Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation

meh... I have been a mineral makeup convert for two years now and am in love with EDM products. Well I ran out of my hg ECM foundation and needed something to cover me in the four days of waiting for my package to arrive. Enter maybelline. Yeah, and it exited just as fast. First off I got this in light. I was suprised how dark it was. But that was ok. I have chameleon skin. I can pull off quite a range of shades. That wasn't my issue so much. Co pared to my edm, this didn't give a flawless finish, was too powdery, not enough coverage, and god help you if you have to use the included brush. I use my edm kabuki and it is hands down the best. This maybelline brush made me laugh then cry. I just didn't care for the formulation or color. I will never buy again.

Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Dermo Expertise Futur-e Moisturizer SPF 15 (Oil-Free)

well I like this product. My skin is normal/ dry and I don't have issues with acne. Being 30 I wanted something to keep my skin supple and hydrated. Sooooo my lotions just don't provide enough moisture. I like the fact that it's in a pump. More hygenic in my book. When I applied it the first time I was extremely disappointed in that it left my skin sticky and tacky. But after five minutes it ad soaked in leaving me with very soft skin, perfect for makeup application. A small annoyance, but can live with it bc my skin stayed hydrated all day even during the cold Canadian winters. It does sting under my eyes but only briefly. Again I can deal with it. After using now for 2 weeks my skin is softer and somewhat brighter One thing I don't like is the slight shine from the SPF. But since I wear mineral makeup this is a moot point. If I was to go sans makeup tho, I would not reach for this. Overall I'm happy with this for the price. I think I paid $11.00 cdn at shoppers. I will prolly repurchase

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly

this is the best for chapped lips. You can't slather this on alone and hope fir smooth lips. It acts as a barrier to keep moisture in, but if your lips are dehydrated already doesn't do much good. What I do is this. Before I go to bed, after cleansing and brushing my teeth, I run my finger under warm water and wet by lips. Then I apply the Vaseline over top. It keeps the water on my lips and forces it to sink in. In the morning my lips are plump and smooth. I've never had a problem with chapped lips since.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Caryl Baker Visage-Sapphire gel liner
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/27/2008 10:32:00 PM

This is my first liner from Caryl Bakers Collection. I bought it in Sapphire. The color is gorgeous! Its not a bright in your face blue, but more of a smokey blue-grey with some shimmer. Tres beautiful! It comes in a small clear pot with a black lid. Id like to try their emeral color. It looked gorgeous as well, but I only had enough money for one. The liner creates a smooth clear line on my eye. Even without my Urban Decay eue primer it does NOT smudge(but I am a dry girl). I wear this over my Cypress(everyday minerals) eyeshadow. Makes my blue eyes look so defined. Comes off quite easily with baby oil(my eye makeup remover..el cheapo) Price wasnt bad. I believe I paid $18.50 CAN. Not outrageous, but enough. This product will last forever tho, so Im not complaining. I like Caryl products in general, although I could go without the high pressure sales pitch when I go get my brows waxed. NO I DO NOT want to join your beauty club for the zilionth time..sheesh! Would buy again. And will but other colors as well.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Nature's Heaven-Mineral Facial Peeling
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 6:40:00 PM

This is to be used as an exfoliant. It was bought at a little kiosk in the mall selling dead sea products. It comes in a little white and silver glass jar, with a screw off metal lid. The product is white with blue granules in it. It is a nice rich consistency and has a nice light airy smell to it. A little goes a long way, and the jar will last me some time as I only exfoliate once a week. I quite like this as most exfoliators I have used have dont nothing. I apply this to my face after a hot shower when my pored are open. I dry my face so it is only very slight damp. I add a small amount to my hands and start scrubbing. I have sensitive skin, and although this does not hurt, I could see it hurting some people if you are too aggressive. You can def feel the granules working across your skin. After rinsing my face is like a babys butt. Will repurchase. Cost is around $40.00 CAN

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Etre-Dead Sea Mineral Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 6:34:00 PM

Again, I bought this, along with some other products, from a kiosk in the mall selling Dead Sea Products. I have always been searching for a good cleanser. I have dry skin, sensitive skin. Cleansers do one of two things, either clean my face but stripping it DRY, or irritate in and cause pain and blotchiness. So I tell the lady that and she hands me this wonderful little product. The way to apply this is to wet the hands and rub into a DRY face. (I always have to dry my face off when Im in the shower with a handy towel, an annoyance but nothing major..)Ive tried applying to a wet face and it just doesnt clean as well. Anyways, I rub this in circles and every last trace of makeup is gone. Primer, foundation, mascars, liner..goooone. Best of all, my skin is hydrated afterward. NO irritation..a godsend. The packaging is cute. Its in a bottom capped light blue and purple bottle. The cleanser itself is a greenish blue, gel like consistency, and light. It will lather a bit when used. Smell is very light, and kinda smells like.hmmm...I dont know like clean air, or linen. Hard to describe but nice. I was given a deal, and paid $20.00 but it retails for about $35.00. Would buy again.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Nature's Heaven-Mineral Eye Serum
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 6:24:00 PM

