Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Shampoo One

This is a great shampoo. Gives my hair bounce and doesn't cause any greasiness. It's gentle enough for my coloured hair and is the best shampoo I've found. My mum loves this too. I alternate occasionally with a coloured shampoo, but even if I don't my hair colour lasts really well and doesn't go brassy (I have blond foils). Will continue to buy.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete All Day Moisturizer with sunscreen Sensitive Skin SPF15 (classic gentle formula)
rated 5 of 5

This is FANTASTIC!! Is a great spf 15 moisturiser for sensitive skin. It works perfectly under makeup and is a HG for me. At the moment I can't use this as it contains chemical suncreen (rather than a physical block like zinc) as I had a procedure done, so I just use this on my neck at the moment. But I'll use this as soon as my dermatologist says a physical block sunscreen isn't needed! This is the best I've found under makeup-no balling or oiliness.

Eye Makeup Remover -Garnier - Clean Sensitive 2-in-1 Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5
shelly_82 10/23/2011 8:11:00 AM

This is the best eye make-up remover ever! I've tried many Clarins (good but expensive) Lancome (as per Clarins), L'oreal (good, but still not as good as garnier), Neutrogena (horrible-stung like crazy and didn't work properly!), and this is the best by far!! It works wonderfully at removing any waterproof makeup and is never irratating. It's really cheap and works better than lancome and clarins. I used to use L'oreal water-proof eye make-up remover, however this is cheaper, leaves no greasy residue and lasts longer as you don't need much. I'll never use another brand whilst this is available. I've converted all my family and friends and they LOVE it too!!

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Natural Instinct - Advanced Daily Protection Moisturiser SPF 30+
rated 5 of 5
shelly_82 10/23/2011 8:00:00 AM

I recently had a procedure done and have to wear an spf with a physical block (as opposed to a chemical one). This is wonderful and wears well under makeup. I haven't had any sunburn since wearing this and it also hasn't caused any skin irratation. Highly recommend!! It is a bit drying, but I put on a little bit of cetaphil cream underneath, and it's perfect!!

Gorgeous and naural pink for my PPP complexion!! It gives me a lovely pink glow and is nicely pigmented. My favourite blusher so far, but can no longer buy it in Australia...such a shame, I LOVED this!!

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - maybelline shine seduction Passion Petal 150
rated 5 of 5
shelly_82 7/2/2011 6:51:00 AM

Really love this lipgloss. The colour suits my PPP complexion, isn't drying, isn't sticky and gives such a pretty shine. Love this for pink glossy lips (a natural pink-not barbie pink) and love the 'magic sunset' shade for natural bronze tone. These lipglosses are amazing, but have been discontinued in Australia!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!! This is my favourite lip gloss ever. The colour is gorgeous, it's cheap, doesn't dry my lips, isn't sticky, suits my PPP complexion. I've had so many compliments on this lipgloss-such a shame it's no longer sold in Australia!!

Cleansers -MAC - Cleanse Off Oil
rated 3 of 5
shelly_82 7/2/2011 6:39:00 AM

This is a great cleanser/make-up remover if you don't have skin that can become dehydrated and a bit sensitive. I have never had a reaction from this and it has always removed all make-up etc, but it was a bit drying sometimes. I have since found dermalogica pre-cleanse which is just as great at removing make-up and cleansing, but it is never drying and my skin feels nice after using it. EDIT-23/10/2011- I recently ran out of my HG Dermalogica pre-cleanse, and used this as I had a near-full bottle sitting in my cupboard. I was shocked by how drying and harsh this MAC cleanser feels. I have changed my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars, as it does remove makeup, but is way to harsh. Trying this again after using Dermalogica pre-cleanse for the last 6 months made me realise that this MAC one is just a makeup remover, whereas Dermalogica pre-cleanse not only removes makeup, but cleanses my face and makes it feel balanced and glowy. Will never use MAC cleanse off oil again, despite having a nearly full bottle-having 'happy' skin is more important!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Eyeshadow in Electra
rated 2 of 5
shelly_82 7/2/2011 6:22:00 AM

This was my first MAC purchase and I regret not trying it on my eyes at the MAC counter. I thought it was a nice silver shade, but on me it looks really dark and takes on a blue, not silver appearance. It doesn't suit my PPP complexion and makes me look horrible. I've given it 2 as it's really pigmented and I could see it being pretty on someone with darker colouring perhaps. I paid $32 Australian for this and wish I'd spent that money on a MAC shade that suits me :-(

Loose Powders -Clarins - Loose Face Powder
rated 4 of 5
shelly_82 7/2/2011 6:15:00 AM

This is a great powder for someone who wants a matte appearance. I used the 'translucent' shade for about 2yrs. It was the best powder I had found and I thought it was HG, until I tried MAC prep + prime. In comparison, this is quite fake looking and it's obvious you're wearing it. If you have oily skin, I would imagine that this loose powder is perfect. If you want a more natural look, try MAC prep + prime. I have given it 4 for a rating as it does what it's supposed to- it sets your makeup, controls shine, and is quite silky. The other benefit is that 'translucent' was not at all orange on my PPP skin!

