Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Full Cover Concealer
rated 4 of 5
raspberrysorceress 3/31/2012 5:33:00 AM

I purchased this in the lightest shade, 01, which is sadly not as light as I'd hoped. My skin is naturally NW5-10, and this looks a wee bit dark atop my foundation. I have cystic acne scarring (the worst kind) and this covers it all without any issues. Definitely full coverage; I made the mistake of using this under my eyes once, and what a mess that turned out to be! It looked like I had cracks in the concrete when I smiled. Blends well, doesn't dry too quickly and is heavy but looks natural (a must). Overall a very good product.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Lilash - Purified Eyelash Stimulator
rated 1 of 5
raspberrysorceress 3/31/2012 5:23:00 AM

I wanted this to work SO bad, but my skin can be so sensitive that when I used this it really messed me up for a week. I applied it correctly on the first night and awoke to red, swollen, discoloured, bloodshot eyes. I was asked if I'd been crying and it was commented that I looked as though I hadn't slept for days! This was horrifying. I feared it was the Lilash, so I stopped using it for one night. The next morning it had all gone away and my eyes returned to normal. With mixed feelings of both hope and doubt, I tried it again that following night. Alas, I awoke to red, bloodshot eyes and red/purple eyelids and under-eye area. I witnessed creases and fine lines below my eyes that I'd never seen before. Even makeup couldn't hide just how awful I looked. I wasn't prepared to look like a zombie for six months in sake for longer lashes. I sent this back to the company and am awaiting a refund. I understand that this works for some and I HAVE seen amazing results, but unfortunately, I would never go near a product like this again.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (was SS197)
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 3/23/2012 4:15:00 AM

This is my ultimate favourite makeup brush because it provides the most flawless application of liquid foundation I have ever witnessed. I have a MAC 109 foundation brush, a MAC 188 stippling brush and even a beauty blender sponge, yet I still find the Sigma F80 trumps all. Whether I'm using a sheer foundation or my heavy Estee Lauder Double Wear, this brush never ceases to blend foundation into my face without a leaving a streak (or taking up hours of my time!) It never sheds and washes up beautifully. I love this brush so much that I actually bought an extra one. I can't imagine doing my makeup without it. It's so beautiful and soft, the fibres so densely packed - it's luxurious. You won't know what I'm talking about until you try it. I strongly suggest you do.

Polishes -OPI - Dulce de Leche
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 3/19/2012 5:33:00 AM

A beautiful, classic, dusty-rose pink. I came across this colour when I was in my search for the nailpolish Molly Ringwald wore in 'The Breakfast Club' - Dulce De Leche is a perfect match. This is a neutral beigey-pink with a simple, glossy finish. It's perfect for those who like to have well-manicured nails but don't fancy anything too dramatic. Being so neutral this colour will go with just about anything you wear and not draw attention to your nails when they inevitably chip over time. It's very simple, elegant, feminine and versatile. You can't go wrong when you're wearing this.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 3/7/2012 1:29:00 AM

Wow. This is one product that lives up to its hype! I thought oh yeah, this is just another one of those over-raved about drugstore products that isn't really as good as proposed. I was pleasantly surprised. I regularly use MAC MSF natural for a powder, but this Maybelline one is MUCH better. This one is softer, more natural, and much less cakey. It doesn't settle into my pores/fine lines/dry spots and keeps my skin looking matte all day. This is my new 'holy-grail' powder. I love it!

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
raspberrysorceress 2/27/2012 2:47:00 AM

Great for removing makeup. I usually wear some pretty heavy stuff, like Estee Lauder double wear, primer, powder and waterproof mascara. I'm so lazy when it comes to removal these days, I really don't have enough time. In the past I'd use wipes and then remover pads, but I just can't do that anymore. I need something quick and easy and this product is perfect for that. What I love about it is that I can just splash some water on my heavily made up face, put a few drops in my palm and massage it in, rinse, and viola! All makeup gone! The only gripe I have is that it DOESN'T remove my waterproof covergirl lash blast. Nothing seems to ever remove that, actually. So this isn't infallible, but still exceptionally good.

