Crème -Chanel - Teint Innocence Cream to Powder Compact Foundation
rated 2 of 5

I am HEARTBROKEN!!! I love everything about this foundation, the compact, the coverage, the finish, EVERYTHING! Alas, it's irritating my rosacea. I get little red bumps on my face by the end of the day when I wear this. I was actually told by 3 different SA's to get 3 different colors. The first one told me to get 1.0,(forgot the name) then another one told me to get the 1.5 and then I went to a makeover event and the national artist said to get 0.8. I think that one matched me the best. I'm NW20 (might be lighter now that it's winter) with brown hair and green eyes. I'm soooooooo bummed I can't use this anymore. :( Oh well, now I'm off to try the 2 other brands of foundation I have waiting in the wings. (Besame and Christian Dior Forever)

Lipstick -Chanel - Creme Gloss Lumiere in Petit Four
rated 4 of 5
pinky33 11/26/2007 7:15:00 PM

I went to a Chanel event last week and the SA put this on me. Whenever I get makeovers they ALWAYS put light colored lipcolor on me which usually frustrates me because I'm not into the "liver lip" look. I like some color! (I'm definitely not a red l/s girl though.) I thought I would hate this, but I really like it!! It does stay on for a good 4 or 5 hours. I put some on this morning and didn't have to reapply until after lunch. It's almost time to go home and it's still going strong. I've already gotten several compliments too. I use this and then put BBW mentha lipshine in "Frosty" over it. Beautiful!!!!!! I will definitely repurchase. For reference I'm NW15 with brown hair and green eyes.

Blush -Chanel - Irreelle Blush in Tea Rose
rated 4 of 5
pinky33 11/12/2007 4:30:00 PM

I really love this color. I have 3 chanel blushes and they are all Joue contraste because everyone says the irelle blushes are too sheer. Well I tried this at a Chanel makeover event and the MA picked this color because it matched the color of my ear lobe, which she said is the most flattering color. (and the color you would normally blush.) I really loved it on me but told the MA about the reviews on MUA and she said it's because there is no talc in these blushes. Hence the oil from your face gets on the brush and then coats over the blush, but it is easily remedied by rubbing a clean mascara spoolie over the blush. (I do this each time I use it.) Love this fresh, flattering color. For reference I'm NW20 with brown hair and green eyes. I also own Orchid Rose and Narcisse. But love tea rose the best! Next on my "to buy" list is Fantasia. EDIT: I still love Tea Rose, but it is kind of a pain trying to get the color on to my brush. Recently tried GA #11 blush and love it more!

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere Lipshine#32
rated 5 of 5

Well, I must say that Chanel lipsticks have become my HG lipstick. I especially love this color!! It makes my green eyes pop! (I'm NW20 brown hair/green eyes) I use MAC lipsticks as well, (sophisto and capricious) but for some reason I always reach for this. I also have Chanel hydrabase in Wild Tulip and a couple of rouge allures (Flirt and Voluptuous) I don't really have the problem of it drying out my lips but I live in So. Cal and I prefer to have the SPF in it. (you can always put lipbalm underneath.) I know some people don't like the scent of Chanel lipsticks, but I like the rose scent. (you can only smell it right when you put it on.) Some people complain that it smells like "grandma". I wish she smelled this good growing up! My grandma smelled like cigarettes and beer! ick!!! Needless to say I would totally buy this again if/when I run out.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss- Cherries in the Glow [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5

Hmmmm....where to start? I must say I'm very picky when it comes to lip products. I got this because of the reviews on MUA...but I have to tell you I wasn't impressed. This didn't really come off red on me, more of a pinky gloss. It didn't feel smooth on my lips either. Not sure why since there is no glitter in it. ?? I prefer my glossimers or Fresh sugar gloss in shag which is much more like Snow white IMHO. I'm NW20 green eyes/brown hair. It's been a long time since I've bought a D/S lipgloss. Apparently this is why. I'm sticking with my h/e lipglosses.

Lip Gloss -Fresh - Sugar Angel lipgloss
rated 4 of 5
pinky33 8/30/2007 4:48:00 PM

I got this in Sugar Shag. LOVE!! I usually go for more pigmented lipglosses because they end up being so sheer when you actually put it on. I like this color, not too dark and not too death warmed over. It's got a really nice feel, not too gooey/sticky/gross feeling. (yes YOU MAC) I like the SPF in it too. I also love Chanel glossimers and these rank right up there with them IMHO. Has it worked?? Well, I haven't shagged anyone YET!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Indianwood
rated 5 of 5
pinky33 8/14/2007 1:49:00 PM

I really like these paint pots a LOT!!! I bough Rubenesque first and loved it so much I went back and got Groundwork and Indianwood. (I had the light green one too but I returned it because it clashed with my eyecolor.) I'm wearing Indianwood today and it's great for warming up my NW20 skin and this color really makes my green eyes pop! It's just a gorgeous bronzey color but not too dark. I put this on from lashline to crease and then I used naked lunch to blend from the crease up to browbone and then I put rose blanc on my eyelid concentrating in the middle. Voilá! Perfect! These don't crease either which is why I went back for more. So glad they are NOT LE. And can't wait for more colors!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #209 Eye liner
rated 5 of 5
pinky33 8/8/2007 2:12:00 PM

Well, I have to say that I've been using Bobbi Brown ultra fine liner brush for my fluidlines as well as her gel liners. I like the stiffness of it but I couldn't get the line straight or fine enough. I can't use the slant tipped brushes either. I finally decided to try the MAC 209 and I'm very pleased with it so far. Used it for the first time today. If this brush splays I will be very upset and report back here. Otherwise this will be my go to brush. Wanted to try the 311 lip brush but haven't. So I don't know if that one is better...

