Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick in Sky Pink
sayshal 11/1/2012 10:24:00 AM
I would like to say that if I had this in a different color this would probably be a 5 star review. I'd heard great things and really wanted to try out Revlon's matte lipstick. This was the only one of the Revlon Matte shades left at my local drugstore, so even though I wanted to get the peach or red, I decided to just grab this one to test out the formula. These are fantastic. The color is fairly long lasting if you blot and I don't find these drying at all. On me the color lasted about 3 hours. So not as long lasting as my Mac Matte lipsticks, but they aren't nearly as drying. Unfortunately on my NC20 skin this made me look ill. I haven't found a single "true pink" lipstick that looks good on me. At this point I've given up on finding a pink lip color. The closest to pink I've found to work is a brown-rosy-berry shade I have from Lancome that looks pink-ish on. However that said, the formula is great and I will definitely be scoping this out in other colors.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
sayshal 10/24/2012 9:25:00 PM
So I have been on a BB cream/tinted moisturizer kick for about 3 years now. I recently picked this up in order to start playing with foundation again. The reason why I originally left the foundation world was due to how acne-prone my skin was, however since I've entered my twenties my skin (thankfully) has calmed down a ton and now only has the occasional spot. I got this is the combination/oily version in the shade Buff 150. I am a mac NC 20 and a Missha Signature #23. With my normal base of moisturizer and primer underneath it, and with my blush and contour over it, this foundation has been on for over 12 hours now, (put it on at 8am) and it has not moved. It feels lighter on my skin than my BB cream does. My only qualm with this product is that it is only an SPF6 and my moisturizer doesn't have SPF since my BB cream usually takes care of that. Other than that so far, this works beautifully. I used my fingers to blend it and had no problems. Overall very happy for $12USD.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Adore
sayshal 10/24/2012 2:43:00 PM
I started buying these to dupe the Tarte balm stains. Having tried both I actually prefer the Revlon version to the Tarte version because they are less sticky, the color lasts longer, they are a lot cheaper, and I find the Revlon ones a bit more moisturizing. Adore is by far my favorite color of the 4 I own. It is a beautiful darkish red stain that is very wearable during the day. I also have smitten, charm, and cherish and am looking forward to grabbing a few more the next time I go to the drugstore.

Cleansers -Korres - 3-in-1 Milk Proteins Emulsion
sayshal 10/24/2012 2:37:00 PM
I use this as a makeup remover before I use my Dark Angels Cleanser and I really like it. I would never use it alone as a cleanser since it doesn't clean my skin, but it removes makeup amazingly well which my dark angels cannot do. I only use it at night or when I need to take my makeup off. I really like it, works better than any other makeup remover I have tried and it does NOT break me out.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Lemon and Sage
sayshal 10/23/2012 9:21:00 PM
So I've been trying to save money in the shampoo and conditioner department which unfortunately had been leaving my hair a flat lifeless grease ball. I caved and purchased this with its matching conditioner. This (with its conditioner) makes my hair feel WONDERFUL! The ends have moisture, the top isn't greasy, its volumizing, and MY HAIR IS SO SOFT! It smells very lemony as the name implies, which I enjoy immensely. Definitely would recommend to people whose hair tends to get a little greasy and those who wouldn't mind a little extra volume. Only issue is its rather expensive, $16.00 a bottle!

BB Cream -MISSHA - M Signature Real Complete B.B. Cream SPF 25 PA++
sayshal 10/16/2012 11:06:00 PM
So I had been using the skin79 orange label for quite some time and though it evened out my skin beautifully it was about 2 shades too pale for me. So in my quest for the perfect BB cream that did not involve piling on the bronzer I bought this in #21 and #23. I am a NC20 and directly out of the tube the #21 looked like it would be a better match, however once the BB cream had time to oxidize and be on my face, #23 turned out to be an exact match for my summer skin-tone. Haven't had the product long enough to see if it breaks me out, but I will update the review at that point. So far though I am loving this product. -EDIT- Unfortunately, as time has progressed I have through the process of elimination determined this product was breaking me out. When the additional breakouts were on my chin I assumed my body was just being extra special, but when they appeared on my forehead, I started rotating products in and out. This turned out to be the culprit. I still may give it a second come summer because I adored the glow it left on my skin... =(

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Porridge Soap
sayshal 10/2/2012 10:30:00 AM
This soap smells delicious. It exfoliates wonderfully. But it is incredibly expensive and leaves tons of little oat pieces all over the bottom of the shower. Every once in a while I pop in and get a bar, but I don't tend to make a habit of using fancy soaps.

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
sayshal 10/2/2012 10:21:00 AM
This stuff works pretty well. I was running out of my Tarte eye primer sample that I had gotten over the summer and picked this up at Target. It does what its supposed to, and it doesn't break me out. Overall I'm happy. I got it in the nude shade because that's the only one my store stocked. For a dollar what more could you ask for?

