Liquid -Bourjois - Bio Detox Organic Foundation
rated 2 of 5

I didn't actually buy this product, but I did get a generous sample so I could play with it for a few times. The advertising made me think this would be a very nice foundation for my oily skin. The shade selection is not wide by any standards, but it is adequate for light to medium caucasian skintones. I got it in the shade 53 which seemed to match my skin nicely, but I think I could have gone with 52 as well. The coverage is quite good, I would describe it as medium. It does cover smaller redness areas and it evens out the skin very well, but it is not enough for stronger pigmentation. Also, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and I didn't have problems with streakiness as some other reviewers did (fyi, I use a flat synthetic kabuki to apply foundation). However, it felt very drying and it accentuated every little dry patch I had. It made my pores look bigger too. I thought this may make it more suitable for the summer months, but I was so wrong. After an hour or two, my face became very oily and the foundation has very little staying power. I blame alcohol which is quite high on the ingredient list. It mattifies the skin at first, but then your skin reacts by making more oil, which just looks awful. Furthermore, alcohol is very bad for the skin and I see this foundation working for noone. The drier people will hate it because it will make them look even drier and the oily will hate it because the grease breaks through very fast. If you had any desire to try this foundation, I say: skip it! It's definitely not worth the money.

Eye Shadow -Catrice - Made to Stay Long Lasting Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 10/12/2011 2:42:00 PM

absolutely amazing cream eyeshadows. i've been on the market for non-expensive, but long-lasting cream shadows for over a year now and none that i have looked into have even given me the desire to try them out. so, naturally, when i found out about these, i researched them and found that several beauty bloggers are very satisfied with them because they are excellent quality for very little money. so i decided to buy them. i got 3 of the 6 shades available: 040 lord of the blings, 050 metall of honor, 060 jennifer's goldrush. they all have either a metallic or very shimmery finish, all are somewhat cool colors and come in 5 gram jars. the packaging is sturdy and elegant looking, but it is hard to reach the product if you have long nails, so i mostly use a brush to apply them. (the brush i apply them wth is a flat synthetic one and these shadows work very well with it) the consistency is a cream. it does not resemble a mousse, it's not bouncy or liquidy, but simply a compact cream. the staying power is amazing. i have worn them for at least 6-7 hours without a base and they held up amazingly. no creasing, smudging or fading whatsoever. and the best thing is the price - less than 4 euros a piece. as far as the shade selection goes, it's very limited. 3 out of 6 colors are very cool (silver, blueish-gray kind of shades) and the ones that i bought lean more toward neutral. 040 (lord of the blings - awesome name) is a very metallic golden silver (but more silver) or a metallic champagne. it's excellent as a base, hilighter or just a wash all over the lid. the metallic effect is not overwhelming, but very elegant and make the eyes really stand out. 050 (metall of honor) - dark shimmery cool brown. i mostly use this color as a liner or i apply it into the crease. for me, it's too dark to be worn all over the lid 060 (jennifer's goldrush) - medium metallic khaki. can be worn as a liner, over the lid or just in the crease. i hesitated to buy this shade, but when i got home and applied it, i was so happy that i got it. it compliments my dark brown/green eyes very well and is extremely wearable. all in all, i cannot praise these enough. the are very budget friendly and the quality is simply outstanding. i only hope that catrice will expand the shade selection in the future as i would love to see some golds and purples in the range as well.

