Polishes -Color Club - Revvvolution

I hate to ruin the perfect rating of this polish, but I really didn't love it. First of all, the pictures of this is absolutely amazing. So, I had to track this shade down and have it for myself. It took about 3 coats for it to be fully opaque, but that isn't a problem, because I always do 3 thin coats for all my polishes, followed by a top coat. I liked the fact that it wasn't black, it was a gunmetal/ charcoal grey. Indoors, it was just that, a shiny grey with silver specks of microfine glitter/ shimmer. I was expecting to be blown away outdoors, in the sunlight. But, no, it was a very subtle holo. When the light caught it just right, I did see a nice rainbow holo effect, but once again, very subtle. I would still use this every now and again, because the color is pretty, but the holo-ness just wasn't enough for me

Polishes -Hard Candy - lava
rated 1 of 5
sleepyhead2 10/4/2009 12:31:00 PM

I was so excited when my Wal mart finally had the Hard Candy line available. I was immediatley drawn to Lava. It reminded me a little like Ruby Pumps, so I snatched it up. After painting my nails with this, I was disappointed. On my skin tone (nc35) it was an orange/ copper shade. The shimmer in the polish made it better, because with out it, it would have been awful. This shade reminded me of Thanksgiving metallic, fake foilage people use to decorate their tables with. (which i like, just not on my nails.) I thought it would be alot redder, but it is reddish orange. Sad, because i really wanted to like this one. The price isn't too bad, but maybe I am just a cheap skate because I don't like paying $5 for a brand available at wal mart, but I wouldn't bat an eye for china glaze, etc.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Fantasy Makers Nail Color in Black Magic
rated 5 of 5

Oh yeah, this polish is like a party on your nails. I am wearing 2 coats of this on top of Stella, and it looks so pretty. This would look great over any color. It is a multi colored, rainbow strands of confetti glitter. This look is really fun and I have already gotten compliments on it. Who doesn't love that? I got this at rite aid for super cheap, 2.99, but I would pay triple that for this polish.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Soft Coeur Massage Bar (The Honeymooner)
rated 4 of 5
sleepyhead2 9/29/2009 3:18:00 PM

I was on the fence about this one. The first time I smelled it, it was really bitter to me. Since then, I think this scent has grown on me because I really do like it now. As other reviewers have mentioned, it smells like honey and chocolate. For me, it isn't a milk chocolate scent, more like a dark chocolate or unsweetend cocoa. I have yet to experience it being messy, however I don't use this as an all over body moisturizer. I use this at bedtime for my hands and feet. The price isn't bad, but i feel like I would use it way too fast if it was for my entire body. The massage bar is heart shaped and does look pretty small. So, this way, I get to treat myself at night. This does feel a tad greasy, oily at first, but it sinks in rather quickly without any residue. I do wish that it was a little sweeter, back to that milk chocolate instead of the dark chocolate note I get from it. But overall, I really do enjoy this and will definatley repurchase.

Polishes -China Glaze - Stella
rated 5 of 5
sleepyhead2 9/29/2009 3:11:00 PM

Stella is absolutely gorgeous! The color is a wine/burgandy, deep purple and magenta. The color is dark, but not enough so that it looks vampy. This color is super classy and the shine is insane. It looks like glass on your nails. I have had this on for 3 days and so far no chips, but I do wear a top coat. Stella is a stunner!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Celeb City

OMG! My search for the "perfect" silver is over! I am a huge fan of silver polishes, but end up being disapointed so many times. Many silvers are too streaky or the color itself just washes me out. I picked this up at walmart, gravitating towards it because it was silver. I didn't have high hopes for it initially, but for 2 bucks, thought why not? Little did I know, that this little gem would become holy grail status for me. I applied 2 coats (for optimum opacity) and it left a grogeous, shimmery, foil like silver. Yes, imagine that silver shiny wrapping paper. It even reminded me of the new nail craze "minx". Anyone who is a silver polish lover NEEDS this. It will not leave you disapointed, and you will have dazzling nails. I love this color and will be picking up a back up. for sure.