Blush -NYX - Taupe
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 2/19/2012 5:03:00 AM

I'm very fair skinned, and majority of my bronzers/contour powders are a bit too warm or 'orange' looking. This one is definitely brown, like a soft chocolate-milk colour. It's almost identical to MAC's discontinued 'Strada'. What I love about NYX Taupe is that it's matte (no shimmer or glitter particles) and works great with my colouring. Perfect for contouring my cheekbones naturally. It has great staying power, and it's so cheap which is a big bonus too. Great product.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Well Dressed
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 2/17/2012 1:38:00 AM

I agree that this is the perfect blush for fair-skinned ladies. My skin is roughly an NW5-10 and this gives it the most perfect, natural dash of pink possible. I love the soft glow it gives and the sheerness of it. So pretty, you will look like a doll.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 2/8/2012 1:49:00 AM

This is now my favourite mascara, hands down. I've tried and reviewed the original, but I think the waterproof deserves its own. I purchased this in 'Very Black' which is indeed, exceptionally black. This is the only waterproof mascara I currently own, and it's just PERFECT for work. They say that only waterproof mascaras hold a curl, and now I definitely understand what everyone's raving about. I curl my lashes in the morning, put a few coats of this on, and it's locked in place ALL day long. I like how this one thickens the lashes at the roots and lengthens naturally, without looking clumpy or messy. I hate the spidery, clumpy lash look - I would rather not wear mascara at all than to look overdone in that area. So, in all, this holds a curl without fail, is rich black in colour, thickens, lengthens, defines and doesn't smudge, smear or flake - does it get any better than this? I think not. Just make sure you have some industrial-strength makeup remover, and you're good to go.

Mascara -Max Factor - 2000 Calorie Mascara
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 1/25/2012 5:14:00 AM

Mascara is never going to provide the same effect as false-lashes, get over it. I'd wanted to try this for ages, as is the way with most cosmetic products these days. This one is of excellent quality. It adds loads of volume to my lashes, doesn't smudge or flake whatsoever, and most importantly, provides the most richest-black colour of any mascara I've ever tried. For that reason alone, max factor 2000 calories really stands out to me. It reminds me VERY much of Maybelline's falsies, in that it really thickens up the lashes and adds length, only this one is much darker.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 1/17/2012 5:09:00 AM

So beautiful. I own both this and deep throat but this one will always be a classic and my favourite. Lovely delicate pinky-peach with subtle gold flecks throughout. When you wear this, you look like you're wearing something of very high quality. I wouldn't say this was extremely pigmented, but it can definitely be built up or softened down depending on your preference. As with all NARS products I love their classic packaging, even if it inevitably gets grubby after only a few uses. This is one blush I will always repurchase.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 3 of 5
raspberrysorceress 1/15/2012 5:23:00 AM

Like many others, I wanted to love this. I wanted to find my HG moisturiser, and after reading so many rave reviews I thought maybe this would be the one! I only use this at night time and when I wake up this does make my face feel plump and soft (although I'm currently using E.L advanced night repair too, so it could be the benefits of that coming through) I like the souffle-style of this, it makes it melt into my skin so well. I also don't mind the smell and think the jar is unbelievably cute. The one gripe I have with this is that it irritates my eyes to no extent. Upon applying this my eyes water excessively and they burn. I think for that reason alone, once this jar is up I'm going to have to move on and find something else. If this works for you, you can withstand the smell and it doesn't give you a painful adverse reaction, I think this could just well be amazing.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
rated 4 of 5
raspberrysorceress 1/15/2012 5:11:00 AM

This was my first primer, I got it for christmas in the squeezy-tube version. I use this and let it set for about 5 minutes before I proceed to foundation. I definitely notice a difference when I use this and when I don't. This helps make my foundation glide on easier - it blends better and assists in buffing the foundation across my skin. I don't notice my skin being any more oily as some other reviewers suggest, in fact I notice a lot less oil coming through. The only thing that this foundation doesn't provide which I wish it did, is that it doesn't prolong the wear of my foundation at all. I usually use it with my Estee Lauder Double Wear (an already long wearing foundation) but I don't notice it staying on any better than what it does without. Perhaps I'll need to try this with my other foundations and update my review. Until then, I like this, but I wouldn't repurchase because I'd love to delve further into the world of foundation primers!

Cleansers -Olay - Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
raspberrysorceress 1/15/2012 5:04:00 AM

Love this for lazy days when I can't be bothered removing my makeup properly. I just stand over the sink, wet my face and rub some of this in and then rinse. All my makeup? completely removed. I have generally quite dry skin, and this doesn't dry it out excessively either. It's a perfect blend. I have it in the squeezy tube which is great for travelling. Wonderful!

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush Pink Swoon
rated 4 of 5
raspberrysorceress 1/15/2012 4:47:00 AM

Can't decide how I feel about this. I have naturally very fair skin (NW5-10) and this can look exceptionally bright and borderline unnatural on me. Other days I'll use a bit of fake tan (by fake tan, I mean going up to a NC15) and pop this on my cheeks and it looks beautiful beyond words. I think it depends upon the colouring of your skin whether or not this suits you. If you're fair skinned like myself, perhaps steer clear, or apply lightly. Just because it's a sheertone doesn't mean that you should be careless when applying it (as I have learnt!) That being said, the staying power is excellent and the colour remains a whole day on my cheeks, so this is definitely a very good quality blush.
