Eye Shadow -MAC - Eyeshadow - Era
sarahmarie86 1/2/2013 8:06:00 PM
So this is exacty what I have been lookin for, for the last 5 years... and I've finally found you Era and I love you. This is the perfect transition color ever. I am a NC20 for reference. I like to use matte highlighters and when I used matte transition colors like kid and wedge it didn't blend as well as I'd like. Because it is a satin, it has a slight sheen, so it blends extremely well with matte shades. I have a "Guide to MAC Transition Colors" on my blog so feel free to check it out and compare the others: http://eyeshadowaa.blogspot.com/2013/01/a-guide-to-mac-transition-colors.html

Eye Shadow -MAC - e/s in Mylar
sarahmarie86 11/15/2012 7:51:00 PM
On my NC20-25 skin Mylar makes for a very natural highlight... it's great for a "no makeup, makeup". It is very neutral meaning it doesn't lean pink or yellow, which many highlighters can do. It has a very subtle sheen to it, although this isn't readily seen once applied to the eye. Overal I really like Mylar, but I'm not sure that I will need to repurchase anytime soon, because 90% of the time I use Vanilla.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
sarahmarie86 11/10/2012 8:05:00 PM
Blacktrack is amazing for the first couple months... it's creamy, smooth, applies with ease, and is deeply pigmented, and then a sad sad day comes -- the day you try to put on your eyeliner and then it flakes into your eye, becomes impossible to work with, and looks like total crap. The key to success is just accepting that this day will come and just get a new one when it does. Mine usually lasts about 6 months. I read that if you scoop out a little bit and put it into a sample container and just use that one you can extend the life of the gel liner... It dries out because of the air exposure everytime you open it, so that makes pretty good sense. I prefer the sonia kashuk bent liner brush or the MAC 210. Awesome product -- while it lasts :) EDIT: I couldn't live with throwing away so much product, so I took a q-tip and scraped off the top layer -- a pretty thick one -- and under it was nice, creamy liner. So try this before you buy a new one. http://eyeshadowaa.blogspot.com/

Powder -Cargo - Cargo Blu-Ray High Definition Powder Makeup
sarahmarie86 11/8/2012 6:28:00 PM
I like this powder A LOT! I used to use MAC studio fix powder but then I switched to Cargo's liquid foundation and bought this powder to set it. I think that it works great to control oil and gives a really nice finish. When applying it I use a MAC 129 powder brush... I have also tried using a pad that I bought separately but this made it appear too cakey. http://eyeshadowaa.blogspot.com/

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Gentle
sarahmarie86 11/8/2012 5:31:00 PM
I have had this blush for years and never really touched it because I think that it applies patchy... until I found the secret! With the mineralize blushes I have figured out that if you use the "sweep" motion you will get a patchier application than if you pat it onto the cheeks. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but its almost like you are softly pushing it into your skin (I use the MAC 168). I'm not saying it's the best blush ever -- the color is a bit much for my NC25 skin -- but it's better than I thought. http://eyeshadowaa.blogspot.com/

Blush -MAC - Cubic
sarahmarie86 11/8/2012 5:24:00 PM
Although this blush may seem boring in the pan, it is the BEST blush I have ever found for my NC25 skin. I can use this no matter what look I am going for -- cool or warm colors on my eyes or lips -- it looks good with EVERYTHING. If someone was just looking to start their MAC collection and they had similar coloring to me this would be a must have for sure!! I will always repurchase. http://eyeshadowaa.blogspot.com/

Eye Shadow -MAC - MAC Brun Eyeshadow
sarahmarie86 11/8/2012 9:59:00 AM
This is my favorite dark brown... I find that because it is a cooler brown I can use it with more looks, especially if I want to substitute a brown for black -- to make it more day friendly. I am blonde so I can't really comment on its use for brows but I do know that it makes for an AWESOME crease and outer V color. Check out my blog for pics:

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Drama

Absolutely HORRIBLE. The brush is the most useless shape, and it smells awful. Do not waste your money! I wish I wouldn't have :(

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
sarahmarie86 11/6/2012 3:39:00 PM
This blush is beautiful! I wasn't sure how well it was going to show up on my NC20-25 skin because it is so light, but it turned out to be gorgeous. I will say that it would probably suit cooler skintones a little better, but it was still worth the purchase. This blush reminds me of the light pink flush a porcelain doll has. My favorite to use on days when I want to look simple and naturally pretty. http://eyeshadowaa.blogspot.com/

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible Eyeshadow - Bronzed Taupe
sarahmarie86 11/1/2012 5:26:00 PM
Absolutely beautiful... I LOVE taupes and this one may be my new favorite. The texture takes getting used to but I think the best way to apply it is with your finger. I have swatches on my blog in a "Battle of the Taupes" if you would like to see what this shadow looks like on the skin. It is almost an exact dupe to Tarte's Bamboo cream eyeshadow. http://www.eyeshadowaddictsanonymous.com/2013/02/battle-of-taupes.html

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon #252B Nutty
sarahmarie86 11/1/2012 9:19:00 AM
I am a neutrals girl, and a taupe FANATIC... this is an AMAZING shadow, especially for the price. I agree that it is definitely a warmer taupe. I did swatches next to a bunch of my high end taupes on my blog if you would like to check it out: http://www.eyeshadowaddictsanonymous.com/2013/02/battle-of-taupes.html

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
sarahmarie86 10/27/2012 9:42:00 PM
Soft Ochre is an extremely warm (yelllow based) paint pot that can be used as an eyeshadow base... and some say primer. Although I don't get any creasing when I use it, I do find that my shadows fade a little quicker than if I used UD Primer Potion. I like Soft Ochre because it covers all the redness on my eyelid, but the formula is definitely a bit dry -- much drier than Painterly. I did a full review and comparison with swatches between Soft Ochre and Painterly on my blog if you would like to check it out: http://www.eyeshadowaddictsanonymous.com/2013/01/mac-paint-pots-painterly-vs-soft-ochre.html

Eye Shadow -MAC - Plum Dressing (veluxe pearl)
sarahmarie86 10/26/2012 1:22:00 PM
This shade is reddy pink on me... not plum at all. Additionally I find the texture to be more like a satin. It doesn't apply smoothly nor does it blend like other veluxe pearls. I love purples and own most of the ones MAC makes but this one is a dud. I definitely would NOT recommend. Check out my blog for pics:

Eye Shadow -MAC - Coppering (veluxe pearl)
sarahmarie86 10/25/2012 8:57:00 PM
The only way I like to wear this is as a transition shade out of a smokey eye... The texture, pigmentation and blendability are great, but I just think the color doesn't suit my fair skintone enough to give it more than 3 lippies. I have a couple pics on my blog of different ways to wear this eyeshadow. Check it out if you would like to get some ideas. www.eyeshadowaa.blogspot.com

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
sarahmarie86 10/25/2012 8:40:00 PM
This mascara is awesome! It's the closest you'll get to high end with a lower price tag.The only problem is when you first get it, it is a little bit watery... then after a couple days it's perfect... then after about two months it dries out. Even though it has a limited lifespan I still think it's worth it. It makes my lashes outrageously thick and long. LOVE
