Conditioner -Moroccanoil - Moisture Repair Conditioner
reneeschex 2/4/2011 1:17:00 PM
Liked it better than the shampoo; as I tried it with other brands of shampoo. Problem with it, like the shampoo, is that it ends up drying out your hair. My hair felt great the first couple times I used it, but then came the dryness and flyaways. The strange part is, the next day my hair felt very greasy and heavy. Must put some kind of weird coating on the hair. I'll stick with Purelogy Hydrate Light conditioner and Aveda Damage Remedy Leave In.

Shampoo -Moroccanoil - Moisture Repair Shampoo
reneeschex 2/4/2011 1:10:00 PM
Loved it the first time I used it. After the third day of using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair was so dry and flyaway. It confuses me that some say it moisturizes their hair and returns it to health. I have fine, highlighted hair that thrives on moisture, but I had the opposite results. It did feel light and bouncy, but not in a good way. Almost felt like my hair had no 'substance' if that makes sense. I will stick with my Pureology lines for sulfate-free. I enjoy Nanoworks and Hydrate.

Treatments -Moroccanoil - Light
reneeschex 2/4/2011 1:03:00 PM
This review is for Moroccanoil Light. I guess I am in the minority here. I bought this oil in hopes of helping me add shine to my hair and control static. While it does add some shine, every time I use it my hair is static and flyaway. I've tried it on wet hair before styling and dry hair to tame static. Neither has worked. The minute I run a hairbrush through it, it's a mess of flyaway hairs. Ugh! I am going to keep it; as I'm hoping once the heat kicks off after the winter, I will have better results. I added some Aveda Damage Repair Daily Leave In Treatment to my ends and viola, no more static.Go figure.

Shampoo -Aveda - Smooth Infusion
reneeschex 1/20/2011 9:13:00 PM
I never thought this shampoo would be for my hair type. I used the sample I received at the Aveda store that had all three Smooth Infusion products. All three together made my thin, fine hair limp and lifeless. I used the shampoo on it's own and love it. My hair has a different texture when I use it; almost heavier and fuller feeling, if that makes sense. It is smooth and very healthy looking without weighing it down. I will rotate it with some other shampoos, but one of my new favorites.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Lemon and Sage

Could not get a comb through my fine, highlighted hair. Used a handful of matching conditioner and it was still tangled. Had to put in another heavier conditioner just to comb it.

Styling Products -TiGi - Rockaholic Fun Times Hair Spray

This stuff smells so sweet it will turn your stomach. It leaves my hair 'crispy' feeling even though it does not hold a style well. Back it goes and back to my Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play. I shouldn't have strayed :-)

Just like the reviewer said below me; the best hairspray out there. It holds without being too stiff. No sweet smell, which I hate when I use hairspray. This is THE only hairspray that would hold my bangs back while I was growing them out.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - On Hold
reneeschex 3/27/2010 10:12:00 AM
I wear this color when I want something a little brighter and bolder. It's a watermelon tone with a slight amount of red/rose. It's a little bright on it's own so I usually line and fill in my lips with a very nude lipliner and add this to top. It neutralizes the color a little and looks so very pretty. Everytime I wear it, many compliments. I believe it is more for warm toned girls. Gorgeous for Spring and Summer only. Cremesheens are the only MAC lipsticks I use now.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Hymed - facial cleanser
reneeschex 1/7/2010 11:22:00 PM
This was given to me at my doctor's office after having a laser procedure done a few years ago. It is a very pure cleanser and even recommended for people going through chemotherapy, radiation, and psoriasis. I don't need this cleanser for any of the previous conditions, but I still use it. It is what it doesn't do to my skin that I like. No dryness, no stinging, no chemical ingredients. Expensive at $30, but lasts at least 4 months for me. The previous reviewer nailed this cleanser's great points..

Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads
reneeschex 9/6/2009 11:29:00 AM
I bought these based on reviews. This product is amazing. I started out using a pad once every 3-4 days at night, then increased gradually to every other night. If I notice dryness, I skip a night. That being said, these pads produce noticeable results. Small bumps and blocked pores seem to disappear with continued use. The next morning you look as if you had a real facial peel. I followed the directions and only keep on for 3 minutes then rinse off with cool water. I follow with a little moisturizer. It will sting for the 3 minutes, but I am sensitive and have not noticed any irritation.

Lip Liners -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil
reneeschex 4/20/2009 10:05:00 AM
The best lipliner I've ever used. I love 3C the most. 2C goes a little too pinky on me (I wanted a match to MAC's Buerre). I will still use, but with a lighter hand. I agree with one reviewer about adding a few more lighter tones to the collection. All in all, the longest lasting liner I've ever used.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen Creme in your coffee
reneeschex 4/14/2009 10:26:00 AM
As a reviewer wrote below, it is the perfect mix of brown and rose. I could see this looking good on anyone. It is what I hoped MAC Twig would look like. This is a bit brighter; not so dead looking. The Cremesheen formula is the best they make. It stays put for hours and feels light and comfortable on lips. No heavy feel or weird taste. This is the only MAC lipstick formula I will buy from now on.

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte Lipstick in #003 Ultimate Beige
reneeschex 4/6/2009 10:13:00 AM
Well, I guess I'm in the minority here. While the texture is silky smooth and color very wearable, the perfumey smell/taste was an instant turn off for me. What's more, the color faded to barely a stain after 15 minutes. I kept feeling the urge to grab a tissue and rub it off. Save your money.

Lips -MAC - Pro Longwear Lustre - Boss Brown
reneeschex 4/5/2009 10:50:00 AM
Boss Brown is a beautiful color; a warm toned shimmery bronze. The key to using Pro Longwear is to apply it sparingly; a very thin coating. After it dries, I add Cream O Spice lipliner, a touch of gloss, and off I go. Never reapply the color or it will ball up. Just add gloss to freshen up. The perfect bronze color.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shale Eyeshadow
reneeschex 3/31/2009 11:23:00 PM
Shale, along with Naked Lunch as a base, will make hazel eyes pop. I love Quarry during the day, but Shale is a more dramatic version with a slight frost. No red in it to make hazel eyes look tired. Love it.