Lipstick -MAC - Rebel Lipstick
sayshal 8/21/2012 12:47:00 PM
First off, Mac's lipstick formulas are fantastic. I find them to be a little drying, but they last for ages and stain the lips for long-lasting color. Rebel (on me) is a gorgeous magenta/berry/purple shade. Definitely a statement lipstick, but one I wouldn't hesitate to wear for everyday in the fall/winter months. All in all, I love this color and would definitely recommend it.

Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - Clean Slate Poreless 12 hr perfecting primer
sayshal 8/7/2012 6:44:00 PM
This primer is amazing. I have nothing bad to say about it. I first tried it in the $9 trial trio that tarte put out and fell in love. The little trial tube lasted me two months so I have big hopes for how long the big tube will last. My BB cream goes on smooth and doesn't move all day, even in humid summer heat.

Eye Shadow -Sonia Kashuk - Instructional Eye on Neutral Palette
sayshal 8/7/2012 6:37:00 PM
I bought this product as a matte dupe for the UD Naked palette. It serves this purpose for me well since I don't enjoy shimmery/sparkly colors to begin with and I found all of the colors to be lovely and pigmented with little to no fallout with primer. Definitely worth it, this palette is a staple in my makeup collection. EDIT I still use this for eyeshadow, but have really been using it for my brows more and more! The colors are great for brows! I blend the grey with the darkest brown for mine and apply with a brush.

Eyes -Pixi - EYE BRIGHT KIT
sayshal 8/6/2012 10:49:00 AM
So I've been looking at this product for a while and finally caved and bought it despite its ridiculous price tag yesterday. Initial thoughts upon opening the packaging were regret and anger at the small amounts of product however I spent quite a bit of time playing with it today and I absolutely love this product. First - the two things Petra refers to as concealers are really correctors. I used the beige one on top of the lid and a mixture of the beige and yellow underneath the eye to neutralize the purple darkness I have there. The brightener I used in the inner and outer corner as Petra suggested in her video and I used the highlight on the brow bone. The affect once the make up set was a bright-eyed, awake, no make up, beautiful eye look. The cons of the product are simple, for the price its not a lot of product and if your dark circles are particularly bad, you will need to use a foundation/concealer combo UNDERNEATH this. For this reason 4 stars instead of five. This is a finishing kit to brighten and awaken the eye area after you've done your face (including eye concealer if needed). I'm NC20 and I didn't find either of the corrector colors to be too dark or too light for my skin, I got it in the shade light-medium. With this on I don't feel like I really need eye makeup to look put together, just a swipe of mascara and a little lipstick and I'm good to go.

Mascara -FairyDrops - Scandal Queen Mascara
sayshal 8/3/2012 1:18:00 PM
So this mascara was my next product on my mascara quest and I'm quite pleased. It doesn't run when working out, but it comes off easily in the shower. Gives big voluptuous lashes. The brush is a bit difficult to use at first however once I got the hang of it, it yielded good results. I take off one star because I need to use a lash comb it minimize clumping. ---- Taking off a star. I've been using this mascara for a bit longer now and its clump city! Its waterproof formula is amazing since it comes off easily, but even with a lash comb its difficult not to end up looking like you have 3 or 4 giant eyelashes.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
sayshal 7/11/2012 10:14:00 AM
I've been using this product for about a week now and have fallen in love. This is the best concealer I have ever used. It does not make me break out. I apply it around 8 in the morning and when I get home around 5pm it hasn't budged. I use it for blemishes and concealing discoloration around my nose and mouth. I do not use this as my under-eye concealer so I can't really comment on whether or not this makes a good under-eye concealer. I didn't get matched by a Mac specialist, I matched myself. I'm pretty fair and I wear most Mac products in NC20.

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA
sayshal 7/11/2012 10:05:00 AM
I've tried many bronzers. Most are either too dark for my skin or are orange. I also hate sparkles, which for some reason seems to go hand in hand with bronzers. I've been in France for the summer and have ended up getting a lot darker than I usually do on my arms due to being outside a lot more. However, even though I rarely remember to put sunscreen on my arms I'm vigilant about putting it on my face and neck and it had created a strange looking color disparity. I went into the Sephora in the town where I'm staying and as soon as I told the lady I hated sparkles she directed me to this bronzer. It looks very natural, though it does require a light hand a good brush (not the one that comes with it). I'm very happy with this product it makes my face look natural against the rest of my body without really looking like I'm wearing a full dose of bronze face. My only complaint is it is very difficult to throw this on in a rush, doing so makes it look a bit like you have smeared dirt on your face. BLEND BLEND BLEND