I was accosted by one of those ladies selling Dead Sea products in a kiosk at the mall. After much discussion and questioning(not too mention a huge hit on my wallet) I left with some products, this being one of them. Now the girl told me to use this once a day for 3 weeks, and then once a week for maintenance. But I still use it everyday even tho its been over a month since I bought it. It comes in an upright pump(yay!) with a silver cap and bottom. Nice looking...I squirt out a pea size(very small) amount of product and tap it into my eye area. There is a slight tingling sensation as the product is absorbed. This stuff us quite nice. My undereye area is very hydrated(which is nice as I am on the dry side) and makeup goes on quite smoothly. I am 29 and do not have much in the way of lines under my eyes, so I cannot attest to that. However, I have seen an increase in brightness, plumpness, and general overall wider eyed look after using it. Now this retails for about $70.00 CAD, but I scammed my way into getting it for $50.00. Cant bullsh@t a bullsh@tter as they say. I really really like it, as I do the other products I bought. I would buy again.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 6:14:00 PM

How have I not reviewed this??? Hmm..Well I love it. Its my fave mascara, just above my second love, Voluminous. Now I was a little intimidated by the size of this bad boy when I got it, but I adjusted. I have large eyes, so getting into the corners was not an issuw with me. The formula is thick and creamy and goes on so smoothly. No clumps, no flakes, and, of course, dramatic lashes. Now my lashes are average. Not long, not short, not thick, not thin, not sparse but nor overly plentiful. The only going on with them is that they are naturally curled. This stuff gives me "I want YOU" eyes. Total sexpot, diva glam baby! But *sigh* its so expensive! $31.00 CAD at the shoppers drug mart here. I usually buy every 3 months as the formula starts getting really thick and clumpy around that time. Two words: H..G,...

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - pick me up concealer
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 6:06:00 PM

I mix this with my Em foundation to perk me up a little bit. It gives the face a nice fresh morning glow. I have not used it as concealer, so I cant attest to it powers there. But its wonderful as an all over face dust to give you a little color boost.

Eyeliner -Everyday Minerals - Black Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 6:02:00 PM

LADIES, if you are going to use this( and this also goes for the e/s of Em I would suggest doing your eyes FIRST. Before your concealer, before your foundation b/c you WILL have fall out. Nothing worse that having a beautiful made up face ruined my smudges of black. Thast being said, this is a true ink black. I have only ever used to as a liner. Using as an e/s scares me as I dont have much experience using something this black. Id prolly end up looking like I had a shiner. I use it wet and get a nice black rich line that stays true all day(over my UDPP). Im tending to shy away from black liners and venture into the greens so I havent touched this in awhile. But when I need a good black, I will return to it. This jar will last me foreverrrrrrrr. Love EM

This is a beauteous color, but as e/s it just aint working. It looked like I had some kinda of eye infection. So I tried it as a liner, and Voila! success!. Its too bad, b/c it is a nice color. Its a shimmery golden copper. .

Eye Shadow -Everyday Minerals - Cypress Eye Shadow

sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 5:56:00 PM

This is GORGEOUS! Its a very shimmery light mossy green. My blue eyes pop wearing this. Over my UDPP, it stays put all day and doesnt crease. Ive even used it wet as an eyeliner pn days when I just want liner and mascara, and it looked awesome. Im So glad to be trying different colors than my usual boring browns and taupes. I would buy again and again.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - All Smiles
rated 4 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 5:52:00 PM

This is an interesting color. I have used many EM blushes and this is the latest. Like so many of their products, the swatch on the website really didnt look like the product. The color is a peachy coral. There is a slight shimmer..not huge shimmer like chit chat(which I love, im not knocking it). Being a LLL, this color is hard for me to wear unless I use a VERY light hand. As with all of their blushes it can be a pain in the butt as the powder seems to go everywhere. Ive bought some of the mixing bowls from the EM site, so I store them in there and it helps. They also help to creat custome colors of blush and foundation..but Im getting off the subject,. The color is bright and highly pigmented. Is the color nice? Yes. Would I buy again? No. Just because it doesnt seem to suit me, might be better for those with a slightly darker complexion looking for a peachy color.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Apple
rated 4 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 5:42:00 PM

I dont know about this one. Im a LLL and this just seemed a little to garish for me. I applied lightly but I still looked somewhat clownish. On me it has a somewhat mauve finish. I was hoping it was going to me nick nacks darker cousin, but no. I will continue trying to find ways to make this mesh with my face. It IS a very lovely color on its own tho. Got to give props where due.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Nick Nack
rated 5 of 5
sertasheeplover 3/18/2008 5:38:00 PM

Love this blush!! I seem to reach for this one the most of all my EM blushes. But I recently ordered some more(shhh dont tell my husband...but on the other hand its so cheap GO AHEAD) so we shall see if it remains my fave. Im a LLL and this blush just gives me such a nice flush. Its light so I dont worry about using too much of a light hand. Aftre blending I get this dull pink flush that brightens my face up. I mean it makes me look awake and slims my face. Much love