Loose Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder

This is amazing stuff. I had been wearing MUFE's version and wore this one day instead. My friend had been telling me all week that I looked sick, and the one day I wore this she commented on how great (and naturally healthy!!!) I looked. This was the first time she's given me a positive comment on my complexion (I'm very pale with dark circles so I look sick most of the time!!). Anyway, I also wore this whilst seeing my brother and sister-in-law and they also commented on how healthy I looked (this is the first time my brother has complimented me in my 28 yrs)!! Even though this costs me three times as much as the MUFE version, it's performance is amazing and well worth it. In Australia this costs $42 for a tiny container, but is the best lose powder I've ever tried (and I've tried at least 30 of them). It sets my makeup perfectly and makes me look so healthy- no chalky face here! IT'S AMAZING STUFF!!!!

Polishes -OPI - Yokohama Collection- Baybridge Sunset
rated 5 of 5
shelly_82 11/7/2010 6:38:00 AM

AMAZING HG nail polish. This was the first OPI I'd tried and I fell in love straight away. It's perfect on my pale cool skin and I get constant compliments (like every day!!!!). It lasts and lasts and I can often get a week with only very very minor tip fading. I love that this colour has glitter in it as I love shimmer/glow products (but it's completely suitable for work). This is my favorite nail polish and I'll always continue to buy it! The only thing is that it does get goopy after 6 months or so, but I'm going to try Seche Restore to see if it helps/or another thinner.

Polishes -Chanel - Rose Paradise

shelly_82 11/7/2010 6:28:00 AM

I was SO DISAPPOINTED with this. I bought it was AU$35 I think and it is the worst quality nail polish ever. Each time it chips horribly in 1-2 days and has even chipped in 30 mins once-couldn't believe it!! The only positive is that I love the colour. I won't ever buy this brand again for nail polish- OPI is amazing and soooo much cheaper! I’ve tried using top coats and base coats etc but doesn’t help.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palette - Paradise Cove - 397 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
shelly_82 11/7/2010 6:21:00 AM

AMAZING PRODUCT!!!! This is my absolute HG eyeshadow. To be honest I don't do the whole "crease" thing, but I do an all over lid colour and highlight on brow bone and inner eye. I've had so many compliments with this product (the only ever compliments I've received for my eyeshadow). So to get my perfect lid colour I first do a swept of the darkish brown (2nd middle from the bottom), then do a sweep of the coppery shimmery colour (bottom right). I've found that these colours by themselves are too dark or light but together they are perfect!! My mum also loves this too!! You're probably thinking that I should just use one colour to do this job but I've searched high and low and had no luck!! The highlighter (top right) is PERFECT!! I've got naked lunch and MUCH prefer this highlighter...go figure!! I live in AUS but my parents got this in the States when they went. They were there again recently (Oct 2010) and they were told it was discontinued so I couldn't get another (but I don't live there so not sure). I'd RUN and get this either way. For $4.99 it's amazing value (especially since I paid AU$32 for NK and never use it). The only bad thing with this palette is that it's very bulky (so I can't as easily do my eyeshadow on the run etc. Also the lid breaks easily (I didn't even drop it). It would be ideal if they had my 3 favs in 1 pallette, but oh well. I thought that Walking on Eggshells by WnW was my answer, but I don't like it as much (not quite sure-the texture isn’t as good and the colours aren't as nice on my very pale cool complexion).

Concealers -Cover Girl - TruConceal concealer
rated 1 of 5
shelly_82 7/14/2010 4:25:00 AM

THE WORST CONCEALER EVER!!! This was the biggest waste of money ever, and I live in Australia so I can't return it! I got this is no.1, and it was so so horrible. It 'balled' under my eyes, provided zero coverage, was cakey with my translucent powder on top (the powder I've used for the last couple of years and never had an issue with), and to top it off it caused breakouts on my t-zone and makde my skin so oily!! There is nothing good to say about this-it is the most dissapointed I've ever been with makeup! If you want a good 'cheaper' concealer, try Maybelline Mineral Power or L'oreal Touch Magique, which are both really great!!