Polishes -Catrice - 110 Poison me, Poison you!
rated 4 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 10/12/2011 2:18:00 PM

the color of this polish is very beautiful, it's a dark purple with warm undertones and lots of shimmer. it's opaque after two coats and lasts quite long (for me it's about 3 days without chipping). the only thing i resent is that it doesn't dry really quickly. it's nothing too long, but i would love it if they improved on that. however, it's not a big disadvantage considering that this product is dirty cheap (3 or 4 euros)

Liquid -Clinique - Stay True [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 10/6/2011 9:08:00 PM

i haven't bought this product, but have received a generous sample of it and i'm glad i didn't spend my money on it. it's just an average foundation, nothing spectacular about it. the coverage is, in my opinion, a little less than medium. it evens out the complexion, but does not cover redness. i have some acne scarring and small red pimples which required a concealer. the finish is semi-matte, without any glow or shine, but still leans toward natural, rather than chalky. the general feel is also very natural, it blends nicely, and looks almost invisible. it doesn't really accentuate any dry areas, but does not disguise them either. the downside is that it simply does not last on me. my skin is quite oily and i've worn it to a wedding which included some sweating and a lot of dancing and it simply did not perform. after 5-6 hours it visibly melted off my face (even though i put a primer underneath and set it with powder), became patchy and redness around my nose started to become quite visible. if it wasn't for the poor lasting properties, it would have made an excellent everyday foundation since it looks natural and isn't heavy.

Lotions/ Creams -La Roche Posay - Lipikar Balm
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 10/6/2011 8:57:00 PM

out of all body moisturizers i've ever tried, this one is by far the most nourishing and soothing one. the texture is quite thick, but it spreads easily. it doesn't really leave a film after applied, but it does take slightly longer to absorb into the skin. however, my skin is only slightly dry, nothing too serious. my elbows and knees are the biggest problem because they tend to be very dry and even start to flake as the weather gets colder. this balm easily takes care of that problem. one more important thing: the feeling of comfort this balm leaves does not only last a few hours, but at least a whole day. the issue i used to have with other body moisturizers is that they would nourish my skin after applied, but it just wasn't lasting enough. after i woke up in the morning, it was as if i hadn't applied anything the evening before. with this, my skin stays soft longer and elbow and knee dryness is kept at bay. the only downside of this product is that it does stink slightly. it's not too overwhelming, but can bother me sometimes. at first, i thought that i might have bought a faulty product, but when i read the reviews here, i realized that other people feel it too. i deal with this by putting a drop or two of some scented oil into my palms and then spreading it all over my body. this tends to disguise the smell of the lipikar balm

Concealers -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer
rated 3 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 7/23/2011 11:24:00 AM

this is just an average concealer. when i first bought it, i was quite satisfied, but as the weather got colder, i started disliking it. my undereye area gets dryish because of the strong cold winds and this only accentuates the dryness. however, it does cover nicely. not quite full coverage, but enough for medium dark circles. the packaging is awful. i only went through 2/3 of the product and realized i just can't squeeze it out any more so i had to cut the packaging and depot it into a small plastic jar. so much came out, i got enough for 1 or 2 months of daily use left. it does crease slightly, but i have yet to find a concealer that doesn't

Bronzers -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 7/18/2011 12:09:00 PM

this review is for the SOFT MATTE bronzer. i first have to say that it's huge. 21 grams is the biggest size in a pressed powder format that i've ever seen, which is quite good since this is a very expensive bronzer. there is only one color which i think would suit many skintones, except for very dark ones. it's not too pigmented so it's not easy to go overboard with it, and i find this a great quality in a bronzer. i would describe the color as a medium brown/bronze with slight reddish undertones. it does not lean orange at all. when applied (with measure) it gives a gorgeous sunkissed look. a luminous matte would be a good description of it. it has absolutely no shimmery particles in it, but the texture is silky and not chalky so i guess that's what makes it a little luminous. it doesn't accentuate any bumps or scars on my face and is easily blended. i apply it on my cheekbones, chin, forehead and just a little over the bridge of my nose and i look like the sun hit me a little, without being too dark or orange. it comes with a brush that is made of natural fibers and which is excellent for contouring, but is a little scratchy. also, it has quite a big mirror which is very convenient for touch-ups. i did state that i would buy this product again, but considering the amount of it, i highly doubt this will happen in the next several years