Lipstick -MAC - Pink D'Lush Slimshine
rated 5 of 5
pinky33 8/8/2007 2:05:00 PM

Well, I bought this last night but it wasn't the color I was leaning towards. I love the feel of these and definitely wanted to buy one. I had it narrowed down to 2 other colors, however the SA told me it was the best color on me. I thought she was just trying to sell it, but then 2 other women stopped and said that it was very flattering color on me, especially with my green eyes. So in an effort to step out of my comfort zone I bought it and am wearing it today. I've already had 3 compliments. It really brightens up my face. I'm NW20 with brown hair and green eyes. I was afraid this was a grandma shade, but really it's so sheer, I can see it being flattering to most skin tones.

Sunscreen -Sofina - Perfect UV (UV cut milk Extra Block) SPF 50 + PA +++ [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
pinky33 6/12/2007 5:12:00 PM

Ohhh, I really DO love this product. It's runny and thin like milk not thick and gloopy. It made my skin lovely and matte and looked great under makeup. (no balling or pilling!) Great container. Love it!!! Unfortunately my skin didn't like it and I got little red irritation bumps. WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Up for swap it goes. For the record I do have sensitive skin with mild rosacea. (OSPW)

Palettes -Chantecaille - La Palette de Gloss - Les Sorbet
rated 5 of 5
pinky33 4/4/2007 4:52:00 PM

Wow!! This is my first lipgloss palette from Chantecaille. I LOVE IT!!! I lucked out and swapped for this. (I swooped on it!) I've been lemming these forever. I probably won't buy this palette again. Only because I won't use all the colors...I'm already gravitating towards guava and bellini so I'd probably just buy those separately. (more space in my purse.) These are seriously the most moisturizing lipglosses I've ever used. (and I am a lipgloss/lipstick whore!) These are pretty subtle, not super shiny-sticky, which I happen to appreciate. No major smell either. :) I've also purchased the lipsheers which I also love. (they are a little more convenient to apply.) They just don't come in the same shades as the lipglosses unfortunately. :( I will definitely keep buying these. LOVE!!!

Lipstick -Chantecaille - Jupiter
rated 5 of 5
pinky33 3/23/2007 4:52:00 PM

This is definitely the most expensive lip product I have ever bought. But man, it is SOOOOO worth it. I really love these lip sheers. I also have it in Helios and Comet. They feel SO good on your lips and they are the perfect subtle color with just a little bit of shimmer. Just enough to look "done", but not over the top shiny or glittery. I have medium brown hair with red and gold highlights, pale skin and green eyes. Jupitor is a pinky-brown color. Subtle but pretty. Now I'm interested in trying the lipgloss palletes. Yikes, I'm not going to have enough money to pay my rent this month! But I'll have the best damn lips out of all the homeless people. :)

Lip Gloss -Chanel - Spark Glossimer
rated 4 of 5
pinky33 3/23/2007 4:38:00 PM

I was at Sephora one night after work trying on lipgloss after lipgloss. My lips were soooooo sore from wiping it off and from trying lip plumpers. I finally left and was walking through Macy's when I stopped at the Chanel counter and saw Spark. I tried it on even though my lips were screaming NOOOOO!! It felt instantly soothing and I loved the color! So I bought it! I have 3 tubes of this stuff I love it sooooo much! LOVE the color. I'm a pale brunette with green eyes. My hair & eyes are warm but I have a lot of pink in my skin so I consider it cool. I want my lipgloss to give me some color not just be shiny. I hate colors that just melt into your own coloring and I'm not a fan of the nude lip....my drama teacher calls it "liver lips". I'm also not into bright screaming lips (for myself) either. I have other colors of this like summer plum which I also love for spring/summer. I tried Jaipur but it's just too neutral. (I'm looking to swap it!) I like Blizzard too.

Treatments -Skinceuticals - Hydrating B5 Gel
rated 4 of 5
pinky33 3/23/2007 4:31:00 PM

Yes, I would buy this product again and I have! I use the Skinceuticals CE ferulic and I have to use the hydrating gel with it or else my skin starts to get irritated. I think I like this B5 gel better than the CE ferulic. (although I know they serve different purposes.) This gel is very soothing for my skin. I can use it in winter and summer. It's probably not THAT moisturizing, but it helps hold in the moisture. I still get a little flaky but that's due to the differin gel that I use. (retinol) Overall I like this stuff and if you buy it on ebay in the sample vials it's not horrendous.

Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Mocha
rated 5 of 5
pinky33 2/7/2007 1:13:00 PM

Ok, first about me: I have sensitive combination skin with mild rosacea. I'm a PPP with medium brown hair (red & gold natural highlights) and light green eyes. (in prescriptives I'm a R/O Vanilla, in Chanel I use shell vitalumiere) I have used a lot of blushes in my day (Nars, bobbi brown, prescriptives, clinique, Jane) and this is one that I find myself reaching for over and over again. It goes with everything!! It looks like a mauvey-brown with subtle shimmer in the compact and it goes on just beautiful, doesn't clash with my rosacea at all. It stays on all day too. No touchups. I don't swipe my brush on the blush, I dab it on and then the color gets in the middle of the bristles and it's easier to swirl/blend onto my cheeks. This is expensive but at the rate I'm going, I'll still be using this compact in 3 years. The SA at the chanel counter put Mystery on me, so I bought it but when I got home I found that they had given me Incognito. I took it back and saw Mocha. When I swatched it on my wrist compared to Mystery it was pretty similar, but for some reason the "quilted" blushes are harder to pick up color for me. So I went with Mocha and I'm not sorry. Love it!