Polishes -China Glaze - OMG Collection - OMG
rated 3 of 5
sleepyhead2 9/22/2009 9:59:00 PM

I was completley mesmerized by the amazing pictures of this polish, that I had to order it immediately. This was one of my first holos, so I was super excited when I finally got my hands on it. I have tan skin, nc35 range, and on me, it looks like a frosty white/ silver. Indoors, it makes my hands look like an ill robot and washes me out. Outdoors, in the sun, is a different story. In certain angles and the way the sun hits this polish, it is a rainbow of colors. Even in the sun, it just doesn't "bling" enough for me, just a subtle holo. I was really hoping and expecting for more and this just wasnt' it. I am more impressed with the China Glaze Kaleidescope collection much much more. I am sure that OMG would look fab on fair skin, but it just didn't wow me on my tan skin at all.

Fragrances -Coty - Harajuku Lovers by Gwen Stefani - G
rated 4 of 5
sleepyhead2 9/22/2009 9:53:00 PM

I used to be an avid coconut fan, but got burnt out on the pina colada types or heavy musky coconut scents. G has been out for a couple of years now, and I disdainfully passed this up unsniffed on several occasions. I'm not a huge Gwen Stefani fan and LAMB disapointed me, so I never even thought to give this a shot. Well, I am so glad that I finally did! This scent is in the tops of my holy grail scents and will always be a staple of mine now. It is a creamy coconut, breezy, almost like you can smell the salt in the ocean air, with a hint of vanilla and maybe vaguely some time of tropical fruit? I can't tell which fruit because it is so subtle, pineapple? This is often compared to BBW Coconut lime verbena, which I also own. However, in a side by side comparison, Coconut lime verbena is alot sharper, much more harsher. The lime and the verbena stand out much more, where as the G, is much more creamier and coconutty. The downfall, is the price for what little product you get. The .33 ounce is roughly $30 and the 1 ounce (which I own) is about $50. There is no 3.4 ounce size available, but all the department stores display that size as testers. For being a Coty brand scent, that is a pretty steep price. The doll on top would not be my choice of how my bottle would look, but I suppose that is the Harajuku line. I also own the solid perfume version of this, and it is a total waste. The solid perfume is packed full of so much shimmer that leaves your skin a shimmery silver white. That would be alright, if the scent actually lasts, which it doesn't for me. At the most, about 15-20 minutes? Overall, the staying power for G is about 2-3 hours, but I really do adore this scent. I think it is completely different from most coconut scents out there and is really fun and playful.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Craze in Lust
rated 5 of 5
sleepyhead2 9/7/2009 11:15:00 AM

Amazing color! I am always pulled in by different pink shades on the market and wasn't expecting too heck of alot with Lust, considering it was wet 'n' wild. When i applied this ( I did 3 coats, 2 would have been just fine, but i usually do 3 coats for all my polishes) I was completely taken aback by how gorgeous this was. It was completley different from my other pink polishes. It was super shiny, although I did add a top coat. The pink is slightly blue/purple based and looks almost irridescent in the light and with movement of your hand. This is my favorite new pink shade. On my toes, I also did Lust with Glitz on top, and that was also very pretty. Wet 'n' wild has definatley made some great improvements and I was really impressed by the Craze collection. The bottles are really cute, but the downfall is the size. These are really small bottles.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - PROVOCATIVE WOMAN
rated 2 of 5
sleepyhead2 9/7/2009 11:05:00 AM

I agree with the other reviewers about this scent. It is boring, one dimensional and safe. I bought this unsniffed at tj maxx for 10 bucks and thought, why not? I remember my brother's girlfriend used to wear this a few years back and it smelled amazing on her. I have wanted a bottle of my own since then. Flash forward years later, my brother broke up with her and I now own this bottle. Because of the name Provocative woman, I was really expecting some oomph, something that would scream sexy, independant, seducing..... none of that. This is more of a I'm a wallflower, quiet and pretty girl. It is a powdery, soft floral, oriental with a hint of musk. I would describe this as just a pretty scent, and generic at that. The scent doesn't seem to last or linger and I am constantly reapplying this. On a positive note, I did recieve a compliment from my boyfriend, who rarely comments on any scents I wear. The bottle design is gorgeous as well, but given the opportunity, I would not repurchase this. I will use this up because I do like wearing scents that my bf likes and notices, but overall, this is just kinde of boring.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Mood in Sweet Craving
rated 4 of 5
sleepyhead2 3/24/2008 11:27:00 AM