Treatments -Avene - Cleanance K
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 7/18/2011 11:47:00 AM

i'm using the new reforumlated version. (i did not try the old one so i can't compare them) i only use it as a night treatment since it has several acids in it and i religiously apply something with an spf during the day because of those acids. in the time i've used it (over half a year, i'm on my second tube), my pores are far less blocked and painful inflammations have stopped bothering me. this does not dry out my skin at all, but i haven't noticed any moisturizing effect either so i have to use a moisturizer during winter when my skin gets dehydrated because of the cold. it does sting slightly upon application, but only in the places where i have pimples. it does help heal existing ones, but only slightly. its biggest advantage, in my opinion, is that it prevents future ones from appearing. i wouldn't call it mattifying, but this is no drawback for me since i use it only before i go to sleep. the texture is somewhat dense, but creamy and not dry at all. also, a little goes a long way. the first 40 ml tube lasted about 6 months, with daily application. i've just started using the second one this week. i'm not sure how this would work for those with very sensitive skin since i wouldn't classify it as a very mild product. however, it hasn't made me break out and it hasn't caused any allergic reactions on my skin, which is only slightly sensitive

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Tapered Sculpting Face Brush
rated 4 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 7/18/2011 11:32:00 AM

i was torn between 4 and 5, but ended up giving this brush a 4 for only one reason: right after i bought it, it shed slightly, not much, but approximately 10-20 hairs fell out. now, this isn't a big problem since it did remain quite dense, but i do find that none of my other EM brushes (i have 4 other ones) shed a single hair. it's possible that i just got this slightly faulty one. other than that, i really love this brush, it's a real multi tasker. it can do foundation, blush, bronzer, powder, highlighter and contouring and it does a great job at all of them. this is the kind of brush that i would take on holiday or a trip because it can manage many types of products. i do prefer it for bronzer/conotur because i can easily control the amount and placement of those products. it works equally well both for cream and powder products and gives a beautiful even finish. leaves no streak marks and blends easily.

Cleansers -Bioderma - Sebium H2O
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 5/26/2011 12:48:00 PM

i've only been using this for 2 weeks, but if it continues to be this good, i can safely say that it is my hg cleanser/makeup remover. it has a mild exfoliating effect, i guess it's from rubbing my face with a cotton pad so my skin gets smoother and softer. also, it leaves a very slight film, or layer, which is why my face doesn't feel dry so i don't need to use a moisturizer over it, but only an acne treatment (avene cleanance k). it removes foundation completely, but it seems that this is not one of those products where little goes a long way. according to my loose estimation, the 250 ml bottle will last no more than two months. however, if you buy the 500 ml bottle, you will get more value for money. (in my country, the 250 ml costs cca 15$, and the 500 ml is around 22$) the only thing i dislike is the taste. no, i do not drink this :D, but when i rub it in with a cotton pad, i sometimes accidentaly go over my mouth with it, and it leaves a sour taste, which is a bit yuck. but the smell is very nice, fresh, but not overpowering. mind you, this does not have any life changing effect on acne, but it does make my face feel and look generally clearer and more even. anyhow, if this continues to perform the way that it has so far, i will continue to repurchase it time and time again. UPDATE: still loving it as both texture and appearance of my skin have improved significantly. i'm on my second bottle now and i'm not even thinking of buying another cleanser

Cleansers -Avene - Cleanance soapless gel cleanser for oily skin
rated 4 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 5/26/2011 12:28:00 PM

this is a very nice product overall. although it is designed for oily skin, it doesn't dry it out. nevertheless, i still need a moisturizer after this because i have dehydrated skin. also, i think it helped clear my acne problem, but only slightly. i don't have that squeaky clean feeling after using this gel because it does not contain soap, which i like very much. the bottle contains 200 ml of product, which lasts cca 3 months, and i use it religiously, once in the morning, and twice at night to take off my makeup. the only downside is that it takes a lot of massaging to take off all my foundation (i use a different product to remove eye makeup). admittedly, i do use shiseido's spf foundation daily, which is waterproof and relatively long lasting, but sometimes it's a pain to spend several minutes massaging this gel into my face and then repeating the process to get my whole makeup off. other than that, i really can't think of any negative aspects of this product. do, if you do not wear foundation, or wear a light one, this is a wonderful product. oh, and it causes absolutely no irritation or breakouts on my skin

