Lipstick -MAC - Rebel Lipstick

Yes Makeup God sign me up for a lifetime supply of MAC's REBEL lipstick. Gosh, I really do wish there was a Makeup God :) Any who, this lipstick is one of my staples in my makeup arsenal. I love everything about it. I love the finish, the color, the staying power and I love the name. Speaking of the staying power of this lipstick, it is amAzing. From all I know MAC doesn't claim the lipstick is long wearing, but for some reason this particular color lasts a lifetime. Well, it lasts almost a lifetime. The color on me is a beautiful intense raspberry pink/purple mix. When it fades, it fades to a gorgeous vibrant raspberry. This color is a great alternative to red lipstick. It makes the same statement as a bold, catch your eye red, but with an unexpected twist since the color is so unique, in my opinion. I will be re-purchasing this till they make it and when they stop, and lord I hope they don't, I will buy all of the REBEL lipsticks left at MAC :)

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Improvise
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 6/19/2011 9:02:00 PM

Shame this was a limited edition color because it is a multitasking gem! I bought it at a CCO and at the time it didn't wow me. I actually think I mainly bought it for the cheap CCO prize, it was around 10-12 bucks. As a blush it kind of disappoints on my skin tone (yellow-medium shade). So the blush sat in my makeup box for a very long time. A couple months ago I re-started to wear bronzer (without shimmer) and decided to put this over my bronzer, but only on the apples of my cheek, and batman all mighty it looks quite lovely. At the same time I was running out of, one of my favorite eye shadows, ALL THAT GLITTERS and this is such a great dupe for it. So this little gem works great as an eye shadow, blush over bronzer and a highlighter. If MAC decides to bring it out again, I would most likely re-purchase.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Eyeliner in Black
rated 2 of 5

It's meh at best. Bought the product for it's claim of 16 hour wear, but so not true. Fine maybe it's not meh, but okay. I am actually the type of person that prefers pencils you need to sharpen since I hate how dull self propelling pencils become, and the sharpeners that they come with are NEVER that great. I can never get a great point on these pencils so I mainly use them on my waterline, since they are too dull to use on the top eyelid and I never get a nice crisp line. Well this pencil goes on quite lovely on they waterline, kind of like a muted black, but after about an hour it starts to disappear. This usually happens to me with a lot of pencil eyeliners, BUT this pencil will disappear into my bottom lash line, which is still okay. BUT when it starts to smudge beyond my lash line, well that is no bueno for me. I have since started using it on my top lash line when I don't want a crisp line. I put it on and due to the fact that I can never get these self propelling pencils to go on straight, I just end up smudging the line and then I have decent soft, smokey upper lash line. I can get this effect with so many other products, so needless to say, I will not repurchase.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 6/10/2011 6:54:00 PM

I am shocked more people have not reviewed this gem of a product! These are the cheaper versions of Urban Decay shadow liners, and they are also replacing Sephora's Jumbo liners (huge improvement on the staying power). I, and my pocket book are glad that I waited and did not buy the UD version. For the price of one UD shadow liner you can buy two of Sephora's version, which is exactly what I did. I bought the brown and beige 12hr shadow liners. The beige is a gorgeous everyday highlighter shade. It has just the right amount of shimmer, but no glitter, to highlight the eyes. The brown is the PERFECT bronzed, shimmer brown. It is such a gorgeous color to use as an eyeliner, shadow or shadow base for a beautiful bronze/brown smokey eye. The staying power is amazing especially as the barometer is rising for the upcoming summer months. I will def. be looking to purchase more colors and I hope Sephora really keep these liners, and based on all the positive feedback on their website, I cannot see why they wouldn't.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professional Angle Brush
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 6/10/2011 6:39:00 PM

This is my HG gel eyeliner brush :) It works great to draw a thin line on your upper lashline, as well as the waterline. I love how stiff and durable this cuz I have had it for so long and it's held up through multiple washes. I will likely re-purchase, but I seriously think it will not be for quite some time cuz this thing has lasted me over 3 years!

Bronzers -Sephora - Bora Bora Bronzer SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
normaestrada19 6/10/2011 6:03:00 PM

I bought this lovely bronzer on sale for about 8 bucks. I absolutely love the when products multi-task, so the fact that it comes with SPF 15 makes me all that much happier. This is also the first bronzer that has a distinct smell, a lovely smell, which reminds me of summer. For the first couple uses I thought the smell was just something I was either imagining or only able to smell. One day, when my hubby kissed me, he said I smelled like summer :) I also appreciate how thin the compact is, since it makes it practical to carry with you.

Tinted Moisturizer -Sephora - Tinted Moisturizer

Wow, and WOW in a baaaaaaad way. This made my usually greasy, oily face even more so. I got this as a sample and tossed it after a couple uses since I just saw no saving grace in this product. I really do not know how this claims to be 'oil free' because oil seems to be the products main ingredient.

