for me. So I applied a full face of the correct color and it made me look dead. It was so flat and blah looking! I ended up applying mineral makeup over it just to give it some life and in the end it just made the mineral makeup look bad too. Nope not the product for me.

Top/Base Coats -Lippmann Collection - 2-Second Nail Primer

I wrote a review for the hydrating base coat also, and the same comments fit here. Love this product despite the high price. Normally my nailpolish chips in one day, YEP ONE DAY! With this product I have had polish last much longer. So happy with these products!

I love this product so much! I am not the type to spend this much on nail products but this is actually worth it! I love it so much I sent it to all the women in my family this year for birthdays. Cover girl and Sally Hanson are going to have to take a back seat in my nail drawer from now on.