Blush -Chanel - Joues Contraste in Espiegle
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 4/8/2011 10:09:00 AM

such a beautiful color, i cannot praise this enough. - relatively sheer, but can be built up - gives a gorgeous glow without being glittery. - mostly peachy, with just a bit of pink - very springy, vibrant, yet natural - in my opinion, this is the most beautiful of all the chanel blush shades - goes on evenly and lasts all day - the only downside is the price (50$ in my country) - also, i dont think this would suit darker complexions since it is rather light. anyone that is medium and/or up would probably have a hard time getting this color to show up

Liquid -Clinique - Anti Blemish Solutions Liquid Make Up
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 2/8/2011 2:23:00 PM

I really love this foundation. My skin is pretty oily and Revlon Colorstay (the oily/combo version) was the only thing that could keep my face from shining. However, that foundation broke me out so I had to stop using it. Clinique Anti-blemish is somewhat similar to Revlon, but mattifies my skin a bit better and does not break me out. I would say that the coverage is pretty much the same, which means that unless you have quite a lot of redness or discoloration, it will cover practically everything. However, I would not recommend this for the area around the eyes because it would dry the skin there. The shade selection is not perfect, 02 Vanilla is a bit light and pink for me and 03 Neutral is yellow enough, but just a bit darker than my skintone. I decided to buy 03 because I easily get a tan and the pinkness of 02 is a bit too much, since I am on the yellow side. For my oily skin this is perfect, especially for going out, because it does not smudge, budge or melt of my face, even when I'm sweating, it still stays put. Unless something goes really wrong with it, I think I will continue to repurchase this foundation time and time again. But let me make myself clear, this is not for those with dry/normal skin or those looking for light to medium coverage, but only for those who have a very shiny face and want a flawless look.

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Short Angled Face Brush
rated 3 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 12/14/2010 8:09:00 AM

not the softest brush i ever used, but not scratchy either. what bothers me the most is that it just isn't dense enough so it gets too flimsy. the hairs don't fall out and the handle is pretty good, it's a very light brush, but because of the flimsiness, i feel like it doesn't distribute powder products evenly. however, it is nice for those products where i prefer a very light touch, such as bronzer (which i am very careful not to put much). overall, i don't use it very often and usually grab something else over this.

Highlighters -Christian Dior - Shimmer Powder 002 Amber Diamond, Spring 08
rated 5 of 5
oooHUNTRESSooo 12/9/2010 8:01:00 AM

after reading lots of reviews about this product and watching youtube tutorials, i decided to go ahead and spend $55 (this is the price in my country) on this product. i have pretty oily skin so i'm not really much into highlighters, but when i swatched this on my hand, i decided i had to have it. while i was in the shop, i swatched highlighters from some other brands as well (clinique, chanel, clarins, collistar...), but none of them had shimmer as fine as this one. i think some others (primarily chanel) were almost glittery, which i do not like at all. the packaging is very nice and elegant and holds 10 grams of product which is a lot in my opinion, and considering that i only use a little on my temple and the top of my cheeks, i believe it will last for years. last night i applied it and my boyfriend (who thinks eyeshadow is actually lipgloss :D) said: wow, you look really fresh. that's when i realized i hadn't made a mistake buying it. the texture is really nice, not too soft so that it crumbles and not too hard so that there is nothing on the brush when i swipe it over the product. this color is something like light champagne, but it leaves almost no color on so i use it with all my blush colors (bronze, peach, pink...).