This has become on of my favorites! This scent reminds me of Pink Sugar and Angel blended together. It has the same notes of Angel, minus the complex intensity the original has, which is fine, because sometimes TM angel can me a bit too much on it's own, for me. In comes the pink sugar part, which I am not completly in love with on it's own, but this is really nice. I also detect a cake and candy note Sweet Craving as well. Really sexy and fun scent. I have been wearing this for almost a week straight, and can't get enough of it. I took off a lippie because I think that the staying power could be a little better.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - BITP sandflea
rated 5 of 5
sleepyhead2 3/19/2008 11:33:00 AM

The name of this, is a bit wierd, I'll give you that much. But this scent is gorgeous! This is everything that I wished Bobbi Brown Beach was. BB Beach is nice, but to me (no stones please!) it has a sharp, almost chemical smell to it. Sandflea is that, without the harsh notes. This is really the beach in a bottle to me. You can smell the ocean, sand, the breeze....it just smells so clean and relaxing. I really love this one and will be reordering this scent many times over.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
rated 4 of 5
sleepyhead2 3/19/2008 11:27:00 AM

I went for years destesting this scent. I recieved a sample spray and out of the blue decided to "retest" it. The first initial spray, I wrinkled up my nose, but after 5 minutes or so, the fragrance "settled". To my surprise (and I was seriously surprised!), I found that I liked it. I detect notes of chocolate, vanilla, oranges, licorice and patchouli. This isn't something I would wear all the time, because it is such a heavy scent. I fear that I would offend someone, lol. My boyfriend has a serious dislike for Angel and isn't afraid to voice it, numerous times. But for some reason, Angel is addictive. Once you spray, you have this crazy urge to spray again and obsessively sniffing your wrists. I now have a full size bottle in my perfume collection, but I have to be in the mood to wear it, and especially when I am alone, to fully enjoy all the notes to this scent. I probably wouldn't repurchase this, because my bottle will probably last me forever, but the times I do wear it, I really enjoy it now.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Pearberry
rated 4 of 5
sleepyhead2 2/19/2008 1:30:00 AM

Awww, why did BBW have to let this one go? I really like this scent, not HG material, but just enough to make me wish I could get this whenever I wanted, to get back to that high school nostalgia.I remember sitting on the bleachers outside, after school with my friends, laughing, gossiping and watching the guys play football. This is a perfect mix of pears and strawberries- very sweet smelling and perfect for a nice sunny day. I am glad I found this at the semi annual sale and grabbed a couple bottles. I don't wear this often at all, but I like knowing that I have it, and can reach for it when the mood strikes. Great scent all together!

Eyeliner -New York Color - Waterproof - Dark Brown
rated 5 of 5
sleepyhead2 2/12/2008 5:39:00 PM

Dirt cheap and a great product! I like makeup that is high end, low end, you name it- i love makeup period. This eyeliner is a huge staple for me, and I hade decided to just pick it up on whim. I think it was less than 2 dollars at Rite Aid. I wasn't expecting the best, I mean, it was a cheapo drugstore eyeliner, but gave it a shot anyway. Holy Smokes, this doesn't budge. An 8 hour shift at work and it is still there, with no smudging, etc. I have really oily lids, and even with a primer, sometimes my eyeliner smears or ends up a little on my eye crease(asian eyes). But with this, it stays put untill i wash it off-and even then, it can sometimes be a bit stubborn. But using organic coconut oil( i use it as an eye make up remover, then follow up with a facial cleanser), it helps take it off really well. Because of the staying power, if you wanted to smudge you eyeliner a bit to blend it in, you have to pretty quick, before it "sets". Other than that, I will never ever buy a pricey eyeliner, this is one works really well, looks amazing and I am really happy with it!
