This is one of my HG lip products, it's a pretty golden frosty color which nudes out your lips nicely. If you don't like frost, then it's probably not for you. It's definitely a more metallic color; hence the name - foiled! I wear this on a day to day basis, occasionally swapping out for other colors. It's really flattering with a dramatic eye if you don't want to have crazy lips clashing with your other makeup. The lasting power is pretty decent, but not amazing, and you will have to reapply if you've been doing some smooching. ;)
Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Silk Finish Lipstick in 508A Black Orchid

I love Wet 'n' Wild lipsticks! This is my latest purchase... I absolutely love this color. Lately I've been into darker lip colors (probably since I moved to NYC), and this is just perfect. The formula is thin, but very pigmented, which I find is the case for other Wet 'n' Wild lipsticks I've tried. I like this formulation because it doesn't feel like my lips are caked up. Also, it doesn't seem as drying since it is thinner. For only $1, you can't really go wrong with these lipsticks. If you're looking to try a new color, go for this line before blowing your money elsewhere. These are great lipsticks.
Bronzers -Too Faced - Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder

I really like this blush/blonzer; it's just the right balance between the two to make it super wearable. I think the amount of pigmentation is perfect for easy blending. I actually got this as a smaller sized product in the French and Fabulous palette, but I'm considering buying the full-sized product when I run out. <3
OK. So I think this is one of my favorite new lipglosses. I have not purchased Revlon Super Lustrous glosses before, but I am now a fan. First of all, this color is gorgeous. In response to the reviewer below who said it is way too dark - I don't know why you would buy this if you didn't want a darker colored lip color. It looks dark in the bottle to begin with... so choose colors to fit your needs. In my opinion, this color is a great way to have an understated darker lip. It's not opaque (unless you perhaps layer it on) so it darkens your lips in a subtle way that can give you an edgier look in the daytime or nighttime without going too far if you are uncomfortable with darker lip colors. I would definitely recommend this color for anyone's makeup arsenal for times when you want to have a darker, sophisticated look. On top of that, it's unscented (a big requirement for me), it feels nice, the packaging is nice, and it has a bit of sunscreen in it. Edit: OK so I think this product may have a slight fragrance, which is fine with me. I'm sick right now so I couldn't really tell it had fragrance when I was putting it on this morning. lol. It is not overpowering like many lipglosses (I'm looking at you, NYX Mega Shine.). =)
I'm SO torn about these lip glosses... firstly, the pigmentation is GREAT. Best pigmentation in a lip gloss I've ever tried. Unfortunately, the smell is almost unbearable. It smells like very strong cherry cough drops, and that's not a smell I want near my nose and on my lips. The smell also travels in the space around me, so anyone near me can smell it. If I'm in a car and I put it on, the whole car will smell it. All in all, I love the colors.... but the smell is so strong that I don't think I can repurchase even though the pigmentation is so good.
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - makeup dissolving facial cleansing wipes
silverbrook 7/27/2010 7:36:00 PM
These are my favorite makeup removing wipes that I've tried (I've used MAC, CVS brand, and the Kirkland wipes from Costco) so far, and I would buy them all the time if wipes weren't so costly! I also wish that they would improve the packaging (have a plastic snap closure instead of just a stick plastic seal). As for the product, though, it dissolves makeup like nobody's business (unlike other wipes I've tried) without any tugging of the skin. It also makes my face feel clean, unlike other wipes which seem to leave a sticky film which I HATE. Whenever I need wipes, I will continue purchasing these unless I chance upon another cheaper alternative.
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Foaming Facial Cleanser - Sensitive Skin
silverbrook 7/22/2010 10:19:00 PM
This is my HG cleanser. I can't go without it. If I do, I feel very nervous about getting breakouts. This has kept my skin the clearest it's ever been, and it's gentle and cheap. It removes my eye makeup very easily with less abrasive rubbing than if you were to use a makeup removing wipe or some eyemakeup remover on a cotton pad since you can just swipe gently with your fingers. Great cleanser! I have repurchased again and again.