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Style - Smoothing Milk

This product left my hair feeling sticky and icky like I needed to re-wash my hair. I like to be able to run my fingers through my hair and with this it was impossible to do. I believe I tossed it out after a couple of uses.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner Deepest Black
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 5/15/2011 3:36:00 AM

Yes and I mean YES, I would def. re-purchase this little drugstore gem. This has got to be THE best gel eyeliner hybrid pencil I have used. So many reasons to love this line of eyeliners but mainly, for me at least, this STAYS on my waterline :) Let me count the ways I love this pencil: A truly pigmented intense black, smooth like butter, long wearing, cheap, and most importantly it stays on my waterline. Yes tis true, you do have to sharpen quite often and sometimes it can be hard to draw a straight line on upper lash line (due to it's butter like consistency) BUT for under 6 buck a pop, I do not mind the sharpening. I end up using my Clinique cream liner for upper line or if in a hurry will use this as well but the line is not as thin as with a cream liner. I have used it all, super high-end pencils, loose kohls and even an eyeliner from Pakistan, and yet this gets the job done better than anything. I waited months to review this pencil because I truly wanted to try it under several circumstances before professing my undying love for it and yup I am in love :) I have these in all the colors they are available: black (true intense black), brown (basic brown, but wish it had a bronze sheen), teal (kinda of a grayish teal with metallic finish), green (beautiful hunter green color with metallic finish), strong slate ( gorgeous gunmetal silver with metallic finish), blue (lovely denim blue with metallic finish), purple (more like a black purple without the somewhat metallic finish on the other colors) and finally olive (pretty warm olive color with metallic finish). Once more, I am in love with these pencils and look forward to more colors.....

Eyeliner -Ulta - automatic eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
normaestrada19 4/24/2011 6:16:00 PM

Ugggh, did I get 4 duds when I purchased these eyeliners in Black, bronze and chocolate ( I got 2 of the black) cuz they seriously suck! First of all color payoff is no good. I like drama and the black is more of a charcoal, bronze is the color of red clay, and chocolate is a meh brown (expecting a bit of shimmer with this one). They do not stay on my waterline, yes true I complain about that alot and yet Prestige intense wear eyeliners and Clinique cream liner stay for a good while. Needless to say I was underwhelmed with these pencils.

Eyeliner -Milani - Eye Tech Liquid Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
normaestrada19 3/3/2011 2:44:00 AM

This eyeliner goes on beautifully and smoothly and then before you know it, like a couple hours later, it becomes a smudgy, oily mess. It's dirt cheap and it performs like it. I have lately become the return queen and I am glad I saved the receipt and package cuz it's going back. It is dirt cheap, but 7 bucks is still 7 bucks!

Eyeliner -Styli-Style - Kajal Bullit
rated 1 of 5
normaestrada19 1/25/2011 12:35:00 AM

Argh, this product was utter chicken poo. It has no staying power, very little product and close to no pigmentation. I think other than trying to use it on my eyes, I have managed to use it as a writing tool when no pen or pencil was to be found. I now just keep it in my small makeup clutch, in case perhaps tis the only thing to be found to write with.

Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow BlackOut Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 1/25/2011 12:18:00 AM

Due to my oily, greasy skin I have to use waterproof mascara so that I don't look like a raccoon/panda hybrid. Up until now I have been riding the glory that is Blinc mascara, BUT I have realized that my lashes had zero volume to them. So I love that Blinc gave me no issues with smudging but the trade off seems to be no volume. What the heck? I mean that seems to be too big of a trade off for me. I naturally have long, volume packed lashes so it kinda upset me how anorexic Blinc mascara would make them look. Enter Dior Show BlackOut waterproof mascara and viola I got my luscious, long, volume packed lashes back!!! It is true the mascara tends to dry out in the tube and when applied it goes on kinda dry and yet it stays moist while on. Kinda weird it does that but it does and I have no issues since it gives me such a wonderful, dramatic all day wear look. So yeah, if you are into the natural look I would look else wear cuz I have been accused of wearing falsies with this mascara. Unlike my top lashes, my bottom lashes are very sparse and still this mascara makes them look lush AND without a single smudge. Happy girl I am :)

Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Neutral Set translucent powder

normaestrada19 1/24/2011 11:43:00 PM

Geez louise, What oh what is wrong with my face that almost nothing, including this highly rated product, will work for me???? I had super, duper high hopes and did not mind the cheap packaging cuz um it's dirt cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. I passed this on to a co-worker since it is whole bunch of product and did not want it just sitting in my medicine cabinet. On to trying Kryolan anti-shine powder. Hope I fair better with that since it's a bit more pricey. Please makeup Gods all I want is for a shine free face....at least for like 5 hours and then I don't mind reapplying :)

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
rated 5 of 5
normaestrada19 1/24/2011 11:15:00 PM

Yes, I will most certainly repurchase this product again. It is A) dirt cheap, B) Great DS find and C) Product delivers what it claims to do. I love that for around 5 bucks I can find a great basic brown eyeliner (there is nothing metallic about this pencil, so I guess in that sense it's false advertising, lol) that will save me from buying basic eyeliners from department stores, MAC I am talking to you, for so much more. On second thought I think that the reasoning behind claiming metallic status is due to the gold and silver eyeliners within the same line. True those 2 colors are metallic, but the black and brown are not. Still a great drug store find these pencils are and for that matter Milani is, at least for me, a great brand that carries comparable quality products for much, much less.