This is truly an HG product for me. I've used all three formulations of the salicylic acid wipes, and I find that the maximum strength works best for treating and preventing breakouts. I still get pimples here and there, but my skin is drastically clearer since I started using these. I get about one pimple per month using this, or less. Will repurchase probably for the rest of my life, or as needed. EDIT: I recently ran out of this, and didn't repurchase for a few months. My skin got worse and worse, and I tried to pin it on some other new products I was trying. However, the second I start using it again my pores were so happy. They stopped getting clogged and my pimples healed quickly, and now my good skin is back. Never straying from you again, Stridex wipes.
Eye Shadow -Coastal Scents - 88 color matte palette
silverbrook 6/29/2010 11:39:00 PM
I got the 88 matte palette from BHcosmetics.com - but I'm pretty sure they get their palettes made by the same company that makes the Coastal Scents palette. The colors and the palette are pretty much exactly alike except for the logo. This is a really decent palette for its price - MOST of the colors have very good payoff. The highlight colors in the first row have very, very poor pigmentation but the rest of the palette is great. I would say that this is good if you want to try bright, colorful looks from time to time since it gives you a small pan for each color. For my purposes, it's perfect, because I usually wear neutrals most days and wouldn't need big sizes of colorful eyeshadows. In the future, I'm not sure if I'd repurchase since I don't like the packaging that much - I would like to try the NYX S104 78 color eyeshadow palette next.
Lip Treatments -New York Color - Lip Sliders Tinted Lip Balm ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
silverbrook 6/29/2010 11:18:00 PM
I just read here that this product is being discontinued?! SO SAD. This is a wonderful tinted lip balm - probably the best balm I've ever had. I have it in sugar coated and sugar kiss, and I absolutely love both of them. The consistency is amazing - not sticky or runny. And the color payoff is perfect for a lip balm. It's better than many lip glosses in that respect. I hope to find sugar coated in stores somewhere so I can buy backups. This is great for keeping my lips soft, and it's dirt cheap. The packaging is super cute also! Why do companies discontinue great products?!
I would give this product 5 lippies, if it didn't have such a strong scent. Other than that, it's a phenomenal gloss if you want good pigmentation, shine, and lasting power. All of the NYX mega shine glosses are pretty great in that department. Beige is a lovely, basic pink with no shimmers in it, which is what I prefer in glosses/lip products. I will repurchase this again unless I find lip glosses with the same pigmentation that have no scent.
This lipstick is awesome! Cheap, and very moisturizing, and the color is very flattering. It's a bright, cool-toned pink with no shimmers in it. Perfect to go under a pink lipgloss, or by itself. I highly recommend it, and all the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks also have SPF 18, which is a nice plus.
I would like this product if it didn't break my out like CRAZY. I used it around my mouth and got several pimples immediately. Clusters of them. Too bad.
I really like these shadows - they are super smooth, at least the ones I have. I have bone, which is a very good highlighting shade (matte) and sable, which I am less crazy about but it's still good. If you are getting creasing, use a primer. If I don't use primer, any and all makeup products crease on me. I got these bogo - Ulta has great deals and sales. So wait for one before purchasing.
This is a decent mascara - I find that its curling power, lengthening, and volumizing are all pretty decent - just not AMAZING. I will use up my tube, but probably move on to trying some other mascaras. EDIT: I find myself reaching for this mascara from time to time again, I have to say that it's probably my favorite drugstore mascara that I've tried so far. Clumping can be an issue if you're putting on multiple coats for volume, but a run through with the lash comb helps alleviate this. I tried applying it today by applying the primer, then mascara, then primer again, then mascara, and it worked out pretty nicely for my straight, Asian lashes. FYI, drugstore mascaras I've tried: Full 'n Soft, Lash Exact, Voluminous, Telescopic... probably more that I've forgotten about. It is my favorite out of those, though. And it doesn't seem to dry out quickly - I've had my tube for quite awhile, so that makes up for the smaller amounts of product in the tube. I will bump my rating to 5/5, since this has been my favorite drugstore mascara (despite the non-rave reviews from many others here).
